Ms P Holmes

My thanks to the committee  and Shirley for the invitation to judge this show. Congratulations on your First Championship Show, I am honoured to be part of it. My thanks also to my steward Dawn Davies, she is just excellent and good company too.

Class 5 – AOC Birman Champion Male
GR       Portsmouth’s Ch FUSHOULU POLO MINTI Lilac Point boy of just over 4 years. Nice mature look to this cat, he was however quite tense as he and the boy next door were quite busy exchanging words. Head is quite strong with good breadth and reasonably rounded, he has nice full cheeks and a level bite and nice chin. There was a dip in profile to his slightly longer than medium nose. Good medium ears with space between. Eyes are almost round and of a good blue colour. He has a nice expression. Good body with weight and substance, nice length, good bone to medium length legs and short strong paws. Tail is bushy and of a good length in proportion to the body. His coat was quite summery, but had silken texture and good lengths, his points colour were matching except on the tail where it was pale and brindled, nose leather was lilac and the body shade was off white. He has good matching gloves, socks and gauntlets.
RES     Bailey’s Ch NICADAEMUS DANSE DEFEU Red point boy of just over 13 months, and at the other end of the not too pleasant exchange taking place. The older boy made him look a little immature, which of course he is. He was also not very amenable to being handled preferring to get on with the war of words. Head has reasonable breadth, like a little more fullness to cheeks , level bite and slightly fading chin. Dip to medium length nose in profile. Medium ears with space between. Eyes are almost round a balanced size and a mid blue in colour. He too has a nice expression. Body has good length and there is good bone to medium length legs, short strong paws. Tail length is balanced and it is bushy. Nice coat, silky with good lengths. Points colour is orange and nose leather is pink, body shade is cream. Gloves , socks  are good but the gauntlets are only just half the length and I’d have liked them a wee bit longer. Nice boy just needing to mature and lose the attitude.

Class 6 – AOC Birman Champion Female
GR       Simmond’s GC GAYEMAUDI RINGARINGA ROSY A most attractive Seal tabby point girl of 5 years and nearly 4 months.  She has a lovely mature look. Lovely broad strong head, full rounded cheeks, level bite and good chin. Nose is of medium length and has required dip when viewed in profile. Ears are the smaller side of medium in size and are well spaced they would look better without those little tips on them too. Lovely eyes almost round and of a good balanced size. Good blue eye colour. Lovely body too, good length, nice bone to medium length legs and short strong paws. Tail is bushy and just long enough to balance. Super coat lovely silken texture and lengths. Good points with tabby pattern easily identified, pink nose leather with seal outline, beige body colour. Good gloves, socks and gauntlets. Really a very nice looking girl and she knows it too.

RES   Ensor’s Ch KITTAH ARTEMIS Sea; Tortie point girl of nearly 2 years old, again this girl was made to look immature by the winner. Good head with reasonable breadth and strength, nice rounded cheeks, level bite and good chin. Dip in profile on slightly longer than medium nose. Good medium sized ears with space between. Eyes are almost round and are of a good blue colour. Body is nice and weighty with length and good bone to medium length legs, short strong paws. Tail is bushy and of proportionate length to the body. Coat is somewhat seasonal but is of silken texture and shows good lengths. All points were broken, and body was beige. Gloves, socks and gauntlets were good.

Class 51 – Tabby Point Birman Neuter Male
BOB   Lee’s Ch & Sup UKIGP KALEMYO KLAWSFORAPPLAUSE An old friend! Seal Tabby Point boy of 10 years and 2 months. Gosh is it almost 10 years since I nominated him for BIS at the LH&SLHCC show, oh that makes me feel old! Well I liked him then and I still like him. Lovely head, good strengths and lovely expression. Good blue eyes. His body is good and long and he has lovely bone. Coat is good with nice silken texture and good lengths. Nice tabby points and good gloves and socks, his gauntlets are just half length and I would still like these more generous for perfection. But a lovely example of the breed.
PC    Maynard’s GAYEMAUDI BLUEZELAH Blue tabby point boy of 1 year 9 and a half months.
Nicely put together boy, head has good breadth and strength, nice full cheeks, level bite and good chin. Medium length nose with dip and slight bump in profile. Medium sized ears with space between. Eyes are of a good blue colour and almost round. Nice body with length, medium length legs with good boning, short strong paws, tail is bushy and of good balanced length. Good coat silken texture and good lengths. Points are blue tabby and he has a pink nose leather outlined in blue, body colour is bluey white. His gloves both have flick-ups to the stopper pad but not beyond, the left sock is longer but the gauntlets are reasonably matching.

Class 52 – Tabby or Torbie Point Birman Neuter Female
PC        Baldwin’s HUGNHOLD GOLDEN JUBILEE Gosh I cant quite get over how many older cats have been brought out today and what lovely condition they are in too. Here is another, this Seal Tortie tabby Point girl of just over 8 years and 3 months. Lovely breadth to head, good full cheeks, level bite and nice chin. Shorter side of medium length nose with dip when viewed in profile. Smaller side of medium ears but with good space between. Lovely expressive blue eyes which are of a balanced size and almost round. Nice well filled body, good bone to medium length legs, short strong paws. Tail is bushy and of balanced length. Matching points showing both tortie and tabby, trotie shading over body . Good gloves, socks and gauntlets.
