My thanks to Julia, and the respective assistant show managers of all the clubs involved, for the judging invitation. With 4 shows back-to-back it filled the hall well, and with a variety of different breeds, it made interesting viewing for visitors. My good friend Jane Francis Wilson stepped in to steward for me at the last minute, she worked very hard indeed, including BIS and completed what turned out to be a very enjoyable day, so many thanks Jane.
OPEN CLASSES
Siamese Female Grand Premier
1st – Reed’s IMP GD CH & UK IMP GD PR JOHPAS GLAMNGLITZ (32b8) 17/04/02
What a shame there was no certificate to give today. Looking lovely today and almost back to her best - apart from the slight loss of pigment on her ears. Super head with excellent top line and very large wide based ears set to continue the lines of the wedge. Excellent strong profile and firm chin, bite untidy with several incisors missing now but looked level. Very good shape set and expression to eyes with good blue colour. Well defined neck line, good length to body with good weight and tone today. Sludgy toned lilac based caramel points, well mingled overall in pale apricot that could ideally be hotter in tone. Good coat for length and texture, lightly shaded overall to tone. Perfect to handle and beautifully presented.
A.C. Oriental Bicolour Female Adult
1st & BOB – Ralph’s KATAMOUNTIN PICK ANDMIX (48e) 10/06/08. A most attractive female of very good type. Medium length wedge, top of head okay but could be marginally wider for balance, ears large flared and set to follow. Oriental eye shape and set with very good clear green colour. Strong profile and firm chin with level bite. Long slender body , elegant yet substantial with an excellent firm tone to it, long elegant limbs and super long tail to balance. Attractive tortie pattern, rich red patches set against the glossy black, white areas are correct insofar as they do show on head limbs and completely underneath, but with the tummy stripe narrow and the legs predominantly the base colour, it is border line that she has the required one third white. Fabulous texture to coat, very short and close - absolutely gleaming with condition. Rather wriggly but not unfriendly. Excellently presented.

Siamese Kitten bred by exhibitor
1st – Meekings’ RANTIPOLE ENIGMA (32t8) F 06/12/08. A well grown female of lovely type. Stylish head with excellent expression and colour to eyes. Good solid feel to long elegant body, with long whip tail to balance. Points colouring rather soft and pale for a caramel tortie tabby, but as the base colour only really shows clearly on the tips of the ears and on the tail at this stage it is difficult to be sure, but she may very well turn out to be lilac rather than lilac based caramel. Tabby pattern looks good where it shows with thumb prints and very good tail rings. Perfect to handle and excellently presented.
Senior Oriental Neuter
1st – Smith’s MOUSTACHES CARAMELLE TWIST (37n) MN 13/09/03. A dear old friend looking very dignified on his blankets today. A very large boy of very good type, slightly plumptious today but still elegant. Longer wedge head, top line good and the large ears are well set. Strong profile and chin. Super eye colour. This boy excels for coat, clear & sound, lilac based caramel with excellent brownish over tones – no doubt his cinnamon ancestry has something to do with that, length and texture excellent. easy to handle.
A.V. Visitors Neuter
1st – Clarke’s HARTZIE GOLDEN CHANCE (32fn) MN 08/09/07. A stylish boy but not in the best of moods today I have to say. Very good head for type and style with very good top and large ears set to balance. Super eye colour for an apricot and the points are really hot in tone – overall the effect between the two is very attractive. Excellently presented.
2nd – Greeno’s PR SHERMESE CARAMIA (24n) FN 11/03/05. A most attractive little queen, dainty and stylish. Well balanced head with wide top and very large ears excellently set. Excellent points and eye colour – good to see two very good examples of the Dm cats in this class. Sweet natured and excellently presented.
Thanks must go to Julia / Liz / Joan and the respective
committees for inviting me to these lovely shows and of course the exhibitors
for entering their lovely cats for me to see, I also thank James for stewarding,
the cats really relaxed with him and I really enjoyed our day.

Tortie point Siamese Adult 1 entry
1st BOB Ellam's Laziza Kismet 32/B8 Female- 31/05/08
Balanced lady of good type, medium balanced wedge head, very slight pinch
to muzzle, straight profile and firm chin with level bite, firm long elegant
body with fine limbs and dainty paws, well broken points in a very dark
Blue based caramel with varying shades of apricot, I have to say that
I would prefer more brownish tones to the points, the coat was warm in
tone and the overall impression was of a caramel tortie point. Her eyes
although of a good deep blue were held full when in and out of pen, I
put this down to temper as she was a bit of a madam. In lovely condition
and well presented.
Apricot Point Adult (Male)
1st and BOB Reed's Amyday Sunspangled (32FN) M 18/07/08
Well what can I say!!! Superbly stylish and flashy youngster of the most
glorious type! And the most endearing temperament. Not the largest as
yet but he is only 10 months and on the day looked it. Longer wedge head
with huge flared jug handle ears with very wide top, Straight Romanesque
profile with firm chin with a lovely beard and level bite. He was very
clever in using his neck and showed off beautifully when I handled him.
Very long elegant body with fine boned limbs and dainty paws. Apricot
points developing well with good dusting evident on face and ears and
tail with tabby markings showing on all points although not prominent.
His eyes, being hypercritical were a shade deep set for my taste although
they were of a good colour. With lovely expression and shape. Long whipped
tail with small deviation at the tip. Overall a lovely young man who needs
to grown on but has so much to offer, I look forward to meeting him again
and shall follow his career with great interest.
