Dr P Collin

Many thanks to Helen, Sue and Sean for the kind invitation to judge here again. I had a lovely day and judged my first grand classes after George Gow had to withdraw- I hope that you are well again soon George. Due to personal circumstances I am currently having to limit my critiques to the grand and open classes. I will return to “usual service” as soon as possible. Apologies.

Class 353 A.C. BURMESE CHAMPION MALE
GrCC Pallister’s UK GR CH CHATHERA COOLCOLUMBO  27c  M  15.7.03
A handsome boy with lovely head type. He has a short wedge with very good width at his cheekbones and tapering to a fairly short muzzle with a blunt finish. He has very good width to the top of his head with super rounding and his ears are set wide apart. They are medium in size with a correct shape. His eyes are moderately large and slightly deep set. They are a correct shape with a well-rounded bottom line and a flatter top line angled towards his nose. They are pale yellow in colour and he has a nice Burmese expression. In profile his brow is gently rounded and he has a well-defined nose break with a fairly short nose that is straight and finishes in the same vertical plane as his chin that is medium in depth. His bite is untidy but level. He has a compact frame and slightly stocky legs. His back is straight and his chest is rounded. His coat is medium in length and a nice satin-like texture and is a rather dark and cool toned lilac. His tail just balances and is a correct shape. He has a very shy gentle temperament and his condition today was good.
2nd Dell’s CH KUPRO CREAM SALIX  27f  M  10.5.08
A 2 year old cream boy looking a little younger than his age. He has a short wedge with good width at his cheekbones and tapering to a moderately short muzzle with a blunt finish. I would like a little more width to the top of his head for preference and his ear set to be slightly lower. His ears are medium in size and a correct shape with a broad base and rounded tips. His eyes are large in size and set fairly well apart. There shape is correct with a rounded bottom line and flatter top line angled towards his nose. They are chartreuse in colour. In profile his depth of head is fairly good and his brow is gently rounded. His nose break is fairly well defined and his nose is a little long but straight and just finishes in the same vertical plane as his chin that is medium in depth. His chin was dirty with some acne today. His bite is correct. His body is compact in size. His coat is medium in length and lay a little open today and was greasy along his back and tail with a slightly coarse texture. He is a darker toned cream than preferred and is clear coated except for a single broken necklace. His tail is the correct shape and balances. He has a very nice calm and gentle disposition. This gentle chap has a lot to like but just lacked a bit of sparkle today with his coat not being in top condition no doubt due to his age.

Class 364 CHOCOLATE BURMESE KITTEN
3 very nice girls!
1st & BOB Williams’ MOLYNMEUX DINKYDEUX  27b  F  25.10.09
A lovely kitten fulfilling her early promise. She has a short wedge with excellent width at her cheekbones and tapering to a short blunt muzzle. The top of her head shows very good rounding and good width between her ears that are set well apart. Her ears are large in size with a correct shape showing a broad base and rounded tips. Her eyes are a lovely large size and are set wide apart and have a good shape with a well rounded bottom line and a top line that has a change of direction in the arc but which is angled towards her nose. They are gold in colour with a faint chartreuse inner rim and she has a lovely Burmese expression. In profile the depth of her head is good and her ears show a slight forward tilt. Her brow is gently rounded and nose break reasonably well defined. Her nose is fairly short and straight and finishes in the same vertical plane as her chin that is medium in depth. Her bite is correct. Her body is compact in size but she feels heavy. Her tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. Her coat is medium in length and lies well. She is a pale chocolate with minimal contrast and which is cooler toned on her body but developing warm tones on her head and neck. Her condition is very good and she handled and is beginning to develop a looks enhancing Burmese attitude!

Red Burmese Kitten
1st and Bob Hutchison’s Irrep Mzamo 27d M 9.9.09
What a total smasher! Super type, just let down by his shyness at being handled. He has a lovely balanced short wide wedge with very good width at his cheekbones and tapering to a fairly short blunt muzzle. He has a lovely wide rounded top of head with excellent width between his ears that are medium in size and the correct shape. His eyes are large and lustrous and are set well apart and have a super shape with a well rounded bottom line and a flatter top line angled towards his nose. In profile his brow is slightly flat and his nose break is well defined and his nose fairly short and straight and finishes in the same vertical plane as his chin that is medium in depth. His bite is correct. He is medium in size and feels heavy. His tail is the correct shape and long enough to balance. His coat is medium in length and lies well with a nice texture. He is a medium red which is developing along his flanks. He is admirably clear coated. He was in lovely condition and was very shy but gentle natured. I liked him very much indeed and he is one of the best red kittens I have seen in a long time!
