OPEN CLASSES.

Siamese/Balinese Grand Champion Female
IMP GD CC – Meekings GD CH FIROUSI FREEDSPIRIT (32c) 26/03/03. Most beautiful lady with perfect points  colour, looking good for a 6 year old. Excellent head with lovely wide top and huge very wide based ears excellently set. Very good shape, set and expression to eyes – just a hint of a “look” now and again and the colour could ideally be a bit deeper. Strong slightly convex profile and, as is often the case with this type of profile, the chin, although of good depth, slopes back a touch, bite has only a couple of incisors remaining now, but looks reasonably level.  Long elegant and firm toned body, long slender limbs and long whip tail to balance. Soft pale cream points colouring, rarely seen these days and almost worthy of the certificate on their own. Good overall texture to coat, a touch long but lying close, lightly shaded thus excellent contrast – again excellent for age. Lovely temperament, a very relaxed and friendly lady, excellently presented.

R – Baughan’s GD CH MAPU FORGETMENOT (24n)  10/04/07. Stylish little female, quite dainty looking but actually more substantial than she first appears, she ran the winner very close indeed. Very good head with excellent top line and large flared ears set to balance. Lovely eyes, excellent shape and set with superb depth of colour. Strong profile, firm chin and level bite. Firm toned body of very good length and substance, long dainty limbs and neat paws, whippy tail to balance. Good points colour, dingy toned lilac-based caramel, nicely matched.  Lightly shaded off-white coat of excellent sleek texture. Another lady who was excellent to handle, beautifully presented.

The other lady in this class was also of excellent quality but her rather pale points colour put her down the order today.

Caramel Point Kitten Male
1st & BOB – Green’s BELROO PEPPIEMINT 24/08/08. A dear little boy of good type, fairly well grown for age. Longer wedge with good top line and large ears set to follow, head balance looked better when he was relaxed. Good shape to eyes although perhaps marginally small, setting good, colour very good.  Almost straight profile and good depth of chin with level bite.  Nicely covered body of good length and weight for size, quite dainty limbs for a chap, good length tail. Points colouring somewhat ambiguous at present, while not clearly caramel, there was some evidence that he may turn out to be so, with a hint of a brownish overtone at the base of the ears and on the tail, and the un-shaded coat does have a coolish tone to it. In view of this, the fact that it is a developing colour and the not too helpful lighting I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt today. A sweet boy who was a little shy but handled well. Excellently presented.

Cream Point Adult Male
CC – Siviter’s SIMPLYSIAM SPECIAL MENTION 05/04/08. A young adolescent male of stylish type. Well balanced medium wedge with very good top line and large ears set to follow. Oriental eye shape and set with excellent colour, brilliant sapphire blue.  Almost straight profile and firm chin, bite marginally scissored over. Long heavy body, typically adolescent with puppy fat that needs to fine down and muscle up, thus tending to make his head look small and a little out of proportion at present, limbs  long and elegant, tail need a touch more length to balance. Warm cream points. lilac-based perhaps? Super texture to virtually un-shaded coat. A very attractive boy who just needs to mature. Excellent temperament and presentation

2nd – Kershaw’s  ADATEAM CAPTAIN CREAM 03/01/08. This lad on the other had was huge and very well developed for age. Type basically good but lacking the style of the winner. Slightly heavy head, more rounded than wedge shaped, top line okay, ears of good-ish size set a little high on the head. Good shape and set to eyes,  expression somewhat innocent but with excellent depth of colour. Good profile and chin, muzzle could be finer, bite overshot.  Long, strong well muscled body, long strong limbs and oval paws, tail a little short for all that body length. Pale cream points, a touch warm in tone on the tail. Lightly shaded coat of excellent length and close texture.   Super temperament, very easy to handle and beautifully presented.

Cream Point Adult Female
Judged for Bob only and awarded - Meekings GD CH FIROUSI FREEDSPIRIT (32c) 26/03/03

Apricot Point Siamese Neuter
IC & BOB Mullen’s FOXYPAWS ERICSSON 01/06/08. A stylish young boy with maturity in keeping with age.  Longer wedge with very good top of head and large flared ears very well set. Eye shape good but marginally small and the setting was a little straight and deeper than ideal, colour very good.  Almost straight profile and firm chin, bite scissored over.  Long elegant but well covered body, long slender limbs and neat spoon paws,  long tail to balance.  Good apricot points colour, well developed for age with tail very hot in tone indeed.  Overall texture to coat good, marginally long down the spine with medium shading to tone. A sweet tempered lad excellently presented.