Caramel Point Neuter Male (2 Entries)
1st BOB Greeno's Shermese Azamour (24N) MN 10/04/05
Stylish boy of very good type longer wedge head with wide top and large
flared ears to balance almost straight profile with firm chin and level
bite. Eyes of excellent oriental shape and set and also of very good colour
showing a slight intermittent Siamese expression. Long muscular body with
good close lying coat that was very slight tonal shading in keeping with
his very good lilac based caramel points that showed good taupe tones
and were all even and well matched. Long whip tail to balance and long
elegant limbs and dainty paws for a large boy. A handsome boy who looked
the part today and had for me the best point's colour of the caramels
present. Well deserving of the BOB.
2nd Cosgrove's Pr Bethanjo Theodore (24N) MN 18/06/07
Quite a Handsome boy of very good type. Huge well muscled and well developed
body. Medium wedge with large ears that were slightly bonneted when out
of the pen slight pinch to muzzle with almost straight profile and firm
chin and level bite. He had a slightly bland expression for me and his
eyes ideally could be deeper in colour. Blue based caramel points colour
that I would prefer to show more brown tones and to create the overall
impression of a caramel as in the available light he had a tendency looked
a very dark blue! His coat was quite shaded but this was warm in tone
and gave a good brownish effect. This boy had a lovely endearing temperament
and was presented in pristine condition, a credit to his owner.
For BOB only Greeno's Pr Shermese Caramia (24N) FN 11/03/05
Dainty lady with good type looking far younger than her years and in fact
looking a mite immature! Good Lilac based caramel point's colour that
was well developed and defined. She looked far better when relaxed in
her pen. Lovely eyes for expression when relaxed and good deep blue. Shorter
medium wedge shaped head with wide top and good large flared ears with
slightly angular profile. Needs more depth of skull. Just overshadowed
slightly by her stable companion today.
Tabby Point Siamese Female Neuter
1st BOB IMP GR PR Foxtwist Moppet (32/8) FN 17/11/97
Mature Lady of very good type in excellent condition for her age soft
muted lilac based caramel tabby points all well defined with visible M
and facial tracings with well ringed tail and clear bracelets. Excellent
expressive eyes of very good vivid colour for age, large well set ears
with medium balance wedge elegant body very trim and belying her years,
coat of excellent texture slightly long but very clear and unshaded. Slightly
thick whip tail that needs an inch. Overall a very sweet lady looking
good for her age.
Tortie Point Female Neuter
For BOB Only Awarded BOB Reed's IMP GR CH & UK IMP GR PR Johpas Glamnglitz
(32B8) FN 17/04/02
Lovely lady very elegant and stylish with perfect manners. Beautiful eyes
for colour/shape and expression. Lilac based caramel tortie points colour
all well mingled with shades of apricot, her ears looked a lot paler as
if she was losing pigment but this did not detract. Long elegant body
with long limbs and long whip tail to balance. Very lightly shaded coat
which was slightly long but a lovely texture. Still looking great at 7
years old!
Apricot Point Male Neuter
1st BOB Clarke's Hartzie Golden Chance (32FN) MN 08/09/07
Stylish lad of very good overall type long wedge with wide set flared
ears, almost roman profile, with firm chin and level bite. Lovely oriental
eyes of excellent set and good deep colour, long elegant body with long
whipped tail to balance with very slight pip at the tip. Good apricot
points showing good density and hot in tone with dusting highlighting
the tabby markings on face and legs , creamy white body with close smooth
lying coat well presented. Rather a grump today obviously had got out
of the wrong side of his bed.

Impressive classy lady of gorgeous overall type, Lovely size for a lady
with super balance between elegance and substance - not often seen! Lovely
Expressive eyes of good colour of excellent shape and set with longer
wedge well balance with huge flyaway ears and very wide top. Red points
that could show a fraction more strength as they appeared somewhat pale
on her legs and ears although she is probably seal based and this would
explain! Huge long elegant body in super condition with long whip to balance
and long elegant limbs. Gorgeous short fine coat gleaming with condition.
She has a lovely nature and came out for a cuddle then reclined on her
throne as she has seen it all before! A super lady far too big to fit
in my pocket!
Male Adult
1st Mullen's Foxypaws Ericsson (32FN) M 01/06/08
Handsome boy of very good overall type, Longer wedge head with large set
ears on wide top, straight profile and firm chin with scissor over bite
- slightly heavy brow therefore creating the effect that the eyes were
deep set. Long muscular body with long limbs and fine dainty paws. Gorgeous
coat like ermine beautifully prepared and shining with condition. Points
colour was requiring slightly more development at this stage the hot tones
were evident and I would like to see more dusting to further the effect.
He is young and has time to develop this. He is superbly masculine well
developed for his age and was in lovely condition.
Female Adult
1st Meeking's Gr Ch Firousi Freedspirit (32C) F 26/03/03
Lovely mature girl of super overall type large well set ears with slight
dip in profile now and level bite, firm chin.Long elegant body with long
limbs and whip tail to balance. Lovely powder cream points well developed
and cool. Lovely freckles on her nose now and she still has that snooty
expression which I love. He coat was somewhat longer than I would prefer
and a touch dry. Her eyes were beautifully set and of very good oriental
shape bit for me were far too pale for the standard and lacked vibrancy.
Overall an attractive stylish lady.
2nd Lewindon's Verasonia Sutilang Mai (32/1) F 23/11/07
Pretty lady of lovely colour warm seal tabby points that were well developed
with clear M and thumb prints and clear leg bracelets and well ringed
tail. Medium wedge head with slight dip in profile with firm chin and
level bite. Slightly full eyes of lovely deep blue colour but when relaxed
they were oriental in set and shape and showed good expression. Lovely
condition and short well groomed coat, a slightly shy lady presented beautifully.
