Many thanks to Anna and the Committee for inviting me to Judge, and to Terry Blake for coming all the way from Leicestershire to steward for me. Congratulations to the Club on such a successful 3rd Sanction Show.
AC Asian Burmilla Adult: 1 BOB LADY BRUCE-GARDNER’S CH FRILFORD SILVER FILIGREE, 72 43sq, stylish girl, with a short wedge, distinct break and level chin. Lovely eye set & shape; excellent ear set and rounded top of head. Muscular body, balancing legs and tail. Coat is superb – short, close-lying and satin in texture, with good brown shading on a silver undercoat. I was delighted that she later went on to become Best Overall Exhibit; 2 ROBINSON’S CH KARESAMA SILVER SEASHADOW, 72 43sq, gentle girl, with a short wedge, distinct break, slightly shallow but level chin. Eyes very good set and shape, a pale green-blue colour; lovely ear set and gently rounded top of head. Very good, balanced body, legs and tail. Coat is just a touch long, but close-lying and satin in texture, with good brown shading on a silver undercoat 3 LOVELL’S HOBBERDY WHITE NILE, 72 43hsq, just starting to call! Short wedge, distinct break, level chin. Eyes lovely set and shape; excellent ear set and gently rounded top of head. Good body, legs and tail. Coat is a bit too long, rather open and moulting at present, but has good chocolate and red shading on a silver undercoat; 4 AGUS’ INYANGA CHINA-TREE, 72 43asq, sweet-tempered girl, with a short wedge, very good break, level chin. Eyes excellent set and shape; lovely ear set and gently rounded top of head. Muscular body, legs a little heavily-boned, tail is a tad short to balance and has an invisible end defect. Coat is a little long and thick in texture, blue shading on a silver undercoat, looking a little creamy-toned on her feet.
Tabby Adult Male: 1 DAVIES’ CH MALBRANT XAVIER, 72 45q, Spring is obviously in the air, as this boy was obviously thinking of things other than showing! Short wedge, rather curved nose lacks a defined break, level chin. Lovely eye set and shape; excellent ear set and gently rounded top of head. Lacking weight on his loins at present, he has good legs and tail. Coat is short and fairly close-lying, with rather grey roots and dark brown ticking – I’d prefer a warmer overall appearance.
Female: 1 BOB PILKINGTON’S CH GARES OYSTERCATCHER, 72 45q, short wedge, distinct nose break, nose is just slightly too long in profile and chin could be deeper. Eyes excellent set and shape; lovely ear set and gently rounded top of head. Very good, balanced body, legs and tail. Coat has super texture – short, close-lying and glossy – well ticked with dark brown a cool-toned, paler base; 2 LOVELL’S CH KENNBURY AMENARTAS , 72 45bq, sweet-tempered girl, with a short wedge, distinct break, level chin. Lovely eye set and shape; excellent ear set and gently rounded top of head. Good body and legs, tail is a little thin to balance. Eyes excellent set and shape; lovely ear set and gently rounded top of head. Good body, legs and tail. Correct eye shape and set; very good ear set and rounded top of head. Balanced but rather heavy-boned body, legs and tail. Coat of medium length, well prepared, the ruff developing nicely. Good red colour coat, some white around the chin area.