Caramel Point Spayed Female
IC & BOB - Davies’ RENDZINA PUSSY GALORE 13/09/06. Neat little  neutered lady, very dainty but well balanced overall.  Medium wedge with very good top of head and large wide based ears set to follow.  Gentle expression to oriental eyes of very good colour.  Small dip to profile centre nose, chin firm and bite just about level. Comfortably covered body of good length, dainty limbs and paws, tail a little short for balance.  Very good sludgy toned lilac-based caramel points with very good brownish overtones on the tail in particular. Lightly shaded off-white coat of very good length and excellent close texture. A shy and gentle lady, excellently presented.

Tabby Point Neuter Male
PC – Esterford Howard’s CH & PR MAPU MALACHITE (32/8) 18/06/07. This boy is very stylish and although his strength and maturity has improved in recent times he is always going to be on the effeminate side I think.  Medium wedge head that is stylish and very well balanced with very good top and large ears set in line.  Super eyes for shape, set, expression and colour, this is his most attractive feature particularly when  set against his rather pretty colouring.  Almost straight profile and firm chin, bite level. Long body, nicely covered and firm toned,  elegant limbs and good length tail. Good tabby markings with single cheek ring evident and typically no thumb prints, pale bracelets and  very well ringed tail. I am still not convinced this lad is caramel rather than lilac, whereas there is a toffee tone to his tail rings now, they lack that dirty look that an almost mature caramel usually has, the over all appearance is too soft and warm in tone.  Very good length and super texture to almost magnolia coat, lightly shaded overall in fawnish tones.   Excellent temperament and presentation.

Judged for BOB and awarded – Bennett’s CH & PR DAZZLING SWEETALKING GUY (32/8) 21/02/07. I do love the type, strength  and style of this boy. Lovely head, a broad medium wedge with very wide top line and large wide based ears excellently set. Excellent eye shape, set and expression with good depth of colour. Strong profile and spot on chin that lines up with the nose tip and level bite. Long strong and masculine body with excellent tone for a neuter, long strong limbs and spoon paws, super long whip tail to balance. This lad, on the other hand, I have no doubts over his colour, beautifully developed for age and showing the true dirty brown tones of a caramel tabby,  differing completely to the previous lad.  Pattern excellent with tail rings almost  along the entire length of the tail.   A superior exhibit and a favourite of mine. Perfect to handle and excellently presented.

Also judged for BOB – Shawley’s UK GD PR HIGHIQ XTRAVAGANZA (32/1) 18/05/05. Another quality boy unlucky to be up against the previous lad for BOB . A lovely strong and typy neuter boy with lovely eyes and very good tabby markings, just his heavy shading and rather too comfortably covered body  being the difference today.

Tabby Point Spayed Female
PC – Snaith’s IMP GD PR FOXTWIST MOPPET (32/8) 17/11/97. It always gives me great pleasure to see this lady out and about and able to hold her own in competition at the grand old age of 11. As one of the pioneers of this colour in the early days of Merits and IC’s I am pleased that she has managed to attain her exalted title. Her condition is exemplary with almost all her teeth present, and it is good to see her still enjoying her day out. Beautifully presented as always.

MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES
AOC (Breed 24) Siamese Breeders Adult
1st – Simpson’s SHERMESE MERCEDES (24n) F 09/04/08.   This young lady has certainly lived up to her early promise. Lovely head with excellent broad top and very large wide based ears. Strong profile and good chin. Excellent eye shape, set and colour to eyes, Points colour very good, dark and beginning to show the correct brownish overtones. Excellent temperament

2nd - Baughan’s GD CH MAPU FORGETMENOT (24n)  10/04/07.

3rd – Ridgeways HARTZIE GALAXYOF STARS (24) F 22/04/08 A stylish little queen, only just adult but very promising.

A.C. Junior Adult
1st – Bennison’s MORALYN HEAVENSENT SIMBA (32/3) M 14/01/08. A big strong boy, well developed for age, overall type good. Good head but would like the ears a touch larger to balance. Tabby markings are rather dark and cool in tone but the pattern is very good. Would like a longer tail.  Excellent to handle.