Red/Cream/Tortie/Cream or Apricot Point Breeders Kitten
1st Reed's Johpas Fatboy Slim (32c) M 12/02/09 Handsome Flashy baby of
super type with huge flared jug handle ears with very wide top that on
the odd occasion he could tip over at the ends - but he did hold them
correctly. Lovely eyes of very good colour and slightly worried expression.
Developing profile and firm chin with level bite. Very well grown and
confident for his age. Super coat of lovely texture, cream points slightly
dark but well defined, overall a super stylish boy ran closely by his
sister but I just preferred his overall look.
2nd Reed's Johpas Ruby Tallulah (32a) F 12/02/09
Super baby of lovely type and style shorter medium wedge with large well
set ears on wide top, almost straight profile with firm chin and bite
and lovely well developed body for age with short fine baby coat in super
condition. Bright red points well defined and developing well.
3rd Dent's Draculita Angelique (32a) F 09/11/08
Pretty lady of very good type just pipped by the two younger flashy siblings.
Elegant type with medium wedge head slightly fine at the muzzle, straight
profile and firm chin with level bite just needing more depth to head.
Eyes of very good colour that she could on occasion round them when out
of the pen but when she relaxed they were of good shape and expression.
Lovely bright red clearly defined points with ringed tail and well matched.
Visitors Kitten
1st Janicki's Shermese Life O'Riley (32/1) MN 10/09/08
Stylish boy with lovely expression and superior snooty look. Longer wedge
slightly fine at muzzle with large flared ears on wide top. Almost straight
profile with firm chin and level bite, long body with slightly plump tummy
(enjoys his dinner) Long well ringed tail with clear well defined seal
tabby points with Dark but warm seal M and Bracelets with thumb prints
and facial tracings. Long elegant limbs and spoon paws, Needing a smidge
more masculinity at 8 .5 months.
2nd Meeking's Rantipole Enigma (32t8) F 06/12/08
Attractive pretty lady of very good overall type aptly named and I did
not think she looked caramel in the light in the hall she looked to me
to be Lilac! For me although she is a tortie tabby and the markings appear
more diffused the base colour was more pinky lilac than the desired toffee
toned caramel and at 6 months this should be heading towards the latter.
I felt that marking her as wrong colour was not necessary due to her age
.After discussing my opinion with a Full Judge of the Breed they were
also of the same opinion- I will be interested to see how she develops.
Junior Neuter
1st Esterford-Howard's Ch & Pr Mapu Malachite (32/8) MN 18/06/07
A Handsome and attractive cat but still for me looks immature and slightly
effeminate for his age, he is incredibly well balanced and has a gorgeous
expressive eyes of the most wonderful colour, deep and violet blue lovely
shape and oriental setting. Shorter medium balanced wedge with slight
muzzle pinch at present almost straight profile with large well set ears
with wide top, would prefer a smidge more flare. Medium length body that
really needs a bit more length a muscle tone, he was perfectly presented.
Slightly thick tail that was whipped to balance . Lilac based caramel
tabby points all well matched and traced showing good M and facial tracings
with clear leg bars and tail 2/3rds ringed. Overall a handsome boy well
shown with perfect manners.
2nd Cullin's Shermese Elijah (32/2) MN 03/11/07
Rather small for his age and again rather effeminate for a boy, Shorter
wedge with rather blunt muzzle and large ears that require more space
between, eyes of excellent shape and colour with correct oriental setting.
Slight dip to profile with firm chin and level bite. Long slightly fine
body again needs more muscle tone and overall masculinity, tiny dainty
paws and fine limbs with long whip tail to balance. Points of a very dark
blue tabby with a dingy tone in the available light and a warm fawn coat
that does not have the desired cold tone. In the available light the impression
for me was a very dark blue. His coat was a mite long and could have been
more close lying but it was fairly late in the day when I handled him
and was very warm in the hall so this could have been the reason. A sweet
boy well presented.

1st Muir-Taylor's Sup UK Imp Gr Pr Tianlex Full Monty (32c)MN 14/03/03
Still looking fabulous inordinately handsome cat of super type with long
wedge set with very large wide set flared ears, super eyes of excellent
colour and expression that can look deep set but I would prefer this to
having them too wide! Lovely snooty look with air of importance which
ofcourse he should have! Straight very long profile with firm chin and
level bite. Lovely depth to head and beautiful neckline which he continues
to use to his advantage. Long muscular body a bit larger than the last
time we met but looking good and still has elegance, very long elegant
limbs and dainty paws with a long whip tail to balance. His points are
a darker cream but all well matched and defined with a coolness and powdery
effect on tail and ears. Still a firm favourite and a complete showman
lovely to see him.
2nd Talbot's Pr Moralyn Redarrow (32a) MN 04/03/07
Large boy of very good type with large well set ears on medium wedge almost
straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good colour that
were held a bit full and lacked expression slightly for me, he had a lovely
temperament, and was presented beautifully with a long muscular body and
short well groomed coat. Long limbs and whip tail to balance. Well presented.

1st Reed's Withajay JustforJohpas (32b8) F 07.02.09 Flashy young miss
well grown for age with Huge ears posing on her lovely bed. Short wedge
as yet needing to lengthen as she grows. Huge very wide set ears very
wide at base that she did on occasion bonnet slightly . Eyes of good shape
and set when relaxed that were expressive and of a good colour. Lilac
based caramel points with apricot mingling developing on all points looking
a bit solid on her face but there were breaks and on feet and whisker
pads, long tail with slight pip at tip. Gorgeous confident temperament
so composed for one so young, will be interested to see how she develops.
Lovely presentation.

