Dr B Bennett

My thanks to Isobel and the Committee for the invitation to this happy Show on the banks of the Forth. Roz McKnight was my steward. I had a most enjoyable day in her company and look forward to the next time we can work together.
AC ORIENTAL CHAMPION FEMALE.
1. GR CC LINTON’S SHADOWSQUAD STARDUST. F. (37k). 3yrs 9mths.  Very elegant lady with a long wedge, terrific topline comprising broadly spaced, large, widely flaring ears, eyes of oriental shape and tilt, olive green, gently angled profile, pleasing depth of muzzle, chin lining up and level bite. There was a hint of asymmetry today at the maxillary (cheekbone) level, the right seeming just a little more prominent than the left, definitely not present on our previous encounters; the veterinarian agreed with the observation but could detect  no sign of illness, so we agreed that it was probably due to some temporary phenomenon and I learned later that she had sustained a minor injury recently. Body firm and mature now, slender limbs, neat paws, balancing tail. Close lying coat of deep blue, well mingled with cream shades.2. Res Gr CC.HAMILTON’S ADVESH WISTFUL WILLOW. F. (37g) 2yrs 4mths. Pleasing lady of good overall type with a tendency to puff her whisker pads slightly making her  medium length wedge appear slightly squared off. Broad top, ears well placed and flared, oriental eyes of light green. Profile fairly straight, just the hint of a dish between brow and nose, chin lines up, formidably sharp little incisors  that are level. Nicely balanced firm body and limbs, tail matching. Coat condition excellent, smooth and svelte, pleasing soft cinnamon shade and largely sound.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE CHAMPION MALE.
1 GR CC. SHAND’S GR CH ANDALYN AMADEUS . M. (24) 3yrs 1mth.  Elegant gent of medium size, seeming just a little out of sorts today. Aristocratic wedge head with a lovely top, excellent large flared ears well spaced, oriental eyes well inclined blue good though the hall light did no favours to any blue eyes. Very good straight profile, pleasing depth to his muzzle, wandering incisors that are basically level. Body of mid size, as always I would like just a little more substance, balancing limbs and tail. Dense seal points with sufficient contrast to the body that seemed  a touch warmer in tone than I recalled..2. RES GR CC ROBB’S CH RIVANESS BERTIE WOOSTER. M. (24n).  1yr 4mths. Engaging large chap with a hint of naughtiness and inclined to munch. Medium wedge head, large ears well placed and flared upon it without quite the elegance of the winners’, eyes of good shape, marginally open and I thought the blue could be deeper, but because of the hall’s light discounted the thought and gave him the benefit. Profile almost straight, chin slopes just a little, bite meets. Very good large body and limbs, balancing tail. Coat texture good,  short and close, points a deep blue based shade, paw pads showing the requisite purplish warmth, body quite shaded for one so young in matching tones.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE CHAMPION FEMALE.
1. GR CC. MASON’S CH GENETTA ISLAY MIST.F. (24c) 1yr 8mths. Medium sized girl of very correct type without any exaggeration, pleasingly even, equilateral wedge head, ears  flared  precisely in line, might be just a tad larger for preference,  but quite acceptable,  eyes of very good shape and incline, blue as good as the light would allow. Neat firm body and limbs, tail in keeping.  Well matched light lilac points with some warmth, simply stunning contrast to the totally clear unshaded magnolia body, quite remarkable. 2. RES GR CC. SHAND’S CH PALMIRA SULAWEISI. F. (24b) 1yr 5mths. Lady with considerably more flash initially with a most stylish top, lovely large ears, well spaced and flared to flatter her wedge that shows a slight pinch to a fine muzzle. Her eyes are quite straight and deep set, blue seemed good. The profile is virtually straight with just a hint of the forehead depression of her childhood just there. Elegant body and limbs, tail in keeping, the little terminal twist as ever. Mid chocolate points, contrasting to slightly shaded body.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER MALE.
1. GR PC. MATHER’S GR PR STATIONARY SCARLETSHADOW. MN. (32a) 4yrs 2wks. An old friend, super large male neuter with an excellent type and temperament to match. Very even mid length wedge, ears of size following its lines out, almond shaped inclined oriental eyes of good blue, profile smoothly arched, chin lines up, bite just meets. Long mature body, matching limbs and tail. Coat shows matching clear light red points, excellent contrast to clear, warm white body. Rather a star.
AC SIAMESE/BLAINESE PREMIER FEMALE.
1 GR PC LINTON’S Imp GR CH & PR FIORDILISO APRIL SHOWERS. F. (32b7) 5yrs 4mths. Rather a diva with a sophisticated line in curses. Mature girl of very good type, very good even wedge, excellent ears for size and set, very good oriental shape and incline to her blue eyes. Profile arching, firm chin, bite appeared level. Long mature body with limbs and tail proportionate. Close lying smooth coat, showing light cinnamon points, well broken by pale shades. Armed neutrality. 2. RES GR PC. SPENCE’S PR SCOTMAR SIMPLY MAGIC. FN. (24) 1yr 10 mths. Another lovely girl, long and elegant,  even, equilateral wedge, with large ears placed and flared to flatter, good oriental blue eyes. Profile virtually straight, chin recedes just a little, bite level. Long body, slender limbs, tail balances. Dense seal points, body rather darkly shaded, reducing contrast somewhat.
ORIENTAL SHADED ADULT.
1. CC. BoB. TOSUN’S SAITAN MISS TEASE. F. (43b) 1yr 3mths. Dainty little lass, somewhat apprehensive. Neat, equilateral wedge head, ears of balancing size, nicely set, oriental eyes of good light green. Very good straight profile, chin could be just a little deeper, excellent even bite. Slender little body, limbs and tail in keeping. Requisite usual under coat about half way up hair shafts on the flanks, shorter elsewhere, leading to mid chocolate tipping, followed by a tiny terminal paler section, giving an impression of gold dusting; no banding otherwise. Good texture, typical patterning on mask, limbs and tail.
SEAL POINT SIAMESE NEUTER.
1. PC. BoB. SPENCE’S PR SCOTMAR SIMPLY MAGIC. FN. (24) 1yr 10 mths.
BLUE POINT NEUTER.
1. PC. BoB. SPENCE’S GR PR SCOTMAR CLASSIE LASSIE. FN. (24a) 2yrs 3mths.Lovely little lady of good balanced type. Equilateral wedge on which ears that might be a tad larger are very well set in line, very good oriental eyes of excellent blue. Profile just smoothly convex, good firm chin, excellent level bite. Firm, tubular body, limbs dainty, tail balancing. Coat short, showing well matching soft, mid blue points, with very good contrast to the cool body that shows just a little matching shading.
RED POINT NEUTER.
BoB. MATHER’S GR PR STATIONARY SCARLETSHADOW. N. (32a) 4yrs 2wks.

