West Country Cat Club
16th January 2010

Miss C White

I was joined for the day by Honour Single as my steward. We had not met before but I enjoyed our day together. Honour is in the Siamese section but she handled the British and Selkirk Rex with care and skill and was a very good steward. Many thanks for your hard work and good company, Honour.

BRITISH BLACK SILVER TABBY
MALE
CC, BOB – KEMPSELL’S GREYGEES GAIUS MARIUS
24/04/08 Very good size to this male he has a broad deep body four-square and weighty. He stands on thick strong legs with large paws. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Broad head with full cheeks is topped by ears which are just a little tall. Cheeks filling out well. Large round hazel eyes. Broad nose and level bite, chin could just be a little firmer. He has a short, very dense but slightly soft coat – the fact that he was losing coat just shows how confusing the weather temperatures are at the moment! The ground colour is medium silver giving good contrast to the black pattern. He has good facial markings and lovely stripes running from the corners of his eyes. Plenty of necklaces, some broken, and spotty tummy. His spine lines are clear but have rather jagged edges. Fairly clear butterfly. Oysters are a little muddled. Good leg barring and he has thick black rings ion his tail with some linkage. Some very slight fawning on his face. Nice temperament.
FEMALE
CC - THEXTON & MARTIN’S BARRENGER SILVER DUFFY
18/03/09 Just an adult and she has a neat frame  with short strong legs and firm paws and a medium length tail with rounded tip. Round head with cheeks developing. Ears are a little large for balance as yet. Lovely big expressive hazel eyes. Broad nose and level bite, she was puffing out her whisker pads today. Fairly firm chin. Dense coat is short but just a fraction soft. The ground colour is medium silver offering a good contrast to the black pattern. Good ‘M’ on her forehead and stripes and lines on her face. Attractive necklaces and she has good spots on her tummy and barring on her legs  - she has spotty toes! On her body she has a clear butterfly from the lines over her head and the spine lines are clear with very little brindling in the pattern, just some in the ground. Matched oysters. I almost awarded it to the blanket but despite being very shy, she came out in the end and is very sweet!
2ND - HEWITSON’S COUNTRYSTYLE SILVER MONICA
12/04/08 Attractive cobby female with good shape to body, short strong legs and round paws. Tail balances to body for shape but is rather short. Broad round head with ears which are a little open at the bases – she tended to swivel them outwards which detracted a little. Full cheeks. Large round green eyes. Broad nose with brick nose leather, level bite and firm chin. She has a slightly long soft coat, the ground very pale silver. Good facial markings with ‘M’ and lines running up over her head to the butterfly. Good spine lines and evenly oysters are clear. She has barring on her legs and rings on her tail which has a black tip. Interestingly she has some spots on her upper tummy – in the shape of a bib - but none lower down.
3RD - WILLIAMS’ CROWVALLEY SILVA PANTHEA
02/05/08 At the moment this female is out of balance - she has a long rangy body and stands tall. She is of reasonable weight. Her head is fairly rounded and although she has some roundness to her cheeks she has large open ears which take the balance away. She looks very youthful. Green eyes need to be rounder. Broad nose, level bite and fairly firm chin. Her coat is crisp and quite short, the ground pale silver. The pattern has a lot of brindling in the black which detracts from the contrast. She has a very narrow centre spine line with wider stripes on either side running from the butterfly. Oysters are equal. Some spots on her toes and a spotty tummy. Not much barring evident on her legs. Ringed tail of good length with black tip. Good temperament.

BRITISH BLUE-CREAM ADULT FEMALE
CC, BOB - CHADWICK’S WINDYMEADOW OLIVIA
06/07/07 Coming into her prime now and she has a lovely four-square cobby body  with short strong legs and firm round paws. Broad round head with well set, but slightly tall, ears. Her eyes are fairly round – just a fraction flat along the top line but the colour is a super deep copper. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Lovely short dense crisp coat with well mingled medium cream and soft blue, sound to the roots. All four paws broken with the colours. An attractive female.
2ND - BURFORD’S MIBAYBESE LUNA WELLS
04/09/08 A large framed female of good weight – she looks a bit long and rangy at the moment but has very well boned legs and big paws. Tail of good length with rounded tip balances top her body. Rounded head, the cheeks still filling out. Good width between slightly large ears. Large round eyes of a good orange colour. Broad nose and level bite in very square muzzle. Chin could be firmer. Dense crisp coat, the colours are dark blue and warm cream sound to the roots and well mingled. I was later told that she has had a litter in the past and is not yet up to full speed, but her condition is good. I think that as she is such a big-framed cat that she will take time to mature, even without kittens, and for her head to fully broaden and balance. Once she  has that maturity we will probably need a crane to get her out! Good temperament.