SH Breeders Kitten: 1 LAWRENCE’S LAWRENCO WOODLANDS ZIVA, 72 45q, female. Short blunt wedge, only a ski-slope break at present, level chin. Excellent eye set and shape; lovely ear set and gently rounded top of head. Very good body, legs and tail. Coat super texture, with good brown ticking on a paler ground; 2 ROBINSON’S KARESAMA SILVER SEAPEARL, 72 43as, sweet-tempered purring girl, with a short wedge, very good nose break, level chin. Lovely ear set and gently rounded top of head; excellent eye shape and set. Good body, legs and tail. Coat is a little long on her spine, with nice shading on her sides, but quite a lot of ticking in the hair on her back, good blue with silver undercoat, some tarnish on her nose; 3 LADY BRUCE-GARDNER’S FRILFORD PATINEUSE, 72 43bq, Good short wedge, ski-slope nose break at present, level chin. Huge eyes of correct set and shape; very good ear set and rounded top of head. Slightly small for her age, but well balanced body, legs and tail. Open Classes
Asian Smoke/Burmilla Kitten 1 & BOB WILLIAMS & PALLET'S KENNBURY GLIMPEOFSHE (72 43aq) female 5 months 2 weeks Stylish and confident young lady of overall very good type. Head forms a short wide wedge with good width at cheeks and jaw hinge tapering to a blunt finish at muzzle. Gentle rounding to top between medium large ears of good shape set well apart. These are broad at their base with rounded tips and slight forward tilt. In profile there is good depth to head with a slight curve to brow leading to a quite good break. Nose is short almost straight just a very slight roll off at the tip. Bite is level with a firm chin of good depth in line to nose tip. Large lustrous pale green eyes are set well apart and of good shape with the top lid forming a slight curve slanting towards the nose and the lower lid more rounded leading to a very good Burmese expression. Firm weighty body, well developed for age with proportionate shapely slender limbs, small oval paws, straight back and well shaped tail with rounded tip just to shoulder. Short shiny coat is of fine silky texture and lies closely to the body. Medium mantle of soft silver grey/blue is clear and evenly distributed across the body shading to a lighter colour at the lower sides and chest. Slightly more intense colour down the spine line to a coloured tail tip and up the hocks. Undercoat is a very pale cool beige extending approximately half way up the hair shaft. Some soft pretty markings to the extremities including a smudgy scarab. Overall a delightful kitten - congratulations on your BIS. 2 LOVELL'S MALBRANT BALHKASH (72 43bsq) female 4 months A further quality kitten very pretty, alert and interested in her surroundings. Head shows a slight teething pinch to a short wedge with good width at the cheeks tapering to a blunt muzzle. Gentle rounding to top between well set broad based ears of good shape. These are at present rather large (to grow into) with neat rounded tips and tilting forward. In profile head shows good depth with a slight curve to brow leading to a fairly well defined break. Nose is short and straight with a level bite and firm deep chin. Moderately large eyes set well apart of good shape with upper lid slanting to the nose and the lower lid rounder and fuller giving her a good Burmese expression. Colour is at present a muddy yellow. Firm well developed body nicely muscled with good weight and substance with level back and proportionate slender limbs. Small dainty oval paws and tapering tail with rounded tip just to the shoulder. Beautifully sleek fine textured coat of good short length gleaming with health. Light mantle of pale milky chocolate shading is clear and even over the body with slight intensity of colour down the spine to a matching coloured tail tip. Pale silvery undercoat extends about half way up the hair shaft. One very faint broken necklace with a smudgy scarab to the head and other light markings to the extremities. Comfortably presented. 3 ROBINSON'S KARESEMA SILVER SEAPEARL (72 43as) female 6 months Attractive lass of overall good type and well developed. Head has a short wide wedge with good width at jaw hinge and cheeks tapered to a blunt muzzle. Gentle rounding to top between large shapely ears with rounded tips and slight forward tilt, broad at base and set well apart. In profile there is good depth to the head with a slight curve to a quite good break. Nose fairly short just a hint of a bump to the surface. Level bite and firm deep chin in line to nose tip. Yellow eyes are large of good shape and set well apart. The upper lid has a good slant to the nose with a fuller lower lid giving a good Burmese expression. Long slender well-filled body is firmly muscled and of good weight. Level back proportionate slim limbs with neat oval paws and balancing length of well shaped tail with rounded tip. Soft fine textured coat is close lying to the body and of good short length. Medium mantle of slightly dark blue is clear and evenly distributed across the body shading to a fractionally lighter colour at the sides. Very slight more intensity of colour down the spine to a coloured tail tip. Silver under coat extends approximately half way up the hair shaft to the sides, a little less to the spine. Unfortunately there is noticeable tarnishing across the nose and paws. Two faint broken necklaces are also tarnished. Lovely condition and excellent manners. 4 BRUCE-GARDNER'S FRILFORD PATINEUSE (72 43bq) female 8 months 2 weeks Attractive girl nearing adulthood but as yet a little on the small side a touch lean. Head shows a moderately short wedge quite wide at the cheeks tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Gentle rounding to top with good width between large well set broad based ears. Nice forward tilt but the tips are a touch pointed than rounded. In profile the head has quite good depth with a slight curve to the brow leading to a fair break. Nose is straight but fractionally long with a level bite, chin shallow but in line to the tip if the nose. Large lustrous eyes of greenish yellow are set well apart. Nicely shaped rounded lower lid but the upper lid is a touch straight and could have a more defined slant to the nose. Long slender adolescent body she needs to fill out and I would prefer that she had a little more weight and substance at this stage of growth. Proportionate slim elegant limbs and neat oval paws with balancing length of well shaped tail with rounded tip. Coat is sleek and shiny, short and fine in texture. Light mantle of pale milky chocolate evenly distributed across the body shading gradually to the pale brown ground colour at the lower sides and chest. Slightly more intensity of colour extending down the spine to the tail tip. Very faint "M" to the head, a broken necklace and some further light markings to the extremities. Excellent presentation.
