Mrs D Butters

A very well organised show with a relaxed and happy atmosphere, my congratulations and many thanks to Celia, Paula, Len and the committee for inviting me back. We had some lovely cats and a really nice day. My thanks to husband Steve for stewarding yet again.

BLUE COLOURPOINTED/MITTED (INC AOC DILUTE) ADULT MALE
CC, MARJASON’S WERMARBEARS PRINCECHARMING, 66a, 07.11.07
Blue Colourpointed. Only just fourteen months old and already showing lovely size, substance and balance. Large broad head, flat plane between ears of medium size which were set wide and with a slightly forward tilt. Cheeks already well developed and nicely filled. Well defined muzzle, good length and rounded shape. Large, mid-blue eyes, set in a slight oblique setting. Gentle dip to the medium length nose. Firm chin, level bite. Long body, very muscular and weight, broad chest, substantial bone structure to medium length limbs, large round feet. Very well furnished tail, just reaching the shoulders. Dense coat of medium length with a very silky feel to it. Full ruff framing the face, well developed knickerbockers. Medium shade of greyish blue to the mask, ears, limbs and tail, all similar in depth and showing very good contrast with the bluish white body colour. Slight darker blue top shading over the back, paler underbody though he does have some darker blue patches in the tummy area. He was a little nervous, though more confident in his pen. Beautifully presented.
2ND GRIFFITHS & SCOTT’S MARGELITE APPLEJAQUE, 66a, 01.07.98
Blue Colourpointed. A really large and mature boy with a very strong, broad masculine head.  Wide set ears, of medium size, set with a slightly forward tilt. Large expressive eyes, quite a deep shade of blue, set in a good slight oblique set.  Well filled cheeks, very pleasing nasal profile showing a gentle dip to the medium length nose.  Rounded shape to the muzzle, firm chin. He does have some smaller teeth missing, though at eleven years old this is totally forgivable, level bite. Really long, heavy body, very good breadth to chest.  Medium length legs which were nicely boned, large round feet.  Ideally I would have liked his tail a fraction longer though it was quite well furnished with a bushy texture.  Currently in full winter coat with well grown knickerbockers and a full ruff around the neck. Dense coat of medium length to the body, a little open today, which was one of the reasons for his placing in this class. Well-defined points, quite a deep shade of greyish blue, contrast with the bluish white body.  Some darker blue shading evident over the back and sides of the body.  He had a wonderful temperament and was a dream to handle.

BLUE COLOURPOINTED/MITTED (INC AOC DILUTE) ADULT FEMALE
There were eight cats entered in this class, six present. The two unplaced cats were worthy of a placing though I could only place to fourth. However, in this class I felt that they deserved a report as they were both nice females.
BOB, GRIFFITHS & SCOTT’S GR CH RAGATASIA PEACHESAND CREAM, 66g, 16.04.05
Blue Tortie Colourpointed. A very substantial female indeed, with a strong broad head, well developed cheeks and a rounded muzzle.  Medium-sized ears, in balance with the rest of the head, set well apart with a flat plane between them.  Very expressive eyes, medium to deep blue in colour and set well in a good slight oblique.  Nose had a gentle dip and was medium in length. Good firm deep chin.  Level bite.  Very weighty female with a long muscular body, broad chest and excellent boning to medium length limbs, large round paws.  Very well-balanced tail, reaching the shoulders and well furnished with a bushy texture.  Very nice coat qualities all round, ruff framing the face, medium length coat, dense and silky over the body, full knickerbockers. Very well developed points, all showing a well mingled mixture of blue and cream, contrasting with the body colours which were a mix of bluish white and creamy white.  Wonderful temperament and shown in excellent condition.  I see now that she is the daughter of my second placed cat in the previous class and she has certainly inherited some of his size and head strength.
CC, MORRIS’S MONTANTE PURDY, 66aw, 12.07.07
Blue Mitted. A promising young lady of 18 months old, already showing a strong broad feminine head.  Medium-sized ears, set wide apart on the head with a clear flat plane between them.  The ears were set with a slightly forward tilt.  Beautiful eyes, large and very expressive, deep blue in colour.  Well developed full cheeks, good rounded shape to the well defined muzzle.  Very nice nasal profile, gentle dip present. Nose was medium in length.  Deep chin, quite firm, just rounding off a touch at the end.  Level bite.  Good long muscular body, nice weight for size and age.  Bushy tail, reaching the shoulders and balancing the body very well indeed.  Nicely grown ruff and knickerbockers.  Coat length developing over the body, dense texture and it was silky to the touch.  Medium to dark tone to the greyish blue points which were quite even all round, some blue top shading to the back of the body though generally the coat was bluish white in colour.  Well marked mitted pattern with white from the chin, going along the entire length of the underbody.  Nicely marked mittens to the front feet with back legs white to above the hocks. Beautifully presented and shown in lovely condition.
2ND SUMMERLEY’S SNOANDA SENTIMENTAL BLUES, 66aw, 04.10.06
Blue Mitted. A nicely balanced female with good breadth to the head and medium-sized ears, sitting well apart. Mid-blue eyes, large in size and set in a good slight oblique.   Well filled cheeks, good definition to the rounded muzzle.  Level bite, chin quite firm and good depth.  Long body, in balance with the head.  Medium length limbs which were nicely boned, round feet.  Very well furnished bushy tail, reaching the shoulders.  Ruff length developing, medium length coat to the body, very silky feel to it, quite full knickerbockers.  True full coat length yet to develop as she is an adolescent.  White chin, bib, chest and along the entire length of the underbody.  A little shy, though easy to handle.  Well presented.
3RD ADAMS’ HAZELDOLLS BUTTERFLY BLUE, 66atw, 08.04.08
Blue Tabby Mitted. The youngest in the class, being only just nine months old and this girl has many positive attributes, as well as a very pretty expression.  In particular, I thought she had very nice size and substance for her age with a long body showing excellent muscle tone.  Head already showing good breadth, cheeks filling out nicely and very well-defined rounded muzzle.  Ears were sitting wide apart, flat plane between them, at the moment they are little on the large side, as to be expected at this stage.  Mid-blue colour to the eyes, which were large in size though perhaps marginally too obliquely set.  Nose of good medium length with a dip present.  Level bite, firm chin.  Long body of excellent weight, very good boning to medium length limbs, and large round paws.  Very well-balanced tail, easily reaching the shoulders and exhibiting plenty of furnishings with a bushy texture.  Points had blue tabby markings on a pale beige agouti, they were well developed and showed very good contrast with the bluish white body colour.  Very silky coat of medium length to the body, nice length to knickerbockers, ruff length developing.  Well marked mitted pattern all round. Lovely to handle and very well groomed.
4TH EDMUNDS’ ECALPHARAS MARTINI, 66g, 23.06.07
Blue Tortie Colourpointed. Medium-sized ears, set wide apart with a very good flat plane to the top of head. Head showed very good breadth indeed, and in comparison I would like her nose marginally longer so that the bottom section of head truly balances that wonderful top section.  Gorgeous deep blue eyes, quite large and very expressive. Well developed cheeks, rounded muzzle. Level bite, firm chin.  Weighty body, muscular and long, broad chest.  Well boned limbs, medium in length and balancing the body.  Round paws. Nicely furnished bushy tail, reaching the shoulders.  Very well-defined points, all exhibiting both shades of blue and cream. Points contrasted well the body colour which was a mixture of creamy white and bluish white.  Some darker blue top shading evident over the shoulders and back.  Dense coat of medium length, with a nicely developed ruff and knickerbockers.  Easy to handle and well presented.
UNPLACED – SHOREHAM’S LUVUMCATS LOVEINTHELIST, 66at, 11.07.07
Blue Tabby Colourpointed. A pretty female with a very sweet expression.  Medium-sized ears sitting wide apart with quite a flat plane between them.  Large mid-blue eyes.  Very good nasal profile though I felt that her nose length was marginally short, and for me this detracted from the overall balance today.  Well developed cheeks, rounded muzzle - though again this was a little on the short side.  Nice length to the body with good boning to limbs.  Tail of good length though lacking in furnishings at the moment.  Full winter coat to the body, slightly open today which I put down to her hormonal status.  Well-defined blue tabby points showing good contrast with the bluish white body colour.  Nice to handle.
UNPLACED – STERIO’S SHAMANTA BLUE LIGHTENING, 66at, 03.10.07
Blue Tabby Colourpointed. This 13 month old female is going through that difficult rangy stage at the moment, a typical adolescent.  Ears are little on the large side of medium though they should balance well once she obtains her full adult head breadth.  Fairly broad head with a good flat plane to the top.  Pale blue eyes, good large size and set slightly obliquely.  Nose has a gentle dip, very small drop off towards the tip.  Cheeks filling.  Muzzle tapers very slightly at the moment.  Level bite, chin could be a little firmer.  Long body, exhibiting quite large boning to limbs and paws.  Well-balanced bushy tail.  Coat currently on the shorter side with ruff yet to lengthen, fairly full knickerbockers.  Good definition to the blue tabby points, contrasting with the bluish white body colour.  I feel that this young lady will look much better once she matures and also develops her full coat. Well groomed and good to handle.

