Mrs L Hudson

Very well done to Grace Wylde for an excellent, relaxed and super show. I had a very good steward in Val Prestidge who assisted ably and tirelessly all day. My thanks to you both.

AC ARISTOCRAFT ADULT: 1. WILTSHIRE'S SHOU CENTENNAL (8) M 01 05 08. Classic tabby adult male. Nice wide top of head with tiny ears. Good round copper eyes that could be a wee bit bolder. Level bite. Lovely markings deep dense black on warm copper agouti ground. M on forehead and bold markings on coat but a little spotty rather than classic and they were somewhat diffused on body and long soft coat. Short broad nose and stop. Lovely chunky body balanced on thick barred paws and short plumy ringed tail. A handsome young man. 2. HENDERSON'S TUFFTYBEE DESTINYS CHILD (12 1) F 17 06 07. Dominant tortie white adult female. Good top of head with smooth skull and tiny ears fitting well into the contour. Short wide nose. Big bold orange eyes, marginally undershot bite and firm chin. Lovely soft silky coat. Wide head and face with medium length nose. Smooth skull with ears held a little high. Good copper eyes. Slightly concave top teeth, and would like chin to be a little stronger. Heavy body, set on good thick legs and big paws. Excellent medium length full brush. AC Pedigree Pet Master Cat (Grand Class)
This was an incredibly hard class to judge and I really did have to split hairs to come up with a winner!
1st and GMC Mrs J D Plant’s MC Silver Sam (White with Black Tips) MN 8 years.  What a beautiful handsome boy!  So, so friendly and loved having a cuddle.  He had the most mesmerising green eyes, they made me want to melt.  Beautiful grooming and he is in such great condition for his age, it was because of this that Silver Sam got the Grand.  He is an obviously much loved pet, I loved his fluffy feet!!
2nd Mrs M Howes MC Cheetah (Short Hair Spotted Brown Tabby) MN 1 year 10mths.  Another gorgeous boy, very sweet temperament and very vocal when I put him back in his pen!  I think he would have stayed out all day with me given the chance!  Very good grooming, lovely soft coat.  Beautiful amber eyes, very expressive and alert.  Obviously another much loved pet.  It was only down to Silver Sam’s age that he got the Grand today, how I wish I had 2 to award!!

Persian Self Grand Champion Male; GCC PHILLIPS’ CH SYBARIT KNOCKOUT (IMP) (70 3, 8/5/06). Impressive Blue Exotic lad with a very broad masculine head. Neat ears set low. Bold eyes of good size & shape, deep cooper in colour. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & firm chin. Bite almost level. Well prepared coat, standing out well from his body. Mid blue in colour, just minimally shady. Just a touch of staining to his face at present. Quite a cobby body, just looking a fraction tall on his legs today. Short tail to balance.

Persian Self Grand Champion Female; GCC ANGUS’ GR CH PALCHINNO SNOWCLOUD (2b, 24/7/07). Odd-Eyed White girl of good type. Good width to head – ears just a touch large & obvious at present. Eyes of good size – shape could be a touch rounder. Pale orange & pale blue in colour. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & firm chin. Level bite. Coat fairly full & well prepared – just quite a lot of old coat present making the texture a touch harsh. She’s looking a touch leggy at present due to being in summer coat, but her body is well grown & the shape is quite cobby. Short full tail.

Blue Cream Adult; CC Withheld. 1 ANGUS’ PALCHINNO ALLANA MYSTIQUE (13, 21/4/08). Girl of really lovely type. Excellent top of head with neat ears. Deep copper eyes of good size & shape. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & firm chin. Level bite. Unfortunately her coat was not in show condition today – it was very sparse & there were knots to her flanks & tail. Mid cream was only evident to her chin & to the base of her tail. Otherwise the rest of her coat was mid blue & rather shady at present. Fairly well grown with cobby body shape. Short full tail. As she is just a youngster, hopefully the cream will come through as her adult coat develops. I would love to see her in full coat as she has super type.

