Thanks to Lorraine and Betty for the invitation to judge at their show and to Lisa Buck for stewarding for me.

AC Self Champion Male:  1 Gr CC.  STEWART’S IGR CH LAZANE ON CLOUD NINE (2a) 08/06/07. Orange-Eyed White male who well deserved the grand. He has good type with an excellent cobby shape, good bone and a tail length in proportion.  Round head with neat ears set well apart, broad nose with a deep break, round eyes of mid orange, scissor bite, fat cheeks and a strong chin.  At the moment his coat is not too long but is soft, silky and well presented. The colour was a sparkling clean white.  Lovely temperament.

Exotic Shorthair Self, Male:  1 CC withheld.  HATFIELD’S SODACHICATS TOTALITONMEN.  (70 50C) 16/07/08.  I never like to withhold a certificate, but as I explained to the owner on the day, his bite is very undershot and is out of alignment and he can’t shut it properly.  However, he is a wonderful shade of sound lilac with a dense soft texture to his coat and it stood out perfectly from his body. His body shape is quite compact with a short tail.  He had a good head shape with nice width between neat ears, round orange eyes, a broad nose with large nostrils, fat cheeks and a firm chin.  He was a little nervous on the day but he had lovely temperament.  2.  STEWART’S BARLEYFIELDS RIVER DANCE.  (70 2a) 29/04/08.  Orange Eyed White Exotic who had a slightly adolescent shape to his body on the day with good bone and a tail length in proportion.  He has a round head, not perfectly smooth, with good width between neat ears, a broad nose with a deep break but his nasal apertures are extremely small and he has virtually no leather.  His bite is also somewhat undershot and one of his canines is misaligned and goes into his gum.  His coat is perfectly white with no staining and is a good length, plush and soft.  Wonderful temperament.

Exotic Shorthair Non-Self Male:  1CC & BOB.  MALCOMSOM’S HADFIELDS TEXUS HOLDUM. (70 8) 08/04/08.  Brown Tabby Exotic male of excellent type with a nice solid cobby body, good bone and a tail length in proportion.  He had a large round head with small ears, round pale orange eyes, a wide nose with a deep break, a wide level bite, round cheeks and a strong chin.  His coat was a good length, very soft and plush.  He had a warm undercoat with very distinct black classic tabby markings.  He had almost perfect markings with a good “m” on his forehead, lines from his eyes, thumbprints on his ears, an unbroken spine line, necklaces on his chest, well barred legs, well ringed tail, a large butterfly across his shoulders and oysters on his flanks that were almost complete.  2.  sattar’s sheerbliss shere khan, (70 9) 30/05/08.  A Red Tabby Exotic male with lovely open type, a good shape to his body and nice bone with a tail length in proportion.  He had a good round head with neat ears set well apart, large expressive round copper eyes, a short broad nose, a wide level bite, round cheeks and a firm chin.  His soft, dense coat showed a good warm undercoat with classic deep red markings. His clearly defined markings showed a good “m” on his face, lines from his eyes, thumbprints on his ears, well barred legs, good rings on his tail, an unbroken spine line, a large butterfly across his shoulders and almost perfect oysters on his sides.  Lovely temperament.  3.  LEES’ CH SHEERBLISS OHSO THEO.  (70 12a 7t) 14/04/07.  Cream and White Tabby Exotic male of good type and with a nice cobby shape to his body, excellent bone and a tail length in proportion.  Well rounded head with neat ears, huge deep orange eyes, broad nose with a deep break, level bite, good cheeks and a strong chin. His dense coat could be softer but it was plush and stood out beautifully from his body.  His mackerel tabby pattern had a very pale cream ground colour with richer cream markings broken by a few patches of clean white.  His completely tabby tail was well ringed with good lines down his sides and well barred legs that had some white on them.  He had a white chest and bib with the only white on his face on his whisker pads.  Very good temperament.  Female:  1 & CC MORRIS’ HEATHROSE MULLED WINE.  (70 9) 14/07/08.  Red Tabby Exotic female of lovely open type who although she is only a youngster is already a nice compact shape with good bone and a tail length in proportion.  She has a nicely rounded head with neat ears, a wide nose with a deep break, huge copper coloured eyes, a very wide bite that is almost level, well rounded cheeks and a good depth of chin.  Her soft coat is plush and standing out well from her body with a good pale red undercoat and fabulous rich red markings.  She had a nice “m” to her face with clear lines from her eyes, her spine line was almost complete, well barred legs, nice necklaces, well ringed tail, a well defined butterfly across her shoulders and nice oysters on her sides.  2.  CRAIG & BELL’S KATYKAYE SPECIAL REQUEST.  (70 12a8t) 10/04/08.  Blue Tortie Tabby and White Exotic female of good type with a nice shape to her body, good bone and a short tail.  At the moment her head and body are not quite in proportion as her head is a little small and needs mature.  She has a round head with neat ears set well apart, round copper coloured eyes, a short snub nose, almost level bite, good cheeks and a nice chin.  Her coat texture is soft and plush and stood out well from her body with clean white with blue tabby overlaid with cream showing tabby where there are patches of colour.  She had a fully coloured tail with the colour going slightly up her back, colour to all her legs, her body is mainly white with four small patches of colour on her back.  Her face has colour to the sides broken by white to the middle.  3.  MACKERETH’S PIPPAKITS SCARLET RIBBONS.  (70 9) 10/04/08.  Red Tabby Exotic female of good type with a nice shape to her body, good bone and a tail length that I would have liked a little shorter for perfection.  She has a good top of head with neat ears, a short broad nose, round orange eyes, almost level bite, well rounded cheeks and a strong chin.  Her soft plush coat was a good length with pale red undercoat and rich red markings.  She had very good markings with slightly pale bars on her front legs and very pale, almost white, whisker pads and chin.

Exotic Shorthair Non-Self Male:  1 PC & BOB. WALL’S CH SHEERBLISS NIKOLAI.  (70 30s) 28/09/06.  Huge Silver Spotted Exotic male of excellent type with a lovely cobby shape to his body, heavy bone and tail length in proportion.  He has a large masculine head with neat ears set well apart, pale orange almost yellow eyes, an undershot bite, a broad nose with a very deep break, fat cheeks and a good chin.  His soft dense coat is plush and a very good length with nice silver and clear black markings.  His markings were excellent with a nice “m” to his face and lines around and from his eyes with broken lines forming spots throughout his coat.  I was concerned about his bite but as he is a neuter I gave him the certificate on the day.

Proud arching profile, chin firm, excellent even bite. Very pleasing large maturely developed body, matching limbs and tail. Close coat in warm cinnamon, showing good breaks in pale red shades.  RES GR CC.  HIRST’S CH TOGHAR PASTICHE. (37h) 1yr 10mths. Daintier lady of good type., very well balanced and ‘together’. Even, equilateral wedge, on which ears of good size are well spaced and flared, eyes of very good almond shape and oriental incline, olive green in tone. Arched profile shows a little nose bump, chin lines up, incisors untidy but just meet.  Balanced body and limbs, tail to match. Coat of excellent texture, short and close, rich warm chestnut, very good warm breaks.  Also ConsideredCORBY & DOLAN’S GR CH IKISHIROO KIRASH TAMSIN. (37a) 2yrs 1mth.  Neat lass, not keen to show herself today. Medium length wedge, eyes well inclined though a little open, olive in tone,  ears need a little more flare but  set may have reflected her anxiety. Profile shows a gentle angle at the brow, chin rounds off, bite good.  Balanced body and limbs, tail in keeping, tiny terminal irregularity. Coat in good condition, very pleasing soft, sound blue.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE CHAMPION FEMALE
GR CC BROCK’S CH KARAMUSHI TUTI FRUITY. (32b1) 1yr 10mths.  Lady of very distinguished type, with an even wedge, great breadth at its top between large ears flared precisely north east and north west, inclined oriental eyes of deep blue. Very good straight profile, firm chin, excellent even bite. Harmoniously balanced body, limbs and tail. Close coat, showing warm seal points broken well by various red shades. Body shows some tortie shading but contrast sufficient. 2. (RES GR CC Withheld) CORBY & DOLAN’S CH IKISHIROO KIA JAM. (24c) 3yrs 8mths. Nice little lady with a medium length, slightly blunt wedge, needing a little more width at the top between the ears  of good size that she tends to hold just a tad up and forward. Eyes oriental and of good blue tone, Pleasing profile, gentlest angle at the brow line, straight above and below that. Balanced body, limbs and tail.  Matching points in a mid lilac shade, good contrast to magnolia body that shows a hint of matching shading.
ORIENTAL SHADED ADULT FEMALE.
Not as entered.  TOSUN’S SAITAN MISS TEASE. .This little lady was entered as 43bs but was unfortunately clearly not a silver. I did check with the Show Management but was informed that it was so entered so our hands were tied. She was a sweet, rather dainty lass for her age, with an even wedge, fine at the muzzle, large well spaced ears, oriental, olive toned eyes, very good straight profile, level chin and good bite. Neatl body, balancing limbs and tail. Sleek coat shows warm chocolate coat, rather ticked in appearance with an undercoat typical of a usual, which, I learned later, is what she is registered as. An unfortunate chapter of accidents I’m afraid.
ORIENTAL BLACK MALE NEUTER.
1 PC. BoB.  HALLIDAY’S PR TOGHAR MIDNITE MAJIK.  1yr 7mths.. In spite of this gentleman’s formidable type and appearance, he wanted nothing more than to hide it all under his voluminous blankets. He has a long wedge with a marginal pinch, excellent breadth at the top between large flaring ears, oriental eyes of very good bright green shade, super straight profile, level chin and bite. Wonderful, long, long body, matching limbs and tail with the hint of a terminal piplet. Gorgeous sleek coat texture, gleaming sound black. Needs to acquire a bit more starry panache to do himself proud.
TABBY POINT SIAMESE ADULT FEMALE.
1. BoB. OSBORNE’S SENSAY SHAI NEFER. (32 1) 2yrs 2mths.  Stunning head to this lady, an even equilateral, graced by huge beautifully spaced and flared ears that she bonnets just a little when interested in events.  Very striking eyes of deep navy blue. Profile shows the gentlest arch, chin and bite level. Graceful, slender neckline, long body, rather full tummy (? Full English breakfast before the Show?) balancing limbs, good length of tail. Close short coat shows warm tabby pattern on the points, tail rings somewhat darker, body now showing shading in a spotted pattern that most of the spotted tabbies on the Show bench would give their eye teeth for – beautifully discrete spots, but, despite these, some contrast evident 2. BRASH’S RIVANESS MIZ PRISSY. (32 2) 1yr 3mths. A girl of good type, but very shy today. Good even wedge head, ears of size, well placed and flared in line, oriental eyes, a little full, good blue shade. Straight profile, chin lines up, bite meets. Long slender body but very tense, would not let us straighten her out, balancing limbs, very good tail. Attractive soft blue tabby points, gently shaded cool body.
SEAL POINT SIAMESE KITTEN.
1. BoB. EVANS’ FLUTTERBY FUN TIME GAL. F. 7mths 3wks. Smart girl, quite well grown, of good type. Wedge even, crowned by ears of good size, spaced and flared, very good blue to her oriental eyes with a splendid hint of menace to some of her glances. Profile basically straight with a little bump over her muzzle at present, chin lines up, excellent even bite. Firm body, balanced limbs, tail could be a little longer for preference. Very strong even wedge, excellently spaced and flared ears of size, eye shape good, held a little open, deep violet blue in colour. SIAMESE/BALINESE ADULT/KITTEN/NEUTER.
1. BROCK’S CH KARAMUSHI TUTI FRUITY. (32b1) 1yr 10mths.  2. . GIBBON’S SHARUE BLUE NEMESIS. M. (24a) 5yrs 4mths. Large mature gentleman with a shorter, strongly boned wedge, sporting ears that are spaced and flared, might be a little larger perhaps for balance. Eye shape oriental, acceptable blue. Strong profile, just the merest angle at the brow, excellent chin, level bite. Great, firmly muscled body and limbs, tail balances. Thick coat, longish and slightly open, good soft blue points with body contrast present. 3  KELLY’S SUNLEY SONG. MN (24b) 2yrs 8mths.
AV ORIENTAL KITTEN.
1. SAMPHIER’S EIREACHDAIL GEORGIABROWN. F. (48 45) 6mths 3wks. Striking lass with a remarkable pattern. Medium length wedge, a touch blunt at the muzzle, ears of size, set quite well upon it, flared nicely, clear, light green, slightly full oriental eyes. Very good straight profile, rounded chin, good level bite. Dainty little body and limbs, proportionate tail. White sparkling, just over the required one third of body area in quantity, and just makes it to continuity down abdomen between two rather threatening promontories of soft colour that reach out from the sides toward the middle of the tummy. Coloured areas of coat show very good dramatic ticked pattern, evenly distributed, virtually no darkening over the spine line, clear banding of the hairs in a rather chocolaty shade, darker on the tabby tracings on the crown.
AC SIAMESE NEUTER.
1. SAXON’S PR SHIMILEETA STONECOLDCRAZY. (32 3) 2yrs 7mths.
AC SH NEUTER.
1. STARK’S DUSHENKA XARIABELLA FN (16a) 1yr 5mths. Sweet lady with a rather rounded wedge full face,  by virtue of the fur on her cheeks, which slightly obscure the whisker pads though they are there. Profile shows the required gentle curve brow to nose, with straight brow above, chin and bite excellent. Pointed ears, might be a little more obviously upright, but pretty good. Eyes spaced, rounded almond in shape, dazzling iridescent green in colour. Neat firm body, balanced limbs, proportionate, tapering tail. Coat of good soundness, dense and soft in texture, nice mid blue. 2. KELSALL’S GR PR ABYGLEN ASTARLET. FN. (23c) 8yrs 4mths. Senior lady, a bit cross,  with a moderate wedge, tapering to a slightly blunt muzzle defined by the required indentation. Ears might be a little larger, appropriately widely placed, just cupped. Eyes of oriental shape, super wicked crescent moons when viewed from above, goldy amber in tone. Profile shows a slight break, chin firm, bite not examined. Medium sized body, and limbs, tapered tail. Coat texture good, dense blue, a little short on clearly delineated ticking of the blue now, belly etc a pleasing warm mushroomy shade. Parting the blue hairs on the back and trunk, however, reveals a startlingly bright white undercoat stretching about one third of the way up the hair shafts, almost like that in a smoke though there is no indication of silver elsewhere as the belly etc are of the correct, warmer  shade.