AC BI-COLOUR NEUTER MALE
PC, STONE’S DIZZIPAWS JACK, 66 31, 09.02.08
Seal Bi-Colour. A wonderful chap all-round, he shows a great deal of promise.  Good medium-sized ears, set with a slightly forward tilt and wide apart on a strong masculine head.  Clear flat plane visible between the ears.  Cheeks already well-developed, very good definition to the rounded muzzle of excellent length.  Large eyes, slightly obliquely set, pale blue in colour.  Lovely profile to the medium length nose, gentle dip in profile and slightly retrousse towards the tip. Level bite, firm chin which was quite deep.  Really long muscular balanced body, excellent substantial bone structure to medium length legs ending with a large round paws.  Very well furnished bushy tail, easily reaching the shoulders.  Coat a very nice length indeed for a male of only eleven months old, medium length, dense and silky with a ruff framing the face and well developed knickerbockers.  Quite a deep shade of seal brown to the ears and face, tail slightly paler.  Beige body colour with a full white-collar and white limbs to body level.  He had an evenly marked inverted ‘v’ starting on the forehead, white chin, bob, chest and underbody. Great to handle, super temperament and shown in excellent condition. One to watch out for in the future.
2ND PROWTING’S PR EISERBLEW BERRY MUFFIN, 66 31, 27.04.06
Seal Bi-Colour. Nice breadth to the head with well developed cheeks and a rounded shaped muzzle. Flat plane between ears of medium size, the ears were sitting well on the head. Lovely deep blue eyes, large and slightly obliquely set. Medium length nose with a gentle dip present. Level bite. Firm chin, showing nice depth. Lovely muscle tone to the long body, quite large boning to limbs of medium length, round feet. Tail reached the shoulders and was nicely furnished with a bushy texture. Medium length coat to the body, silky texture with quite a full ruff and well grown knickerbockers. Quite deep seal brown coloured points to head, ears and tail. Well marked inverted ‘v’ to the face, white to the entire length of the underbody, white collar around the neck and white limbs. A very affectionate boy who was well groomed and lovely to handle.
3RD PROWTING’S PR MIAMORIO ENGLISH GENTLEMAN, 66 31, 31.07.03
Seal Bi-Colour. Good medium sized ears, set well apart on a strong broad head with well developed cheeks and a flat plane to the top of head. Large bright eyes, mid blue in colour, though set just a little too obliquely for me. Lovely profile, nose of medium length with a gentle dip and slightly retrousse towards the tip. Bite marginally undershot. Firm chin, quite deep. Broad chest leading to a long and very substantial body, limbs exhibited quite large boning, they were medium in length with large round paws. Bushy tail, well furnished and reaching the shoulders. Excellent coat qualities, very silky indeed, dense and medium in length. Lovely full ruff framing the face, full knickerbockers. I was very impressed indeed with the feel of his coat. Seal brown to ears, head and tail. Small amount of the body’s beige colour extending down the right limb, otherwise he had a well marked bi-colour pattern with a well marked face. It was the combination of his eye set and his bite that made me place him third today, although I did like him a lot. He was very well presented and had a divine temperament.

AC BI-COLOUR NEUTER FEMALE
BOB, SPROT’S UK & IGR GR CH & GR PR CHURSTON CAMEO, 66 31, 28.03.00
Seal Bi-Colour. A beautiful female, such an excellent example of the breed. She has read strength, yet femininity to the strong broad head with well filled cheeks and very good definition to the rounded muzzle. Medium sized ears, set wide apart with a slightly forward tilt, very well balanced with the rest of the head, flat plane clearly visible between the ears. Really deep blue eyes, set slightly obliquely and of good large size. They are so very expressive. Nose of medium length, gentle dip present and it is slightly retrousse towards the tip. Level bite, firm chin. Very good breadth to chest for a female, long and well muscled body, solid boning to limbs of medium length, large round feet. Very well furnished tail, bushy texture, tail length balanced the body and reached the shoulders. Beautiful coat qualities, coat exhibited a full ruff around the neck, she had very well grown knickerbockers. Fur to the body was dense and medium in length, really silky texture. Beige colour to the body, slight extension of beige going down the left leg. Dark seal brown to the ears, face and tail. Evenly marked inverted ‘v’ to the face, starting on the forehead, white extends from the face, down the bib and chest and along the entire length of the underbody. White limbs, with the exception of the previously mentioned small amount of beige. Presented in tiptop condition and lovely to handle.
PC, BRADLEY’S PR VONCARDA KA CHINA, 66 31a, 10.05.07
Blue Bi-Colour. This girl is huge - bigger than some of the boys, yet she retains her femininity and overall balance. Very strong broad head with well developed full cheeks and a rounded shape to the muzzle. Ears of medium size, sitting wide apart and set with a slightly forward tilt. Medium shade of blue to eyes which were of good large size and set well. Gentle dip to the nose, perhaps needing to be a fraction longer to be truly medium in length when compared to that strong broad top section of head. Level bite, firm chin. Really large and long body, very weight and muscular. Excellent boning to medium length legs, large round paws. Very well furnished tail, reaching the shoulders. Full winter coat, well developed ruff and knickerbockers, coat very slightly open down the back today. Nicely marked bi-colour pattern starting with an inverted ‘v’ beginning on the forehead and going along the whole length of the underbody. Greyish blue ears, mask and tail, showing good contrast with the bluish white body colour. She was great to handle.
2ND BULLOCK’S QUARENTO PUSSY GALORE, 66 31, 16.10.06
Seal Bi-Colour. A nicely balanced girl with a very good bi-colour pattern. Good breadth to the head with a flat plane between the ears. I felt that her ears were marginally on the large side, though they were set wide apart. Today she was rather unsure and consequently she had a tendency to flare them rather than tilt them forward, though I suspect that their position is fine at home when she is more relaxed. Medium shade of blue to the large eyes, they were a little bold, which I also put down to her being on the nervous side today. Medium length nose, dip present, though ideally I would like to see just a little more curvature at the nasal bridge. Level bite, good firm chin. I loved her body, really long and exhibiting excellent muscle tone and substance. Well boned limbs of medium length, large round paws. Nicely furnished tail of good length and balancing the body length very well indeed. Quite deep seal brown points to ears, mask and tail, showing contrast with the beige coat even though it had quite a lot of deeper shading present. Very well marked bi-colour pattern with a balanced inverted ‘v’ to the face and white from the chin to the tail along the underbody. All limbs were white. Rather unsure today and I hope that she gains her confidence as she is actually a very nice girl who will look much better once she learns to relax. She was very well groomed for the show.

