Croydon Cat Club
13th February 2010

Mrs R James

My thanks to Pat Norman and the committee for the invitation to judge.   Thanks also to Linda Cargill who stewarded for me  and kept my paperwork in order.   We both had a lovely day and enjoyed handling (and cuddling) so many delightful cats.

NON-PEDIGREE/PEDIGREE PET SECTION.

AC NON-PEDIGREE MASTER (MASTER CLASS) MALE
 1. Hutchinson’s MC Leon.   A beautifully marked, well proportioned sh tabby with a well groomed coat.   Leon has nice green eyes and was happy to be judged (until he caught sight of his neighbour)     GMC awarded.    The only cat in his class but a worthy winner.

AC NON PEDIGREE MASTER (GRAND CLASS) FEMALE
 1. Emery’s MC Mouse.   A lovely deep grey spotty tabby with big green eyes delineated with black eyeliner.   Well groomed, coat very soft.   Mouse was a very happy cat, easy to handle and enjoyed the fuss.    GMC awarded.
 2. Tolhurst’s MC Heidi.   A very solid tortie/tabby with so, so clean white parts and very unusual markings.    I loved the nose ‘splodge’ and Heidi’s gorgeous eyes, so big and bright.
Heidi was very well groomed, relaxed and happy.   Ran the winner close.
 3. Macoy’s MC Snowdrop.   A white, fairly muscular cat with yellow/green eyes and a well groomed coat.   However, Snowdrop was quite shy and anxious to return to pen under her blanket.    I set great store on temperament so, on this occasion, she didn’t score as high as the other two in the class.

AC LH OR SLH KITTEN
1. Potter’s Bertie Bassett.   A lovely SLH black boy with a well groomed soft and shiny coat.   Bertie has lovely expressive eyes and is a relaxed and happy puss.   I was pleased to award his MC.
2. Mcleod’s  Ozzie.   Another super puss; a LH blue and white boy.  A sweet faced kitten with unusual almond shaped eyes.   Ozzie was well groomed but seemed a little overwhelmed by the occasion and was definitely happier in his pen.

SELF (SINGLE COLOUR) WITH/WITHOUT WHITE SH NEUTER
1. Macoy’s MC Snowdrop     (see critique above)    MC withheld.

GINGER/AC TORTIE WITH/WITHOUT WHITE SH NEUTER, MALE.
1. Potter’s Duke.   A large, handsome, ginger and white chap, in great shape for a fourteen year old.   Duke has a big wide male face with white bib and short white socks and was very well groomed and presented.  A very happy chap who strolled out of his pen onto the table.   That’s the way I love them!    MC awarded.   Only cat in class.

GINGER/AC TORTIE WITH/WITHOUT WHITE SH NEUTER, FEMALE.
1. Lloyd’s Lucille.   A gorgeous dark tortie girl with green eyes and a well-groomed coat.   I loved the two red marks on her front feet.   Very unusual.   A very sweet puss, lively and friendly, who enjoyed the fuss we made of her.   MC awarded.
2. Tolhurst’s Heidi.   See critique above.

PEDIGREE PET OPEN CLASSES.
TABBY (ANY PATTERN) WITH OR WITHOUT WHITE.  SH NEUTER.

1. Franklin’sMC Louie.   This was my most favourite cat of the day.   Louie is a truly gorgeous spotted tabby with a rust undercoat that gave him an overall biscuit colour.   I should guess that he is part Bengal.   He was so relaxed that he fell asleep in my steward’s arms and I had a job to prise him away to get a cuddle myself.    He is a credit to his very lucky owner and, of course, he was awarded the MC.
 2. Howes’ GMC Cheetah.   This boy has super markings...spots and stripes, necklaces and barred legs.   Cheetah ‘s coat was very soft and he had the most lovely big ‘owl’ eyes.   I liked him a lot, however, his temperament was not as good as the winner.
3. Newberry’s Simba.   A very handsome oriental type sh brown tabby with blue eyes.  Simba has a lovely  ticked coat and was well groomed and presented.    He looked for attention but was not very happy out of his pen.