Lilac Cream Adult; 1 CC COLIN’S TALSHIAR LIMITED EDITION (11c, 18/7/08). Beautiful girl of good type. Quite good width to head – ears just needing to settle a touch as she matures. Pale orange eyes of good shape & fairly good size. Very short broad nose. Quite good width to cheeks. Bite fractionally undershot. Good chin. Excellent full coat which was groomed to the last hair. Mid lilac & mid cream softly intermingled throughout, and almost sound. Very cobby body. Short full tail. Lovely to see such a great example of this seldom-seen colour.

Bi-Colour Adult Male; BOB POTTER’S CH PRIMISSION BEGUILED (12a7, 3/5/07). Just gorgeous!1 CC ANGUS’ PALCHINNO FLAME OF TORVAN (12a5, 27/3/08). Sweet Red & White lad of good type. Coat fairly full & well prepared – just in his summer coat at present. Inverted ‘V’ to face, white underneath & to legs, with white patches to back, and a white patch to tail. Mid red to head, body & tail with some red patches to legs. Tail showing rather heavy tabby markings at present. Quite cobby body – just showing slight teenage legginess today. Full tail.

Blue/Lilac Tortie & White Kitten; BOB Withheld. 1 ANGUS’ PALCHINNO ANASTASIA (12 2, 21/2/09). Lovely Blue Tortie & White girl of super type. Fairly good width to head. Ears slightly large & open at present. Deep copper eyes of excellent size & shape. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & Firm chin. Bite almost level. Coat is very sparse at present & needs much more show preparation. Slight staining to face and paws. Dark blue to ears & tail & patches to face. Mid cream patches to face & tail. White to body, legs & underneath. Cobby body & short full tail. Cute lass – lost her BOB today due to grooming. I look forward to seeing her again in her best ‘bib & tucker’!

Bi-Colour Kitten Male; 1 NICHOLAS’ GEMKIN BLUE LIGHTNING (12a2, 13/10/08). Lovely Blue & White lad of good balanced type. Good width to head with neat ears. Deep copper eyes of excellent size & shape. Very short broad nose. Good width to cheeks. Bite almost level. Good chin. Excellent coat which was full & generally very well prepared – just slight staining to face. Mid blue to head, body & tail. Inverted ‘V’ to face with white collar, white underneath & to legs. Blue patch to back leg. Very cobby body. Short full tail. Really super boy – it was so close for BOB. He just lost out to the girl due to facial staining today.

Very short broad nose. Good width to cheeks. Bite fractionally undershot. Good chin. Full coat which had been well prepared. Mid red which was almost sound, to head body & tail. Slight tabby markings to tail. White to cheeks & underneath. Red patches to legs. Slight staining to face & paws. Very cobby body which was quite well grown. Short full tail.

Bi-Colour Kitten Female; 1 BOB HENDERSON’S MAVOURNEEN HOKUS POKUS (12a1, 29/10/08). Gorgeous girl of super type. Excellent top of head with neat ears. Bold eyes of mid orange – good size & shape. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & firm chin. Bite almost level. Coat full & expertly prepared. Pristine white underneath & to face. Jet black to body, head & tail. Cute black splodges to face. Medium tail, well furnished.

Red/Cream/Tortie Point Birman Adult Male; 1 CC DAVIES’ CARRISMOON JACKFLASH (13c5, 23/4/08). Young lad of promising type – just looking a touch adolescent at this stage. Good width to head with ears of good size, held fairly well – just slightly bonneting them at present.  Eyes of good size & shape – could be a slightly deeper blue. Medium nose with good dip. Quite good width to cheeks, just slightly pinched lower in his muzzle at present. Level bite. Good chin. Coat of good length & well prepared. Slightly shady to his body. Mid red to all points, just showing ghost tabby markings to his head today. Well matched gloves & socks. Matching tapered gauntlets. Well grown lad with good body shape. Coat of good length & well presented. Slightly shady to her body. Mid lilac & cream to all points. Well matched gloves & socks. Matching tapered gauntlets. Well grown lass with good body shape. Good tail.

Mr K Scruton

I was pleased to be able to help out when Malcolm Brace had to withdraw close to the day I hope that the exhibitors were not too disappointed. It was a very friendly well run show and I thank Grace and the committee for their kind hospitality. My thanks also go to my very efficient steward, Andrew, who was a tower of strength during a busy day.