Mrs T Cole

Many thanks to the Show Mangers and Committee for the kind invitation to judge at this popular and well attended breed show and for the fragrant little gift at the end of the day.  I handled some lovely cats throughout the day and thank their owners for the chance of doing so.  My steward was Anita Platt who handled the exhibits with care and consideration and who looked after me in equal measure,  many thanks Anita for your help and convivial company, I look forward to working with you again.
AC OR PATTERN IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION MALE: What a way to start the day with such a lovely class, the standard was so good and the three males entered were each groomed to the last hair, all had super type and I really had to split hairs to make a decision, unfortunately one had to take a back seat today.
IMP GR CH.  HAWORTH’S GR CH DIZZIPAWS BRUCE - 66 (M) 02.08.06.  A very handsome and impressive 2 ½ year old Seal Pointed lad, the son of Raphael the Res Imp Gr winner, Bruce was a real chip of the block with superb type and overall balance and he was groomed to the last hair so much so he shone!  Showing good strength of head with a flat plane between well placed medium sized ears that were set with a forward tilt, he had really good deep blue eyes that were large well opened and set slightly on the oblique, very good width and fullness to his cheeks with a rounded and well developed muzzle, a good depth of chin and a level bite.  He had a medium length nose with a slight dip in profile and a slight nasal tilt to the tip.  He had a strong muscular body of very good weight, a short neck, broad chest and medium length well boned legs, his long bushy tail completed the balanced look.  He was dressed in a wealth of coat with a large ruff and full knickerbockers, his coat was beautifully prepared and presented, a little shaded but he still had pleasing contrasts with his dark seal points.  He had the most amazing temperament, a real gentle giant, and he was a pleasure to handle.   His delighted owners informed me later in the day that this certificate gave him his full Imperial title, my sincere congratulations on gaining his title and on his BIS win. I thought he was such a super boy and I’m sure he will be a great asset to the breed.
RES IMP GR.   JONES’S UK & IGR CH SILKIESTAR RAPHEAL – 66 31 (M) 03.03.04.  Seal Pointed Bicolour.  A large mature lad of equal merit, there was just a whisker between the two placings it was that close.  Daddy to Bruce and a very handsome and mature lad with super type and balance he had a broad and masculine head with a well defined flat plane between medium sized ears that were placed wide, forward facing and well furnished, expressive dark blue eyes that had a slightly oblique set, a shallow dip to his nose in profile with a slightly straighter finish to the end of his nose, he had a good line from the tip of his nose to his chin and his chin was of an ample depth, there was width and fullness to his face with well developed cheeks and a broad rounded muzzle. He had a large robust, muscular body of good length with a powerful short neck and a broad chest, sound boning to his medium length limbs and large round tufted paws, his bushy tail could have been just a tad longer for perfect balance.  He was dressed in a very full coat with a large head framing ruff and full knickerbockers.  He had a symmetrical white inverted ‘v’ to his seal mask, his ears and tail showed a good depth of seal colouring, his body fur was very dark beige and finished on a level with his underbody, he had a full white collar that extended down on to his left shoulder and a white patch to his back, a white bib, chest, under parts and limbs.  A super lad who was prepared and shown in excellent condition and he too had such a fabulous temperament – congratulations on his BIS win also.
AC OR PATTERN IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE:
IMP GR CH NOT AWARDED 1 GRIFFITH & SCOTT’S GR CH RAGTASIA PEACHESAND CREAM – 66g (F) 16.04.05. A Blue Tortie pointed lady - 3 ¾ years of age.  A very attractive girl, who was well built overall, but her head contours were a little too rounded and she needed more length to the lower half of her face.  She had good width to her head with medium sized forward tilting ears but the flat plane needed a little more definition, she had almost round eyes that were mid-blue in colour and set slightly on the oblique, a medium length nose with a shallow dip to her profile, very full and rounded cheeks, a strong muzzle and firm chin.  She had a long feminine body that was weighty with good width to her chest and a moderately furnished tail that was balanced to her body length, moderately boned limbs with nicely rounded and tufted paws. She was dressed in a full coat with a very full ruff and knickerbockers,  the  points to her mask, legs and tail were a well defined greyish blue colour,  intermingled with shades of cream, her body colouring was  creamy white with shades of  blue along her lower back and flanks and she had clear under parts.  Her lengthy coat was a little woolly in texture but it was soft and well prepared.  I was sorry to withhold the certificate on this sweet natured lady but I felt the above mentioned reason regarding her head type precluded her form this very prestigious award.
SEAL COLOURPOINTED/MITTED (INC AOC DOMINANT) NEUTER MALE:
1 PC & BOB CHAMBERLAINE’S FILENSIO DARK VELVET – 66 (MN) 27.04.07.  Seal pointed lad, 21 months of age and well developed overall.  He had breadth to his head with medium sized ears that appeared a little upright, the flat plane between well defined, beautiful deep blue eyes just a tad bold but with a gentle oblique set, medium length nose with a slight dip in profile and the nasal tilt quite well developed, good width to his cheeks with a broad rounded muzzle and a firm chin. He had a well developed and proportionate body with very good boning and a lovely full tail of good length that was just a little brindled, Points showing a good depth of seal colouring especially his mask,  his legs were just a little paler.  He had a moderately full coat with a neat ruff, his body fur was a little shady down his back with some shading to his under parts but it was soft, silky and well groomed and he had such a lovely temperament.
2 WILSON’S MONTANTE PRADA – 66 (MN) 17.03.08. A Seal Pointed youngster who was just into the adult class but already a good size, he was really very well constructed with solid boning to his limbs and he had large rounded paws and a well furnished full tail that was balanced to his body length. He had a good breadth of head with forward facing medium sized ears, his eyes were a little small but they had the correct oblique set and they had a good depth of blue colour, medium nose with a very minor dip to his profile and showing a straighter finish rather than a retrousse tip, his cheeks showed breadth and fullness, he had a broad, full muzzle and good depth to his chin.   He was dressed in a full coat with a good length to his ruff, and  full knickerbockers,  his body fur pale beige in tone with a little body shading but still complimenting his really dark and well developed seal points, especially his mask and legs, his tail showed just a little brindling.  Overall a well developed lad with such a sweet nature and he was very well shown.
3 SMITH’S LEASOWES’S MC DREAMIE – 66 (MN) 11.03.08. A 10 month old Seal Pointed youngster with pleasing type and facial balance he had strength to his head with well placed medium sized ears, a good flat plane, lovely eye shape with an oblique set that were mid-blue in colour and he had such a gentle expression, a medium length nose with a slight dip and just a tiny bump in profile, full cheeks, well formed muzzle and a ample chin depth.  He had a large robust body with very good boning to his limbs and large rounded paws and lengthy well furnished tail that had a slight irregularity at the tip.  Super coat for length and texture , it was a little shaded along his back he had some shading to his underbody but it was soft and well prepared, he had a little brindling to his mask and tail otherwise his points were showing a good development of seal colour.  A charming young man with such an endearing temperament.
4 CHAPMAN’S EMMERISLE FIRST OF TIADOR – 66tw (MN) 13.11.07.  Seal Tabby Pointed Mitted.  A young adolescent lad with all that implies.  He had generally pleasing lines with medium boning to his limbs.  His head looked somewhat triangular today as he lacked fullness to the lower half of his face, however he had a good width to his head and well placed medium sized ears and a flat plane, blue eyes with a slight oblique set, nose of medium length with a gentle dip but showing a slight rounding at the tip, he had good width to his cheeks but they were still developing fullness, his muzzle could have been a tad stronger and he also showed a muzzle pinch but he had a good depth of chin and a level bite.  He had good body length and it was fairly weighty, he had a moderately furnished tail that showed clear rings to the underside and a solid tip, although it could have been just a touch longer, he also had good tabby definition to his points with seal brown markings overlaying a pale brown agouti background, he had the required ‘m’ to his forehead, light spectacles, eye lines, spotted whisker beds, a brick coloured nose leather  that was outlined in seal, bars to his legs, he had even mittens and the white on his back legs extended above his hocks.  He had a moderately lengthy coat that was quite soft and well prepared and he had a full creamy coloured ruff, his coat was very shaded on the top but it still showed contrasts with his points and he had some shading on his tummy.  He was quite a shy and nervous youngster but after some gentle coaxing he handled well.
SEAL COLOURPOINTED/MITTED (INC AOC DOMINANT) NEUTER FEMALE:
1 PC HARMER’S RAGMITTEN SASKIA – 66 (FN) 14.04.07.  A Seal Pointed girl, 21 months old and very well developed, she had good head type with a flat plane and plenty of width between forward facing medium sized ears, mid-blue eyes with a pretty expression and set slightly on the oblique, slight dip to a medium length nose, full cheeks and well developed muzzle, her chin for perfection could have been be just a tad deeper otherwise she had good head symmetry.  She had a weighty and well constructed body with moderately bone limbs and a full tail of proportionate length.  She had a soft, full coat with a ruff and knickerbockers, her coat was a little shaded and she had some shading to her underbody but she had well developed seal points giving pleasing contrast to her body colour.   She was a pretty girl with a sweet nature who was shown and she was presented in lovely condition.
AC OR PATTERN BREEDERS ADULT MALE:

A very masculine lad who at nearly four years of age had maturity on his side, he looked most impressive.  He had great strength of head and a typical Ragdoll expression, correct ears size and placement, large, deep blue eyes set slightly on the oblique, he had breadth and fullness to his face with a broad and rounded muzzle together with a good depth of chin, a medium length nose with a slight dip and a little retrousse tip in profile.  He had a long muscular body that was heavy set, with a thick neck and broad chest, substantially boned limbs and really large round tufted paws.  He had a fully furnished and lengthy tail in proportion to his body length and he was dressed in a heavy coat with a huge ruff and full knickerbockers  He had a seal mask with a white inverted ‘v starting at his forehead, extending down covering his nose, whisker pads and chin, he had seal ears and a seal coloured tail with a few scattered white hairs,  he had a white chest, under parts and limbs, he had small seal spot on the back of  his right front leg,  he had a full white collar and white zigzag  shaped area down his back, his body fur was a darker shade of beige.  He was a very impressive lad who was beautifully groomed and a real pleasure to handle.
3 DAVIES’S   GR CH RAGSHAVEN BUSTERS LEGACY 66 31a (M) 27.03.05.  Blue Point Bicolour lad nearly four years old and another very handsome exhibit, he too was substantially built with a long muscular body, thick neck and broad chest, long bushy tail slightly tapered towards the tip and in proportion to his body length, super boning to his medium length limbs and large rounded paws.   He had a good width to his head with the required flat plane, his ears appeared a little upright and they seemed to flare to the side today instead of facing forward, his mid blue eyes were large and set on the oblique, he had a medium length nose with a slight dip to his profile and finished with a pink leather, he had excellent width and fullness to his cheeks, quite a good width and fullness to his muzzle and finished with a firm chin.  He had well matched blue/grey colouring to his mask, ears and tail and he had a symmetrical white inverted ‘v’ starting at his forehead, covering his nose, whisker pads and chin, he had a white chest, underbody and limbs, his body colour was bluish/beige in tone with a full white collar, the body colour finishing on a level with his underbody.  His coat was moderately, lengthy, soft and groomed to the last hair so much so it shone but he just didn’t shine in the personality stakes today he seemed very lack-lustre and was more content curled up in the corner of his pen - hopefully this was a transient phase,  I do hope so - he is such nice lad.

I would just like to mention a young boy (Master R Pullen) and his kitten (Dizzipaws Zemo) who we had the pleasure of meeting in the hotel on Saturday evening. Master Pullen was such a personable young lad and he was so proud of his kitten Zemo who was the son of Imp Gr Ch Dizzipaws Bruce.  Zemo was a very handsome blue point mitted lad of gorgeous type, just under 9 month old and already larger than some males I had handled at the show, he was beautifully constructed, he had a superb coat and his temperament was so laid back he was horizontal.  I won’t be at all surprised to see Zemo’s show career  take off, so good luck to them both  although I have a feeling they won’t need it!

Mrs E Culf

My sincere thanks to the new Committee and Show Management team for my invitation to judge once again at this popular breed show, sharing a venue with several other Clubs certainly makes wise economic sense and helps to create a super extra buzz in the show hall all day.  My hard working and ever efficient steward was Irene Roos, always a pleasure to work with and a lady who handles all the exhibits with great care and interest, thank you Irene, I look forward to our next engagement.

CLASS 25         AC OR PATTERN PREMIER MALE
A fabulous class to start the day, with seven wonderful looking boys to choose just two winners from, thank you exhibitors for giving me such a pleasant headache!!
GPC, LAWRENCE’S IGR PR SONNYWOOD BOSSA NOVA, 66a, BLUE COLOURPOINTED, 13.05.00
In many people’s minds, including mine, this exhibit remains one of the finest blue colourpointed examples of the breed on the showbench today, just oozing style and quality of seismic proportions.  A very confident lad, who does like you to know that he is in charge, as he verbally fires the odd ‘warning shot across the bow’ reminding the ‘white coats’ to treat him with the respect he deserves!!  He is a really strong and powerful boy, looking so well balanced and masculine.  Excellent head shape, broad with a flat plane between medium sized ears that tilt forwards slightly, wonderful Ragdoll look and expression from piercing blue eyes, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle.  Wonderful body size and structure, long and large, broad chest and well toned limbs, large tufted paws and a long bushy tail to balance well.  His expertly presented coat is dense and in wonderful silky condition, bluish white in colour and showing exquisite contrast with his mid blue even points colour, and he was wearing a full ruff and knickerbockers to complete the picture.  Impressive lad with a most memorable appearance.  Congratulations on his Imperial and BIS wins too!
RGPC, ALLEN’S PR SPIRITDANCERS DARCY, 66 31, SEAL BI-COLOUR, 08.08.06
Another very handsome boy, with striking looking seal bi-colour markings.  Excellent head shape and proportions, being broad with a flat plane between ears that tilt forwards gently, well developed cheeks and rounded strong muzzle, firm chin and level bite.  Expressive large and well opened blue eyes, slightly obliquely set and lovely Ragdoll expression.  Very well grown and sturdy lad, of excellent body size and weight, long and muscular with broad chest, substantial limbs and large tufted paws, long bushy tail easily reaches the shoulders.  Snowy white symmetrical V marking starting on the forehead and extending downwards, with bib, chest and underbody being white, white legs.  His one peccadillo at the moment is that his coat, though expertly presented, is a little short particularly round the head, where he needs his ruff to come through more, the pale beige coat is silky soft and he has one small white patch of white on the back.  Such a friendly boy today, very happy to show himself off.  I really enjoyed handling him.

CLASS 26         AC OR PATTERN PREMIER FEMALE
GPC, SPROT’S UK & IGR CH & GR PR CHURSTON CAMEO, 66 31, SEAL BI-COLOUR, 28.03.00
Oh my, how can I possibly find something new to say about this gorgeous female that hasn’t already been said, either by me on previous occasions, or by my fellow judges!  She really is a veritable example of all that is desirable about the breed and feast your eyes upon, looking every inch a glamour puss and enjoying the adulation enormously – and why not!  Super Ragdoll look and type, oozing style and confidence and beautifully presented, with not a hair out of place.  Excellent shape head, beautifully expressive deep blue eyes, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, nicely balanced ears and pert nose with a hint of a retrousse tip.  Weighty feel to her compact body, proportionate limbs and long bushy tail just balances well.  Her silky dense coat is her crowning glory, literally dripping in coat with a full ruff to enhance the facial features and bi-colour markings exquisitely.  To top it all, she has the most wonderful showbench nature, so relaxed, she poses beautifully as per the teachings from the finest Swiss finishing school!  The paparazzi would simply be in their element!
RGPC, BRADLEY’S PR VONVARDA KA CHINA, 66 31a, BLUE BI-COLOUR, 10.05.07
Wonderful size female, who I have had the pleasure of judging before.  There is certainly no need to make any allowance for her being smaller than the males, she can certainly ‘hold her own’ in that area, as she is one of the best sized females on the showbench, large and powerful and retaining her excellent balance and proportions.  Lovely head shape, broad with a flat plane between medium sized ears, well developed cheeks and muzzle, firm chin and level bite.  Large, round eyes are set slightly obliquely and apart, deep blue in colour and so expressive.  Nicely marked bi-colour, her snowy white symmetrical V marking starts on the forehead and extends downwards to the chin, white bib, chest and under body, white legs and tufted white paws.  Her coat is fairly long but lays flat along her back, and is quite a dark colour, though there is still contrast with deeper blue points.  Very relaxed and happy to be handled.

