Many thanks to Jackie and Elaine for the invitation to judge at the Wiltshire Cat Club Show and to the club for their hospitality. I had a most enjoyable day accompanied by my steward Janet Williams, many thanks I look forward to another time.
ORGINAL FOREIGN PREMIER MALE
1 GPC ARNOLD’S UK & IGR PR PAPAVER PROMETHEUS  33 31s  MN  7.9.04
Black Smoke and White Cornish Rex nearly six year old boy shown in excellent condition. Good medium wedge high cheek bones, head length about one third greater than the width, narrowing to a rounded muzzle, level bite and fair depth chin. Profile shows flat skull curving gently at brow and continuing virtually straight to tip, just showing a minimal dip at eye line.  Large ears set high on head, wide at base and tapering to rounded tips.  Pleasing expression to medium sized oval shaped eyes with top line set almost straight with slight slant to the outer edge of ear. Weighty, hard and muscular, medium length body with an elegant neck.  Good length, proportionate legs and oval paws.  Fine, tapering long tail well covered in wavy fur.  Coat is fairly short and dense with a silky texture and excellent wave overall.  Tight ripple on back, shoulders and sides. Very short lightly waved fur around the neck. Long slightly crinkled whiskers and short eyebrows. Lovely temperament.
RGPC WELLS’S PR CRYSTALTIPS GUY PIPPIN  23  MN  2.11.03
Huge, weighty, nearly seven year old mature boy with good muscle tone but the over rounded tummy just slightly spoilt his overall balance. Gently rounded contours to head and gently rounded from top of head to brow. Gently rounded, good width between the ears forming a moderate wedge which tapers to a slightly rounded muzzle, formed by a very slight indentation. Profile shows slight nose break then nose just rounds slightly rather than being straight to tip. Level bite and fair depth chin. Good large ears apricot in colour, much deeper in tone at the tips, well cupped and pricked and set wide apart, furry on inner edges, short black tufts at tips. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Good size to hazel coloured, expressive eyes set well apart, almond in shape and oriental in set. Strong, muscular body, straight back and rounded rib cage. Legs in proportion to body and small oval feet. Tail is thicker at base and tapers gently to tip and is of good length to balance body. Coat is fairly short, fine, dense in texture and close lying.  Usual Abyssinian of ruddy orange base colour and black ticking which is distinct having clear bands of colour. Slight grey overtones on flanks. Well defined black pigmentation lines from eye to top of head and pencil lines on cheeks. Pale hair around eyes and dark edge to eyelid. Cream chin and lips. Black ticking colour extending down spine and tail to a black tip and part way up the hocks. Faint broken necklaces.  Shy but gentle nature.
ORGINAL FOREIGN PREMIER FEMALE
1 GPC SMITH’S PR PHILOKALIA DEE MONIQUE  33a36  FN  8.11.07
Attractive nearly three year old Black Smoke Devon Rex lady with a nice ‘pixie’ look to her. Head has short, reasonably broad wedge with high cheek bones, strong muzzle, level bite and fair depth chin.  In profile brow curves back to flat skull, fairly good stop, nose a trifle long but straight. Well defined whisker break and nicely rounded muzzle.  Large ears are wide at base set low and wide apart tapering to rounded tips, well covered in fur and with short ear muffs around the bases and slight tufts at tips.  Large oval shaped, green eyes, set wide apart and sloping towards outer edges of ears.  Nicely balanced, dainty but deceptively weighty body with a good firm feel, medium in length, slender and with good breadth chest.  Slender neck.  Slim legs and neat oval paws.  Long, tapering tail well covered in wavy fur with a curl to the fur at the tip. Soft texture to fairly short, dense coat, even in length over body just a trifle longer on the spine line but with a good light wave overall.  Fur sparse around her shoulders and across the top of her head.  Crinkled eyebrows and whiskers. Sweet natured.
AOC MAINE COON KITTEN MALE
1 JENKIN & GAY’S CHEVYCOONS SUNDANCE  64 41dw  M  13.3.10
Excellent size and weight for his tender three months of age. Head is medium in length with breadth developing. I would like to see more breadth at cheek bones.  In profile there is a minimal dip rather than a shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge. Large ears with long feathering, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tips with minimal tufts. Round shape to golden coloured eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set but I would prefer them larger. Fairly square muzzle which I would like to see broader, slightly shallow chin and level bite. Long body with long, well boned legs and huge rounded paws to grow in to. Moderately long neck.  Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with long fur developing profuseness. Baby coat at present, soft and fluffy.  Red Tabby and White Maine Coon of apricot ground colour with a red classic pattern which is slightly diffused. Good facial markings. White to chin, bib, front paws, patch on tummy and back legs and paws. Lovely temperament but not surprisingly lacking balance at present.
AOC MAINE COON KITTEN FEMALE
1 & BOB LORD’S JAMCUSA PIMMS  64 41ew  F  1.3.10
Attractive four month old girl who is still developing. Medium length head with breadth still developing, fairly full cheeks and good cheek bones. Pleasing profile line with shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width.  Very large, tall ears, long feathering, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at long, tufted tips. Good size and shape to eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set, deep yellow in colour. Good square muzzle with a good depth chin and level bite. Good length body with breadth to chest developing, strong legs and very large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws.  Moderately long neck.  Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip with long fur developing. Fluffy kitten coat at present with undercoat starting to develop.  Tortie Tabby and White Maine Coon with a brightly coloured pattern overlaid with shades of red. White to chin, bib, front paws, tummy and back boots. Sweet natured.
2 WHITMARSH’S COONFLAKES CHARDONNAY  64 31es  F  7.10.09
Well grown and presented eight month old girl. Head is medium in length but I would like to see her develop a little more breadth to be slightly less than the length. Fairly full cheeks and good, high cheek bones. In profile rather too strong a curve rather than a shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge but nose of uniform width.  Tall ears, well feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tips with nice long tufts. Oval rather than round shape to eyes which gave them the appearance of being deep set and I would prefer them slightly larger. Good breadth to slightly rounded muzzle, level bite and fair depth, level chin. Large, long body, firm and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, well boned legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Good length tail, wider at base and tapering towards the tip and with long well developed, flowing fur. Good undercoat developing with more substantial glossy top coat of soft texture. Fur shorter on head, neck and shoulders and lengthening down back and flanks.  Some breeches and shaggy belly fur and good frontal ruff. Tortie Smoke and White Maine Coon with an excellent smoke effect only showing when the fur is parted. Deep tipping in black with shades of red. White to bib, front paws, centre of tummy and back boots. Sweet natured.

3 MILLAR’S HOBBERDY PLYMIST PEACHES   27j  F  14.3.07
Large three plus year old lady with a medium to longer body, long, shapely legs and largish oval paws. Good tail for length and shape to balance body. Coat is fairly short and close lying and of good texture. Fairly good width to gently rounded top of head between fairly well set and shaped ears of good size. I would have preferred her with a little more breadth to improve the ear set. Slight flattening to brow, fair nose break, nose a bit long but straight. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Pale yellow eyes of good size and shape set well apart. Head size to body length made her look slightly out of balance. Nice natured lady doing lots of paddling and purring.
