I was called in to judge as Mrs Worth was unable to travel. As always I enjoyed my time in Scotland and judged some very nice cats. My thanks to my friend Joan Smith who not only gave up her time to keep me company on the journey up but also stewarded for me with her usual expertise.

AC PERSIAN NON-SELF CHAMPION FEMALE

GR CC MR D HAMILTON’S CH LEMASH CLEMENTINE (12a5) F 23/7/08 – Red and White Bi colour that is cobby in shape and stands low on her legs. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round orange eyes which are a good size and shape. Short snub nose with good stop and full pink leather. Good bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Well prepared coat of a rich red and sparkling white. Body is mainly white with some colour to legs and face. Tail fully coloured and in proportion to her body.

AC NON-SELF PREMIER MALE

GR PC MS A SATTAR’S CH & PR SHEERBLISS SHERE KHAN (70 9) MN 30/5/08 – Red Tabby Exotic of well balanced Persian type. Cobby in shape and standing low on short legs on round firm paws.  Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite.  Full fat cheeks, strong chin. Dense plush coat of a rich red with deeper red tabby markings that show a clear butterfly, oysters to flanks and spine lines. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Tail in proportion to body. A lovely young man.

GR PC W/H MRS M CARMICHAEL’S CH & PR TAMOSAH CARLY (10) FN 14/8/06 – I was sorry to have to withhold the certificate on this Chinchilla but I was unable to handle her as she was going for my steward most of the time and was quite unhappy. She is a good shape and size and pleasing for type. Her eye colour is a very good green. Unable to assess her bite. Coat needing a little more preparation especially to her underparts. A real little madam!

GR CC MRS M WRIGHT’S CH POWERKATZ EVOLUTION (64 41sw) M 20/12/08 – Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon. Body long standing on substantial legs on large round well-tufted paws. Head medium in size with large tall ears that are well tufted and spaced nicely apart. Full, round gold eyes which are set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Muzzle is square with full rounded cheeks, chin firm. Well-prepared coat with lovely ruff and breeches. Coat showing a silver agouti ground with well defined dense black tabby markings. M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Well defined oyster to flanks, butterfly to shoulders and good spine lines. White chest, feet and underparts. Slight tarnish on his face. Tail long, well ringed and at least the length of the body. Lovely young man.

RES GR CC MISS & MRS LAMONT’S CH CATTITUDE ILLUSION INBLU (66a) M 17/6/08 – Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll who was very laid back. Long and muscular body standing on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Broad head with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, set wide apart and tilted forward. Large slightly oblique medium blue eyes. Nose of medium length with a gentle dip and slightly retrousse at the tip. Good bite. Muzzle round, firm chin. Well-prepared coat showing some surface shading but clearing at the roots. Points colour a medium shade of blue and are all matching. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders.

GR PC MRS F BROWNSMITH’S PR POWERKATZ LUCY LOU (64 41ew) FN 14/2/09 – Tortie Tabby and White Maine Coon. Nicely balanced and very pretty.  Body solid and muscular with good breadth to chest standing on substantial legs with large round well tufted paws. Head medium in length, nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones. Level bite. Square muzzle. Eyes full and round, spaced well apart and set slightly oblique. Well presented coat with full ruff and breeches. Brilliant copper brown ground overlaid with red and black tabby markings which are well defined. White chest, feet and underparts. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

RES GR PC MR & MRS SNEDDON’S PR SHAWCOON FLORA MCDEE (64 41) FN 15/4/09 – Brown Tabby Maine Coon. Good size, well built and standing on substantial legs with large round well tufted paws. Body long with proportionate limbs creating the characteristic rectangular appearance. Head is medium in length with tall well tufted ears that are set high but well apart. Round green eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with a slight concave curve. Square muzzle with firm chin. Good bite. Coat needing a little more preparation. Cold copper ground colour with well defined black markings to head and legs. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumb prints to ears. Body markings very diffused today. Tail very long, well ringed and well furnished.