AC SLH GRAND PREMIER NEUTER, MALE

1 & IGRPR  STABLES’ IGRPR MERLIESIN CAISEAL BEAG (63) MN 26.10.2003 One of my favourite cats and looking in splendid form. Lovely balanced moderate wedge head with gentle contours and carried on an elegant neck. Proportionately large broad at the base ears, pricked and well cupped, nicely furnished along the inner edges. High forehead with a gentle rise from the bridge and wide between the ears, a slight nose break in profile and a shallow indent to form the muzzle, firm chin. Large almond shaped amber eyes set obliquely and well apart with dark surround and outer lighter ‘spectacles’; lovely black pencilling. He has a firm lithe body of foreign type that is supported by long legs standing on oval tufted feet and a long well furnished broad based tail that balances the body length. Excellent coat that is soft, fine and dense, lying flat along the spine with a warm apricot base showing no more than a touch of seasonal greying, evenly ticked in black Chest, tummy, insides of legs, breeches and under tail rich apricot. Later Best SLH Neuter and overall Best SLH. Congratulations.

AC CHAMPION BIRMAN

MALE

1 & GRCH  DAVIES’S CH CARRISMOON JACKFLASH (13c5) M 23.04.2008  Good breadth of head between well set ears, excellent eyes for size shape and depth of blue, medium length nose with a dip in the profile, nicely filled cheeks and depth of chin. Medium length body supported by strong limbs and balanced by a well feathered tail. Well presented coat a touch coarse down the back by showing a ‘golden’ hue; matched points with good glove and gauntlet markings.

R  MLYNEK & HAYWARD’S CH MLYWARD MUNCHKIN (13c2) M 27.06.2008 A lovely lad who needs to grow on as he is currently rather petite for a male and slightly fine in the bone. Ears disproportionate in size for the head but he should grow in to them, excellent almost round blue eyes, slight dip in the profile, level bite and ample chin. Lovely coat texture and free of shading; match pale blue points with good gloves and gauntlets. Superb laid back temperament.

FEMALE

1 & GRCH  MLYNEK & HAYWARD’S CH MLYWARD HONEY POT (13c7) 17.05.2008  Attractive young lady with medium sized well set ears nearly round blue eyes, dip in the profile, level bite and tapered chin. Excellent coat texture, summer length clear and nicely marked with cream points. Good length gloves; gauntlets mid length.

BOB  ROGERS’S GRCH &GR PR LIEBEKATZ CUTABOVE THEREST (12a1) MN 13.06.2005  Not entered in the open class but a more than worth BOB. The type of cat who has star quality and just dripped immaculately presented coat with dense black and pristine white. Later Best LH and Overall BIS. Many congratulations.

1 & PR  PERKINS’S PR ZENITH DUDLEY (12a1) MN 11.06.2006  Broad top with rounded skull, neat well set ears, round orange eyes, snub nose with open nostrils, level bite, firm chin and full cheeks. Cobby body standing low to the ground attired in a coat of excellent texture, silky and soft. Black top to the head with a black band across the nape and the rump and a black tail: otherwise pristine white.

USUAL SOMALI ADULT

1, CC & BOB ABBOTT’S SUENICO TESS PUMBLECHOOK (63) F 19.07.2008  A very attractive and engaging personality. Feminine head with gentle contours carrying proportionately large pricked and cupped ears with good width between rise from the bridge to the nose and a slight nose break in profile, shallow indent to form the muzzle, level bite and firm chin. Large almond shaped eyes accentuated by darker rims and paler outer spectacles. Medium sized muscular foreign type body with an elegant neck and long legs standing on oval tufted feet. Soft fine coat lying flat along the spine, with short ruff and breeches; excellent apricot base colour and lovely even black ticking. Ear tufts, pencillings, top and tip of tail, toe tufts and heels black. Chest, belly, insides of legs and under tail rich apricot. Long well furnished tail to balance.