Mrs D Butters

My thanks to Mrs Gillespy and her efficient team for inviting me to an extremely well organised show. I had a really lovely time in the company of my steward, Val Kaye and we had some really super cats over the day. Thanks Val, for your usual efficient steward and great company.

AC BIRMAN CHAMPION MALE
GRC, WHITBY’S GR CH SUCETTE PRINCE VALIANT, 13c4, 13.07.07
Lilac Point. A well balanced male with lovely breadth to the strong rounded head. Wide placed ears of medium size, very good breadth between. Full round cheeks. Really expressive large eyes, wonderful deep shade of blue. Slight dip in profile to the medium length nose, small drop-off towards the tip. Full chin. Long body with a solid feel to him. Well boned limbs of medium length, short strong  paws. Very bushy tail, just about in balance with the body. Long pale off-white coat, showing very good  contrast with the well developed pinkish-grey points. Tail was a little orange toned in comparison to the other points. Coat currently changing as he is dropping his winter coat, though the texture was silky and he had a full ruff framing the face. Beautifully marked gloves, ending evenly in  straight lines, finishing just below the angle of paw and leg. Well marked socks, even in length and covering the back feet. Full gauntlets, ending about three-quarters of the way up to the hocks, slightly rounded in shape at the end. He has a very sweet expression and could almost be termed ‘a pretty boy’, though that is not a derogatory comment. Lovely to handle and beautifully groomed.

AC BIRMAN PREMIER MALE
GRP, ROBINSON’S PR BULLAMOOR CASANOVA, 13c11, 16.07.06
Seal Tabby Point. A beautifully presented mature lad with medium sized ears, sitting wide apart on a strong broad rounded skull. Really deep blue eyes, large and almost round in shape. Good slight dip in profile, nose of medium length, small bump present. Chin showed good strength, could have been marginally fuller to really balance the top section of head. Long weighty body, substantial boning to limbs and paws, short strong paws. Very well furnished bushy tail, proportionate to body length. Long silky coat, pale beige with a slight golden hue over the shoulders. Nicely marked seal tabby points, with deep seal brown markings on a pale brown agouti base colour. Spectacles present around the eyes, well spotted whisker pads and an ‘M’ to the forehead. I would however, like to see more evidence of thumbprints to the ears. Bars evident on the front legs and he had some rings to the tail. Front feet had scalloped white gloves, rounded in shape, easily covering all toes. Right sock a little longer than the left. Nicely marked gauntlets which tapered well and ended about two-thirds of the way up to the hocks. Very easy to handle and shown in lovely condition.

AC BIRMAN PREMIER FEMALE
GRP, FORSYTH’S GR PR SUCETTE ON ICE, 13c4, 25.06.06
Lila Point. A mature female showing a really strong, yet feminine head, really rounded shape to the skull with full round cheeks and a nose of medium length with a slight dip present. Large eyes, not quite round, two-toned colour with mid-blue centres and slightly pale rims. Well developed muzzle. Chin shows good fullness. Very nice body shape indeed, long and muscular, in balance with the head size. Tail just about balanced the body, perhaps could be marginally longer for perfection. Really substantial boning to limbs and paws, especially for a female. Wonderful pale magnolia body colour, really silky coat, long and with a well developed ruff around the neck. Her coat felt gorgeous, Very well defined points, all well developed and pinkish-grey in colour, including up the legs. Tail was very slightly orange toned when compared with the mask and ears. Gloves angled outwards, covering all toes. The back of the left glove ended at the stopper pad, so was acceptable though I would not like to see it end any further up. Well marked socks, covering the back feet and quite even in length. Full gauntlets, ending just below the hocks, though rounded in shape rather than truly tapering, Great to handle and beautifully groomed.

SEAL POINT BIRMAN MALE
CC & BOB, MELLOR’S BULLAMOOR BRAVEHEART , 13c1, 05.06.08
Seal Point. Just under a year old and for a youngster, this male shows very nice overall breadth to the head with well filled round cheeks. Strong round masculine skull with ears of medium size, currently still sitting a little high, though should look very nice once his full adult head breadth develops. Large, expressive eyes, almost round in shape, two-toned with medium blue centres and slightly paler rims. Nose of good medium length, slight dip present, well developed muzzle, full chin. Long body, weighty and substantial, solid boning to medium length limbs, short strong paws. Balanced tail, proportional to body length and very well furnished with a bushy texture. Quite a long coat already present with a nice ruff around the neck, the coat texture felt really silky. Points developing well, already deep seal brown to ears and mask, though there was slight brindling to the eye area. Colour depth developing up the limbs. Tail was slightly paler than the other points and also a little brindled. Well marked gloves, ending in straight lines, just below the angle of paw and limb. Socks were even in length and covered the back feet. Left gauntlet was slightly shorter than the right and I would like to see them both a little longer for perfection. They ended in rounded to blunt ends rather than really tapering. A well grown young man, very well groomed and lovely to handle.

CHOCOLATE/LILAC POINT BIRMAN MALE
BOB, WHITBY’S GR CH SUCETTE PRINCE VALIANT, 13c4, 13.07.07
Lilac Point. My Grand winner, reported above.

CHOCOLATE/LILAC POINT BIRMAN FEMALE
1ST BUT CC WITHHELD, SAYE’S ESAYA SPELLBOUND, 13c3, 15.07.08
Chocolate Point. A very friendly young lady who was lovely to handle. At the moment she is very kitten-like with a head showing rounded shape, breadth developing. Ears typically still a little on the large side and sitting a little high, though they should look nice once full head breadth develops. Cheeks yet to really fill out. Stunning deep blue eye colour, large, very expressive eyes. Good slight dip to the medium length nose. Well developed muzzle, full chin. Body length proportionate to head size, though overall, at the moment she is rather small and dainty, which was my reason for reluctantly having to withhold the certificate today. She still looks like a kitten, rather than a young adult, even taking into account that she is only 10 ½ months old. She has lovely basic type but now needs to grow on and develop. Tail was proportionate to body length and nicely furnished with a bushy texture. Medium length coat, silky texture with some ruff framing the face. Warm toned chocolate to well developed mask and ear colour, colour extending up the limbs. Tail was paler in depth when compared to the other points. Rounded shape to gloves with white covering all toes. Left sock slightly longer than the right, both covered the back feet. Left gauntlet was well marked, right ended in a hook, both finished just below the hocks. Well presented and very easy to handle. I feel that this girl just needs time to mature and grow, though she does have promising Birman type.

AC BI-COLOURED RAGDOLL MALE
CC & BOB, GILLAN’S VONVARDA JACK FLASH, 66 31a, 12.05.08
Blue Bi-Colour. A lovely lad all round, very well grown indeed for twelve months old. Wide set ears, sitting with a slightly forward tilt and medium in size with a flat plane between them. Well developed cheeks, good definition to the rounded muzzle.  Mid-blue eyes, large and set in a good slight oblique set. Gentle dip to the nose, slightly retrousse towards the tip and overall medium in length. Firm chin. Really long muscular body, broad chest, large boning to medium length limbs, big round paws. Balanced bushy tail, reaching the shoulders. Medium length coat with a ruff framing the face, coat felt very silky and dense. He had well grown knickerbockers. Generally nice inverted ‘v’ to the face, slight hook of colour below the left eye. White from chin to tail base along the entire length of the underbody. Full white collar and white limbs. Body colour was bluish white with a medium shade of bluish grey to the mask, ears and tail. Wonderful to handle and a very impressive young man indeed.