SORREL SOMALI ADULT

1CC BOB MR G GOW’S BRIZLINCOAT SHANGRI LA (63a) F 3/7/08 – Sorrel Somali of good size and shape and well balanced. Head a moderate wedge with brow, cheek and profile lines showing gentle contours. Slight rise from the bridge of the nose to the forehead and good width between ears that are proportionately large and well tufted. Eyes large and almond shaped and amber in colour, set obliquely with good penciling. Level bite. From the front a shallow indentation forms the muzzle and in profile there is a slight nose break. Coat soft, fine and dense. Coat is a rich copper colour made up of an apricot base coat ticked with cinnamon. Chest, belly, under tail, inside of legs and breeches a rich apricot. Ticking, ear tips and tufts, facial markings, top and tip of tail, toe tufts and heels cinnamon. Tail long and well furnished. She was a little nervous but handled OK.

BROWN or BLUE TABBY MAINE COON MALE

BOB MRS M WRIGHT’S CH POWERKATZ HERO (64 41w) M 20/12/08 – Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon. Good size and body confirmation standing on substantial legs with large round well-tufted paws. Body long creating the characteristic rectangular appearance. Head medium in length with large tall well-tufted ears, which are spaced well apart. Full and round gold eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Square muzzle, cheeks fairly full and high cheek bones. Coat needing a little more preparation showing a warm brown agouti ground colour, M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Body markings well defined. White feet, chest and underparts with white inverted V on face.  Tail long, well ringed and at least the length of the body.

BROWN or BLUE TABBY MAINE COON FEMALE

1CC MRS V BAKER’S JULESCOON BURLESQUE (64 41) F 25/11/09 – Brown Tabby Maine Coon. Body is medium in size and she stands on substantial legs on large paws. Head medium in length with large tall ears that stand tall and are set well apart and are very well tufted. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Round gold coloured eyes which are set slightly oblique. Square muzzle with rounded cheeks. Level bite. Coat well prepared and a nice texture.  Well defined classic tabby markings. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Tail long and at least the length of her body with rings.

2ND MRS G DELANEY’S COONTIPS PRINCESS LOLA (64 41) F 10/11/08 – Brown Classic Tabby Maine Coon. Large, solid and muscular body standing on substantial legs on large round well tufted paws. Head is medium in length. Needing head to mature a little, cheeks and muzzle need to develop more. Bite level. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Ears tall and well tufted, wide at the base, set high and spaced well apart. Eyes full and round, green in colour spaced nicely apart and set slightly oblique. Coat needing more preparation. Warm copper agouti ground colour with well defined black tabby markings on legs and face but body markings diffused due to length of coat. Well ringed tail, full flowing and at least the length of the body.

SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON ADULT MALE

1CC MRS G DELANEY’S COONTIPS MOONWALKER (64 41sw) M 5/11/09 – Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon. Body long and he stands on substantial legs with large round well-tufted paws. Head medium in size with large tall ears that are well tufted and spaced nicely apart. Full, round gold eyes which are set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Muzzle is square with full rounded cheeks, chin firm. Well-prepared coat with lovely ruff and breeches. Coat showing a silver agouti ground with well defined dense black tabby markings. M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Well defined oyster to flanks, butterfly to shoulders and good spine lines. White chest, feet and underparts. Tail long, well ringed and at least the length of the body. Slight tarnishing to body but this does not detract from an otherwise lovely young man!