2  BURNS’S CH SUPATOFT SUPER NOODLE (63) F 19.04.2004 A lovely mature lady who was sadly not wearing her best robe today. Lovely balanced head with gentle contours, proportionate sized ears pricked and cupped, high forehead with good width between the ears, slight nose break, indent to form the muzzle level bite and firm chin. Well developed body of medium foreign type, lithe and muscular, supported by long legs standing on oval tufted feet. Coat soft and fine but a touch woolly in places. Base colour patchy apricot and the ticking looking somewhat brindled detracting from the overall beauty of the cat. Well feathered tail in balance with the body length.

BROWN/BLUE TABBY MAINE COON ADULT

1, CC & BOB  LORD’S SHEERCLASS PEGGI SOO (64 41w) F 12.09.2008  What a charmer with a superb temperament so essential in a large cat. Large lynx tipped ears set vertical and well apart, head has yet to broaden for total balance but good length noose with gentle curve at the nasal bridge, high set cheekbones, level bite, firm chin and reasonably square muzzle, large round eyes with oblique aperture and set. Long muscular body carried high on the legs and complemented by a long full tail. Coat beautifully presented if not long at present. Markings showing every element of the tabby pattern; white throat, chest, tummy and on all legs.

2  WHITES’ SHEERCLASS BLUE MOON (64 41a) F 12.08.2008  Large well tufted ears set vertically on the head, round eyes with oblique aperture and set, gentle concave curve in profile, level bite but needs breadth in the muzzle. Long-backed body standing tall on the legs and balanced by a long full tail. Excellent coat texture and presentation. Not the easiest colour to breed and the pattern is typically a touch solid but a good biscuit coloured ground is developing.

COLEMANS’ LOONYCOONZ LITTLE CJ (64 20) F 22.07.2006  Large lynx-tipped ears set high and well apart, round eyes with oblique aperture and set, gentle concave curve in profile, level bite and reasonably square in the muzzle. Long muscular body with long well boned legs and nicely tufted feet attired in a silky coat with a rather solid pattern and lacking warmth to the base colour. Long tail to complement the body length.

4  HANCOCK’S JULESCOON MIKA (64 41w) F 15.06.2008 The presentation of this girl reminded me of the Maine Coons when they first appeared – aux naturelle. She was in need of a bath to remove the grease and prevent the fur clumping and separating – proper preparation would have improved her appearance and chances enormously. Large widely separated ears set vertically, round eyes with oblique aperture and set, curve profile, high cheekbones, level bite and good depth of chin. Long body that has yet to muscle-up carried high on the legs and complemented by a long tail. Coat attractively marked.

RED/CREA/TORTIEPOINT BIRMAN KITTEN

1 & BOB  ALLENS’ TISANTI VALENTINA GRACE (13c10) F 24.09.2008  Lovely promising girl. Medium sized well set ear, nearly round violet-blue eyes, dip in the profile, level bite and good depth of chin. Well grown body carried on medium length legs and dressed in a coat of excellent texture. Nicely marked lilac and cream points with good length gloves and short gauntlets.

1  COLEMANS’ LOONYCOONZ RAFAEL (64 36) M 26.01.2009  Large lynx-tipped ears set vertically and quite well apart, round eyes with correct set, curved profile, high set cheekbones, level bite but would like to see a squarer muzzle. Long, muscular, well grown body supported by long strong legs. Coat on the short side but showing good silver under colour and silver ear tufts. Tail in balance with the body length.

FEMALE

1 & BOB  EARL’S JAMCUSA TIA OF MAINEBREEZE (64 41d) F 01.11.2008  Head nicely in proportion with large well set ears, round eyes that I would prefer to see a size larger, curved profile, level bite, firm chin and square muzzle. Good sized muscular body carried tall on the legs and complemented by a well feathered tail. Excellent coat texture and length with a rich red classic pattern on a paler red agouti ground.

2  EVANS’S YAHESKA VENUS (64 41gw) F 13.02.2009  Large lynx-tipped ears set vertically and well apart, good eyes for size shape and set, gentle concave curve in profile but unfortunately the bite is undershot. Well grown body of good length standing tall on the legs. Coat of good texture and lengthy, just needs attention to the presentation.