AC BI-COLOURED RAGDOLL FEMALE
CC, CARR’S EMERILSE ELLA-ENCHANTED, 66 31e, 17.07.08
Seal Tortie Bi-Colour. A very attractive and unusually marked female showing very good Ragdoll type. Head of very pleasing breadth for a ten month old female, good flat plane between medium sized ears that were well placed and set with a slightly forward tilt. Cheeks already quite full and well developed. She has absolutely stunning deep blue eyes, quite large and set in a very good slight oblique setting. Medium length nose, lovely profile with a gentle dip and slightly retrousse towards the tip. Well defined rounded muzzle. Very well grown, broad chest, long weighty muscular body and substantial boning to legs and paws. Tail balanced the body well, reaching the shoulders, very well furnished and bushy. Evenly marked inverted ‘v’ to the face, all limbs white, with white along the entire length of the underbody. She has quite a high level of white over the back and sides, full white collar and patches of white to the body, and I would not like to see the level of white any higher as it is borderline 1/3 white now. The body had patches and mingled mixtures of beige and cream to the body, showing contrast with the mask and ears, both of which exhibited both seal brown and shades of red. The tail also had both colours, though overall the tail depth of colour was paler than the other points. Medium length coat, ruff framing the face, plenty of knickerbockers present, dense and silky feel to the medium length coat. A lovely female to handle and she had been beautifully groomed.

AOC MAINE COON KITTEN
1ST & BOB, LONGLEY’S LONCOON CARRIE, 64 41e, F, 23.12.08
Classic Tortie-Tabby. A very pretty girl with a good strong head of medium length and already showing nice breadth for a five month old kitten with cheeks filling out and high set cheek bones. Huge ears, well furnished with tips and tufts, sitting high on the head, giving her a very alert expression. Large hazel coloured eyes, set well apart and in a slight oblique setting. Shallow concave curve to the nose. Very well defined square muzzle when viewed from all angles. Firm deep chin. Long muscular body, large boning to limbs, large round tufted feet. Long tail, easily reaching the shoulders, furnishings developing length. Currently a soft baby coat with longer glossy topcoat developing, ruff and breeches present. Attractive tortie pattern, bright red flash going up the forehead, some patches of red and brown tabby over the body, other areas mingled. She had a nicely marked classic tabby pattern. Confident and easy to handle. Well presented.

AC BI-COLOURED RAGDOLL
1ST & BOB, BENNETT’S SAFELINE COFFEEPOT, 66 31, F, 04.11.08
Seal Bi-Colour. A nicely balanced female with medium/large ears which are already sitting quite wide apart and set with a good slightly forward tilt. She has a clear flat plane between the ears. Cheeks just starting to fill, good rounded shape to the muzzle. Eyes currently two-toned with mid blue centres and paler blue rims. Initially they appeared rather dominant and bold, though the shape and set improved as she relaxed in her pen. Long body, well grown and nicely muscled with good breadth to chest. Quite large boning to medium length legs, round paws. Bushy texture to a long tail which reached the shoulders. Medium length coat, nice silky feel, some ruff and knickerbockers present. Body colour was pale beige with a slightly deeper toned beige along the spineline. Well marked inverted ‘v’ to the face, white along the entire length of the underbody, white limbs. Well developed seal brown mask, dark seal brown ears, tail slightly paler than the head. Initially a little shy, her confidence grew as we handled her. A promising baby.

NORWEGIAN FOREST KITTEN
1ST & BOB, THOMAS’ SISKADELL DASHING DANDY, 67 31, M, 16.02.09
Black & White. I just loved this baby and really wanted to take him home with me, sadly when speaking to his owner after finishing my judging, she would not let him emigrate to South  Yorkshire. Huge ears, set high and nicely furnished. Clear triangular head shape with a long ruler straight nasal profile. Lovely oblique set to green eyes, he really looks down his nose at you. Eyes of very good oval shape. Chin quite firm and of good depth. Long body of very good weight for age, well boned limbs, back legs slightly longer than the front ones. Long tail, easily reaching the shoulders, furnishing starting to lengthen. Baby coat with long guardhairs present, overall a typical shorter kitten coat at the moment, as expected. Very attractive black and white pattern, Sylvester type. Great to handle and presented beautifully with pristine whites.
2ND THOMAS’ MOONKIST PRETTY NIFTY, 67 19, M, 09.01.09
Red Tabby. Actually, this boy is a red tabby & white rather than a straight red tabby, though because colour has no points, this was not important in this class, though could be if he is to be used for breeding in the future. Lovely large ears, sitting high of a very good triangular head of very pleasing overall length. Oval shaped eyes, quite obliquely set, colour currently changing, being pale amber at the moment. Overall I felt that my winner had the edge when it came to eye set today. Good straight nasal profile. Chin could be a fraction firmer. Really long body, muscular and of very good weight. Balanced, well boned limbs, he stands slightly higher on the back legs. Excellent tail length, reaching the shoulders, furnishings starting to lengthen. Coat is typical of a five month old, glossy slightly harsher guardhairs lengthening, woolly undercoat yet to come. He does have white to the underbody and paws. Another very well presented young man who shows promise.
3RD PARKES’ NORGESKAUKATT SNOST JERNE, 67 14c, M, 03.12.08
Green Eyed White. A really well grown chap, showing wonderful body length, substance and size. Strong masculine head, good triangular shape and overall length. Large ears, set in line with the outlines of the head. Green eyes, very slightly hooded though showing good oval shape and set obliquely. Straight profile to the nose. Unfortunately, he has a mal-aligned jaw, twisting to the left (confirmed by the duty vet) and this was my main reason for his placing in the class today. Fabulous body for length, weight, size and muscularity. He has huge boning to limbs and paws. Lovely long tail, very well furnished indeed and reaching the shoulders. White coat, very well developed for age with longer, slightly coarser guardhairs covering the woolly undercoat. He already has a well developed ruff and knickerbockers. Lovely to handle and well presented.

MAINE COON BROWN.BLUE TABBY MALE
PC & BOB, BAKER’S JULESCOON BLACKJACK, 64 41, MN, 29.11.07
Classic Brown Tabby. This boy was simply huge, yet very well balanced all round. Large ears, set just over an ear’s width apart on the head, they were very well furnished with tips and tufts. Really strong masculine head of medium length, overall slightly longer than its breadth. Fairly full cheeks with high set cheek bones. Green eyes, set quite wide apart, slightly obliquely set, though a little deep set. Shallow concave nasal curve, small nose bump evident below the nasal bridge. Very well defined square muzzle, firm deep chin. Fabulous body, broad chest, long rectangular body shape, really massive boning to legs and round tufted paws. Very well balanced tail, beautifully furnished and flowing. Really good coat qualities all round, full ruff, coat shorter over the shoulders, increasing in length down the back and sides of the body, full breeches. Very glossy topcoat covering the undercoat. Even though he has such a full coat, he has a clear classic tabby pattern including tramlines and oysters. The coat colour was a warm brown tabby, comprising a rich warm brown agouti base and black markings. An impressive young man who was very well groomed for the show.
2ND STANTON’S COCOON RUSTIBLUEOFTHEROVERS, 64 20, MN, 06.08.06
Brown Tabby. Another male of very good size and balance. Large ears, nicely furnished and set just over an ear’s width apart on the head. Medium length head, showing good length to breadth ratio and fairly full cheeks, though his cheeks were not quite as well developed as my winner’s. He does tend to flare the ears, though holds them up nicely once his attention is gained. Like the previous cat, he also has a small nose bump, though he does have a shallow concave nasal curve. Square muzzle, firm chin. Long rectangular body, good weighty muscular feel to him. Very well boned legs and large round tufted paws. Lovely long flowing tail, reaching the shoulders. Quite a full ruff, coat shorter than the previous cat, though showing some undercoat and a glossy topcoat. Some bridling evident within the coat, though quite a well marked classic tabby pattern, not quite as clear as my winner’s despite being a slightly shorter coat. Warmish beige agouti base colour, with black markings. He was extremely friendly and easy going, super to handle and nicely groomed. Unlucky to meet my winner today as he is worthy of a PC in his own right.

My thanks to show managers, Mrs Gillhespy and MissWatson and the Durham cat club for the invitation and hospitality. I had a lovely day with Pauline Christian who kindly agreed to steward for me at the last minute. She is an expert in handling the cats and really puts them at their ease and was a wonderful helpful companion on show day for which I thank her very much.

AC Self Premier Male

1 GR PC McKenzie’s GR PR JUKALOUPURZ SAPPHIRE STAR

A blue male who is almost five years old who has excellent physique and good persian type. He had a balanced body that was very cobby and of a good weight set low on sturdy thick legs with huge fat paws that had lovely long feathers. The chest was broad and he had a well rounded rump. Very broad skull, smooth and well rounded with neat ears that were set far apart. Broad flat face with cheeks that were full and plump and he had a broad muzzle with good whisker pads. The nose was short and broad with a full blue nose leather and good nasal openings. The bite was almost level and he had a firm balanced chin. Very noticeable large round eyes that were bold and had eye colour that was a little pale possibly due to his age. His mid length coat was a soft shade of blue and was just like a full powder puff and was beautifully prepared. It was an even shade of blue with a few slightly darker tips to the guard hairs on his back. He had a bib with a good frill covering the neck and shoulders, lovely fluffy trousers and ending with a short fully plumed thick tail and was superbly groomed. A blue teddy bear of a cat who had a lovely nature and whose presentation and condition was a credit to his owner.

Black Male Adult

1 CC and BOB Piasecki’s LAFREBELLA JOSIAH

A young male of eleven months who was a pleasing all round exhibit with good type, still not fully mature but he has plenty of time on his side to develop his masculine physique still further. Medium length body at present which was cobby in shape, of a good weight, solid and well muscled. Rounded rump region and short stocky legs. Lovely head for type which was very broad, rounded and well balanced. Neat ears that were well settled with good distance in between. Bright alert eyes of good size and rounded  shape with deep orange eye colour. Flat profile with a very short nose that had a tiny nose leather but which had good size nostrils and a strong nose break. Well formed broad muzzle with fat cheeks, deep chin and a not quite level bite. He had a dense black coat of medium length with full trousers and a short thick fluffy tail. The tummy had some slight seasonal shadiness being a little rusty but the coat was otherwise very sound to the roots and free of any greyness. Show manners were good and he was well presented.

Black  Female Adult

1 CC Piasecki’s LAFREBELLA JOZEFINA

A litter sister to the black boy but who was not in coat and appeared as if she had been in call for some time as she was a little light in weight when handled which is not unusual for females who call persistently at this time of year. She had pleasing type and was of medium build with short stocky legs and could have done with more substance to the body. Head type was good having a broad top of head with a rounded forehead and well set ears of small size, placed far apart on the skull and a little open at the base. Shapely round eyes had deep orange eye colour and pleasing expression. Very short nose with a very strong nose break, full nose leather which had generous size nostrils. Cheeks were fairly wide with a muzzle that was needing to fill out further being just a touch narrow. The chin was very strong and firm and she had a scissor bite. Her coat was of medium length and lacking in undercoat but was very black and shiny on her back but lying a little flat. She had no frill and the tail was short and fairly well furnished. A girl who was nervous when handled and who needs to have time out for a litter and time to fill out further to reach her full potential. I deliberated whether I should award a certificate on account of her lack of coat but decided that she was worthy on account of her type.

