I was delighted to be invited to the Midland Cat Club's show in Limerick. As always, a warm welcome awaited us at the excellent venue of the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel, and I thank Carmel and the club's committee for inviting me. It was a very well supported show, with lots of visitors in the afternoon showing a great interest in the different breeds on show. Special thanks to Margaret Baker, who acted as my steward for the day, and worked hard throughout.

Black Silver Tabby & White Exotic SH

Just over two year's old, this boy has very good overall head and body type. Round, very well balanced head, small ears well placed on side of skull. Large orange eyes, snub nose, good brick leather. Round cheeks and good chin. Short thick neck, well muscled shoulders and rump. Cobby body with short well boned legs, short thick tail. Thick soft coat that was showing a good mackerel pattern, white moustache and white paws. Excellent condition and presentation.

Red Tabby Colourpointed Exotic SH

A very nice looking young cat of not quite 2 years. Good round head, well set ears, large round blue eyes, showing marked nystagmus when I judged him (my reason for withholding the Reserve ticket). Snub nose, good firm chin and good bite. Good cobby body shape, short well-boned legs and short thick tail. Very good mask and points of rich red with good tabby pattern. Body coat apricot white, just lacking some undercoat at present. I was sorry to withhold as he is nice example of the breed, and there are very few Colourpointed Exotics being shown.

CHINCHILLA ADULT MALE

1st, CC withheld Izydorczyk's Silverdreams Demetrie

Young boy, just old enough to be in the adult class. Round head, ears quite well set but open at the base. Round green eyes, nose rather too long, good brick leather, nice black lips, level bite. Excellent cobby body, well grown and with good boning. Full coat that needed just a little more preparation, but he is a Shaded Silver not a Chinchilla.

CHINCHILLA ADULT FEMALE

1st, CC withheld O'Regan's Tamosah High Definition

Pretty young girl. Very nice round head, well placed ears. Lovely large eyes of good colour, snub nose, good chin, bite undershot. Good cobby body, short legs and tail. Full frill to frame her face. Full coat, but she had large bald patches on each flank where coat had been removed and the pink skin was visible. This girl could easily be a winner, but she needed much more attention to coat maintenance, preparation and presentation - my reason for withholding the CC.

BLUE TORTIE & WHITE ADULT

1st, CC withheld O'Regan's Faralo Blacie Blue

Good round head, ears quite well placed a little open at the base. Round orange eyes, snub nose, full leather, bite just slightly undershot. Good cobby shape, short legs and tail. Patching slightly dark in tone. Quite full coat, but large bald patches on her flanks - again let down by her preparation. Sweet natured girl.

TABBY & WHITE ADULT MALE

1st, CC & BOB Sezina's Lafrabella Jethro - Brown Tabby & White

Good round head, well placed ears. Lovely eyes, large round and deep copper, snub nose. Good firm chin, bite fractionally undershot. Very cobby in shape with short thick legs, short full tail. Soft coat, just slightly woolly in texture, well prepared. Good spotted pattern to coloured areas, and a nice warm shade.

TABBY & WHITE ADULT FEMALE

1st & CC Sezina's Catscastle Olicia - Brown Tabby & White

Good round head, ears well set. Round eyes which I would prefer slightly larger, of good orange colour. Snub nose, good chin, bite a little undershot. Very cobby with good boning, short tail. Full soft coat showing a good classic pattern in the coloured areas, white whisker pads. Well prepared.

TABBY COLOURPOINT ADULT MALE

1st, CC withheld Kernaghan's Hinchkitz Beautifuldreamer - Seal Tabby

Very nice round, masculine head, well placed ears. Round blue eyes showing marked nystagmus when I judged him. Snub nose, pink leather, good chin, level bite. Very cobby with good boning and physique. Very good mask and points, well marked. Body coat shows toning shading.

GOLDEN ADULT FEMALE

1st, CC & BOB Izydorczyk's Gltzyglam Renesmee

Young girl of 10½ months. Nice round head, ears quite well placed a little open at the base. Round green eyes, short broad nose, quite nice round cheeks, good chin, bite fractionally undershot. Very cobby in shape, needs to body up a little but she is still very young. Coat of very good length and texture, warm apricot undercoat evenly shaded with seal brown, seal hocks. Short full tail. Very well prepared. Very nice outgoing confident temperament.

1st, CC & BOB McCarthy's Lisabel Romydawn - Black Female

Round head with well placed neat ears. Good round orange eyes, snub nose, nicely rounded cheeks, firm chin, bite a little undershot. Good cobby body shape, well boned short legs, short thick tail. Coat a fraction short and just a little shady at the roots today.

Good round head, ears well placed a little open at the base. Excellent eye shape and colour, round bold and deep orange. Short broad nose, good full leather, round cheeks, good chin. Cobby body shape, short legs and short thick tail. Very well marked coat with an excellent spotted pattern on a clear silver ground.