BRITISH BLACK SILVER SPOTTED ADULT
MALE
1ST CC Withheld - COOPER’S KHANCOBAN SILVER COBWEB
18/09/06 A large framed weighty male with breadth and depth to a muscular body, good strong legs and rounded paws. His tail is very short for balance to his body. Broad head is just topped by rather large ears. Round eyes, the colour is a pale but definite clear green. Broad nose with brick nose leather, level bite and firm chin. Dense short coat is just slightly soft. The ground colour is medium silver. The black pattern has some brindling which just diffuses the density of the colour. He has good facial markings and lines running over his head to his shoulders. Spotty tummy and barred legs. On his back the spots are evident but they are still linked and generally most of the spots on his body are linked into lines and barring. He just has areas of spots on his upper sides either side of his spine – the lack of spots was my reason for withholding the Certificate today. Good temperament. I understand that he throws good eye colour and goods spots so with or without titles, it makes him a worthy stud.
FEMALE
CC, BOB – HEWITSON’S MARDENKA MATERIAL LASS
01/09/06 A lovely cat - she has good type and balance and a weighty mature body with solid legs and paws. Slightly short tail with rounded tip. Broad round head with full cheeks – ears could just be a fraction neater. Large round eyes of a good shade of green. Broad nose and level bite in marginally narrow muzzle. Firm chin. Short dense coat with a good contrast between the medium silver and the dense black pattern. Good facial markings and necklaces with the lines running over her head to her shoulders, the lines break into spots with very little linkage doen the spine and good clear spots across the rest of her body and tummy. Barred legs and ringed tail. Very attractive to look at.

BRITISH BI-COLOURED ADULT
BOB - STEELE’S GR CH POSITIVELY FANNY HILL – Red & White female

BRITISH TIPPED ADULT FEMALE
BOB – GAYTON’S CH TANNU MAROZKA TAMMARA
CC – BROMLEY’S TANYRALLT SWEET WHISPER – Black Tipped
17/05/08  Neat cobby female is still quite young and she could be weightier but she has a good balance to her body.  Short strong legs and round paws; balanced tail could be a little longer. She has a good round head with full cheeks. Good width between neat ears. Round eyes are a little deep set but they are of a good shade of green. Broad nose and level bite, chin could just be firmer. Her coat is a little long but it is dense and crisp and the heavy black tipping is even across the body, head and tail.
2ND - BOND’S MAROZKA ANASTASIYA – Black Tipped
20/04/06 We checked the date of birth on this girl because I have to say that she did not look the age we had recorded in the judge’s book. She has a long rangy body at present and an immature head for her age. Her legs are reasonably well boned but she has rather dainty paws. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Her head is round but it is just topped by rather large upright ears which need more width between. Large green eyes are round and lined with black, and have a pleasing expression. Broad nose with brick leather, level bite and fairly firm chin. Her coat is a little long and is flat-lying and the medium black tipping is rather uneven across the coat. Sweet temperament.

BRITISH GOLDEN TIPPED ADULT, FEMALE
CC, BOB – STEELE’S PRIDYKATS GOLDEN GRACIE
26/09/07 Maturing well – she has a lovely balance with a cobby four-square frame, short strong legs and neat firm paws. Tail balances to her body for length and shape. Broad round head with neat ears, well spaced. Lovely large green eyes of good shape and set. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Her coat is a little long but the colours are lovely – she has even dark brown tipping across the coat which is clear of markings – apart from a few dark brown ghost rings on her tail. The colour of the undercoat on her chin, chest and stomach is a lovely rich apricot colour, giving a good contrast to the tipping. I think that both the breeder and the owner of this cat are making a huge contribution to the improved undercoat colour on Golden Tipped which had started to fade from the breed a few years ago, and which seriously detracted from the overall impression of the colour of these cats.  It is lovely to see that richness and vibrancy back.