Cream Female Adult

1 CC and BOB Armstrong’s CH TRACYLOOE PANDARUSPASSION

A cream female who is almost two who has good type and a cobby persian physique. She is well grown with a firm solid body, broad chest and well rounded rump supported on short stocky legs with well rounded paws with long feathering. Very broad head shape with a definite head bump and widely spaced ears which were of a very small size and had lovely long ear feathers. Stunning bold eyes that were very large with deep copper colour. Broad flat face had a very short nose with a tiny pink nose leather and very small nostrils that I would have liked to be larger. Well developed muzzle with full cheeks and a strong chin. The bite was narrow and not quite level but she wriggled a great deal to stop us having a closer look at it. She had a lovely full coat of fairly pale cream which had just a little seasonal shadiness over her back at the tips of the hair but which was sound at the roots. There was a long frill framing the face, fluffy trousers and a short fully furnished tail. I felt that I could award a challenge certificate to this exhibit today although I withheld a higher award recently at a previous show.

Tortooiseshell Colourpoint Female

A lovely class with two delightful girls.

1 CC and BOB McClusky’s JOHNNYCAKE SNOW PRINCESS

A seal point girl of eleven months of age with good type and a sweet facial expression. She has total balance in head and body and is very feminine. Compact cobby body shape of medium size which was firm with a broad rump and short dumpy legs with well rounded paws. Good head width with a smooth skull, rounded forehead and well set ears of small size separated far apart. Shapely round eyes with good blue eye colour that was two tone at present and which were very expressive.
Flat profile with a cute very short up turned nose with a clear break and a full nose leather that was showing both pink and black. Excellent muzzle width with full apple cheeks and a very strong chin and a scissor bite. The coat was lovely being long and full covering the body well and was a clear creamy colour. She had a long frill covering her shoulders and running between the front legs. Her mask covered the face fully and had correct tortie colours of black and shades of red and matched the other points. All four paws were well broken and she had a short full tail showing both black and red. Her tummy was totally cream but had a slight shady spot between her legs. A very sweet exhibit who is very promising and well behaved when being judged.

2 Malcolmson’s RISETTA DANCING QUEEN

An eleven month old girl who is very pretty and who has also got good type and unlucky to meet her competitor today. She is a heavier female than the open class winner with a cobby well built body of medium size with good body proportions set low on short squat legs with rounded paws that were well patched with tortie colours. Broad skull shape with a slight head bump present and with widely spaced ears of small size with good ear feathers. Expressive eyes which were large, fully round and had good blue eye colour that was showing two tones. She had full well rounded cheeks and a muzzle that was broad and had good whisker pads. The profile was flat with a short broad nose with a strong stop and full nose leather. The chin was firm and she had a scissor bite. Tortie markings were clear showing both black and shades of red on the body and the mask covered the face well. The coat was a clear cream but was slightly shady over both the flanks and she had a dark patch on her tummy between the legs. The coat was of a good length and she had fluffy trousers with a short bushy tail that was lacking in tortie colours. A well groomed girl who had a sweet temperament when handled.

AOC Self Colourpoint Male

1 CC and BOB Hunter’s ELLSKITZ CRUSADER

A young red point boy just over a year old with good type and still a little immature and yet has plenty of development ahead of him which means he can only get more masculine in looks. He had an excellent broad head which was well rounded and smooth and held neat ears spaced far apart which were a rich shade of red. The eyes were large in size and fully round with acceptable blue colour. The profile was flat with a broad and very short nose that had a strong nose break and a full pink nose leather with well opened nostrils. Fat rounded cheeks gave the face plenty of width and he had a broad muzzle. A strong chin balanced the upper part of the face and he had a good level bite. He was well grown with a firm solid body shape that was cobby and set on strong thick legs. The neck was thick and he had a broad rounded rump. The coat was very full and was a pale apricot white shade and had a soft texture. The points were well defined and were a rich shade of red on the ears and tail but the mask and other points were a paler shade. The tail was short and very bushy and was in proportion to the body length. A good natured boy when handled.

Blue Male Neuter

BOB McKenzie’s CH and PR JUKALOUPURZ SAPPHIRE STAR

Maine Coon Silver Series Kitten

1 and BOB Spence and Rust’s  LIONMAINE MUSTANG SALLY

A seven month old silver classic tabby and white maine coon girl who was of a good size for her age and sex with a sturdy, well muscled firm body of good length and width of chest supported on strong legs and large well rounded paws with short tufts. Body shape was rectangular and she had a fairly long neck and a square shaped rump. The head was of medium length with the nasal bridge equidistant between the ear line and nose tip and with a nose that had a shallow curve when viewed in profile. Tall ears graced the top of head which were sitting high and open, wide at the base with good ear tufts and shorter silvery ear feathers.  She had large round eyes that were well spaced apart and set slightly oblique with yellowish eye colour and had clear paler spectacles. The cheek bones were high set and the cheeks were filling out and she had a fairly square silvery white muzzle with a good level bite. Her coat was fairly long on the body and rump and shorter over the neck and head. The tummy fur and breeches were full and shaggy and she had a long tail that was well furnished, flowing, reaching the shoulders and slightly tapered at the tip. The bib and underside were a clean sparkling white and all four feet had white socks while the tabby markings were black against a silvery white agouti ground. Tabby markings were evident on the head and body with a characteristic ‘M’ on her forehead, headlines and eye lines. There was a clear butterfly over her shoulders and the long tail had a hint of tabby rings which could have been stronger. A most relaxed exhibit who had a sweet gentle nature and who was well shown.

Piasecki’s CH PURRSRUS SIMPLY RED

A red tabby boy who was over five years of age. He was well grown with a cobby frame, broad chest and rounded rump with a body set low on the leg but who felt a little thin down his back region. Head shape was broad and rounded with neat ears that were sited far apart and had good length of ear feathers. Shapely round eyes of large size, wide open with eye colour that was pale and more yellow orange rather than copper and which may have faded over the years due to the fact that he is an older cat. The nose was broad and very short with a good nose break and a full pink nose leather. He had a paler well developed muzzle that was showing some tabby spotting.  The cheeks were full and he had a strong chin with a scissor bite. The coat was long and full with a well developed frill framing the face. It was a fairly even shade of red but was not a deep red but more of an orange yellow shade and was very lacking in tabby markings. The tail was short and very bushy and did not have any tabby rings. There were hardly any tabby markings on the head or body. He had a solid back and the coat colour was rather pale. A gentle boy when handled who was in good show condition.

1 Hadfield’s TEXAS HOLDUM

A thirteen month old brown tabby exotic boy who had excellent type with a well rounded head that was massive, strong and with good width between the ears which were neat and round tipped. The nose was short and broad and was of even width with a strong stop and a fully formed deep pink nose leather. He had fully rounded plump cheeks and a broad muzzle, strong well balanced chin and a good bite. The eyes were bold and round and were of a good size with eye colour that were a muddy colour and was still changing and should be good later. His body was large and heavy, cobby in shape with a broad rounded rump and a thick neck region set on strong well muscled legs with large rounded paws. The coat was dense and had an excellent plush texture standing out well from the body and of medium length. The tail was short and very thick. Tabby markings were very clear on the head and body being a strong black over a rich copper brown agouti ground colour. He had a strong ‘M’ on his forehead, pale spectacles around the eyes and correct head lines with pencilling on the cheeks and eye lines running to the sides of the face. He had clear necklaces and bracelets on his limbs. The body markings were those of a spotted tabby as he lacked any spine lines and had numerous rounded spots on the back and body sides and the tail was very well ringed. A very handsome boy who had a lovely gentle nature.

A most attractive tortie and white adult who has very distinctive markings on the head and body. She is just over a year old and has a well grown cobby body shape with a well rounded rump set on short thick legs. Head type was good with a broad top of head that carried small ears that were set far apart on the skull and had long ear feathers that were showing all the tortie colours of red, black and white. Her profile was flat with a very short snub nose that had a strong nose break and a full pink nose leather with good size nasal openings. Her expressive rounded eyes were large and had excellent deep copper colour. The face was attractively patched with tortie colouring with a red moustache over her broad muzzle which was white, a white spot on her forehead, a red chin that was deep and balanced and she had fully rounded cheeks and a scissor bite. The back of her head was black and she had a white bib and underside and all four legs were white. There were red and black patches over her shoulders and the base of her tail while the lower back was white. Her tail was short bushy and fully coloured with red and black. A cat with a very sweet nature who was well prepared for the bench.

Mcclusky’s JENZJEWELS ZURI

A mackerel tortie tabby girl who is just over a year old who has good persian type with a sweet facial expression and lovely temperament. Shapely cobby body with good breadth across the rump and short stocky legs and lovely feathered paws. Wide top of head which had a slight head bump and with small well feathered ears fitting neatly into skull contours. Well pencilled eyes of very large size that were full and round with good copper eye colour and showing clear tabby spectacles. Short nose showing a good nose break with a full pink nose leather edged with black. Well developed fat apple cheeks with a broad paler spotted muzzle, scissor bite and a firm balanced chin. The coat was long and fairly full with a short frill, fluffy trousers and a short very bushy tail. It was soft and of a good texture and was well groomed. Tortie colouring of red was visible in places on the back of the head and lightly in places on the body but could have been more prominent. Tabby markings on the head were very clear showing as black on a copper brown ground colour with pencilling on the cheeks and clear lines running over the top of head. She had a definite ‘M’ on her forehead and faint necklaces around the neck, a clear butterfly over the shoulders and mackerel stripes running down her sides but tabby markings were hard to see over her back which lacked spine lines. A well behaved girl who was pleased to be handled.

 1 Hadfield’s   A HEAVENSENT MR IRRESISTIBLE (IMP)

A red tabby boy who was thirteen months of age. A very cobby chap who had a muscular well rounded body shape with a broad rump and chest supported on short thick low set legs. He had a wonderful top of head that was very broad and rounded with good spacing between the ears which were well endowed with long ear feathers and were fairly neat. Very short and very broad nose with a strong nose break and a pink nose leather. Full cheeks of good width with a broad muzzle that was paler in colour than the rest of the face and was spotted. The chin was deep and firm and he had a scissor bite. The eyes were huge in size and fully round in shape with a wideawake bold expression with paler spectacles and with excellent deep copper colour. His coat was full and very long and he had a short bushy tail and fluffy trousers. The colour of the coat was a warm shade of red that could have been a richer red overlying a bright apricot undercoat. Tabby markings were visible on his head with a definite ‘M’ and faint head lines and pencilling on the cheeks. Body markings, however, were diffuse on the body and tail due no doubt to the fact that he had a good length of coat and so it was hard to see barring on the limbs, spots on the tummy area and rings on the tail. A good natured boy who handled well and who was well presented.