Many thanks to all who combined do make these shows work, certainly gives a greater degree of interest to all concerned with the amount of variety present. To Julia for being in attendance, Joan Pounds for both the Breed 32 & the Caramel & Apricot Federation, Liz Corps for the Balinese Cat Society & Sue Amor for the Tonkinese Cat Club, congratulations also on their 1st Championship Show. I would very much like to thank Irene Roos for travelling just to steward & her good company throughout the day. The sun shone outside & there was a very pleasant atmosphere inside, this is the area were breed shows excel always much more informal & relaxed.
Breed 32;
Tortie Point Adult;
1st CC & BOB. ELLAMS’S LAZIZA KISMET. 32b 8. 31-05-08. Caramel, I did have a degree of deliberation over the colour of this young girl & left the final decision till quite late. Whilst still to achieve a degree of maturity, she is in the main well balanced overall & has a pleasing look & style. Balanced even wedge of medium length, very good profile quite good chin, level bite. Ears large well flared, excellent set. Eyes a fraction wide but nonetheless the shape & set were both oriental, colour by no means pale I would have preferred a little more intense blue. Body lithe & dainty yet with a good firm tone & weight, slender limbs, small neat paws, good well balanced fine whip tail. Excellent coat, it was quite short & very close lying, well prepared, lovely texture. Body has mottled shading, but still more than adequate contrast to the cool more bluey toned points which require more brownish overlay to the tone, these are well broken & the there are some slightly hotter tones evident (so could well indicate Apricot) I felt obliged to give a degree of leeway as a result. Her condition was excellent, a little worried & not completely relaxed.
AC Tabby Point Adult;
1st PUMMELL’S CH FURRYFACE ATHENA. 32/3. 08-07-06. Chocolate, pleasing well balanced girl. Type very good with balanced even lines the wedge, profile whilst not perfectly straight did not detract, the chin & bite both good. Ears are large & well set with the wide base creating a complementary harmony with the wedge. Eyes excellent shape & slant, very good bright deep blue tone, pleasing expression. Whilst not an overly large girl she is still firm & weighty with a good degree of elegance, slender limbs, neat paws, fine well balanced tail. Coat well prepared, short & very close lying, sleek texture. Quite a shady body but still with a very good degree of contrast, spotted whisker pads, single cheek ribbon on each side, quite a good ‘M’, some thumbprints, well marked leg bracelets & some rings on the tail better towards the tip. Her chocolate colour rather cool toned, requiring the benefit of warmth to brighten a little, dark chocolate heel markings & tail tip. Very relaxed & in excellent condition.
Kitten 14 weeks – 6 months;
1st REED’S JOHPAS FATBOYSLIM. 32c. 12-02-09. Cream, very flashy type youngster. Strong head with a boy’s skull already evident with its broad slightly rounded top, excellent wedge, slightly undulating developing profile not altogether out of keeping with his age, good chin the gums swollen due to teething. Huge ears, very wide flared base, set low with slightly tilted tips, which in the fullness of time he will no doubt grow into more. The eyes are marginally small as yet, with pleasing slant, lovely deep intense blue colour, lovely expression. Body for his young age is really firm & weighty with the promise of size to follow, has quite a lump at present on the back of the neck which the DV confirmed was a vaccination reaction, well proportioned legs & paws, tail fine but needs to lengthen a little more. Coat for a baby of his age, was short & very close, the texture excellent, well presented. Creamy near white body colour, minimal colour on his legs as yet, soft powdery cream on the mask & ears, slihgtly warmer on the tail but not to infer hot. Beautifully presented, excellent condition & temperament.
Marked as Wrong Colour. MEEKINGS’S RANTIPOLE ENIGMA. 32t 8. entered as Caramel Tortie Tabby Point but should in my opinion be Lilac Tortie Tabby Point 32t 4. now there’s an enigma for you. 06-12-08. Very attractive young miss if not quite the best of temperaments. Head has a very even strong wedge, very good profile, good chin, bite unchecked. Ears are large, very well set, wide at the base to complement the wedge. Lovely eyes, oriental in both shape & slant, vivid blue colour, slightly wicked expression (prepared to follow through). Body is firm & with excellent lithe tone the length developing well, slim legs, neat oval paws, well balanced fine tail. Excellent coat quality, short & very close lying, sleek sheen to give finish. Body has completely clear delicate magnolia hue, contrast to her points quite subtle due the soft tone, the base colour appears to be lilac & possesses a soft pinky tone to her facial markings & the tail colour in particular, Tortie factor is as yet extremely subtle & may well be softening the colour but I could see no evidence to support the term Caramel (but I’ve been wrong in the past & may be again today). Facial tracings & tail rings both very pleasing, nothing to speak of in regard to leg bracelets again indicating Lilac as opposed to Caramel. Excellent condition, but not very amenable.
Kitten 6- 9 months; 2 very stylish kittens, both with qualities to admire & I really don’t think there is a right or wrong way to place them against each other, in my own case it was the profile & wonderful expression of the winner which clinched it today……....tomorrow who knows.
1st JANICKI’S SHERMESE LIFE O’RILEY. 32/1. 10-09-08. Seal Tabby Point, dilemma, I have to overcome my own prejudice, he is a very stylish exhibit but I would prefer a little more masculinity head on. His wedge has good length & the lines are even & well balanced but a little too androgynous for my taste, however the profile is superb & as good as it gets, good chin, bite marginal. Wide well flared base to his ears which doe complement his wedge, the set is excellent & they are also excellent for size. Stunning eyes, absolutely gorgeous intense deep blue, shape & set both essentially oriental, such an intense expression of superiority. Elegant neckline, lithe long body which again attributes to his lack of masculinity in that it has not yet attained the degree of hard muscle tone that one expects of a boy, slender limbs, dainty paws, excellent long fine whip like tail. Coat short & very close lying, sleek satiny finish. Body showing some shading but not enough to detract in any way, well defined tracings on the head, limbs & tail, very good cheek ribbons, well marked heels, his colour could perhaps have a little more warmth. His condition immaculate & he was such a very composed young lad to handle.