AC Asian Self or Tortie Kitten 1 & BOB DAVIS' TRUMARK DARKSTAR JET (72) male 4 months Handsome little fellow moderately short wedge needing a little more width at the cheeks but tapering nicely to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Gentle rounding to top between well shaped set somewhat mobile ears that he tends to bonnet then hold a tad high and then he places them correctly! Nicely rounded tips and when they are still - a slight forward tilt. In profile the head has good depth with quite a strong curve to the brow leading to a good break. Slight bump and roll off to fairly short nose with a good level bite and firm chin in line to nose tip. Eyes set well apart a touch small in size of a dark yellow at present slightly muddy in tone. Shape quite good with top lid forming a slight curve slanting towards the nose and the lower lid more rounded. Compact body of good size and development for age, firmly muscled and good weight with level back. Proportionate slim legs, neat oval paws and a well shaped tapering tail with rounded tip a little short to the shoulder. Coat is a little long but fine and soft textured lying well to the body. Shiny jet black well coloured to the roots but there are some scattered white hairs around the neck and down the front of the chest but nowhere else. Beautifully prepared and presented a little overawed at what is probably his first show.

OPEN CLASSES
A.C.ASIAN TABBY KITTEN, FEMALE. 3 entered, 1 absent. 1 & BOB LAWRENCE’S LAWRENCO WOODLANDS ZIVA (72 45q) Brown Ticked Tabby. F. 14.8.08. Shy young lady who preferred the safety of her pen today. Body of reasonable size for age though for preference I would have liked her to be a little larger. Chest is gently rounded, straight back and slender legs ending in neat oval shaped paws. Tail of good shape though just a touch short to balance. Head has a very nice short wide wedge tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Top of head is gently rounded. Ears are medium/large in size, broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and in profile have the correct slight forward tilt. When viewed from the front they follow the outline of the wedge giving rise to a butterfly effect. The nose break when viewed in profile could do with a little more definition. Nose is straight and chin is level and of good depth. Eyes are a greenish chartreuse in colour and are large and lustrous with the correct shape and set with the upper line having a slight slant and the lower line being more gently rounded giving rise to a very nice Asian expression. Coat is short and close lying with a very nice texture. Colour is a warm seal brown over a creamy beige ground. Nice, even distinct ticking with clear bands of colour extending well down each hair shaft across the body. Colour more intense down the spine line with rings on the tail and a solid tip of colour at the end of the tail. Presented in very good condition and although shy, handled well.