1 Craig and Bell’s SHEERBLISS ARABELLA

A tiny tortie andwhite exotic baby of three months of age and who was hardly old enough to be at a show. She was a very sleepy kitten and we felt guilty waking her up to judge her. She had very good type with a smooth well rounded head with tiny well set ears that were positioned far apart. Sweet apple face with round eyes that still had eye colour that was changing and that she reluctantly opened for us. It was a very muddy shade and promising to be good later. Tiny snub nose with a definite stop and good size nose leather.  She had white on her muzzle which was filling out and she had well rounded cheeks and a small red moustache. The chin was deep and balanced the upper part of the face and was black in colour. I decided not to check her bite as she was so small and I did not want to disturb her further. The bib and underside were a clean white. The tail was very short and thick and fully coloured. The coat was of medium length and was fairly dense showing good tortie patches of black and red although it was not plush and was lying a little flat but has plenty of time to develop later as she grows. The patches were even and sound in colour and she had a white bib and underside with all four paws showing some white. A delightful baby.

AC Non Self Female

1 McKenzie’s CH and PR JUKALOUPURZ MYSTICAL ANGEL

A blue cream female who was almost five years old. She had a very broad top of head with neat ears that were well placed on top. The eyes were round in shape and large in size but had poor eye colour that was nearly yellow orange due to her older age and may have faded with time and age. Correct profile which was flat and the nose had a strong break and a very small nose leather and nostrils which I would have liked to be larger. The cheeks were fairly full and the muzzle had width. The chin was very deep and strong and the bite was level. She had a cobby body shape with good fluffy trousers and a short bushy tail. The coat colour was not fully intermingled and the face and body were a little too creamy in places and a little warm in colour. The coat also felt a little coarse in texture ass she was not in full coat on the day and was lacking in undercoat. A gentle girl who handled well.

AC Members Male or Female

1 Wall’s CH SHEERBLISS NIKOLAI

A very heavy muscular black silver mackerel tabby exotic boy with excellent physique who is nearing three years of age. He has a massive rounded head with a strong skull shape which was very masculine and had good width between the ears which were sited far apart and were neat with rounded tips. Round saucer shaped eyes that were very bold and with orange eye colour that could have been deeper allowance being made for the fact that he is three years old. The profile was flat with a short broad nose that had a strong nose break and a fully formed nose leather. Fat chubby cheeks gave width to the face and he had a broad muzzle, fat whisker pads, a deep chin and an almost level bite. Body shape was cobby and large, set low on strong tree trunk legs which had fat rounded paws. He had a thick neck and a broad chest with a well rounded rump. Tabby markings were very clear on the head and body showing dense black patterning overlying a silvery agouti ground colour and with the characteristic ‘M’ on his forehead, spectacles around the eyes and strong head and eye lines visible. The neck had very distinct necklaces and there was clear barring on the legs and a spotted tummy. His back showed only two narrow dark lines running the length of the body rather than a central line with two broken lines on either side but he had numerous thin lines running down his sides.  The tail was short and very thick, shaped like a policeman’s truncheon. The coat was fairly dense and plush, standing out from the body but he was moulting a little and hence was not at its best. A gentleman when handled.

AV SLH Junior Male

This was large class and I asked the show manager if I could give extra placings but which still left some very good cats without a place which I very much regret.

1 Campbell’s GR CH DOTCOM LESTER

A very majestic brown classic tabby and white maine coon boy who knows he has something special. He is a real favourite of mine and always catches my eye. He is not yet two years of age and has excellent physique. His body shape is truly rectangular and long with a long neck and a very square rump. His legs are strong and muscular with large rounded paws with short tufts. He has good head shape which is of medium size and has the correct distance between the ear line and tip of nose. The ears are tall and pointed and were well sited on the head. They had good long black ear tufts with shorter pale ear feathers and were open at the base. His large round eyes had a slight oblique setting in the face and were a greenish yellow shade. The profile had a shallow curve at the nasal bridge and the nose was of uniform width with a fully formed brick red nose leather. The cheeks were full with high cheek bones and the muzzle was spotted and fairly square. The chin was firm and he had a level bite. The coat was shaggy on his tummy and breeches and he had a short frontal ruff running between the fore legs while the coat on his head and neck was shorter. The coat colour  was a rich shade of copper overlaid by black tabby markings and had a glossy texture and were clear classic markings on the body but more diffuse elsewhere. His head had a clear ‘M’ on his forehead, head lines running over the top of head and pencilling on his cheeks. He had a well defined butterfly over the shoulders and oysters on his flanks. White areas were confined to the bib, chest and underside and all four feet had white socks. The legs had clear barring and his tail which could have been a touch longer had faint tabby rings and was full with long flowing fur that tapered slightly at the tip. Always a worthy winner and a gentle boy who needed block and tackle to get him out of the pen!

2 Hopkin’s DRAGONMAINE SHADESLAYER

A blue classic tabby and white maine coon boy who was eleven months of age and who was very well grown. Body shape was very long and rectangular and he was of a heavy weight with a muscular body with good width of chest. He had a square shaped rump and a fair length of neck. The legs were strong and had good boning with large round paws that had short tufts. Medium length head had tall tufted ears that were large and pointed, set high on the head, spaced well apart. He had a square muzzle with high cheek bones and cheeks that were still filling out. The nose was of uniform width and had a shallow curve at the nasal bridge with a full pink nose leather edged with blue. He had a firm chin and a level bite. The eyes had an oblique setting and were of a yellowish shade and were full and round in shape. The coat was of medium length and was longer on the body and underside and was glossy in texture and had blue markings on a beige agouti ground and was shorter on the head and neck regions. The bib and underside area between the legs were white and he had four white feet. The tail was long and well furnished finishing with a slightly tapered end. Tabby markings were visible on the head and body. He had clear spectacles around the eyes and an ‘M’ on his forehead. The legs had a hint of barring and the body had classic tabby markings. A most relaxed cat when handled who just flopped down on the trolly for us.

X2 Waite’s CH OLIROSE SILVER STORM

A well built silver classic tabby and white maine coon male who is just over a year and a half. Medium head size which had tall feathered ears set on top which were wide at the base and had ear tufts rising from the pointed tips. The face had large round eyes with greenish eye colour which were set slightly oblique and had clear pale spectacles. The profile had a shallow curve at the nasal bridge and the nose was of uniform width with a pink nose leather edged very clearly with blue. He had a good square muzzle with fairly high cheek bones and a firm chin with a level bite. The head had clear lines running over the top of head and there were lines running from each eye to the sides of the face. The solid body had a long neck and was rectangular in shape of good length and supported on substantial legs that were well muscled and all four feet had white socks and had large rounded paws which were very well tufted. The coat was glossy and was shaggy on the underside and breeches and shorter over the head and neck. It had a silvery agouti ground and had a slight spot of tarnishing on his back and a little spot on his face. The bib and underside were white and tabby markings were of a classic pattern over the body and legs. He had a long well furnished tail that reached well to the shoulders and tapered at the tip. Show temperament was good.

3 Payne’s DRAGONMAINE STRONG FLAME

A very large red classic tabby maine coon boy just over a year old with excellent physique and strong body shape with well muscled legs that supported his massive frame and which had huge round paws that had slightly short tufts. Head of medium length and correct proportions which had a square muzzle, high cheek bones and a long nose of uniform width which had a slight curve at the nasal bridge and a full pink nose leather. The ears were tall, tufted and pointed at the tips with paler ear feathers and wide at the base and sitting well on the head. His eyes were round and large and had yellowish eye colour surrounded by pale spectacles and had an oblique setting in the face. The tail was very long reaching well to the shoulders and the coat was very shaggy on his tummy and longer on the breeches than the head and neck. It was of a fairly rich shade of red overlying an apricot agouti ground colour and was seen on the head to have a clear ‘M’ on his forehead, facial lines and strong tabby lines down his back and barring on the legs and tail. A good natured cat when handled.

AV SLH Junior Female

My thanks to exhibitors for this lovely class of cats that was so hard to separate and I would have really liked to give out more awards if I could have done!

1 Doble’s BULLAMOOR POENIEROSE

A tortie birman girl of one year with good type who had a well shaped head that was rounded and had good width. Her nose was of medium length and had a slight dip in profile.  The cheeks were well rounded and full and the chin was firm and tapered slightly. The ears were well placed on the head and were of medium size and her eyes were almost round in shape and had mid blue eye colour. The tortie markings on the face were very good with both seal brown and light and dark shades of red visible both on her ears and face with the nose having a blaze being half red and half seal brown. Her body was well grown and she was a fair weight for a female with good body length, supported on medium height legs that were thick and had short strong paws. Her tail was in proportion to the body length and was bushy with tortie colouring visible. The coat was lovely being long, full and very soft and silky in texture with a full ruff around her neck and was slightly curly on her tummy region. It covered her body well and was of a pale fawn shade and was beautifully prepared. The points were well defined and contrasted well with the body colour and all showed the required tortie shades of seal brown and red on each point. Foot markings were pristine white with front paws having gloves that were matching and slightly scalloped on the upper surface. The underside had one glove slightly longer but otherwise of acceptable length and did not reach the stop. The socks were matching and covered the entire foot and she had gauntlets of equal lengths but the left one was slightly more pointed and both could have been a little longer to a point almost below the hock for perfection. A girl with a delightful sweet nature who was lovely to handle.

2 Carr’s EMERISLE ELLA- ENCHANTED

A very lovely seal tortiepoint bicolour ragdoll who really caught my eye. She was a large well built girl who was very striking in appearance having a well muscled body with a short thick neck and a broad chest. The head had good width with the correct flat plane on top and plenty of width between feathered ears which were of medium size, with rounded edges and well set with a slight forward tilt. She had lovely eyes, so expressive and which were large, well opened with the fabulous deep blue eye colour. Her nose was of medium length and had a correct slightly retrousee tip with a gentle dip at the nasal bridge and ending with a full pink nose leather. The cheeks were well rounded and the muzzle was broad with a firm chin and a level bite. Tortie markings of seal brown and shades of red were excellent on the top of head being well intermingled with shades of cream and the body had a lovely full coat of mainly white which had large beige patches on the back and sides. The tail was full in proportion to the body length and had correct tortie colouring as did the other points. A very relaxed exhibit when judged and who was well presented.

X2 Pool’s DALTEEMA STARDUST

Another beautiful chocolate tortie birman girl, only eleven months old who has not yet reached her full potential but is very promising and I hope that I get a chance of seeing her later when she is older. She was well grown with a medium sized body that was solid, of a good weight and carried on medium legs that were sturdy and had thick set strong paws. Excellent width of head that was broad, well rounded and had medium sized ears well placed on top and were well intermingled with tortie colours. Excellent eye shape that were almost round and had lovely deep blue eye colour. The nose had a slight dip at the nasal bridge giving her a good birman profile and had a split coloured blaze along its length showing chocolate brown and shades of red with a full dark chocolate nose leather. The cheeks were full and she had a firm chin that was a creamy shade which tapered slightly and a level bite. The mask was almost fully covering the face and was showing well intermingled tortie colouring although the legs and tail were slightly paler. The coat was lovely and very clear, being a pleasing shade of ivory with a ruff developing over the shoulders and was of a silky soft texture. Her tail was of medium length and in proportion to the body length and was well furnished and showing tortie colours. The foot markings were clean and pure white. Her gloves were set a touch low on the upper side of the paws, slightly scalloped but symmetrical and on the underside were matching and difficult to see the limit next to the very pale shade of the front paws. The socks covered the feet well and were evenly matched and symmetrical. The gauntlets were almost matching and reaching almost to the hock. A girl with a lovely temperament who was well shown.