2ND MRS F HAMILTON’S TRELGANDORF PADFOOT (64 41dsw) M 23/1/10 – Red Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon. Lovely long body. Medium head with large, tall ears, which are wide at the base and well tufted. Eyes full and round, spaced well apart with a slightly oblique set. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Cheeks full with high cheekbones. Good bite. Square muzzle firm chin. Nice textured coat of rich red markings on a bright apricot agouti ground colour and clean white. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumb prints to ears. Shoulder markings forming an outline of a butterfly with oysters to both flanks.  White on face, chest, feet and underparts. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON ADULT FEMALE

1CC MRS F HAMILTON’S TRELGANDORF ISADORA (64 41esw) F 23/1/10 – Silver Tortie Tabby and White.  Well balanced body, medium in size, solid and muscular. Standing on substantial legs with large round tufted paws. Head medium in length with large tall well-tufted ears that are spaced well apart. Round gold eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Good bite. Cheeks needing to develop a little more. Square muzzle, strong chin. Well-prepared coat with ruff. Ground colour very pale silver and silvery red. Markings black on a copper brown agouti with red intermingled. Nicely patterned showing Classic Tabby pattern. M to forehead, spectacles, thumbprints to ears with ample necklaces to neck and chest. Barring to legs and spots to the tummy area. Lines running vertically on both sides from spine lines, which where narrow and numerous. White chest, feet and underparts. Tail long and at least the length of the back, well ringed.

AOC MAINE COON ADULT

1CC BOB MR & MRS McKAY’S KASSARO FIREDANCER (64 41ew) F 15/5/09 – Tortie Tabby and White Maine Coon. Very nice exhibit who was balanced in type and body shape, muscular and solid standing on substantial legs on large well-tufted paws. Head medium in length with very nice breadth and large tall ears that are well tufted and spaced well apart. Gold eyes which are full, round, spaced wide apart and set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Full cheeks and excellent square muzzle. Well prepared coat showing well defined black tabby markings on a brilliant copper brown agouti overlaid with shades of red. M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Butterfly to shoulders and oysters to flanks. Coat length a little short. Legs well barred and rings to tail.  Tail long and at least the length of the body.

2ND MRS M WRIGHT’S POWERKATZ MY IMAGINATION (64 41ew) F 10/2/09 – Tortie Tabby and White. Very pretty just needing to fill out now and become more mature looking. Solid and muscular with good breadth to chest standing on substantial legs with large round well tufted paws. Head medium in length, nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Cheeks and muzzle just needing to develop. Eyes full and round, spaced well apart and set slightly oblique. Well presented coat with full ruff and breeches. Brilliant copper brown ground overlaid with red and black tabby markings showing well on head and body. White chin, chest, feet and underparts. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

3RD MR & MRS WILSON’S COONSRUS PANDORA ROSE (64 41ew) F 9/1/10 – Tortie Tabby & White Maine Coon of good size and shape. Solid and muscular standing on substantial legs. Head medium in length needing a little more width between ears that are tall and well tufted. Full round green eyes that are set slightly oblique. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill and muzzle needs to develop a little more. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Black classic tabby markings on a warm copper agouti ground overlaid with shades of red. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Butterfly to shoulders with oyster on each flank. Back showing well defined spine lines. White chest, feet and underparts. Coat well prepared with ruff and breeches developing well. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

AOC SOMALI KITTEN

1ST BOB MR G GOW’S GOWLAREN JURANDIR (63c) M 5/5/20 – Blue Somali of good size and shape, beautifully balanced, firm, lithe and graceful with a lovely smiley face. Long legs with oval feet and tufts between the toes. Head is a moderate wedge with gentle contours. Ears are set wide apart, broad at the base, proportionately large and well tufted. Almond shaped hazel eyes which are set obliquely and well apart. A shallow indentation forms the muzzle from the front and in profile there is a slight nose break. Level bite. The overall impression is a coat that is a soft blue with chest, belly, under tail, inside of legs and breeches a warm mushroom. The base coat is cool oatmeal at the moment. Ticking, ear tips and tufts, facial markings, top and tip of tail, toe tufts and heels are blue. Tail long and well furnished.

SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON NEUTER MALE

1PC BOB MR & MRS WILSON’S CALEYCOON BRODIE (64 41ds) MN 17/11/08 – Classic Red Silver Tabby Maine Coon. Body long, solid and muscular and he stands on substantial legs with large round paws. Head is medium in length with ears that are held high and spaced nicely apart. Round gold eyes that are spaced wide apart and set slightly oblique. Nose of even width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Muzzle square with firm chin. Cheeks full with high cheekbones. Coat is well prepared displaying well defined Classic Tabby markings. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Well defined butterfly to shoulder area with oysters on each flank. Good barring to legs. Coat has a pale silvery red ground colour with red markings. Nicely developed ruff and breeches. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

2ND MISS N McGOACHY’S SHAWCOON FANTASIA FALKOR (64 44sw) MN 3/10/09 – Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon. Body medium in length standing on substantial legs on large round well-tufted paws. Head medium in size with large tall ears that are well tufted and spaced nicely apart. Full, round hazel eyes which are set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Muzzle is square with cheeks needing just a little more fullness, chin firm. Well-prepared coat with ruff and breeches developing. Silver agouti ground with well defined dense black tabby markings. Good markings to head and legs. White chest, collar, feet and underparts with white inverted V on face. Tail long, well ringed and at least the length of the body.

SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON NEUTER FEMALE

1PC MISS N McGOACHY’S SHAWCOON WE WILL ROCK YOU (64 44gs) FN 15/8/08 – Blue Silver Tortie Tabby Maine Coon. Good size and shape. Body long standing on substantial legs on large round paws. Head is medium in length with square muzzle and firm chin. Ears large and tall wide at the base and spaced nicely apart. Eyes full and round and hazel in colour. Nose of even width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Cheeks are fairly full. Coat well prepared. Coat colour is showing a pale silvery blue and silvery cream. M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints. Body markings are diffused due to length of coat.  Well furnished tail with well defined rings, tapering slightly towards the tip and reaching the shoulders easily.

NORWEGIAN FOREST NEUTER MALE

1PC BOB MS C THOMSON’S ELFENTANZ SVART FYRSTE (67 15) MN 23/4/09 – Black Norwegian Forest who is a good size, heavy boned and has an alert expression. Body is big, long and muscular and he stands high on the legs with the back legs longer than his front ones. Paws are large, round and well tufted. Head is triangular with all sides equal and he has a long straight profile. His chin is a little weak. Forehead is slightly rounded and he has large ears that have good width at the base. Eyes are a good size, obliquely set and green in colour. Good bite. Coat is a good length with full ruff and knickerbockers Coat has the desired woolly undercoat and is covered with a coarser overcoat. Tail is long and bushy.

MRS N BALFOUR’S GR PR NORSHELIAN AXEL SKAUKONGEN (67 31s) MN 4/3/05 – Black Smoke and White Norwegian Forest. Heavy boned but elegant shape. Body is a good length and he stands on legs that are longer at the back than the front on firm round paws. Head is triangular with large ears which have good width at the base. Eyes oval, green and he has an alert expression. Long straight profile. Good bite. Well prepared coat showing black with contrasts. Coat has the desired woolly undercoat but is lacking the guard hairs today and it is rather on the short side.   White blaze to face with white chest, underparts and feet. Tail long and easily reaching the shoulders.

Well-prepared coat showing some surface shading but clear at the roots. Points colour a medium shade of blue and they are all matching with well defined Tabby markings. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Barring to legs and rings to tail. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders.

1ST MISS I BAKER’S CH & PR JULESCOON BLACKJACK (64 41) MN 29/11/07 – Brown Tabby Maine Coon. Good size, well built and standing on substantial legs with large round well tufted paws. Body long with proportionate limbs creating the characteristic rectangular appearance. Head medium in length with tall, very well tufted ears that are set high but well apart. Round eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with a slight concave curve. Square muzzle with firm chin. Cheeks quite full. Good bite. Coat well prepared and a lovely texture. Warm, rich copper ground colour with black markings which where brindled a little on the day. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumb prints to ears. Shoulder markings forming an outline of a butterfly with oysters to both flanks. Tail long, well ringed and very well furnished.