Strapping male with a shorter even wedge head, ears quite nicely set but need to be larger, eyes of good shape, blue could be deeper but see comments about hall light. Profile shows a tiny dent at the brow, otherwise straight. Good chin and bite. Large strong body with proportionate limbs and tail. Coat healthy, points a mid lilac, body rather muddy toned.

1. LINTON’S GR CH SHADOWSQUAD STARDUST. F. (37g) 2yrs 4mths.  2. BRASH’S RIVANESS MIZ BELLE. F. (35) 10mths 3wks. Pretty lady with an even equilateral wedge, on which ears are set well, would prefer them just a little larger. Yes oriental and of dazzling deep blue. Profile virtually straight, chin and bite level. Strong little body and limbs, matching tail. Excellent smooth textured, clear white coat. 3. HULL’S MAZPAHS CHANA BLACK. F. (37) 1yr 4mths. Many thanks to Isobel, Denise and the club for the show invitation.
I enjoyed my day very much in the company of Andrew Lindsay who is a most knowledgeable and excellent steward and I thank him for his help on a busy day where I know he had other show duties.  We had a busy and jolly time lifting many large maine coon cats and kittens and developing our biceps! Many thanks Andrew. I had some lovely maine coon kittens in my open classes and am grateful to their owner/exhibitors for the chance to admire them.