2nd SIMPSON’S MAFDET LOVEMUFFIN. 32/3. 29-09-08. Chocolate tabby Point, very stylish young lady with a very good degree of potential. Excellent wedge, not overly long but beautifully even, has a slight depression over the brow which is actually more visible than is the case when felt, this creates a slihgtly ‘Roman’ profile, chin good, bite good. Large ears, with wide well flared base to complement the wedge, excellent set. Lovely beautiful shape & slant, quite a sultry expression, very good deep blue colour. Body is lithe & elegant with slender limbs, small neat paws, fine whiptail requires a little more length. Lovely sleek, close lying well prepared coat of very good short length, super finish. Clear delicate light ivory coloured body excellent contrast to the tracings, very good ribbons on the cheeks, clear ‘M’, very good thumbprints on the ears, leg bracelets & tail rings both in evidence. The chocolate has an excellent degree of richness if a little darker but well within what I think is acceptable. Her condition was excellent & her temperament very genteel.
Tabby Point Breeders Neuter;
1st GREENLAND’S MOONFLETT BILLET DOUX. 32/5. 19-06-08. Red, a very handsome & well grown lad who loses out to some degree due to his rather innocent expression. Head has a strong well balanced even wedge, very good profile, good depth chin, bite good albeit the gums a little red. The ears are large with wide flare to their base, set wide & quite low completing the balance. Eyes are a good oriental shape & slant just widens a mite which gives a very bland rather kittenish expression not becoming a lad of his size, the eye colour itself a very good blue. Good neckline, lovely strong well muscled body of very good length, well proportioned legs & paws, tail of well balanced length to finish. Coat close & very sleek, well prepared very good shorter length, excellent texture. Slight reddish glow of shading to the body, his tracings quite bright where present but could be a little more defined, cheek stripes & leg bracelets in particular. His condition was excellent & he was a calm relaxed lad, with the advantage of a little more maturity he should look much improved.
Tabby Point, Non-Breeders Neuter;
1st STONE’S PR SHIMILEETA ZIRCONIUM NEO. 32/1. 29-12-06. Seal Tabby Point, really well muscled lad of overall very good type. Good length wedge broad muzzle but requires a little more width across the top to balance a little better, profile has a small break & also a bump on the nose, good depth chin, marginal over bite. Ears large & good wide base, he is inclined to bonnet a little which detracts. Eyes though a good basic oriental shape & slant are little on the wider side, he tends to look a little startled, the colour a very good deep blue tone. Good length of neck, long hard well muscled body, well proportioned legs & paws, good length of tail to balance. Excellent coat, well prepared, the texture sleek & well finished, close lying. Body is lightly shaded with very good contrast to the tracings, well marked cheek ribbons, clear ‘M’, showing thumbprints on the ears, good leg bracelets, tail brindled at the base but the rings better towards the solid coloured tip, well coloured hocks. The overall colour a very good warmth to it, his nose leather quite a bright pink & his front paw pads rather chocolate tone. Condition excellent, but appears to be a little retiring.
2nd CULLIN’S SHERMESE ELIJAH. 32/2. 03-11-07. Blue, looking a little too effeminate for my taste, but not unattractive. Short wedge, even lines sharpening a little too finely on the muzzle, profile requires a little more strength, shallow chin, bite over. Ears quite large, flared wide base & very well set. Eyes are a very good shape but a little too dominant for the head proportions, the colour a really deep vivid blue, expression lacks that touch of superiority that gives the such a haughty look. Body rather dainty & fine boned, slim legs, neat paws, fine tail but rather short. Coat though a mite on the longer side was well prepared & lay close. His tracings were good, showing cheek stripes & good ‘M’, well marked leg bracelets, quite good tail rings, body very extensively shaded & showing a fair amount of pattern as a result the contrast is not well defined. Wonderful temperament & condition.

BOB Not Awarded. 1st HART’S HARTRIDGE HEVENLYSOLITAIRE.
20-12-08. Quite a dainty miss, who requires a little more style. Head type is generally very good, the wedge whilst not long was balanced, very good profile, good depth chin but the bite a little undershot. Ears are okay for size but require a more flared appearance at their base, they could also be slightly wider in set. Eyes marginally wide & a little straighter in set, colour requiring a more intense depth of blue but not to imply pale. Body though I would prefer her a little better grown was firm, good legs & pleasing dainty paws, tail requires a little more length & the plume obviously still to develop. Coat is showing obvious SLH characteristics with its fluffy wispy edges & generally longer length. Coat a clear near white tone, her points are a very good bright red & are very promising, the contrast well defined. Her condition was very good, a very calm gentle miss.
Tortie Point Balinese Kitten;
1st & BOB. BROWNING’S PIPPASTRO A LOVE O’FAIR. 61p. 24-01-09. Caramel, charming little baby. Very promising head type, quite a short wedge, with slight kitten pinch which is probably due to teething, has a very slight break in profile, good chin & bite, her gums swollen. Lovely ears, most beautifully set, wide base & good for size. Excellent eyes shape & set, the colour has a very good depth of blue just perhaps a slightly duller tone. At only four months she has a lovely tone, & was well proportioned, with good legs & paws, tail still to lengthen a little more. Lovely soft coat which despite its baby fluffiness was showing very good length, with wispy fronds at the base of the ears, some britches also evident with a good length over the body indicating there was no doubt she was a ‘Balinese’. Slightly cool toned body colour, excellent degree of contrast to the points, the points were a slightly sludgy taupe tone of Caramel with cooler shades of Apricot present, albeit it a little less evident on the left front paw, slightly bluish mauve toned nose leather. She was I understand Best Balinese Kitten. Her condition & presentation both excellent, wonderfully confident little person, very appealing.