CLASS 5          AC BI-COLOUR ADULT, MALE
As well as the male entered for the CC and eight beautiful females, I had three very handsome boys entered just for BOB, and it was a real challenge to separate such quality exhibits.
BOB, JONES’ UK & IGR CH SILKIESTAR RAPHAEL, 66 31, SEAL, 03.04.04.
I really liked this fellow!  He looked so awesome, stylish and with such presence he just posed regally and really looked pretty exceptional.  Everything about him is straight from the standard, he is powerful and imposing, has distinctive markings and displays an extremely striking appearance.  Excellent head shape and balance, a sturdy body and strong limbs, long tail to balance well.  Wonderful seal bi-colour markings enhance his overall look, whilst his silky soft thick beige coat was presented to perfection.  A real showman and a pleasure to award the BOB, I was delighted to see him chosen as best bi-colour adult and later the overall BIS exhibit, richly deserved, congratulations!
1ST, CC WITHHELD, SHOREMAN’S TUFTYTOES PADDINGTON, 66 31a, BLUE, 21.07.04
This very friendly boy was a wonderful size and structure, looking well balanced and proportioned.  Very good shape to head, being broad with a flat plane between medium sized ears that tilt forwards gently, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle.  His just medium length nose has a gentle dip to the profile, firm chin and level bite.  Large, well opened blue eyes are set slightly obliquely, the blue colour is a little on the pale side.  Pleasing body length and weight, strong and substantial, with proportionate limbs and bushy tail that could be a tad longer for perfect balance.  I was very sorry to have to withhold the CC on him this morning, but for me his show condition let him down rather badly, as his bluish white coat was flat and rather greasy to the touch, looking particularly unkempt around the tummy area whilst his legs looked badly stained with a yellow tinge rather than snowy white.  I did try to find his owners to explain my decision, but unfortunately we just couldn’t seem to be in the same place at the same time!

CLASS 6          AC BI-COLOUR ADULT, FEMALE
Another super class of exhibits, with seven females vying for top spot, plus an additional girl entered for BOB, where she came up against the stunning males.
CC, HARRISON’S VALLEYCAT FIRST EDITION, 66 31, SEAL, 05.02.05
When I walked down the line at the start of the class, I felt this girl could be in my top three, and she did not disappoint.  She did look quite sensational!  Lovely Ragdoll type and size, her head is well proportioned with the body size and weight, limbs are substantial and her paws are large, round and tufted, good tail length to balance.  Very nice top of head, being broad with a flat plane between ears that tilt forwards slightly, medium length nose with gentle dip, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, firm chin.  Beautiful eye shape and colour is fairly deep blue, her expression is enhanced by the pencil eye liner markings under her eyes.  Her dense and silky coat had been beautifully presented, her bi-colour markings are striking.  The inverted white V marking starts at the top of the forehead as a trickle, extends downwards to the chin, she has a white bib, chest and underbelly, legs are all white.  She has one white patch near her left front leg and one patch down her back, the remainder of the coat is predominantly pale beige, lovely contrasts with her deep seal ears and mask.  She really looks stunning but certainly prefers the security of her pen, as she became more like an octopus with eight legs when we had her out to admire her, constantly wriggling and doing her utmost to make an escape!  I understand from her ecstatic owners that she became a champion today, congratulations.
2ND, NEWMAN’S AMIGAMIA GYPSY ROSE, 66 31a, BLUE, 06.09.07
Another very pretty girl, who I have seen before, in fact I have given her a CC quite recently.  Just sixteen months old and developing so very nicely.  Her head is broad with a flat plane, good width between her medium sized ears that tilt forwards gently, lovely nose length with gentle dip to the profile.  Well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, bite appears level and chin is fairly strong.  Large, well opened eyes are set slightly obliquely and apart, good depth to the blue colour and such a gentle expression.  Well grown and well proportioned girl of pleasing body length and weight, medium length legs and large round paws with delicate tufts, bushy tail to balance.  Her silky coat was in wonderful condition, so luxurious and presented to perfection.  Her white inverted V marking on the forehead is symmetrical if a fraction generous, her legs are white albeit the bluish white coat colour encroaches slightly to the top of the front legs.  She was a dream to handle, so friendly and relaxed with surely a promising future ahead of her.
3RD, WESTWOOD’S GROOVICATS ARYANMIST, 66 31, SEAL, 16.03.08
An attractive seal bi-colour, looking most promising and such a relaxed girl, as she kneaded her paws on her blanket or on our coats whilst enjoying a cuddle!  Very good head shape, nice and broad with flat plane between medium sized ears that tilt forwards, medium length nose with a gentle dip to the profile, hint of a retrousse tip, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, firm chin and level bite.  Large, well opened eyes are china blue and so expressive.  Strong and sturdy feel to the body and limbs, looking well balanced and proportioned with super bushy tail to balance.  Her pale beige coat is fairly dense and beautifully presented, just needing a little more length and her ruff to develop to complete the picture.  She has white markings over her shoulders and white chin, bib, chest and belly, legs all white.  Nice girl.

EXTRA 3RD, HASSETT’S HAPPYTYME MISS BEHAVING, 66 31a, BLUE, 03.03.08
So lovely to see such a pretty young lady developing well.  I last saw her as a kitten, when I commented that she was showing lots of promise.  Now into the adult classes and still looking understandably immature, but she certainly ticks all the right boxes for the breed!  Very pleasing head shape, good breadth and flat plane between her ears that are looking a fraction large at the moment, more so when she was performing her wriggling antics whilst we had her out of the pen, much better when she relaxed on her blanket.  Medium length nose with gentle dip to the profile, slight retrousse finish at the tip, cheeks and muzzle show round contours, good chin and bite.  Large, well opened eyes, spaced apart and deep blue in colour.  Well grown and well proportioned girl, good body length and weight, proportionate limbs and fairly bushy tail to balance.  Her silky soft bluish white coat was beautifully presented, if a touch short at present, needing more length and a ruff to develop.  She shows a white, almost T shaped marking across her shoulders and onto her back, and a small white patch on the back and a few wispy white hairs by the tail.  She has a symmetrical V marking starting on the forehead, white chin, bib, chest and belly and her legs are white, with just a small spot of blue colouring on the back left leg.  Playful girl, who was almost hyperactive in her behaviour, such a personality!
4TH, FITZPATRICK’S EMERISLE GYPSOPHILIA, 66 31a, BLUE, 23.03.02
A more mature female, with such an incredibly gentle nature, purring away and lovingly nibbling our fingers whilst she was being judged!  Good head shape, broad with a flat plane between ears that tilt forwards slightly and showing good balance and proportions to the head, with well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle.  Large, well opened eyes are set slightly obliquely and are deep blue in colour, super expression.  Good body length and boning, though I do feel that she could be heavier and more substantial in weight.  Her white V marking on the forehead is slightly off centre and a little narrow, she has a white chin, bib, chest, belly and legs, whilst her back has a fairly wide white line down the spine, but still within the allowance of one third.  She was sporting a wonderful full ruff and her coat was silky soft and in excellent condition.