3 Paine’s DRAGONMAINE BATTLEHEART

X3 Pool’s DALTEEMA SARMOYAH TOPAZ

A cream birman girl who was just over a year old with pleasing good type.  Strong skull shape that was broad and rounded with well set ears of medium size that were placed far apart. She had almost round eyes that had deep blue colour and were slightly paler at the edges.  Medium length nose had a slight dip in profile with a pink nose leather while her cheeks were full and rounded.  Firm chin shape that tapered nicely and balanced the upper part of the face and she had a good level bite. Body shape was well grown, muscular and solid and had legs that had thick set paws and were of medium height. The tail was bushy and was of medium length and her coat was not very full but was soft and silky and was a clear off white shade.  The points were a mid cream shade with the mask almost covering the face and matching the ears but was paler on the other points. She had clean white gloves that were very hard to distinguish against the pale fur on the forepaws. Although they were level and matching on the undersides. The socks were level and covered the feet well and the gauntlets were symmetrical, matching and tapered well to along two thirds of the distance towards the hocks. A girl with a pleasing sweet nature.

1 Longley’s LONGCOON CARRIE

A tortie classic tabby maine coon kitten aged five months with good type developing in a young female kitten. Head shape was of medium length and with a well developed square muzzle already present in such a young female kitten and showing clear tabby spotting. The nose was of uniform width and had a shallow curve at the nasal bridge with a pink nose leather edged with black and in a perpendicular line with the upper lip and the chin which was firm. Her cheeks were fairly full with high cheek bones and a level bite. The ears were tall, pointed and had good ear tufts with lighter short ear feathers and were wide at the base, set high and well apart. Fully round eyes had yellowish green eye colour and were circled with paler spectacles and spaced far apart with a slightly oblique setting and a pleasing alert expression. The body  was well grown for a five month female kitten and was solid and well muscled with a long neck, broad  chest and was a good rectangular length, ending in a squared off rump. Strong legs with large rounded and tufted paws supported the body weight. The tail had plenty of length and was profuse and flowing, wide at the base and tapered towards the tip. Her coat was glossy and fairly long over the body but much shorter on the head and neck. The tummy and breeches were fairly full and shaggy and a frontal ruff was starting to develop. The coat pattern was showing tortie and tabby colours of black over a warm copper agouti ground colour overlaid with shades of red and was clear on the head where she had red on one side of the face and black on the other. All four paws were broken and she had one mainly red foot. Tortie and classic tabby patterns  were very clear on her back. A promising girl with a very gentle temperament.

2 Thomas’s SISKADELL DASHING DANDY

A black and white male Norwegian forest cat who was only three months old but with good Norwegian type.  He was a well grown kitten with a well shaped triangular head and an excellent profile that was very straight without a break in line. Pleasing profile line with rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and medium depth, level chin. Large and well open eyes set wide apart, green in colour with eyelids outlined in black.  Good size and weight to compact body with a short level back, low on legs and with a full, rounded chest. Lovely balanced girl with short, proportionate legs and firm, rounded paws.  Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip.  Coat a trifle long but with excellent density and a crisp texture.  Golden Tipped of golden apricot ground colour with nice and even black tipping. Tipping part way down legs and gradually fading towards paws. Very faint tabby markings on flanks.

Rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and good depth chin. Large and well open orange coloured eyes set wide apart.  Short neck to cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a full, deep chest. 2 McCOLL’S PR TOPMARX SIR LANCELOT  17  MN  12.6.07
Very good size and weight to this nearly two year old boy with good muscle tone. Head seemed slightly small in proportion to his body at the moment.  Round face and full cheeks with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, medium in size and rounded at tips. Good profile line with rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and medium depth, level chin. Golden colour to fairly large and well open eyes set wide apart. For perfection I would prefer them just slightly larger. Short neck to cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a broad, deep chest. Short, well boned legs and large, rounded paws.  Slightly long tail but thicker at base and rounded at tip.  Coat a bit long and needs to develop more density but with a fairly crisp texture.  Even, cool toned cream which fades slightly to roots.  Faint tabby markings on body, necklaces and rings on tail.  Nice natured fellow.

USUAL ABYSSINIAN ADULT
1 CC & BOB PONTELLO’S PONTABY ENRICO  23  M  28.8.08
Confident young male just nine months of age and still maturing. Gently rounded contours to head and gently rounded from top of head to brow. I would like to see him develop a little more breadth to gently rounded top of head between the ears.  Moderate wedge tapers to a slightly rounded muzzle, formed by a slight indentation. Good in profile with slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and firm, level chin. Large, well cupped ears, pricked and with furry inner edges, no tufts at tips, set wide apart. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Large, expressive, hazel coloured eyes set well apart, full almond shape and oriental in set. Lithe and muscular, medium build and size to body, deceptively weighty, straight back and rounded rib cage.  Long slender legs in proportion to body and small oval feet. Tail, thick at base, tapering gently to tip and of good length to balance body. Excellent coat is short, fine, dense in texture and close lying.  Usual Abyssinian with ruddy orange base colour and lovely black  ticking showing distinct bands of colour. Good facial markings with black pigmentation lines from eye to top of head and, pencil lines on cheeks. Pale hair around eyes and dark edge to eyelid.  Ruddy orange ears with darker tone at tips. Cream chin and lips. Black  ticking colour extending down spine and tail to a black tip and black half way up the hocks. Faint broken necklace.  Lovely temperament.
ASIAN TIFFANIE FEMALE NEUTER
1 PC & BOB GABB’S CH RUSHBROOKE KAHLUA OVER ICE  68  FN  5.12.07
Elegant seventeen month old girl, deceptively weighty. Medium length and build to body with good muscle tone. Well rounded chest and straight back. Slender, proportionate legs and neat oval paws. Very good length and shape to slightly tapering tail with a good tip, good length to fur giving a nice plume effect.  Coat is fine and close lying with a good texture and of fairly good length but showing seasonal changes and needs more length down sides.  Black Tiffanie of even black colour which has a rusty tinge at roots.  Wedge is wide at cheek bones and has a blunt muzzle.  Good width to slightly rounded top of head between well set and shaped, medium sized ears.  In profile slight rounding to brow, fairly good nose break but nose a bit long although straight.  Level bite but slightly shallow chin.  Yellow eyes of good size and shape and set well apart.  Sweet natured.
OCICAT FEMALE NEUTER
1 PC & BOB NcRAE’S BALLEGO FOREVERINBLUE GENES  73a  FN  2.9.06
Two and a half year old lady who was enjoying herself. Modified wedge, longer than wide with slight curve from muzzle to cheek.  Profile shows gentle rise from bridge of nose to brow, only a hint of a minimal dip at eye line, straight line to tip.  Broad, well defined muzzle and moderate whisker pinch.  Level bite and fair depth chin.  Moderately large ears, wide at base and set well apart and gently rounded at tufted tips. She tended to hold them slightly upright but the angle looked better when she relaxed.  Large eyes almond in shape and set angled slightly upwards to the outer ear, yellow in colour. Medium to large, solid body with good muscle tone.  Deep, broad chest and straight back.  Substantial bone.  Medium length, proportionately strong legs and oval compact paws.  Fairly long tail to balance body, broad at base and slightly tapering to tip.  Short coat of good texture, close lying and with a sheen to it. Blue Ocicat with blue pattern against a paler ground colour with mushroomy overtones. Pattern better defined on left hand side. Clear facial markings. Lovely temperament.

Mid length even wedge head, her ears large, well set and with good width at the base. Good strong profile, chin needs a little more depth but it does line up. Acceptable scissor bite. Clear green eyes of good oriental shape and set. Well toned medium length body, lovely feel to her. Slim legs, dainty feet. Tapered tail. Short mid blue coat, sound, even in tone and beautifully prepared. She was beautifully presented and is a very attractive girl in her own right but, for me, not quite an Imperial.

AV ORIENTAL GRAND PREMIER MALE
GR PR, HALLIDAY’S PR TOHGAR MIDNITE MAJIK. (37) 18.10.07. Oriental Black. A very tall and handsome black panther with that elusive ‘wicked’ expression only the best black cats have! Eyes of very good oriental shape and set – very expressive with good depth of green. Very long and strong muscular body, stands up tall on long strong legs with a long fine balancing whip tail. ORIENTAL BLACK ADULT FEMALE
CC & BOB, HELM’S FLOWERDEW MAGIQUE NOIRE. 19.1.08. Lovely young lady – very ‘together’. Short even wedge head with large well set ears. Near straight profile with a firm chin and level bite, although she has already lost a few incisors. Pale green oval eyes held a touch full, better when relaxed in her pen. Good length well toned body, nice and firm to the feel. Long legs with oval paws. Tail needs an extra inch and is a touch thick, but it does taper. Short sleek and shining jet black coat, sound to the roots. Presentation and temperament both excellent.

ORIENTAL RED ADULT FEMALE
CC & BOB, MOORE’S KINKAJEWSDEN ALLANAH. 27.5.08. Lovely overall balance to this very attractive young queen. Long strong wedge head, her ears large wide based and very well set. Near straight profile, just a tiny bump on her nose, firm chin, level bite. Oriental eye shape and set with mid green colour – nicely expressive. Stands beautifully, tall and elegant with a long well toned body, graceful neckline, long slender legs and long whip tail. Rich bright red coat, short, sound and close lying with some tabby markings evident. Lovely temperament – excellent presentation.

ORIENTAL TORTIE ADULT

ORIENTAL CREAM OR APRICOT ADULT MALE
CC & BOB, ATKINSON’S WESTGARTH STORMCAT. (37fn) 8.5.08. Apricot. Well grown youngster, strong and handsome, already with a masculine appearance. Long strong wedge head, his ears large, wide at the base, well set and flared. Straight profile, chin needs a touch more depth, bite level. Oriental shape and set to mid green olive toned eyes – lovely expression. Long strong body and neckline, lovely hard muscular feel to him. Long strong legs. Long whip tail. Short, close lying, softly dusted apricot coat, sound to the roots with just a few ghost tabby markings evident on his flanks. Beautifully presented – gentle boy.

ORIENTAL SMOKE ADULT MALE
CC w/h, 1 GIBBON’S SAITAN SULIANINSHADES. (42b) 28.4.08. Chocolate Smoke. Shy but sweet tempered youngster, very immature at present and needing to gain in masculinity. Mid length wedge head with just a tiny pinch. Ears large and set well. Straight profile, chin needs more depth but does line up, level bite. Clear green oval eyes. Long body, firm but not yet the real hard feel of a mature male. Long slender legs, long tail. Slightly long chocolate smoke coat showing a few ghost tabby markings on his flanks. The clear near white undercoat extends to approximately half the hair length but was ‘showing through’ in places on his body, and there is rather too much evidence of silver on his mask at the moment giving the appearance of tabby markings. Excellent presentation..