2nd Caughey's Hinchkitz Unforgetable - Brown Tabby

A nice mature male with a good round head, well placed ears. Round eyes, colour could be deeper. Snub nose, good round cheeks, firm chin and good bite. Very cobby in shape, short well boned legs, short thick tail. Excellent physique, very well muscled. Good necklaces to chest, well ringed legs. Classic pattern to body blurred by brindling. Well shown.

1st & CC McCarthy's Sheerbliss Hayleys Comet

Very good round head, ears well placed. Excellent eye shape and deep colour. Snub nose, good chin. Very cobby, short thick legs, short thick tail. Nice dense textured coat, well spotted on a clear silver ground. Nice friendly girl.

Blue & White Bi-Colour

Big, mature boy. Very good round, masculine head, broad top with well placed ears. Round, deep orange eyes. Short broad nose. Round full cheeks, firm chin and good bite. Excellent cobby body, short very well boned legs, large round paws. Short thick tail. Very good coat texture, thick and soft, standing away well from his body. White V to face, approximately one-third white to two-thirds colour. Medium blue tone to the coloured areas and very sound.

2nd Morris's Purrficgems Gio - Blue & White Bi-Colour

Young cat of 16 months. Nice round head, well set ears. Round orange eyes, snub nose, white chevron to face with blue leather, white chest and white to all limbs. Blue slightly dark in tone and shady at the base today. Good cobby shape, well boned legs, short thick tail. Nicely presented.

1st & CC Caughey's Hinchkitrz Secretobsession - Black Smoke

Young girl of 16 months. Good round head, well placed ears slightly open at the base. Round orange eyes, snub nose, round cheeks good chin and bite. Very cobby, short legs and tail. Thick, soft, dense coat showing excellent contrasts, just slight tabby markings still evident to chest, front legs and tip of tail. Lovely temperament.

2nd McCarthy's Lisabel Demelda - Tortie & White

Pretty 10 month old girl with a round head, well set ears. Round eyes that are currently pale in colour. Snub nose, good chin and bite. Round cheeks. Good cobby body, short legs and short thick tail. Coat a little harsh in texture. Quite well defined patches and with a good distribution of colour between the red and black.

AC TABBY & WHITE BI-COLOURED KITTEN

1st & BOB Sezina's Catscastle Primadonna - Tortie Tabby & White

Pretty girl with round head, well placed ears. Round orange eyes, snub nose, round cheeks, good chin and bite. Very cobby body shape, short legs and tail. Very full coat, very well prepared, showing a good distribution of colour and tabby markings to her head.

2nd Craig & Bell's Tufftybee Wendy - Blue Tortie Tabby & White

Good round head, well placed ears. Round eyes of good colour, short nose, round cheeks, bite very undershot and she was tongue tipping today. Cobby body, short legs and tail. Blue and cream patches to head and tail, currently showing little evidence of tabby markings except slightly lighter edges to her ears and light ears furnishings.

EXOTIC SH TABBY OR TABBY & WHITE NEUTER

1st, PC & BOB Morton's Sheerbliss Wacko Jacko - Silver Tabby & White

Round head, well placed ears, round eyes of good colour. Snub nose, good chin and bite. Very good body shape, short legs, short tail. Very soft textured coat of predominantly white with silver tabby patches to his head and body, showing both pattern and white to his tail.

Nice round head, well placed ears. Round blue eyes showing intermittent nystagmus. Round cheeks, good chin and bite. Very cobby, short well boned legs. Short thick tail. Good thick, dense soft coat, very well matched mask and points of good seal colour showing good tabby markings, fully ringed tail. Shading to body coat.

1st, PC & BOB Simpson's Hinchkitz Pennylane - Blue & White Bi-Colour

Round head with neat, well set ears. Eyes of good colour but rather deep set. White to whisker pads and all limbs. Thick soft coat of a rather dark shade of blue. Very well prepared.

A beautiful girl of almost 9 years of age with excellent head shape and ear size and set. Large lustrous eyes, super profile. Very good body shape, legs and tail. Silky, evenly ticked coat. Later went Overall Best in Show - congratulations!

EGYPTIAN MAU KITTEN

1st & BOB Frizelle's Acclaim Diva Fever - Silver

A super kitten with excellent head shape, well placed ears, eye colour currently verging on amber. Good nose length and width, good chin and level bite. Very good body shape, tail a fraction short. Excellent coat texture, colour and pattern.

1st, PC & BOB Macdonald & Quinn's CH Acclaim Cleopatra - Silver

A very nice girl of good type. Ears well set, eye shape is rather round rather than the desired "rounded almond", good green eye colour. Good nose length and leather. Nice long neck, body is a good shape, just carrying a little too much weight. Good silver ground, just some slight brindling to her spots.