2nd  – Ellams MEESONA LUVEINAMIST (24n) F 16/04/08. Very good type and style to this lady and her points colouring is very good. Bite  slightly undershot

Ex 2nd  - Green’s CH MAPU FIRENZE (24n) F 10/04/07.  A neat and well balanced little queen who was very attractive for type and colour. Bite marginally over.

3rd – Richards DEBIKAT GRACIE MAE (32/1) F 02/04/08. A lovely little queen but presently the emphasis is on little, she need to develop and mature.

AOC (Breed 32) Siamese Breeders Kitten
1st – Smout’s KAMIK FIRECRACKA (32a) MN 18/07/08. Absolutely gorgeous boy, very stylish indeed, with excellent head type and huge flared ears, I would just like him bigger for this age. His points colouring is very good, really vibrant in tone and his eye colour is also very good.  If he grows on and matures well, as an adult, he will be very hard to beat. Excellent temperament and presentation.

2nd – Meekings’ RANTIPOLE ENIGMA (32t3) F 06/12/08. An extremely promising little girl, however I  am not convinced she is chocolate, although with the amount of development of points colour she has  it is difficult to be certain. However, the red mingling looks more apricot to me and there is a very definite grey tinge to the tips of the ears rather than chocolate. Whilst notabsolutely clear, my opinion is that she will probably turn out to be a  caramel tortie tabby.  Excellent eye shape set and colour. Excellently presented.

3rd – Pound’s JOMESE JESSE JAMES (32/1) M 16/11/08.  A promising baby but rather diddy at present – lovely eye colour and promising tabby markings  developing.

A.C. Senior Neuter
1st - – Bennett’s CH & PR DAZZLING SWEETALKING GUY (32/8) 21/02/07.

2nd – Meeking’s UK GD CH & PR LEMENTAL RED ALERT (61dt) MN 14/06/03. A cracking Balinese boy, lovely type and colouring, coat length very good, texture not quite right today. He was quite brave today, albeit with the usual protestations.

3rd  -  Shawley’s UK GD PR HIGHIQ XTRAVAGANZA (32/1) 18/05/05

A.C. Visitors Neuter
1st – Meek’s GD PR SHERMESE CHINA DOLL (24) FN 08/06/07.  Lovely type to this dainty lady. Stylish and well and balanced head, very good top line and large ears set in line,  she has a rather uneven profile but the chin and the bite are good. Really dark dense but warm  seal points. Coat of very good length and texture with medium shading to tone.  Beautifully presented.

2nd – Davies’ CHIARIKKI TSARINA (32b3) FN 24/11/03. This lady has a lovely head, very even and well balanced and the eye colour is good. It is a pity her bite is so untidy and undershot. Body looked a little more elegant than we last met. Points very well mingled in dark but warm chocolate base colour. Beautifully poised.

3rd – Alexander’s APPLEJACK JAMBALAJA (32fn) MN 28/01/05. The sweetest of boys, he was very late developing his colour but is now good and hot in tone.

ex 3rd - Dinsdale’s GD CH & PR APPLEJACK BLUEFENIX (32b2) 24/01/04. Not looking so good today, she seems to have put on some weight and it makes her head look rather small. Very heavily shaded with little contrast seen. Temper better today.

Many thanks to Mavis and the committee for inviting me to judge at another well organized and smooth running show, and to the ‘A’ team for the super lunch – I really did enjoy it. I would also like to thank my steward Paul Esterford-Howard who worked tirelessly throughout the day and was excellent company – thank you very much Paul.

OPEN CLASSES
GRAND PREMIER CLASS - AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER FEMALE.
1 GPC, REED’S IMP GR CH & UK IMP GR PR JOHPAS GLAMNGLITZ. (32b8) 17.4.02. Caramel Tortie Point Siamese. We met very recently - she never fails to impress with her superior, and wonderful personality. Her type near perfect and always presented to perfection, to write any more would be a complete repeat of my report from a few of weeks ago. I would just like to say congratulations on yet another BIS win, she really is in a class of her own.
RGPC, MEEK’S GR PR SHERMESE CHINA DOLL. (24) 8.6.07. Seal Point Siamese. How unlucky to meet the winner. She is a beautiful girl – very stylish and feminine. Long strong wedge head with excellent width to balance, and large wide based ears beautifully set and flared. Profile not quite straight with a dip and a bump. Firm chin, level bite – lovely clean white teeth. Dark and expressive oriental eyes. Dainty and elegant in stature with a long well toned body, graceful neckline, long slim legs and fine whip tail. Points dense and well matched. Warmly shaded body – very good contrast. Coat of excellent texture, short and well prepared for her day out. Excellent presentation – a delightful girl.