CLASS 41         AC OR PATTERN SPECIAL LIMIT ADULT, MALE OR FEMALE
1ST, HAWORTH’S GR CH DIZZIPAWS BRUCE, 66, SEAL COLOURPOINTED MALE, 02.08.06
This boy has star quality in bucketloads!  A very handsome and charismatic lad, looking so regal and poised.  Fabulous head shape, broad with a flat plane between well positioned medium sized ears, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, firm chin and level bite.  Excellent deep blue large and well opened eyes, set slightly obliquely and with a smouldering expression to win the ladies over!  Wonderful body size and weight, well structured and well proportioned, substantial limbs and large tufted paws, a long bushy tail completes the picture.  His soft and beautifully presented silky pale beige coat is medium in length, he has a ruff to frame the head, gorgeous velvety deep seal points to contrast exquisitely.  Congratulations on his clean sweep today, culminating in his best colourpointed adult win, well deserved, he looked sensational, obviously being well coached to handle the well deserved show stardom!
2ND, FITZPATRICK’S CH EMERISLE EMILIO BANDITO, 66 31, SEAL BI-COLOUR MALE, 08.04.05
It is quite usual to say that a cat is wearing a fabulous coat, but today I thought the coat was wearing the cat as this wonderful boy seemed to disappear under the amazingly profuse and fantastically groomed coat!  He was certainly well wrapped up in his polar bear coat for the freezing temperatures outside!  Very good Ragdoll look and type, his head is broad with a flat plane between ears that are medium in size – once you found them under his ruff!  Well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, good chin.  Medium length nose with gentle dip to the profile.  He tended to relax the eyes a little too much at times, spoiling the large and well opened shape that was much more obvious when we had his full attention, the eye colour is exceptionally deep sapphire blue.  Very strong and sturdy boy, of good proportions, with long muscular body, substantial limbs and super tufted paws, bushy tail to balance.  His silky soft coat is quite dark beige on the back, he has a white patch near the shoulders, white chin, bib, chest and belly and legs are white, albeit the right front leg has a small seal spot of colour.  He was just a little tetchy whilst being handled, and was none too keen for me to check his bite today, but then who enjoys seeing the dentist!?

1ST, GRIFFITHS & SCOTT’S RAGTASIA SUMMER BREEZE, 66 31a, BLUE BI-COLOUR FEMALE, 12.04.08
One of the crème de la crème exhibits for me today, a beautiful young lady, looking so feminine and demure.  Lovely Ragdoll look, her head is broad with a flat plane and good width between medium ears that tilt forwards gently, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle.  Medium length nose with gentle dip to the profile, delicate retrousse tip, firm chin and level bite.  Stunning deep blue eyes are large and well opened, set slightly obliquely and apart, the expression is enhanced by her snowy white inverted V marking on the forehead.  Very pleasing body size and structure, long and muscular tones already, chest has breadth and limbs are substantial, paws have delicate tufts and her tail is long and bushy to balance.  Her soft and silky kitten coat was in superb condition, beautifully groomed and predominantly bluish white with a couple of white patches on the shoulders and back, white chin, chest, belly and legs.  A wonderfully relaxed girl, showing herself off to perfection and a pleasure to judge for best bi-colour kitten as well today, which I was delighted to award to her.  If I had a crystal ball, I could confidently see a promising future ahead!
2ND, PULLEN’S DIZZIPAWS ZEMO, 66aw, BLUE MITTED MALE, 12.04.08
I have judged this young lad before, pleasing to see him developing so well.  He really has the size and stature that the breed is renowned for, with a wonderful broad head shape, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, good width between medium sized ears and medium length nose with gentle dip to the profile.  His eyes are large and well opened, set slightly obliquely and perhaps a little pale in colour.  Strong, muscular feel to his body, broad chest developing and substantial limbs, round tufted paws and a long bushy tail reaching the shoulders in length.  His thick and silky coat is presented to perfection, pale bluish white in colour and contrasting well with his pale blue points colour.  His chin is white, as is his bib, chest and under belly, back legs are also snowy white.  It is a good thing that the standard says type and appearance are paramount over markings, as his one “fault” is that his front white mittens are a little high, particularly the right front foot.  He is a stunning looking boy, though his temperament can occasionally let him down a little, as he tenses during judging, much better relaxed in his pen.

Quite a striking young lad, of excellent size and structure.  Pleasing Ragdoll look, his head is broad with a flat plane between medium sized ears that tilt forwards gently, well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, firm chin and level bite.  His nose is medium in length with a gentle dip when viewed in profile.  One of his most attractive features are his wonderfully expressive deep blue eyes, large and well opened and set apart and obliquely.  Well proportioned and of lovely size, with long muscular body, thick set limbs and large tufted paws, bushy tail balanced well.  His silky coat is dense and well presented, slighter darker than the ideal bluish white, but still shows contrast with his mid blue even points colour.  He really enjoyed a cuddle and was delightful to judge.

CLASS 83         AC OR PATTERN TABBY NEUTER, MALE OR FEMALE
1ST, CHAPMAN’S EMERISLE FIRST OF TIADOR, 66tw, SEAL TABBY MITTED MALE, 13.11.07
Just over a year old and this boy already looks and feels quite massive!  Good head shape, being broad with a flat plane between his solid seal ears that tilt forwards slightly, fairly well developed cheeks and muzzle, just a little more strength to this area would enhance his overall balanced look.  Expressive deep blue large and well opened eyes with light coloured spectacle markings framing them.  Well grown boy, excellent body length and weight, with proportionate limbs and round tufted paws, bushy lightly ringed tail to balance.  Whilst his tabby markings are well defined and numerous, he does suffer a little from the perennial problem experienced by some seal tabbies in that his coat is a little patchy and shaded in places.  He has white front mittens, white chin, bib and chest and practically the entire underbody is white, albeit there is a darker spot around his tummy which could have had more preparation as it looked somewhat grubby.  Very nice natured lad, he didn’t mind the tummy tickling at all!
2ND, HARRISON’S ADSETLO STORMCHASE, 66t, SEAL TABBY COLOURPOINTED MALE, 03.05.07
Another seal tabby, this time a colourpointed boy with an excellent head shape, broad with a flat plane, nicely defined tabby markings on mask and stunning deep blue large and well opened eyes.  Very good size and structure, muscular body and proportionate limbs.  Unfortunately today, he was badly let down by lack of show preparation and he really needed much more attention to his presentation.  His dense and medium long coat is quite dark beige, though still showing contrast with his well defined tabby markings, but the condition was poor, looking and feeling unkempt and greasy all over.  Such a shame, as apart from this, he was a handsome and appealing looking boy with a very relaxed temperament.

2ND, DUNSTALL’S ELANESSE HURLUIN THEFAIR, 66 31a, BLUE BI-COLOUR, 15.08.08
A handsome youngster, almost five months old and really at the stage in his development where he needs more time for everything to come together.  Good head shape, already looking broad with gently rounded contours to the cheeks and muzzle that just needs to strengthen some more for perfection.  Good flat plane between ears that are looking a little large at the moment, but well set.  Medium length nose with gentle dip to the profile, good strong chin and level bite.  Expressive large and well opened blue eyes, expression enhanced by his inverted snowy white V marking that starts on the forehead and is symmetrical.  His legs are white, albeit there is a tiny smudge of blue colouring on his left front foot.  Well grown boy, promising size and structure particularly for his age, limbs and tail in proportion.  Lovely nature, so playful and enjoying his day out.