2 ROBERTSHAW’S SHADOWS WINTERS EVE (72 45s) Black Silver Shaded Ticked Tabby. F. 17.10.08. What a wriggly girl today! Body of good size for age with a gently rounded chest, straight back and slender legs ending in neat oval shaped paws. Head has a short wide wedge and in profile shows a moderate nose break. Nose is straight but a touch long. Chin is level. Ears are large in size and rather broad at the base but gently rounded at the tips. In profile, the ears being rather large in size give a rather exaggerated forward tilt when viewed from the side making the head appear a little unbalanced. Eyes are chartreuse in colour and have the correct shape and set with the upper line having a slight slant and the lower line being more gently rounded. Coat is slightly long and could have benefitted from being more close lying. Colour is jet black with a silver undercoat. Although I could see some ticking present it was not present in the majority of the coat overall. As this was a kitten I did give her the benefit of the doubt but would be very interested to see how the coat develop. Presented in good condition and although a bit of a wriggler, was relatively easy to handle.
AOC TIFFANIE KITTEN. 1 entered. 1 & BOB HAMILTON’S INYANGA CLARINDA (68 43q) Brown Standard Shaded Tiffanie. F. 30.10.08. Very pretty young lady. Of good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Gently rounded chest and straight back. Legs are medium slender though for preference I would prefer them to be a touch longer for her body. Neat oval paws. Tail of good shape and length. Head has a very nice short wide wedge with good width across the cheeks and ending in a blunt shaped muzzle. Top of head is gently rounded with medium/ large ears set well apart. The ears are broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and with very nice ear furnishings. In profile they have the correct slight forward tilt. Also when viewed in profile there is a very good nose break, straight nose and level chin of good depth. Very expressive large and lustrous eyes which are a greenish chartreuse in colour. The eye shape shows the lower line being gently rounded and the upper line has a very slight slant-for preference I would have preferred a touch more slant. Very nice expression. Beautiful coat which is medium long in length and a very nice fine, silky texture. The coat lengthens down the spine forming frills along the lower edges of the body. The tail had a lovely plume. Full ruff and breeches yet to develop. Colour is a mantle of warmish brown paling to a creamy beige at the roots. Colour more intense down the tail and on the hocks of the legs, slight smudges on the limbs. Darker scarab on the forehead, slight necklace and attractive facial markings. Presented in excellent condition and gentle and easy to handle.

Body of good weight for size, gently rounded chest, straight back and slender legs ending in neat oval shaped paws. Tail of good length and shape ending in a paintbrush tip. Head has a nice short wide wedge, good width at the cheeks and tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Top of head is gently rounded with medium sized ears set well apart. The ears are broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and in profile have a slightly forward tilt. Also when viewed in profile there is a reasonably good nose break and straight nose. 3 ROBINSON’S CH KARESAMA SILVER SEASHADOW (72 43sq) Brown Silver Shaded Burmilla. F.1.9.05.
AV NEUTER BORN JANUARY TO APRIL. 4 entered. 1 TIBBOTT’S PR KENNBURY SEA-FARIE (72 45eq) Brown Tortie Ticked Tabby. FN. 10.4.07. Not a happy girl and rather reluctant to be judged and only very slightly more relaxed when back in her pen. Body of good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Chest is gently rounded, straight back and slender legs ending in neat oval shaped paws. Tail of good shape ending in a paintbrush tip and just slightly short to balance. Head has a short wide wedge with good width at the cheeks and tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Ears are medium in size, broad at the base and gently rounded at the tips. It was difficult to assess if they had the desired slight forward tilt when viewed in profile as she would insist in holding them slightly down due to her mood. In profile she had a good nose break, straight nose just rolling off very slightly at the tip and level chin which for perfection needed a touch more depth. Eyes are very expressive, large and lustrous in size and a very pale greenish chartreuse in colour, of the correct shape and set with the upper line having a slight slant and the lower line being more gently rounded giving rise today to a rather withering expression! This girl can really glare! Very nice coat of good texture which is short and close lying with very even ticking with clear bands of colour of warm seal brown with some pale tangerine shades over an undercoat of pale beige which occasionally appeared a slightly greyish in tone. Colour more intense down the spine line with a solid tip of colour at the tip of the tail. Presented in very good condition, an attractive girl but unfortunately not at all easy to handle and judge.