Novice Kitten;
1st HART’S HARTRIDGE HEVENLYSOLITAIRE. 61d.
2nd WHITBY’S PIPPASTRO TOP GUN. 61b. 12-12-08. Chocolate, pity to have place this kitten down as his type is most pleasing. Very good length wedge, with very good even lines, promising profile strength, strong chin, teething. Ears large & well set, good flare to their base to complement his wedge, beautifully set. Eyes have very good oriental shape & slant, the colour a pleasing depth of blue, he did have the occasional squint which is in all probability attributable to teething, his expression very good. Body is firm & developing both length & muscularity, sadly monorchid at present (DV confirmed), good legs, quite large paws as yet which he will ultimately grow into, his tail has very good length whip, still to develop his fuller plume (perfectly in keeping with his age) small but definite kink near the tip. Most beautiful soft silky coat, with obvious SLH development in relation to age, wispy fringes, small tufts on the paws. Excellent clear ivory colour to the body, contrast to his points is also excellent, the points though a little dark possessed a reasonable degree of warmth. His condition was excellent & he was such a very trusting gentle fellow.
Non-Pedigree;
Friendliest Neuter or Kitten;
1st TOLHURST’S MC HEIDI (dgm). 5years 10 months. Tortie Tabby & White, extremely attractive lady with wonderful manners, which is actually what this class heading is all about. A lovely lady, she is definitely a little more rounded in the tummy but I have to confess it suits her. Lovely face, very expressive, such a trusting look, large eyes of a very good clear green tone, clean ears, healthy looking gums. Rich bright colours, clean sparkling white areas all sharply defined. Excellent coat. An extremely gentle lady.
2nd LEWIS’S MR TIGGA. 2 years, down as Classic Tabby but actually Linked Spotted not that it makes a deal of difference. Large chap well put together & obviously if there are fights at the food bowl he wins. Green eyes of a bright tone, healthy pink gums, clean white teeth, ears require a little more attention. Soft bouncy coat, well prepared, showing elongated spotted pattern with stripes more apparent on one side, attractive facial markings. His condition excellent, he grumbles a little so lost brownie points.
Caramel & Apricot Federation;
AV Debutante Kitten;
1st REED’S WITHAJAY JUSTFORJOHPAS. 32b 8. 07-02-09. Caramel Tortie Point, looking extremely flashy in the pen albeit perhaps a little OTT. If ears were everything she would certainly be very high up the list & could certainly prove to be a huge asset in certain quarters. Head has a wide wedge but a little on the shorter side, with slight muzzle pinch, small dip in profile, good chin & the bite is good, teething. Huge ears which she carries a little too low & tends to bonnet a little though this is possibly exacerbated due to the tips tilting over, extremely wide flare to their base were her head a little longer she would be able to carry the effect better. Her eyes in keeping with the ears are a little on the smaller side & also a touch deep & straight in set, very good depth of blue from what could be ascertained. Body is a very good size & weight for her very young age, good legs & paws, tail still to lengthen more & has a small irregularity at its tip. Still very much the baby coat, well prepared just a little wispy as yet. Body colour has that slight touch of dinginess (not flattering I know) that indicates Caramel, as opposed to the warm glow for lilac her points have the slight brownish cast to the base colour of taupe, with shades of slightly cool toned Apricot, the points all showing some breaks Albeit some more obvious than others. Her condition & presentation were both excellent, quite a confident little miss, with a lovely personality, will be interesting to see how she develops.
Tonkinese Cat Club;
Brown or Chocolate (including Tortie or Tabby) Adult;
1st MACEY’S CH FECHELDEE GEORGIEGIRL. 74h. 02-02-04. Chocolate Tortie, lovely degree of maturity this madam has. Moderate wedge, slight whisker pinch slightly longer nose, gentle break at the eye line, slight roll off at the nose, chin good, untidy bite, some gingivitis. Ears pricked slightly forward, oval on the tips, slightly angled set. Full almond shaped eyes with gentle slant to the nose, good larger sized, bluish green colour. Beautifully toned firm well proportioned body, slender limbs & neat paws, medium length gently tapering tail. Super coat, short & very close lying, lovely sleek finish, subtle soft sheen. Most attractive colour of warm chocolate with quite a lot of varying shades of red present throughout, deepening towards the extremities providing subtle merge of colour. Her condition was splendid, albeit a little of he moody side.
2nd CHAPPLE’S ANTIKPATINA PRUNELLA. 74t. 13-08-08. Brown Tabby, still looking very much the young adolescent which she is. Head with its moderate wedge of medium length, gentle but definite whisker break, quite a good muzzle, gentle rounding on the brow with small break in profile, excellent chin, good bite. Ears Medium size, slight forward pricked appearance & oval tips. Eyes large & slightly more rounded wide almond, typical Tonkinese eye colour of bluish green. Lovely firm body for her young age, with slim legs & small oval paws, well balanced medium length tail. Her coat short & sleek, with close lying lustrous sheen. Body showing diffused slightly blurry Classic pattern with a gentle deepening to the extremities showing good facial tracings, well marked leg bracelets, broad tail bands, colour showing a reasonable degree of warmth. Her condition & temperament both excellent.
3rd HUDSON’S CH ADOREATONK TIANA. 74e.