CLASS 88b       ANY RAGDOLL KITTEN MALE
1ST, COOK’S HIGHVIEW BACKCHAT, 66, SEAL COLOURPOINTED, 11.04.08
A very promising looking youngster, with probably the best retrousse tip to the nose I’ve seen today!  Very good head shape, showing good breadth with a flat plane between ears that are looking a fraction large at the moment as he needs a little more time to grow into them fully!  Well developed cheeks and gently rounded muzzle, firm chin and level bite.  Large, well opened eyes showing slight brindling on the mask around them at the moment, good strong deep blue colour.  Well grown and well proportioned, nice solid feel to his body and limbs, paws look as they will be massive!  His tail is fairly bushy already and easily reaches his shoulders to balance well with the body.  His deep seal points colour is still fully to come through, particularly the mask and chin, but shows good contrast with his pale beige kitten coat that was well presented on top, a little more attention to his tummy area would be beneficial.  Contrary to what his name might suggest, he did not have any backchat for us, he behaved impeccably and was a delight to handle.
2ND, GRIFFITHS & SCOTT’S RAGTASIA JAQUE SON, 66a, BLUE COLOURPOINTED, 21.06.08
I really liked the wonderful structure of this young man, already strong and muscular, wonderful boning.  Excellent head shape, broad with a flat plane, medium sized ears tilting forwards slightly, good nose length and dip to profile, hint of a retrousse tip.  Well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle.  Large, well opened eyes are set obliquely and apart, the eye colour is a trifle disappointing being a pale blue.  Well proportioned and well grown lad, broad chest developing, short neck and looking so well balanced, his limbs and tufted paws are strong and sturdy.  His pale bluish white coat is dense and medium in length, well presented and contrasting with his blue points colouring magnificently.  It was his pale eye colour and slight evidence of a greasy stud tail that placed him second today!  Super nature.

CLASS 89a       ANY RAGDOLL KITTEN FEMALE
1ST, ROY’S PETALPAWS TIGERLILY, 66t, SEAL TABBY COLOURPOINTED, 30.06.08
A very pretty female, with wonderful shape to the head, nice breadth between medium sized ears that tilt forwards slightly.  Cheeks fairly well developed already and rounded contours to the muzzle.  Medium length nose with gentle dip to the profile, retrousse tip, chin is strong and bite is level.  Large, well opened eyes are set apart and obliquely, lovely deep blue colour.  The expression is enhanced by the seal tabby markings on the mask.  Well grown girl, nice solid and muscular feel to the body and limbs, her tail is bushy and of good length to balance, showing plentiful rings.  Front legs are well marked with her stripes of seal brown on a paler brown agouti ground colour, back legs solid seal. Her pale beige coat is silky soft on top, little more preparation to the tummy area required for perfection.  Wonderful nature and a striking looking girl.
2ND, LYNCH’S MAGISRAGIS PERSEPHONE, 66 31, SEAL BI-COLOUR, 04.10.08
Well this little beauty stole a few hearts here today and I believe there was a queue of people trying to cuddle her and sneak her into their pockets by the end of the day!  She is just fourteen weeks old and the baby of the show, a real poppet.  Naturally, it is still very early days but so far so good!  She is displaying many qualities already, her head shape is developing, cheeks and muzzle just need to fill out some more for perfection.  Good space between her ears already, ears still looking a little large.  Her eye colour is sensational, deep sapphire blue and so vibrant.  Nice bi-colour markings, her snowy white V marking on the forehead is symmetrical, she has white in all the right places albeit the white on her front legs doesn’t quite stretch to the tops, with the beige coat colouring creeping down a little.  Wonderful nature and one to watch out for in the future!

Another most attractive and feminine looking baby, purring her head off and so happy!  Very nice Ragdoll look developing, her head shows breadth between the ears that tilt forwards slightly, cheeks and muzzle show rounded contours and her nose is medium in length with a gentle dip to the profile, hint of a retrousse tip.  Super expressive blue eyes, so gentle and appealing, large and well opened set slightly obliquely.  Well grown girl, her body has good length and weight with proportionate limbs and rounded paws with wispy tufts, nice tail length to balance.  Beautiful deep velvety seal points colouring contrasts with her pale beige soft and silky kitten coat, just a slight darker area around the tummy.  A lovely girl, unlucky to meet the stunning bi-colour but still with oodles of class and promise for the future.

Mrs A Gregory

I felt privileged to judge the Overall Best in Show at the BRCC’s Seventh Championship Show last Saturday. Six ragdolls to judge, but the standard was of the highest quality. I would like to thank Paula and the team for the invitation. My winner was Mrs Jones wonderful UK & IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION SILKIESTAR RAPHAEL, a magnificent Seal Bi-Colour with the type, pattern, coat and star quality that typifies Best Exhibits! I was so interested to find out, when enjoying a really good evening with some Ragdoll exhibitors after the show, that the seal colourpointed male that was a close runner up to Best Exhibit was his son Bruce, owned by Mrs Haworth and I was also privileged to have a cuddle with a really promising kitten, Dizzipaws Zemo, who was his grandson !!!
Many thanks to all concerned for a very enjoyable time with outstanding Ragdolls.

Mrs P Knight

Thank you for the invitation to judge at the Show again this year. The Royal Showground is a pleasant venue, quite a new building, very spacious with room for several shows, and a nice area for the trade stalls, (I spotted some super jewelled collars for cats which were very tempting for your loved one) loads of free parking, good lighting, and a pleasant atmosphere. Stefan Harnell was my steward, and I was grateful that he had offered to help me at short notice.

AC OR PATTERN CHAMPION MALE
1 & GR CH DAVIES’ GR CH RAGSHAVEN BUSTERS LEGACY 27.3.05
Blue Bi Colour. Overall impression, exactly like the SOP for long, muscular body, thick neck, broad chest, a really substantial man, and the long, full, slightly tapering tail to match. Broad head with flat plane to forehead, medium ears wideset, tilted forward, thin feathers. Full cheeks and rounded muzzle, very neat bite, especially top teeth, and deep firm chin. Gentle profile dip, very pale pink nose leather. Large well opened eyes in slight oblique set, clear pale periwinkle blue. Very soft dense coat, medium in length, pastel bluish white over back with one white slash and one white patch, and all greyish blue points well matched. Very even pointed symmetrical blaze down fact and continuing down over chest, under belly and to top of back legs. Good grooming and very pleasant temperament completed the picture.
2 & RESERVE GR CH FITZPATRICK’S CH EMERISLE BANDITO EMILIO 8.4.05
Seal Bi Colour. First impression, rather nervous today, but in appearance – absolutely dripping with coat. Excellent head, broad, flat plane, ears could have been a little larger to balance his overall size and ‘held out’. I can’t explain it better, may be his nerves. White feathers at the front of his ears, which I have never seen before, most unusual and rather cute. Gentle profile dip, but nose straight beneath, with pink nose leather. Full cheeks, broad muzzle and firm deep chin. Level bite. Sound blue eyes just a little deep set. Superb boning with legs and feet to match. Long full tail, tapering a little to tip, very dark seal in shade. Masses of thick dense coat, beige over the back with white collar and one diagonal-y patch. Wide inverted ‘V’ passing over eyes, down over chin, chest, underbody and to top of hocks. One tiny spot at back of right front leg.

It was a very difficult decision between two cats with many individual good points but Emilio was let down by his grooming, an important segment of showing, with grubby paw pads.

AC OR PATTERN CHAMPION FEMALE
1 & GR CH FITTEN’S CH FINEARTE ZEPHYR ROSE
17.8.06
Blue Bi Colour. A very clever prefix for a pretty girl with a pretty name. Well behaved with a feminine, but sound type head. Flat plane, good width top of head, very good ears for size, set, tilt and feathers. Full cheeks, level bite, broad muzzle, and good firm chin. Beautiful large deep blue eyes in slight oblique set. Good body length and balanced long tail to match, not very full, but very good points colour. Dense medium length coat, bluish white coat just a little dull in colour over back, with a jagged white patch over the right shoulder and base of right flank.  Neat inverted white ‘V’ down face, chin, chest under belly and to top of hocks at the back. It was pleasing to see that her claws had been clipped, a thoughtful point for a show, but her feet looked quite grubby and I wondered if it was the type of litter used. She had a very nice temperament, very well behaved.

