Mrs C Bamford

I thank Pat, Barbara and the rest of the committee for the invitation to judge at their friendly breed show.  Sue Danks stewarded for me for the first time and I know we will repeat it again in the future.

AC Persian Self Champion Male:  1st and GR CC. HUTCHINSON’S CH HERRAFARESIAH BUTTER BALL.  (5) 24/05/07.  Cream male of lovely type with a very large masculine looking head.  He is a large cat with a nice cobby shape to his body, very strong bone and a short tail.  He had good width between neat ears, round orange eyes, almost level bite, broad nose with a fair stop, fat cheeks and a strong chin.  His soft, silky coat is a nice pale cream but is seasonally paler at the roots with the texture changing a little.  Very gentle young cat. Female:  1st and GR CC. ROGERS’ CH MILNUSS ELLIEANNA.  (70/1) 24/05/07.  Black Exotic with nice type and lovely temperament.  Compact cobby shape to her body with nice bone, a short tail and a strong broad chest.  Well rounded head with neat ears set well apart, round pale orange eyes, level bite, very short broad nose with a deep break, well rounded cheeks and a good depth of chin.   She had a good length dense black coat, soft and plush and almost sound.

Cream Adult Male:  1 CC & BOB. PRIESTLEY’S SHIMBA EYECATCHER.  (5) 29/05/07.  Attractive cat with a large cobby shape to his body, excellent bone and a very short tail.  He had a round head with good width between neat ears, round copper coloured eyes, broad nose with a good break, well rounded cheeks and a deep chin.  His bite is a little undershot and on the limit of what is acceptable to me.  His soft, silky coat is a really lovely pale cream colour and almost sound to the roots.  2.  HUTCHINSON’S CH HERRAFARESIAH BUTTER BALL.

AC Champion Male:  1. HUTCHINSON’S CH HERRAFARESIAH BUTTER BALL.

AC Novice Adult, Male:  1. HOLDEN’S CHIMBA SEABISCUIT.  (3) 23/02/04.  Blue male aged almost five and a really good cobby shape to his body with very heavy bone and a short tail.  He has a nicely rounded top of head with neat ears set well apart, round deep orange eyes, a bit heavy browed, broad nose with a deep break, almost level bite, well rounded cheeks and a strong chin.  His soft coat is a medium blue colour with excellent preparation although it is not perfectly sound at the moment as it shows dark at the roots and then a band of paler colour half way up the hair.   Female:  1. MERCHANT’S BARRKUDOS KISSEDBYABREEZE.  (51d) 27/08/07.  Red Shaded Cameo with a nice shape to her body, good bone and a tail length in proportion.  She has a nice head shape with very neat ears, round orange eyes, a broad nose with a good break, nice fat cheeks and a strong chin.  Unfortunately she has the bottom left canine missing and her bottom jaw is slightly off to the left.  Her soft silky coat is of good length with lovely even red tipping and a very pale undercoat to her body.  The tipping on her face is a little heavier.  Lovely temperament.

AC Junior Adult, Male:  1. PRIESTLEY’S SHIMBA EYECATCHER.  Female:  1. ROGERS’ CH MILNUSS ELLIEANNA2.  HOLDEN’S SEMNI STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE.  (4) 04/07/07.  Red with a lovely cobby shape to her body, good bone and a tail length in proportion.  Well rounded head that would benefit from more width between ears that she was holding a little upright on the day.  Round orange eyes, very short broad nose with a deep break, undershot bite, fat cheeks and a strong chin.  She had a medium length well presented coat of very rich red, almost sound to the roots.  It is really nice to see a red with such a good colour to the coat.