AC BRITISH COLOURPOINTED ADULT
BOB - OUGHTIBRIDGE HEARLEY’S CH TANGLEKEYS TOMINTOUL – Cream
MALE
CC – ALEJANDRO MALACHY MCCOURT – Blue
18/03/09 A good solid male for bone and weight – his body just needs to broaden but he is only just an adult so he is well developed so far. He has a neat head with reasonable cheeks, again his head just needs to broaden overall. Open ears are fairly well set. Round blue eyes are a little small and deep-set. Broad nose, level bite, chin to firm. Short dense crisp coat, the body coloured heavily shaded but it tones with the points colour. Evenly matched points colour just shows some slight fawning.
FEMALE
CC - DICKS’ MOORMIST LOYALTY – Seal
13/03/08  Quite a small framed female but she is compact and cobby and she has reasonable weight. Good breadth and depth to body, short legs and rounded paws. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Round head with neat, well set ears and round blue eyes. Cheeks filling out well. Good profile and level bite. Her coat is fairly short, could be a little crisper, but reasonably dense. Even very dark seal points colour. The body colour is heavily shaded but there is still clear contrast between body and points. Sweet temperament.
2ND - FAWCETT’S GOODERICK TIGER LILIA – Lilac
13/05/08  This female is of a similar age but she has a bigger frame which makes her look rather rangy at the moment. She has good bone to legs and paws but she needs to broaden and deepen in the body. Balanced tail. Round head with rather open ears. Cheeks filling and round blue eyes. Broad nose, level untidy bite, firm chin. Her coat is a little long and soft but it has density. She has a warm magnolia body colour and fairly good contrast with the lilac points colour – the colour is just rather brindled on her tail.

AC SELKIRK REX PREMIER NEUTER MALE
GPC – WALKER’S PR AMAZOLOU THE NEW SCHMOO – Red Tipped
13/04/08 A strong looking cat with a medium rectangular frame, broad and deep, standing on medium length sturdy legs with firm paws. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Broad head with cheeks developing well. Good rounded profile between medium sized ears – the set looked better when viewing him from the front rather than the back! Lovely big open eyes. Nose just has a slight break but then continues into the correct downward slant. Level bite in square padded muzzle. Firm chin. His coat could be a fraction softer but it is of uniform length and is dense with no sparse areas and it stands out from the body. He still has a slightly less curled area down his centre back but on his chin, chest, tummy and legs there are random loose curls evident. He is a pretty colour and is well shown.

BRITISH BLACK/CHOCOLATE/LILAC TORTIE & WHITE NEUTER, FEMALE
BOB – STEEL’S GR CH & GR PR STEELAWAY SAMSARA – Black Tortie

BRITISH BLUE-CREAM NEUTER FEMALE
PC, BOB – NORRIS’ CH ANASTAN PEACHES ANDCREAM
23/08/04 Lovely big cobby female with a broad deep body of good shape, strong short legs with firm round paws and a medium length tail with rounded tip. Broad head with full cheeks. Ears are a fraction tall but have good width between. Super round copper eyes. Broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Lovely dense crisp coat of good length – the blue and cream are quite dark in shade but they are sound and very well mingled across the coat, including legs and paws. Lovely condition.

AC GR CH ORIENTAL ADULT MALE
IGCC – DAWE’S GR CH WESTGARTH FOOLSGOLD – Cinnamon self
23/03/08 He has good balance to his muscular frame and he stands well on long legs with oval paws. Long tapered tail balances. Good wedge with large well set ears following the lines well. Eyes could be a better shade of green – they varied from different angels and were slightly more hazel than green. Shape and set is good. Straight nose with slight bump in profile, level untidy bite, chin lines up. Short fine coat lies close to his body and has a good sheen. It has some slight brindling across the body and more on his tail but the colour is warm and sound. Nice temperament.
RES. IGCC – THOMPSON’S GR CH CLAERPENTON PIMPERNEL – Lilac self
23/03/07 Well grown male with a weighty muscular long body on long legs and oval paws. Tapered tail is of good length to balance. Medium wedge with jowls developing – his ears are of good size but they could do with a bit more width between to balance. Oriental shaped eyes of a good shade of green. Fairly straight profile, level untidy bite, firm chin. His coat is a little long and does not lie so close along his body as a result. The frosty grey could have a slightly more pinkish tone but the light in the hall has an orange tone which may have detracted from it – it is even across the coat, just fading a little at the roots. Good show temperament.