AC OR PATTERN NON-BREEDERS ADULT, MALE
1 JONES’ UK & IGR CH SILKIESTAR RAPHAEL
3.4.04
Seal Bi Colour.  A very senior man, not to say fat, but first class all round. Broad head, flat plane, wide top, ears just right, full cheeks, broad rounded muzzle and decent chin. Very defined profile dip. Eyes just a touch deep set, but large, slight oblique set and beautiful deep blue. Excellent body and bone, large solid legs and paws to match, long full tail, deep seal perfect match with mask. Dense medium coat, silky and well groomed, beige over the back, with white collar and long diamond. Even inverted white ‘V’ extending down over face, chin, chest, all under belly and to top of back legs. Back feet not quite sparkling white. An excellent example of what a ragdoll should be like.  It is hard to beat deep seal, beige and white as a colour combination.
2 LYNCH’S CHESAWOOD BURLINGTONBERTIE 15.3.08
Seal Colourpointed. Only just adult, but progressing quite well. Quite good head, broad top, full cheeks, broad muzzle and fair chin depth but ‘steps back a bit’. Strong profile dip, medium length nose, seal nose leather. Acceptable two-tone blue eyes, still deepening from the centre. Fairly good body length, still filling out, long full tail, excellent points match, deep seal all round. Medium length soft coat, beige over the back, little uneven in shade and shading lighter under the belly, nearly white down the centre, and pale around the head, ruff and bib. Very nice temperament.
3 LANCASHIRE’S FILENSIO SOUTHERN COMFORT 26.1.08
Seal mitted. What a suitable name!

AC OR PATTERN NON-BREEDERS ADULT FEMALE
1 WESTWOOD’S GROOVICATS ARYANMIST 16.3.08
Seal Bi-Colour. Wriggly!  FAT and purring.  A winning combination. Broad typy head, ears very tilted forward, deepset deep blue eyes just a fraction round still, but very sound colour. Gentle profile dip, pink nose leather, decent chin. Good strong body, boning and length, and balanced long full tail. Soft dense medium length coat, even pale beige over the back, full white collar. Broad inverted ‘V’ on deep seal mask, white all the way down chin, chest, belly and to top of back legs. Good grooming, very pleasant temperament.
2 MORRIS’ MONTANTE PURDY 12.7.07
Blue Mitted. Curvy forehead, flat wide top of head, medium ears with very long feathery tufts, and very nice gentle profile dip and nose. Chin curves back a little, though good depth. Sapphire blue eyes in slight oblique set. Good body length, tail just long enough to balance, but well furred, and good blue-grey points match all round and mask. Medium length dense coat, bluish-white over back. Neat mitts, and good level boots. A very lively lady, full of beans.
3 STERIO’S SHAMANTA BLUE LIGHTENING 3.10.07
Blue Tabby Point

AC OR PATTERN VETERAN ADULT MALE OR FEMALE
1 GRIFFITHS & SCOTT’S MARGELITE APPLE JAQUE
1.7.98
A lovely old man, AND into double figures. Good type, superb eyes, large, deep blue, in slight oblique set. Excellent muscular body length, substantial bone and balanced long full tail. Soft blue over back, long coat as well, lacking in grooming I am afraid, what a pity. Full mask, good blue-grey points match all round. It is nice to see the older ones out on the show bench.

AC OR PATTERN, NON-BREEDERS KITTEN MALE
1 COOK’S HIGHVIEW BACKCHAT
11.4.08
Seal Colourpointed. First impression – excellent contrasts between deep seal points and very pale body coat. Good weight and size for his age. Excellent ears, large well open eyes still two-tone blue, quite good gentle dip in medium length nose, broad muzzle, fairly good chin. Long tail, very good points match, very soft dense coat shortish, as one would expect in a kitten, but promising young lad, purring.
2 PULLEN’S DIZZIPAWS ZEMO 12.4.08
Blue Mitted. Nearly a perfect profile, with gentle dip and suggestion of retrousse nose, and very good large blue eyes in slight oblique set otherwise very good all round. Good body length, overall size, tail just long enough to balance. Big coat and beautifully groomed too.  Bluish white over back, pale underneath, good greyish blue points. Right miss a bit high, left one correct. Good boots to top of leg.
3 TERRY’S MIDNIGHTSTAR MAGICMYSTERY 21.6.08
Blue Colourpointed. Quite nice all round. Broad head, very good medium ears, tilted forward, straightish profile dip, good blue eyes. Very good body length and development, long full tail, and good greyish-blue points match all round. Soft coat, bluish white over back, paler underneath. Noticeably good grooming, making the most of his charms.

Plump little girl, good size for her age, balanced long tail, quite full and good seal points match. Hint of brindling, very pale beige soft coat over back. Neat mitts and boots to hock.
2 ADAMS & THOMPSON’S LANEGA DREAMGIRL 23.4.08
Blue Colourpointed. Good width of head, with medium size ears tilted forward and good feathers. Full cheeks, broad muzzle, fairly good chin depth, gentle dip in profile, blue nose leather. Good head, quite nice gentle profile dip, eyes a little round in set, but excellent deep blue. Very good body length, substantial and with broad strong legs. Excellent tail, long, thick, tapering to tip, and striking points contrast, deep velvety seal mask and tail. Rather dark beige and a bit streaky over back, with two good patches, but soft and dense in texture. Mr S Leppard

I was looking forward to judging at this show and this year I made it, I was not disappointed. My grateful thanks to the Club, committee and show manager Mrs Celia Leighton and her assistants Paula Long & Len Southern. I had a lovely time amongst so many lovely Ragdoll. Sincere thanks to the exhibitors for entering their lovely cats, many thanks for the gift which I shall enjoy at my leisure.

With large rounded tufted paws, pink pads. Nicely groomed and presented coat of a very nice silky texture, showing a very slight hint of blue to back and sides. Mrs J Tackley

I should like to thank the show management and the committee for the invitation to judge at their friendly breed show.  I spent a pleasant day literally surrounded by Ragdolls!  A spacious venue, with lots of atmosphere.  I am most grateful to Shirley Talboys (Shandatal Birmans) who came especially to steward for me, with her usual quiet expertise - and on such a cold day too!  Thank you Shirley, I shall look forward to the next time. Thanks also to Joanne Lamont, my second steward on the day.  Joanne I hoped you enjoyed the learning curve.
SEAL BI-COLOUR RAGDOLL KITTEN MALE:
1 SABINE’S SILKIESTAR I’MSOHANDSOME (66 31) M 23.05.2008.  An 8 and a half month old seal bi-colour Ragdoll kitten of good type, he is long in the body, muscular and well grown.   Broad head with flat plane, very good width between the medium seal brown ears. Ears showing the desired slight forward tilt, they are well furnished and rounded at the tips. The large well opened and expressive medium blue eyes are set well apart in an oblique aperture.  The bite is level the chin is firm.  Rounded well developed muzzle the cheeks needing to develop.  A medium length rather straight wide nose, tending to dominate the facial features at present, the tip is not retrousse. The mask has a slightly unbalanced inverted ‘V’ of white beginning low down on the forehead, covering the nose, whisker pads and chin.  The remainder of the mask is seal brown.  Medium length legs of substantial boning and strong tufted paws, the paws and legs are white, the back legs are white to the level of the underbody.  Long seal brown well furnished tail, tapering towards the tip, a little brindled on the upper surface at present.  The dense and soft predominately beige body coat is medium in length, a short neck ruff developing.  The bib chest and entire underbody is white, there is a pale brown belly spot.  A nicely presented exhibit, not happy to be handled today, rather vocal and nervous whilst out of his pen.

Large rather bold and rounded pale blue eyes, not oblique in their set.  The body is long and muscular, heavy in set with a short neck.  The bite is level and the chin is firm, Chandler has a rounded well developed muzzle, the nose leather is pink.  Medium length nose, only a barely perceptible dip, the tip is just retrousse. The mask has a balanced inverted ‘V’ of white beginning at the middle of the forehead, covering the nose and whisker pads but unfortunately not the chin, this is seal brown.  The remainder of the mask is seal brown.