AC Debutante Kitten, Male:  1. PRIEST’S MARLEESH AUREUS.  (70/74) 17/09/08.  This kitten was such a playful cutie that almost all the judges (and stewards) would have taken him home!  He had a good cobby shape to his body with nice bone and a short tail.   His lovely round head had tiny ears set well apart, huge two-tone green eyes, broad snub nose, level bite, fat cheeks and a strong chin.  His soft coat was plush and stood out well from his body.  He had a nice golden coloured undercoat with even black tipping.  His coat did show a lot of acceptable tabby markings.  Fabulous temperament.  Female.  1.  BRAY’S LORINA PEACHESNCREAM.  (54) 06/08/08.  Attractive five months old Golden female of good type with a compact cobby shape to her body, strong bone, short fat legs, and a short tail.  Her round head is not perfectly smooth but she has good width between neat ears, large two-tone aqua coloured eyes, a broad nose with a good break, level bite, well rounded cheeks and a good depth of chin.  She has a full coat, soft and well prepared with an apricot undercoat and a pale chin and whisker pads.  The base of the undercoat was a slightly grey and a little cold across her shoulders and on her flanks.  Her very full tail is more heavily tipped than her body.  The tipping to her body is light and even and it is just a little heavier on her face.  The back of her legs to the heels were solid black.  All her paw pads are black and she had a deep brick red nose leather.  Wonderful temperament and lovely to handle.  Well worth her placing.  2.  PRIEST’S MARLEESH FAITH.  (70/52) 17/09/08.  Attractive Tipped Exotic with fabulous type.  She had a compact cobby shape to her body with good bone and a short tail.  Her round head had neat ears set well apart, huge expressive two-tone aqua eyes, a very short broad nose, level bite, round cheeks and a chin that could perhaps be a little stronger.  Her soft coat was a wonderful length and texture with a lovely white undercoat and light even tipping throughout. Another real cutie.  3.  PAUL’S BUSTAPUS STERLING SILVER. (10) 14/09/08.

AC Non-Breeders Neuter Self, Male:  1.  JOHNSTON’S PR SSAFASEC THUNDER.  (3) 06/06/07.  Well built Blue male with a good shape to his body, heavy bone and a tail length in proportion.  Nicely rounded head with neat ears set well apart, pale orange eyes, broad nose with a good break, his bite is just a little overshot, fat cheeks and a strong chin.  His good length medium blue coat is soft and well prepared, almost sound with some staining on his bib, a pale full frill.  The blue gets a little darker on his back towards his tail as a result of some old coat and darker guard hairs.  Lovely temperament.

Household Pets

Tabby, Tabby & White Royal Canin Stakes:  1. RUTTER’S BRACKEN Brown Tortie Tabby female aged 18 months.  She had lovely green eyes with an alert expression.  She was not overly happy to be out of her pen but she could be handled.  Her soft silky coat was prepared to perfection and the colours and markings in the coat were fabulous.

Any Variety Cat or Kitten with Most Unusual Coat Pattern.  1. HUTCHINSON’S LILYBETH MC.  Four year old female who was obviously of Bengal type.  The coat pattern and colours were stunning and she had bright aqua coloured eyes.  She wasn’t too happy to be out of her pen.  Her condition and presentation were a credit to the owners.
AC Rescued Stray Adult or Kitten:  1. PLANT’S SILVER SAM.  A Chinchilla type male aged 8 years who I understand was in an appalling state when the current owners rescued him.  It’s to their credit that he looks as wonderful as he does and he went on the get best HP in show.  He’s a real love, in fabulous condition with pale green eyes and a full coat showing excellent preparation.  A real big softy to handle.

This girl has a good top of head, neat well set ears with long silvery tufts, smooth skull, round copper eyes, short nose, full cheeks, firm chin & level bite. At 3.1/2 years I feel she is lightweight & today very much out of coat, I deliberated about giving her the PC but she is so obviously a black smoke that I overlooked the lack of coat. Ash white undercoat displayed in all areas although grey at the roots down her spine, black topcoat. I would like better preparation but feel her owner had done the best in the circumstances. Handled well.

AC VISITORS ADULT FEMALE:
1 HOLDEN'S SEMNI STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, 4, 4.7.07, Red Self. At 18 months this girl was a good weight, shape & size, short fat legs & tail. Good top of head complimented by neat well set ears, small round copper eyes, short nose with nostrils that could have been cleaner, full cheeks, firm chin & level bite that runs off very slightly to the left, her tongue was out constantly during judging. Coat quite full with good preparation, rich deep sound red to face & back, paler ruff & tail, displaying some tabby markings to legs, flanks & tail which is normal for a red. Tail beginning to develop red among the black, legs & feet have shades of red with the black being sound. A beautiful baby that shows much promise.
2 BRAY'S LORINA PEACHES'N'CREAM, 54, 4.6.08, Golden. Another very nice kitten with a profuse coat, good top of head, dinky well set ears, smooth skull, round pale emerald eyes, cheeks quite full for age, firm chin & slightly undershot bite. Fairly full coat which was well prepared apart from the dark guard hairs on her flanks & spine, this spoilt the overall appearance & made her look much darker than she actually was. Under the guard hairs the body flanks coat was intermingled & of a medium blue & cream, head has cream patch above nose, top of head appearing rather blue at moment, blue ears with faint signs of cream, tail showing cream & blue intermingling, left front leg showing more cream although intermingled with blue, all legs & feet showing both colours, right back foot has cream patch underneath.