Blue, Lilac or Caramel (including Tortie or Tabby) Adult;
1st MACEY’S FECHELDEE DAISIEMAY. 74p. 01-12-06. Caramel Tortie, I thought this was a very attractive girl of excellent type & also colour. Head typical modified moderate wedge, whisker pinch when viewed head on, well developed muzzle, top has a gentle rounding with slight break at the nasal bridge, good chin & level bite. Ears of larger medium size, slightly pricked forward with a well angled setting & oval tips. Eyes pleasing fuller wide almond shape, blue wash over green colour. Body is lithe yet firm, with well proportioned limbs, dainty paws, tail is a little too fine & whippy to be critical. Her coat was beautifully sleek & possessed excellent lustre, short & close lying. The colour is a really good example of a Caramel Tortie with shades of sludgy brownish blue mingled & patched with shades of hot sandy apricot, good glazed overlay. Condition excellent, charming temperament.
2nd CRAGG’S WAKANDA GOODIE BLUSHOOZ. 74a. 18-08-08. Blue, this girl despite her kittenish appearance possesses excellent tone. Head moderately proportioned wedge, good muzzle showing the required whisker pinch, profile with gentle break, her chin & bite both good. Ears medium size, oval on the tips, slight angular setting with touch of forward tilt, oval on the tips. Eyes large fuller almond shape, blue/green colour, quite a quizzical expression. Body lithe yet firm & good weight for her size, the legs slender with small dainty paws, gentle taper to the medium length tail. Coat though marginally long was beautifully close lying with a lovely sleek soft finish. Good colour & gentle merge particularly for a Blue, with deepening to the extremities a pleasing soft blue colour. Her condition was excellent
3rd GOODBURN’S CH TOSHIKI HYLILY ZODIAC. 74a.
Red, Cream or Apricot(including Tortie or Tabby) Adult;
1st MACEY’S GR CH FELCHELDEE HARRY. 74fn. 01-11-04. Apricot, this lad who is very much a male is all a little too long & little out of sync for what (in my opinion) the breed standard calls for. Head a little too long for width, as opposed to ‘moderately proportioned’, he does have a whisker pinch which I think is a little exaggerated, top a little too flat on the brow, nose break a little defined, long nose, reasonable chin. Ears moderately large, pricked forward but a little too tall. Eyes are large, well defined full wide almond shape, green with the slight cast of blue. Very long body which to his credit is beautifully hard & muscular, legs, long & slender, proportionate to the body, neat oval paws, tail has very slight gentle taper but bordering whippy, good length to balance the body proportions, with some stud tail at its base, which is beautifully clean & obviously being well treated. His coat has a lovely lustrous sheen which is highlighted due to its short close lying effect, excellent texture. His colour is a very hot intense apricot, a little too even overall & lacking the gentle merge of colour to the points, however with this colour I accept that it is going to be incredibly difficult to achieve & on the plus side it is virtually free of pattern with the exception of slight brow marking. He does have a wonderful temperament & his condition was excellent.
2nd MASON’S TALEN MIDAS OFTOSHIKI. 74d. 27-05-08. Red, sadly this lad looks far, far too Burmese in type & lacks the subtleties of his breed. Head on he has a short wide wedge & blunt muzzle, lacking the required whisker pinch, his profile too straight, good chin & bite. Ears medium size & again more Burmese appearance than the breed standard requires, rounded tips, wide base. Eyes more oval than wide almond, typical Tonkinese eye colour of blue washed green tone. Body firm, medium length slightly chunky appearance, well proportioned legs & paws, tail a little fine in relation to the body. Coat close lying & good shorter length, texture very good. His colour is a little indicative of a cooler toned Red Burmese with heavier markings on the face & deeper coloured ears but not quite the gentle merge of colour the SOP's asks for. Not completely relaxed, his condition was excellent.
AC Novice Adult;
1st Not Awarded. 2nd MASON’S TALEN MIDAS OFTOSHIKI. 74d.
Breeders Kitten, Male;
1st CASE’S TARJIKA MOONSTONE. 74c. 03-01-09. Lilac, very good type, but still very much in his baby fluffier coat stage of development. Moderately proportioned medium length wedge, gentle whisker pinch, profile shows a gentle break, slight taper to the chin, bite a mite over. Ears are moderately large, set at a slight angle, oval tips, the eyes a wide almond shape, could ideally have a little more evidence of blue tone. Body quite firm but could be a little larger for preference, slim legs, oval paws, gentle taper to the well balanced length. His coat is as stated still at the fluffier stage of development & very soft, lays quite close. His colour like his coat still to achieve a little more grown up appearance, slight leaning to blue with hint of gentle merge becoming apparent. Very amicable little chap.
Breeders Kitten, Female;
1st VOUSDEN’S MYMYSTIC MAIWAY. 74. 13-11-08. Brown, pleasing girl with excellent substance. Head possessing very good type which tipped the balance her way. Medium length moderate wedge, showing good slight whisker pinch, gentle rounding to the brow, slight break in profile, good chin & bite. Ears medium size, with slightly pricked forward & a little taller than wide. The eyes are a large wide full oval shape, with slight slanted towards the nose, colour a bluish green tone. Body is beautifully firm, with good legs & paws, tail has well balanced length & the required very gentle taper. Coat is a little on the longer side & marginally thicker texture & loses out to some degree on the lustrous sheen as a result. Warm brown colour still with a little more contrast to the points but still very young so that is a descriptive comment & should not be construed as being critical, likewise she is still showing slight barring. Excellent condition
2nd BERNARD’S MIMAPERKS SOLITAIRE. 74e. 08-09-08. Brown Tortie, at first look a very stylish girl with excellent quality coat. Moderate medium length wedge, broad muzzle but requires more evidence of whisker pinch gentle rounding to the brow but the profile itself too straight with only a barely perceptible slightest hint of anything, good chin & bite. Ears medium size requiring a little more oval shape at their tips, well pricked forward, slightly angular setting. Eyes large but a little too rounded, blue wash over green colour. Excellent body, medium length, lovely weight & tone, legs slim, oval paws, well balanced gently tapering tail. Beautiful coat, short & close with lustrous sheen, excellent texture. Well broken Tortie, I would prefer more gentle merge of colour but accept this is often less apparent in Torties than some of he other colours, quite dark brown base colour & the reds could ideally have more evidence of the brighter shades to lift a little, but nonetheless attractive. Excellent condition, appeared a little agitated.