CARAMEL POINT ADULT FEMALE.
BOB awarded to BAUGHAN’S GR CH MAPU FORGETMENOT. 10.4.07. Looking the part – a super girl of excellent type. Very evenly balanced strong wedge head with large ears wide at the base and very well set. Profile shows a small rise over bridge and slightly flat forehead. Chin needs a little more depth, level bite. Dark blue oriental eyes with lovely expression. Very elegant and stylish body lines. Firm and well toned with long legs and tail. Lilac based caramel points, matching on ears and mask, tail a touch darker and her legs, as I would expect, were paler. Un-shaded off white body, very good contrast. Superb texture to short, close coat. Presentation and temperament both excellent.
1 & CC, SIMPSON’S SHERMESE MERCEDES. 9.4.08. Lovely youngster, very elegant and stylish. Strong well balanced wedge head with very large butterfly based ears, beautifully set and flared. Profile a touch flat over her forehead but otherwise good. Firm chin, level bite. Lovely dark blue oriental eyes – very expressive. Long slender body, firm and well toned. Graceful neckline, long slim legs, dainty spoon feet, very fine whip tail. Blue based caramel points, dark and sludgy in tone. Lightly shaded off white body – very good contrast. Coat a touch long but very well prepared and close lying. Delightful girl beautifully presented.
2, GREEN’S CH MAPU FIRENZE. 10.4.07. A mature queen of very good overall type and balance. Good strength to her wedge head, just a touch square on the muzzle. Ears large, wide at the base and very well set. Straight profile, chin ebbs. Untidy teeth but her bite was acceptable. Oriental dark blue eyes. Long body, quite well toned, tummy quite fat. Long slim legs. Whip tail to balance. Lilac based caramel points, mask incomplete, pale around her eyes. Off white body, light shading at hips – very good contrast. Short, close lying coat. Lovely temperament.
3, ELLAMS’S MEESONA LUVINAMYST. 16.4.08. Dainty youngster, basically of good type but needs a little more time to grow up. Good strength and balance to her wedge head. Ears of good size, open at the base and well set. Straight profile, firm chin, bite marginally uneven. Eyes well set and shaped, bright in tone but require a touch more depth of colour. Long slender well toned body, long dainty legs, whip tail in balance. Lilac based caramel points. Mask incomplete at the moment – pale around eyes, chin and whisker pads. Un-shaded off white body with a short beautifully prepared coat. Sweet girl – excellent condition – I would expect to see her improve as she becomes more mature.

RED POINT ADULT MALE.
1 CC & BOB, REED’S IMP GR CH BETHANJO RED OCTOBER. 6.10.06. Very strong and handsome, beautifully balanced. Lovely even wedge head – very strong with large wide based ears set to follow the lines of his wedge perfectly. Strong profile, firm chin, level bite. Expressive eyes of mid vivid blue – excellent oriental shape and set. Long hard and muscular body, strong masculine neckline, long strong legs, good whip tail. Well matched red/gold points. Warm white body, virtually clear of shading, excellent contrast. Beautifully prepared short, close coat. Very gentle boy in superb condition.

TORTIE POINT ADULT.
BOB awarded to SMOUT’S CH KAMIK THEONEANDONLY. (32b1) 11.4.06. Seal Tortie Point. Well balanced mature queen, substantial and of very good type. Strong wedge head with large ears, wide at the base and very well set. Tiny bump evident at the back of her head. Good profile, chin and bite. Bright mid blue oriental eyes – could be a touch more intense – lovely expression though. Long firm body with long legs and tail. Seal tortie points all mingled with shades of red. Bright mottling to her ears. Body shows shading in tone with her points but there is still good enough contrast. Excellent texture to short well prepared coat. She was muttering away to herself throughout but nevertheless was no trouble to handle – it’s a tortie thing!!
CC n/a, 1 MEEKINGS’S RANTIPOLE ARABELLA. (32b3) 22.10.05. Chocolate Tortie Point. A queen of good overall type, fine boned and quite dainty but has substance. Long wedge head with large well set ears. Very good straight profile with a firm chin – she was missing incisors but the bite appeared level. Eyes of good shape and setting – good depth of colour also. Long elegant body, firm and well muscled. Long legs and tail. My problem was with her points which were very dark in tone, the tortie breaks very pale and lacking any real brightness. Dark ivory body free of shading – contrast excellent. Coat short, close and of excellent texture. Lovely gentle temperament.