ORIENTAL TORTOISESHELL NEUTER FEMALE
BOB – LEE’S CH & UK IGR PR WILLHAVETODO OUIJA BOARD – Caramel Tortie
PC – MILLER’S CH PASHTAN ISHKABIBBLE – Chocolate Tortie
20/01/08  Elegant female with a long muscular body, long slim legs and neat oval paws. She has a lovely whip tail to balance. Medium wedge with large ears – they could be a fraction wider set for perfection. Green eyes of Oriental shape could just slant a little more towards her nose. Straight profile, level bite and firm chin. Short fine coat with a good sheen lies close to her body. The chocolate base colour is quite dark in shade but still has warmth and it is well mingled with shades of red. The colours are sound to the roots. Nice temperament.

ORIENTAL SMOKE NEUTER MALE
PC, BOB – STANBRIDGE’S PR GENTANTIQUE AVALON – Cinnamon Smoke
18/12/06  Large well grown male with rather a broad body for balance, good long legs and oval paws. Tail balances to body. Triangular wedge with large ears and green Oriental shaped eyes. Good profile, level bite and firm chin. His coat is fairly short and fine, just a little open in appearance, with excellent contrast between the near-white undercoat and the warm cinnamon brown. He was rather cranky so did not show himself well.

AC BRITISH OR SELKIRK REX JUNIOR NEUTER
1ST – GR POR CATELORO MUMBO JUMBO – Blue male
18/01/08  A super big lad with lovely bone and body shape. Good round British head with neat ears and large round expressive eyes. Lovely dense crisp coat of good length, the colour is even and sound and is a lovely medium shade of blue.
2ND – ASHFORD’S STONEMARR BUSTERBLUE – Blue
06/09/08 Another good example – broad deep and cobby on body, sturdy legs and rounded paws. Well rounded head with good width between neat ears. Round gold eyes, good profile and level bite. Dense crisp coat of sound medium blue. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Just a bit tetchy today.
3RD – WALKER’S PR AMAZOLOU THE NEW SCHMOO – Red Tipped Selkirk Rex
AC BRITISH OR SELKIRK REX SENIOR NEUTER
1ST LARCOMBE’S ADSETCH LALA LI-OON – Lilac female
13/03/07  One of the best Lilacs I have seen – she has a lovely balance and shape and is of a good size and weight. Lovely round head with neat ears and large deep gold eyes. Full cheeks. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Dense crisp coat is short, and the frosty grey has quite a good pinkish tone to it. The colour is even and sound. Lovely condition and temperament.
AV LOCAL ADULT
1ST – MORGAN’S ASTRALBLAESE ATALANTA – Chocolate Point Siamese female
22/03/08  Well grown with super wedge and well set ears of good size. Eyes are of clear blue – she just tended to screw them up which detracted from the shape and set. Slight dip to nose in profile, level bite and firm chin, she just has a slight muzzle pinch. Slightly long coat could be finer in texture. The ivory body colour has some tonal shading. Even chocolate points – quite a dark shade, and darker on the tail.
AV VISITORS ADULT
1ST - DAWE’S GR CH WESTGARTH FOOLSGOLD – Cinnamon self
2ND - MOORE’S AVONDALE GYPSEY-ROSE – Blue Spotted female
10/03/09 Medium framed adult with fairly good wedge. Ears could be bigger and wider set. Eyes are a fraction full in shape – clear green. Straight profile, level bite, shallow chin. Short fine coat the ground colour cool beige, but quite a cool shade. The pattern is quite a deep shade of blue. She has some reasonable spots and contrast along her sides but her back is solid blue down the central area.
3RD – SALVIDANT’S SHIMILEETA THINGCALLEDLOVE – Caramel Point Siamese female
AC ORIENTAL KITTEN – 14 WKS TO 6 MNTHS
1ST - CHIVERS’ KAOTICK KIZMET – Cream Spotted Tabby male
09/08/09 Very nice type to this kitten with triangular wedge and well set ears. Good profile and level bite, chin needs to firm. Short fine coat lies close to his body. The colour is debateable – it is too strong for Cream but a bit pale for Red. He has some spots along his sides but not enough to cover his body.
AC ORIENTAL KITTEN – 6-9 MNTHS
1ST SAUNDERS’ APRIKAT SCARLET RYBBONS – Red Tabby Longhair
13/05/09 Super kitten with good muscle tone and development. Nice balance to body, legs and oval paws. Good wedge with large ears following the lines. Oriental green eyes slant towards her nose. Good profile and level bite. She has a fine coat, the length still developing, but it lies along her body and shows the muscle. The colour is pale bright red with richer red pattern. Plume developing to her tail.