ORIENTAL CREAM OR APRICOT NEUTER MALE
Judged for BOB only, BOB HINCHCLIFFE’S GR PR JADEVYN PHARAOH. (37fn) 12.9.03. Apricot. A very stylish and imposing lad going on for 6 years. Strong wedge head with large wide based ears, very well set and flared. Strong profile with a deep firm chin. His teeth untidy with some missing, but the bite looked good enough. Olive green eyes, very expressive and of excellent oriental shape and set. Long well nourished muscular body with long strong legs. His tail needs a little more length to perfectly balance such a long body. Short sound coat, free of pattern and of super hot sandy tone. Presentation excellent – he appeared to have a few things to grumble about, but was no trouble to handle.

Her ears large, wide based, well set and flared. Developing profile, not quite straight as yet. Firm chin, level bite. Expressive vivid blue oriental eyes. Long slender body with long spidery legs and a long fine whip tail. Points just on the limit of acceptability on the day for me, but sadly I think it will become too dark as she grows up. Clear ivory body - short, close lying coat. Presentation and temperament both excellent.

1 & BOB, HELM’S TILDEN TINTOFCIN. 30.1.09. What a lovely little babe. Short strong wedge head with large wide based and very well set ears. Lovely strong profile with a firm chin. AV NON MEMBERS ADULT FEMALE
This was a very strong and well supported class, for which I thank the exhibitors. Superb coat for length and texture with lovely clear treble ticking over her back, one broken necklace, clear leg bars and tail rings. White inverted V on her face with a little white tip to her right ear. Mrs B Prowse

Thank you for my invitation to judge. I had a very nice day in the company of Peter Kilmartin who as always was an attentive steward and a great help on a busy day. Thanks Peter hope we repeat soon.

AOV SLH CHAMPION FEMALE

GR CC MRS A WAITE’S CH NITERAP KINGA (64 31ts) F 18/6/05 – Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon of excellent shape and size. She has fantastic boning for a female and has lovely type. Head medium in length with large tall ears that are set wide at the base and well apart. Green eyes that are full and round. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Level bite. Square muzzle, firm chin. Well prepared coat showing well defined classic tabby markings on a silver agouti ground. She has a small amount of tarnishing on her face which does not detract from the overall picture. Tail well ringed and at least the length of her back.

2ND RES GR W/H MRS L CALVERT’S CH PURDYSTON MISS ELAINIUS (64 31s) F 10/1/07 – Black Smoke and White Maine Coon. Body is long but she is rather underweight at the moment. Head a little small in proportion to body and needs to be much stronger. Ears are a good size, well tufted and spaced nicely apart. Full round eyes, spaced well apart with a slight oblique aperture. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Muzzle could be a little squarer for perfection. Level bite.  Coat is a good length and shows good contrasts although the black is a little rusty in colour in places. Tail is a good length and easily reaches the shoulders.

AOV SLH PREMIER FEMALE

Two very, very nice Ragdoll’s. A pleasure to judge them.

GR PC MRS A BRADLEY’S PR VONVARDA KA CHINA (66 31a) FN 10/5/07 – Blue Bi Colour Ragdoll. She has blossomed since I last saw her and she has a lovely sweet expression. Broad head with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, set wide apart and slightly tilted forward. Large medium blue eyes which are set slightly oblique. Nose is medium in length and she has a slight dip with a retrousse tip. Level bite. Full cheeks with rounded muzzle. Points colour are a bluish grey. Back is bluish grey with small patches of white. Balanced inverted V on her face. Bib chest and underparts are white. Front legs totally white and back legs white to the level of the underbody. Long and bushy tail. She is easily within the standard for amount of white allowed.

RES GR PC MR & MRS SPROT’S UK & IGR CH & GR PR CHURSTON CAMEO (66 31) FN 28/3/2000 – Seal Bi Colour Ragdoll. I would have liked a little more length to her body for perfection but head, body and tail do balance. She stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Head is broad with a flat plane. Ears are medium in size and set wide apart. Eyes are well opened and deep blue in colour but would have liked them a size larger. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks are almost full with a lovely rounded muzzle. Coat well prepared and silken in texture. Dense seal points which are matching. Mask has an inverted ‘V’ of white which is almost symmetrical and has what looks like a teardrop of seal just below her left eye. Bib, chest and underparts white, she also has a white collar. Back and sides of the body are beige. Front legs are white although colour does extend slightly onto her left front leg. The back legs are white up to the level of the hocks. Her white is easily within the standard. Tail long and bushy, slightly tapered towards the tip and reaches the shoulder.

2ND MS A SAYE’S CEDARMADHATTER ROSE OFESAYA (13c2) F 12/5/08 – Blue Point Birman of good size and shape but feel she may have been calling as she lacks a little weight. Skull strong, broad and rounded with medium sized ears, which are spaced well apart. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks needing to fill at the moment. Level bite. Chin recedes a little. Coat well prepared and silken in texture. Mask, ears, legs and tail are a rather dark shade of blue and well defined. Gloves are scalloped and only just covering the toes. Socks are pure white and short in length.  Gauntlets tapering up the back of the leg. Bushy tail which is a little short in length.

He is absolutely gorgeous and I just love his type and his little hot water bottle body although on that day it was the last thing we needed as it was so hot.

2ND MRS E ROBERTSON’S ASHJOLEX COCOAKISSES (37h) F 190/08 – Choc Tortie Oriental who had an awful lot to say about herself and we kept losing count on the number of legs she had. We did decide that she had the requisite four. A lovely young lady who was well grown and had very nice type.

CLASS NO 436 BLUE ABYSSINIAN FEMALE ADULT
FOR BEST OF BREED
BOB NO 148 Horner’s CH ELBERETH MY THEODOSIA (23c) F 11.02.07 - A very
attractive girl with nice medium length wedge shaped head, of good width, and with a
nice indentation to the cheeks. The profile is just broken adequately. The ears are
well set and could be a little bit larger. She has shapely open almond shaped eyes with
nicely black pigmented rims, She has a firm chin and level bite. She has a medium
graceful neck and the body is nicely rounded, of medium length, and not extreme, and
the tail is correctly thick at the base and tapers. This cat has very nice colour on her
tummy, being a warm oatmeal to mushroom colour, but this unfortunately does not
match with the undercoat on her back which has a slight yellowy colour to a rather too
silver tone. She is free of bars, but has quite a marked but very faint necklace. Her
ticking is fairly well defined in a nice pale blue colour, but the lack of colour in the
ground colour on her back is really rather disturbing.

CLASS NO 525 BLUE ABYSSINIAN NEUTER
1st PC  & BOB Not Awarded NO 166 Kelsalis GR PR ABYGLEN ASTARLET (23c)
FN 26.01.01 - This girl has a head which is very unbalanced, and although she is free
now of all front teeth, I feel that she is undershot. She has a very broad firm chin and
muzzle, the lack of teeth makes her face rather flat. She has a fair profile break, eyes
that are of good size and expression, however the ears are small and sat on what is
rather a flat brow, and they lack uprightness; she has a short neck. The barrel to the
chest is nicely rounded, but she lacks in width across her haunches. She has well
boned legs and the correct style of tail. Again we have nice colour on the coat on the
abdomen and the legs but the undercoat on the back is a very pale creamish silver in
tone, verging more to a pure silver, and her ticking is rather sparse and sporadic and
we have quite a dark fairly solid blue spine line. She is now at eight and a half year
old lacking style.

CLASS NO 862a AV NOT BRED BY EXHIBITOR FEMALE
1st NO 171 Boardman’s GR CH NICANORY DAISY MAY (27) F 21.05.04 - A brown
Burmese with nicely rounded crown, a muzzle of good width and gentle roundness,
and a firm chin and level bite. The cheeks are gently rounded, allowing for width
between shapely yellow eyes which are gently sloped towards the ear. The neck is
muscular and short, the body muscular, rounded , and of medium proportions and of
good weight. The legs are finely boned and elegant, the feet are neat and over and the
tail is thin and of medium length. The coat is a lovely warm seal brown, short, fine
and sleek.
2nd  NO 121 Kidds CH MAKEWAYFOR KRESTAAMELIA (30s) F 03.10.05 -A
silver Spotted with a very pretty round head of good size and proportion, with nicely
rounded crown and cheeks. This is complemented by a shapely muzzle of good width
and a deep chin with level bite. The eyes have expression being round and open, but
are slightly too yellowish hazel in tone today. She has strong bone structure and is a
good size, short coupled, cobby and muscular. The legs are short and the toes nicely
rounded. The coat has a ground colour that is a pleasing pale silver with black
spotting, but there could be a little bit more intensity to the contrast as today she
appears to have a generalised slightly bleached fawn tone to the coat The spots are
well defined and there is very little evidence of any linkage except on the lower right
hand side of her back. The M is distinct, she has clear cheek lines and the necklets are
broken. The coat is very pleasing short, dense and crisp
3rd  NO 113 Bensons GR CH SARGENTA SILVER WILLOW (18) F 04.04.05 A
heavy muscular mature girl who is quite weighty. She is short coupled, with a broad
deep chest, thick legs, her body is really short and the tail really very short. The head
is round with width between wide set eyes which lack a little bit in roundness, and
again today they appear to be a rather yellowish hazel tone unfortunately. The ears
are neat and wide set across a broad brow. The cheeks are full, the muzzle rounded
and the chin is firm. The necklets are complete and tabby leg bars are distinct. She
lacks complete rings on the tail. The spine lines are well separated, oyster and
butterfly well defined. The coat is a medium length but is lying flat and lacking
undercoat and density. It is a rather dull silver brown colour but has a dense black
pattern, today however the coat appears rather shaggy and lacking in texture.

CLASS NO 862b AV NOT BRED BY EXHIBITOR. FEMALE
1st  NO 173 Boardmans CH ARTRO LILAC MOONSTONE (27c)F 21.08.04 - A
Lilac Burmese who is a very pretty warm pale lilac colour, but is unsound in the coat.
The coat itself  is short, sleek and close lying with a slight masking showing in a
slightly deeper blue shade. The head is round in contour, rounded on the crown and
brow, and the muzzle is firm with good depth to the chin. I would like a little bit
more filling to her cheeks. She has a gentle profile break and a short nose. She is
elegant yet is solid with a nicely rounded barrel to her body, which is of medium
length, the tail is of medium length and tapers. The legs are firm and elegant.
2nd  NO 187 Brashs RIVANESS MIZ-BELLE (35) F 25.08.08 - A stylish Oriental
White who has a narrow wedge shaped head which is slightly thin and bony at present
but leads down to a firm chin. Her profile is fairly straight. The ears are a good size
and follow the line of the wedge. She has excellent deep blue shapely eyes. She is just
adult and has quite a bit of maturing and growing to do but she is fine and balanced
from her head down to the tip of her tail, being lean and fairly muscular, she stands
tall on the table. Her tail is a little bit small but overall she has good balance.
3rd  NO 188 Helms FLOWERDEW M AGIQUE NOIRE (37) F 19.01.08 - Slightly
older, this girl has a slightly wider and well balanced wedge style of head. She has a
nice straight profile, well set ears, and is extremely well balanced with good bone and
muscle. She has shapely green eyes.

