Mrs C Leighton

Many thanks to the show committee for the kind invitation to judge at this friendly breed show once again.  It was nice to see a good number of British cats exhibited and looking at their peak at this time of the year. Many thanks to Corinne Ash and Stephen McConnell for their assistance today.

AC BRITISH GRAND CHAMPION, MALE
IGR CH Potter's GR CH PAMPURRED PABLO HONEY (31f) 20.4.06 M A large impressive mature boy in very good condition and with a pleasing personality. Lovely fully rounded head with well set neat ears showing good width between them.  Large round eyes which have retained their deep golden colour very well. Good broad straight nose with lovely rounded mature cheeks. Nice solid muzzle lines, a good chin and nice level bite. Balanced muscular body of good proportions with deep chest and flanks and good solid thick-set limbs. His coat was in very good condition and was an acceptable length with a nice crisp texture. His colour divisions were just one third white to cream and he does show completely clear white font legs and chest, which I do like to see. The cream was an even colour and was only showing feint spotted markings on his flanks. Nice length rounded tipped tail of matching cream with some rings evident.

AC BRITISH GRAND CHAMPION, FEMALE
IGR CH McEwen's GR CH BARRATINI PEARL N LACE (39) 20.8.05 F A very sweet attractive lady who is still sparkling even though she is not a youngster any longer. Lovely rounded head with super neat small ears and a good top of head. Large round outlined eyes of an excellent vibrant green with a very nice neat short nose with an attractive brick leather.  Good full mature cheeks and quite strong muzzle with a nice chin and good level bite. Small but well proportioned body showing good muscle tone for a female and of a good weight overall. Nice neat short legs and neat rounded paws. Her coat is a little long for perfection but it is had a lovely sparkle to it and was lightly tipped with even black tipping on her torso and only showed very feint ghost rings on her tail which was a good length and showed a rounded tip. Very well shown today.
Res IGR CH Marsland-Round's GR CH CATBALU CANDY-CRISP (21b) 7.9.06 F Rather a small girl for her age but of good chunky overall appearance and all in proportion. Nice mature rounded head with well placed neat ears. Large round eyes which have paled a little for colour now but were still a golden colour. Good short straight nose and nicely rounded cheeks and muzzle lines with a good chin and nice level bite.  Small solid little body of very good weight with very nice short stocky limbs and a well balanced rounded tail. Her coat was a nice length and texture but was showing some scurfy areas on her back today, which was a pity. It has a very nice pattern of chocolate and shades of red and was well mingled throughout, showing no patches of any colour. All feet broken and a nicely mingled tail. Handled well today.

BLUE/LILAC/FAWN TORTIE AND WHITE ADULT
1 CC BOB Whiteley's ADMIRARI TRILOGY (22a) 25.5.10 A very young girl but showing a lot of promise as he has lovely type and conformation overall. Lovely rounded head with neat well set ears and large round expressive eyes of a super copper colour.  Good short straight nose with cheeks filling out very well for her age. Nice strong rounded muzzle with a good chin and level bite. Small but compact body of a nice weight and all in proportion with good short thick-set limbs and a nice balanced tail. Her coat is a little long and still showing adolescent softness in texture but she has lovely clear sparkling white areas to her legs chest and underside. Her patches of blue and shades of cream were better on one side than the other which was a pity but overall I found her a delightful exhibit.
2 Hollandt's CH MIBAYBESE TAMARA (22a) 20.5.06 F A much older more mature female showing very good maturity overall. Nicely rounded head though her ears were a little large for balance today. Large round eyes which were a nice golden colour with a good straight nose and well filled cheeks.  Nice chin and level bite. Large body of good weight and proportion with deep chest and flanks and nice sturdy limbs. Her coat was not in the best condition today and was rather sparse and lacking in texture overall. The white areas were reasonably clean but the patches of blue and shades of cream were nor very clear today and were very muddled and mingled in places. Also showed some silvered tipping in the blue today and overall I would say it was not her time of the year.

BI-COLOURED ADULT, MALE
1 CC BOB  Potter's GR CH PAMPURRED PABLO HONEY (31f) 20.4.06 M See Imperial Class

SMOKE KITTEN, MALE
1 BOB Kempsell's CYNDAERIN MURCHADH-DUBH 14.6.10 M A very friendly  amenable young man who was enjoying his day out. Head needs more development and balance as yet and he needs to grown into his rather large ears as yet. Large round eyes which were an acceptable dark hazel colour, with a good short straight nose. Cheeks and muzzle need to fill more but he has a good level bite. Standing rather tall and long in the body at present he has a lot of growing to do as yet. His coat was a nice length but lying rather flat and need more undercoat generally.  It had a good dense black top  coat and showed an excellent contrasting clear white undercoat to all parts. Some ghost tabby markings still evident in some places on his torso and feint facial markings but he is very young as yet so hopefully they will clear as he matures more.

BRITISH BLUE NEUTER
1 PC BOB Whitty's JOCOCA WOLF WHISTLE (12.6.07) MN  A lovely friendly boy  who has equally striking looks. Lovely full rounded head with neat ears and very good width between them. Large round eyes of a very nice copper colour with a slightly short but broad nose of good balance. Lovely rounded cheeks and good strong muzzle lines with a very nice firm chin and good level bite. Lovely weighty four-square chunky body with deep chest and flanks and excellent short stocky limbs. His coat was an excellent length and texture which was short and crisp with a nice thick undercoat. It was a lovely even medium shade of blue and was sound to the roots throughout. Good length rounded tipped tail which balanced well. Lovely temperament and very well presented.

BRITISH CREAM NEUTER
1 PC BOB Willis' CRYSTALMIST TISSIAN-TIGER (17.7.09) MN Rather an adolescent looking boy at present this lad is out of balance generally. Ears still a little large and flared at the base and his large round eyes are a somewhat pale golden colour. His nose is a little too long for balance but is good and straight, He needs more cheeks and muzzle generally but he has a good level bite. Standing tall on his legs and rather long in the body he has a large frame to fill and may need more time to gain sufficient  muscle tone.  Hid coat was a nice length an texture but was rather unsound in places and was also a rather hot shade of cream for my preference. It also showed some heavy ghost tabby markings in places to his torso and some rings to his good length rounded tipped tail. He just won me over for the certificate today and he had a very nice friendly temperament.