2 WAIN & BROWN’S SHADOWS MISHTI (72 42) Black Smoke. FN. 5.1.06. Again not a happy lady who had a great deal to say about her neighbours! Body of good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Chest is gently rounded, straight back and slender legs ending in neat oval shaped paws. Tail of good shape ending in a paintbrush tip and just balances for length. Head has a short wide wedge, good width across the cheeks and tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Top of head is very gently rounded. Ears are medium/ large in size, broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and in profile have the slight forward tilt. Also when viewed in profile there is a moderate nose break, straight nose just rolling off at the tip and level chin which just needs a touch more depth for perfection. Eyes are chartreuse in colour, of the correct shape and set with the top line having a slight slant and the lower line being more gently rounded. Coat is short and close lying and a dark brownish black with an undercoat of near white just over one third of the total hair length. Just a sprinkling of dandruff around the lower back. Lost out to the winner who was more balanced overall and in particular had a better profile.
3 ALLEN’S ADATESH SILVERY-MIST (72 43bsq) BCR Chocolate Silver Shaded Burmilla. MN. 3.2.08.
AV NEUTER BORN MAY TO AUGUST. 1 entered. 1 WAIN & BROWN’S STRIPEYCATS CHUHA (72a) Blue Self. MN. 23.5.08. A shy lad who preferred the safety of his pen. Body of very good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Chest is gently rounded, straight back and slender legs ending in medium/ large oval shaped paws. Tail of good length and shape ending in a paintbrush tip. Head has a rather long wedge lacking width at the cheeks and having a rather square shaped muzzle. Top of head is very gently rounded with generous sized ears set well apart. Ears are of good shape and set being broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and in profile have the correct slight forward tilt. In profile there is a moderate nose break, nose is slightly long and chin recedes and lacks some depth. Eyes are a darkish gold in colour, slightly round in shape and could benefit from being larger in size. Coat is short and close lying and a medium to dark pewter like blue sound to the roots. AV NEUTER BORN SEPTEMBER TO DECEMBER. 4 entered. 1 ROBERTSHAW’S CH SHADOWS SWEETHEART LILY (72 43sq) Brown Silver Shaded Burmilla. FN. 21.9.06. Body of good weight for size. Gently rounded chest straight back and slender paws ending in neat oval shaped paws. Tail of good length and shape ending in a paintbrush shaped tip. Head has a short wide wedge. Top of head is gently rounded with medium sized ears set well apart. The ears are broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and in profile have the desired slight forward tilt. Also in profile there is a moderate nose break, straight nose and level chin. Very pale chartreuse coloured eyes which are large and lustrous with the correct shape and set with the upper line having a slight slant and the lower line being more gently rounded. Coat short and close lying. This girl was down in my Judge’s book as a Brown Silver Shaded Burmilla however I had grave difficulties with this description as in my opinion she did not appear to have the required rich warm seal brown mantle. I was therefore just about to wrong colour her when the show manager informed me that her owner had corrected the description on the entry form and that it should be 72 43pq making her a BCR Caramel Tortie. This I felt was much more appropriate as her coat was more of a cool toned brownish grey with a honey overtone with very definite tortie shades of intensive pinkish cream and tortie markings on her paw pads. Colour more intense down the spine line, complex scarab. Presented in good condition and easy to handle.
2 EK’S KARESAMA SILVER SEAMERCURY (72 43nsq) BCR Caramel Silver Shaded Burmilla. MN. 1.11.07. Rather a cross lad today. Body of good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Head has a reasonable short wide wedge tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Top of head is gently rounded with medium sized ears set well apart. Ears are broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and in profile have the desired slight forward tilt. Also in profile there is a good nose break, nose is a touch long with just a slight bump. Level chin. Eyes are a pale greenish chartreuse just slightly deep set. Very nice short and close lying coat of good texture. Colour is a rather cool toned brownish grey but with a metallic sheen evident across the head and with a pristine silver undercoat. Presented in good condition but not the easiest to handle today. Just lost out to the winner who had the better overall head.

Top of head is gently rounded with generous sized ears set well apart. The ears are broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and in profile have the desired slight forward tilt.