TABBY POINT KITTEN MALE.
1 & BOB, POUNDS’S JOMESE MUMBO JUMBO. (32/1) 6.11.08. Seal Tabby Point. Fine boned baby of good type, just a little small for his age at the moment but he did feel firm and weighty. Short strong wedge head with large ears, wide based  and very well set. Tiny depression still to pull out, otherwise a very good profile. Good chin and bite. Good oriental shape and set to his dark blue eyes – holds a little wide out of his pen but much better when we popped him back in. Firm little baby body with long fine legs and a stringy whip tail. Dark warm seal tabby markings coming through well. Wide brushed thumb prints. Fine M and short single cheek ribbons. Legs bars and arm bands visible. Quite good tail rings, solid dorsal line. A little ticked shading to body along spine line. Fine close lying baby coat. Excellent presentation.
2, POUNDS’S JOMESE JESSE JAMES. (32/1) 6.11.08. Seal Tabby point. Litter brother to previous kitten – in many ways similar type wise, and a good weight for his size, but smaller than his brother. Short strong wedge head with well set wide based ears which are just big enough at the moment. Strong profile, good chin, level bite. Eyes of good oriental shape and set – good colour also. Firm little baby body with long fine legs and fine whip tail. Warm seal tabby markings coming through well. Firm thumb prints. Fine M and short single cheek ribbons. Legs bars and arm bands visible. Wide tail rings, solid dorsal line. A little ticked shading to body along spine line. Fine close lying baby coat. Excellent presentation.

TABBY POINT KITTEN FEMALE.
1, MEEKINGS’S RANTIPOLE ENIGMA. (32t3) 6.12.08. Chocolate Tortie Tabby Point (possibly). Well yes, she certainly is a mystery girl! Lovely kitten – well grown and of very good type. Strong wedge head with large wide based ears very well set. Straight profile with a firm chin and level bite. Expressive vivid blue eyes of very good oriental shape and set. Long body, firm and well muscled, long legs with quite large paws for a lady. Long tail. Her points are very pale at present with delicate tabby markings beginning to come through, and some pale tortie breaks. At the moment her colour is interesting; I am not totally convinced she will come down on the chocolate side of the fence but it is obviously still developing and at 14 weeks of age she did not deserve to be wrong coloured. Un-shaded off white body with a slightly long baby coat of good texture. Presentation and temperament both excellent.
2, POUNDS’S JOMESE JELLICLE MOON. (32/5) 30.11.08. Red Tabby Point. Very tiny and underdeveloped for her age at the moment. Short even wedge head with large well set ears. Uneven profile. Eyes of good oriental shape and set – good colour also. Fat baby body with fine legs and whip tail. Points of very pale red with some tabby markings just beginning to develop. Un-shaded coat, a touch long and rather sparse at present. She was beautifully presented in a warm and cosy nest of blankets, but I can’t help feeling that she would have been better at home with mum.

BALINESE NEUTER MALE.
BOB awarded to MEEKINGS’S UK GR CH & PR LEMENTAL RED ALERT. (61dt) 14.6.03. Red Tabby Point. Big strong lad coming up for 6 yrs - very handsome – lovely type. Strong even wedge head with large beautifully set wide based ears with wisps and fronds, strong profile, firm chin, teeth missing, bite ok. Lovely expression to bright vivid blue eyes of excellent oriental shape and setting. Long strong body and neckline, very hard and muscular, long strong legs, oval feet with tufts, good length well plumed tail. Tabby markings bright and overall well defined. Brushed thumb prints. M and single cheek ribbons to mask. Leg bars and arm bands. Some tail rings visible. Warm white body shaded over his back in tone with his points – contrast good. Coat fairly silky in texture, of good length and lying correctly along his body. Excellent presentation – handled well.