Non-Breeders Kitten, Female;
1st SIMPSON’S TALEH GENTLE JASMIN. 74b. 24-11-08. Chocolate, I had some cause for deliberation over this girl, due to her ear disfigurement. Generally her type is quite pleasing, moderate wedge of medium length, slight whisker break, good muzzle, the break requires a little more visual evidence, good chin & bite. Ears medium size, but the tip was missing from the left ear which detracts as obviously the tip was not oval, set well. Eyes are quite a good larger size, slightly more oval than wide almond, showing quite an amount of blue in the eye colour with a hint of green. Excellent firm body, slim legs, neat paws, well balanced length tail. Her coat could be a little shorter but was very close & beautifully prepared, lovely soft texture. Colour an even shade of mid blue a colour which is always difficult for Tonkinese as the gentle merge can very often only be seen from a distance. Excellent temperament & the ear apart excellent condition, but this would affect my decision were she adult.
AC 14 weeks – 6 months Kitten;
1st CASE’S TARJIKA MOONSTONE. 74c.
AC 6 – 9 months Kitten;
1st SIMPSON’S TALEH SILVER FILIGREE. 74c. 24-11-08. Lilac, attractive young lady of very good type. Very good moderate wedge of medium length, showing slight whisker pinch, gentle profile break, chin & bite both good. Ears with angular setting, medium size, reasonable oval shaped tips. Eyes quite large fuller almond shape, just enough evidence of blue to the green. Body is a good medium length, the tone firm, slender limbs, neat well proportioned paws, gently tapering tail of medium length. Lovely coat, beautifully soft, short & close lying, subtle lustre to it. Soft pinky toned lilac with evidence of slight deepening to the marginally darker toned points. She was beautifully composed & was in super condition.
2nd BERNARD’S MIMAPERKS SOLITAIRE. 74e.
Novice Neuter;
1st WALSH’S FELCHELDEE LAMAR. 74c. 01-12-06. Lilac, very well grown lad but just a little overlong for balance. Longer length wedge, very broad muzzle, the skull long & flat, gentle profile break, good depth chin, bite good. Ears on the larger side, wide base, reasonable oval tips, set a little too tall & close in set. Eyes are large fuller oval shape as opposed to almond, very good bluish green tone. Very long strong & extremely muscular body, with long well proportioned limbs, larger oval paws, long quite thick tail. Coat quite dense & I would prefer a little shorter, requiring a slightly more lustrous finish. Colour was a quite good colour lilac but still with a little more contrast between the body Points than I would ideally prefer. His condition was superb & though a little vocal, handled well.
Radius Neuter;
1st CHAPPLE’S ANTIKPATINA LOGIBEAR. 74b. 13-08-08. Chocolate, very pleasing youngster, who once he achieves a little more maturity & his more even gentle merge of colour should look even better. Head has medium length moderate wedge, slight whisker break quite a good muzzle line, in profile he has a slight break, excellent chin, good bite. Ears are moderately large as yet, set slightly forward, slightly taller than wide, good oval tips. The eyes are large & a lovely bluish green colour, slightly more slanted oval than fuller almond. Lovely firm well muscled body for his young age, slim legs, oval paws, tail has gentle taper & a well proportioned medium length. Excellent quality coat, short & fitting beautifully, well prepared, soft sleek finish & pleasing lustrous sheen. His colour is still showing a little too much marked contrast with darker more defined colour on the points but this should merge better as he matures more fully. His condition was splendid & he looked so composed & confident.
2nd SMITH’S ANTIKPATINA HUGGY BEAR. 74b. 13-08-08. Chocolate, litter brother to the above & virtually identical type if a little more mature looking, but not his brother’s confidence. The head no different at all, gentle break & whisker pinch, excellent chin, level bite. Ears again as above. His eyes slightly more rounded due to being a little apprehensive, the colour initially looking very blue head on but showing the required dual tone combined with green when out. Excellent body, with proportionate limbs, oval paws, well balanced tail. Coat close lying & very good shorter length, soft texture not quite so lustrous as his sibling. Very defined points against the chocolate toned body, which could be warmer though possibly an optical effect due to the amount of brindling present. Condition excellent, just a little reserved.
3rd SMITH’S PR ADOREATONK LILLY ORCHID. 74b.
Visitors Neuter;
1st CROSSLEY’S GR PR DIABOLOS MYLEAH. 74. 11-06-03. Brown, mature well balanced lady. Moderately proportioned medium wedge, good muzzle with gentle whisker pinch, brow rounds slightly there is a slight break in the profile, good depth chin, bite good. Oval tips to the ears which were set forward & a good larger size. Large eyes which could be a little more almond in shape hint of blue wash over green to the colour. Body is firm & well developed, the legs quite slim, small neat paws, marginally short tail, tapering gently. Her coat is of slightly longer length & could ideally be a little closer lying as a result, nonetheless texture soft & fine, pleasing glossy sheen. Deep brown colour with very good gentle colour merge. Very confident temperament, excellent condition.
Congratulations to all the Show Managers, especially Joan Pounds, on a very well supported and successful “Combined” Show. Also very many thanks to Heather Boucher who came especially to steward for me, she handles the cats with great care and is excellent company.