CLASS NO 876 AV NOT BRED BY EXHIBITOR KITTEN
1st NO 197 Robertsons ASHJOLEX COCOAKISSES (37h) F 19.10.08 - An Oriental
Chocolate Tortie with beautifully balanced wedge, straight lines to the head, ears
large following the line of the wedge and nicely pricked, She has shapely almond
shaped olive green eyes. She has a fine neck, long lean muscular body and legs. She
has an excellent warm colour to her coat, basically chocolate red and light red. The
pattern is extremely well defined, intermingled and very bright and distinct.
2nd NO 157 Homers NISHALKA KHEPRI (23c) M 26/09/08 - A pretty Blue
Abyssinian with gentle shapely typical Abyssinian style of head. He has shapely
expressive eyes. The profile is well pronounced on a moderately broad nose. The
wedge shape of the head is nicely contoured in itself. He has a solid firm muscular
body developing which is gently rounded in shape and of medium length, the legs are
fine and paws neat and oval. The coat shows oatmeal colour on his tummy which
extends all the way up to his lip and chin. He is free of necklet and barring but
unfortunately the undercoat on his back is very pale and lacking in warmth and
showing almost a silvery colouring. This kitten has a nice blue tone to the coat
generally and the ticking is very well defined throughout and of good quality, shame
about the disparity in colour at the tummy and the undercoat on the back.
3rd NO 159 Bucks MAGICAL SOUPDRAGON (33a40 11) M 08.11.08 - A seal
silver tabby Devon Rex who has a short very well rexed coat. The head shows a nice
flat crown and fairly low set large ears, and the eyes are shapely. He is a solid well
grown muscular kitten. The head however is rather long in the nose but the muzzle is
quite nicely rounded and broad. The rexing on the coat of this kitten is very pleasing.

CLASS NO 883 AV BRITISH BREEDERS MALE
1st NO 135 Prouts FERGAN BOLD BUCCANEER (31a) MN 01.07.08 - A youngster
with a head of excellent size and width on the top. He has a nicely rounded brow, neat
round tipped well set ears, the eyes are open and golden, if a little bit deep set. He has
a short nose with quite a deep profile break, and the nose leads to a firm chin and
level bite. The cheeks are already full and round and he has an excellent short
muscular neck. His body is rounded and short with a broad deep chest, the legs are
sturdy and strongly boned. The coat is pure white with contrasting medium blue
patches which are asymmetrical and well defined with no white invasion into the blue
areas. There is however quite a bit of silver tipping on the blue areas of coat which is
also a little unsound. The coat is short and dense and has good texture for his age.

CLASS NO 948 BRITISH ADULT. KITTEN OR NEUTER
1st  NO 122 Moore’s CH VALPETINA BRIGADOON (31a) M 01.08.06 - A boy with

top of a rounded brow, the ears are set with nicely rounded tips. The cheeks are very
full, the nose is short and leads to a very well rounded muzzle with a firm chin and
level bite. His neck is short and muscular leading to a broad deep chest. The body is
balanced and short coupled: he is generally solid and muscular and of good size. The
legs are well boned with firm round toed feet. The tail is of medium length and has
good weight to it. The body is well patterned with extremely well defined patches of
medium blue against white, the blue is almost sound to the roots of the hair. The coat
itself is short and dense and has good texture.

EXTRA 2nd  NO 136 Griss's UK GR CH & PR CRAIGDHU PROSPECTOR (39) MN

cheeks and round muzzle, with very neat ears. He has a lovely open expression, and
excellent wide set, with still a very good green colour of eye. The body is a moderate
length and very firm and muscular for his age. The tail is of medium length and the
leg bones are strong and the boy has nicely rounded toes, he is generally very well
proportioned.. The coat is finely and evenly tipped with the black intensifying a little
bit towards the spine, which appears slightly darker, however the tipping is generally
very even and the ground colour on the undercoat is a clear silver throughout. The
coat is dense and has crispness, but is a little bit long. The boy could hold his own
with any of the modern versions.
3rd  NO 117 Griss's CH GRISELIAN DROPDEADGORGEOUS (30) F 16.10.06
Quite a sizeable female with a lovely short dense coat. This brown Spotted has a well
rounded head with open expression, but the head itself could be larger. She has
widely set small neat ears, full cheeks and a round muzzle below a short nose which
has very nice brick nose leather. The bite is level. The neck and body are short and
proportionate. She has well rounded toes on firm muscular well boned legs. She has
very complete tail rings and the pattern on her legs and head is distinct. The spotting
is well defined in black with small spots. The spine lines are spotted and separated.
The pattern is set against a tawny brown colour with quite a lot of dull roots in the
hair and she lacks a little bit in richness of colour. There is a little bit of linkage in the
spots, particularly on the right hand side of the chest. The coat itself is short and
dense and has resilience and texture.

pretty cinnamon tortie Oriental with dense sleek fine richly coloured glowing coat in a
mid cinnamon tone, with well defined tortie pattern in pale and dark red. The head is
extremely well balanced with straight lateral lines and a profile that leads to a firm

neck is elegant, the body long and fine. The tail is slightly short ideally, but the legs
are elegant fine and well bone, with well boned toes. A very impressive exhibit.

large ears, eyes which are shapely almond and slanting towards the ears. The nose is
short but could have a slightly more pronounced stop. The chin is fairly broad,

Class 860 AC Burmese Breeder’s Female
1st Miss Herrignton’s SUGARBOWL MY DELILAH (27h) F
Lovely broad head for one so young. Medium large eyes with a pleasing expression of muddy
golden yellow with an inner chartreuse rim, the upper lids were a little horizontal today and the
lower lids could be a little fuller, they are set well apart in her lovely broad head. Face on she
has a short wide wedge which tapers well to a nice blunt muzzle with an essentially level bite ,
she has gentle rounding and her ears are set very well for one so young, they are nicely shaped
a fraction large for some but her head can take them and they do form a pleasing contour to her
head. In profile she has deep skull, pleasing rounded brow, a fair break that I would see a little
more definition to; lets hope she is still developing, her nose line is straight and her jaw could
be a little deeper for perfection and is set back a fraction. Her body has good muscle tone and
substance to it and is quite large for her age but very elegant, having a strong chest and a
straight back, she has slender limbs in keeping with her body they have the correct stance;
taller hind legs, and they have neat oval paws. Her tail just balanced and tapered nicely from
medium thick base to a charming paint brush end. Her coat is a rather soft but lies very closely
to her body and has warm milky chocolate tone being mingled well with shades of red. She was
shown in excellent condition but was a little grizzly with us today and when upset tends to throw
some of her lovely attributes out such as pinching her muzzle and narrowing her eyes; however
when relaxed she is delightful to view.
2nd Mrs Andrew’s ISAJEN MISSMARBLES (27e) F
What an amazing little character, I could have wasted hours playing with her! Her eyes were a
little watery today and the left eye particularly so and hence I felt she was not able to show us
her eyes to their fullest size; they did have a wonderful slant to her upper lids though, I was
very much taken with the shape of her eyes although the lower lids need to be much fuller, they
are set well but her head is still rather immature and let’s hope once she reaches full maturity it
will be broader as they could benefit from being further apart. Face on she has a short wide
wedge which tapers well to a blunt muzzle and she has an essentially level bite she has very
gentle rounding to the top of her head and her ears will be better set once her head broadens
out in maturity, they appear a little too on top of her head at present though they are well
shaped but a little big for her head right now; this of course upsets the balance a little to the
contour of her head today. She has very good depth to her skull in profile, gently rounded brow,
good definition to her nose break, a straight nose line and a jaw of good depth if set slightly
back at present it still gave her chin good depth when viewed face on, however all in all a
promising profile. Her medium sized body is growing well, she has a round chest and a straight
lower back; her limbs are nicely proportioned, dainty and elegant having oval paws and correct
stance. Her tail just balances, is a little thick and has a rounded end, the end of her tail has a
slightly tensile feel to it. Her coat was quite short and had a silky feel, she has a warm brown
tone which is mingled well with various shades of red. She was shown in super condition and
handled very well.
Class 865 AV Novice Male or Female
1st Mrs Storey’ COUNTRYSTYLE SILVERMAXIMUS (18) M
Large well grown British Lad. Solid well rounded head, quite a short wedge, small ears, large
golden eyes that might be called Hazel (inner green rims), chin or reasonable depth and
balanced. A large, heavy boned and well grown boy, tail that was really very short. His coat was
a trifle long and soft at present but I suspect he has not had a full moult yet. His patter was well
defined, oysters to flanks and butterfly wings across shoulders well clearly defined, as well
stripes down his back, along his legs and rings to his tail. Shown in excellent condition and
handled very well.
2nd Mr Brash’s RIVANESS MIZ_BELLE (35) F
Sweet if shy Foreign White girl who is not long adult. A little nervous and tending not to show
herself off to her best, but the longer we have her out the more she settled down. She initially
tended to round her eyes but eventually they settle showing the desirable shape, a slightly light
but beautiful blue in colour. Her wedge and head was rather moderate but she is still rather
young and developing, her ears could do with being slightly lower which will hopefully come with
time. Her body fell solid and much heavier that it looked, her coat was immaculately prepared
being absolutely pristine white in colour and clung to her body like it had been glued into place –
it might have be a touch longer than desirable. A gentle girl who handled very well despite her
own misgivings about come out from under her blankets.
3rd Mrs Murrish’s DOUBLOON LEONORA (16) F
(Another youngster who’s very soft coat and immature face let her down in this class, but she
still has plenty of time to develop. A sweet heart who handled well.)
Class 889 AC Burmese Breeder’s Male Neuter (1 entered)
1st Mrs Akehurst’s CHIARO LATTICELLO (27f) MN
A sweet lad who is rather well fed – as my granny always said to me, “it’s pleasure to see a boy
who enjoys his food!” He has large and lustrous pale yellow-chartreuse eyes, his upper lids are
well slanted but give a slightly hooded look but he has super fullness to his lower lids, they are
set well apart. Face on he has a wide wedge which is a fraction long, it tapers to a blunt muzzle
and has a level bite, he has a gently rounded top of head and his ears are set well giving a
pleasing contour to his head; they are shaped well being wide in the base and having rounded
tips, but could be a fraction larger for my taste. His skull has good depth in profile, a rounded
brow, well defined nose break, his slightly longer nose line is straight, though his jaw requires
greater depth and is set back slightly. His large body is rather over weight which leaves him a
little inelegant, he has as strong chest and a straight back, neat limbs that have charming spoon
shaped paws and correct stance. His tail was too short to balance but tapered nicely to a paint
brush finish from a medium thick base. His short coat lies close to his body and was generally
very good in texture apart from a slightly harsh texture along his tail, it was a rather intense
shade of cream and there was very little powering evident today. A very sweet and gentle giant
who handled very well – knowing how hard it is to loose those extra pounds of indulgence piled
on during the course of many a pleasurable meal; I won’t state the obvious.