Exotic SH Self Kitten

1 and BOB Campbell’s DEDANNAN CHASING RAINBOWS

A well grown eight month old black exotic boy that I met as a kitten and who has been developing well since then. He is a large cobby boy with a broad chest, thick neck and well rounded rump set on short thick well muscled legs which had fat rounded paws. Very pleasing head type which was round and with good width having very neat ears, set wide apart. Fat cheeks and a rounded forehead with a very short nose of even width that had a strong nose break, full black nose leather and good size nasal openings. The eyes were large and bold and still had muddy eye colour which promises to be a rich copper colour when fully developed. The chin was well developed and firm and balanced the upper part of the face well and the muzzle was broad with a scissor bite. The coat was of medium length, very dense and thick and felt very plush, standing out well from the body. It was a very sound black, sleek and shiny and in good condition. A thick short tail that was in balance with the body length completed the picture. A very friendly chap who was happy to be handled and who was well presented.

AOC Exotic SH Non Self Kitten

1 and BOB Hadfield’s SHEERBLISS POCAHONTAS

This red smoke and white kitten had very good type and was a good size for her tender age of four months. Body shape was already cobby, set low on short muscular legs that were thick and had large rounded paws. The head was broad, smooth and had a well rounded forehead. Small round tipped ears were placed far apart on the skull. She had fairly full cheeks and a very short snub nose that was white and had a good stop and a full pink nose leather. She also had a scissor bite, a firm white chin and a white muzzle that was developing well. Her eyes were fully round and large with super deep copper colour already developing and with a lovely bold expression and circled with paler spectacles. Her coat was of medium length and was dense and fairly plush with a soft texture and she had a white bib and underside with all four feet having white socks. The tipping on the coat was a mid shade of red and covered one third of the hair shaft. The undercoat was a pale silvery shade but she had very clear tabby markings on her face, a clear spine line down her back and faint stripes down her sides at present which are sometimes seen in kittens but hopefully will disappear as she matures to an adult.  The tail was short, balanced and fully coloured but also showing some tabby rings at present. Her coat development needs to be watched carefully as she grows to see if these tabby markings disappear as it is possible that she is a red silver tabby and white but only time will tell. However, on the day she was given the benefit of doubt as she is still such a young baby and has much development ahead and lots of time in her favour.

Brown or Blue Tabby (Inc Bi-Colour) Maine Coon Kitten Male

1 and BOB Gregson’s JULESCOON JOE COONZACKI

A very handsome brown tabby and white boy of eight months of age who I discovered I had met and admired before. He has excellent physique, being a very muscular boy with a large, solid well built body that was long and rectangular in shape. His chest was very broad and he had a fairly long neck and a very square rump. The legs were strong and well boned with large rounded paws that had short tufts. The head was of medium length and had tall ears of large size, sitting high on the head, pointed at the tips and had black ear tufts and paler short ear feathering covering a wide ear base. The nose was of uniform width and had a nasal bridge that was equidistant between the earline and nose tip and had a shallow curve when viewed in profile with a full pink nose leather edged with brown. He had a very square muzzle with a fat whisker pads showing tabby spotting. The cheeks were fairly full, the chin was firm and he had a level bite. Beautiful large round eyes with yellowish colour were set slightly obliquely and circled with black eye rims and clear pale spectacles. The tail was very long reaching easily to the shoulders and was well furnished and flowing with slight tapering towards the tip. The coat was glossy and of a good length over the body with shaggy breeches and tummy and he had a frontal ruff developing but the coat was shorter over the head and neck. The lower face and the nose had a white band across the nasal bridge. His bib and a patch on his underside were pure white and all four feet had white socks. I loved his tabby markings that were very distinct and were a dense black overlying a very rich copper agouti ground that was bright and glowing and showing excellent contrast between the black stripes and the rich undercoat. He had very good tabby markings on his head with a clear ‘M’ on the forehead, eye lines, pencilling and headlines. A very good butterfly was visible over the shoulders and he had excellent strong barring on his legs and three solid dense spine lines running down his back. A very promising boy not yet adult and who was my nomination for best in show semi longhair and I was delighted to learn that he went on to win best in show exhibit. Congratulations!

2 Wright’s POWERKATZ HERO

A six month old brown tabby and white boy who was a huge kitten, very heavy and solid, having a muscular body that had a long rectangular shape with a broad chest,  fairly long neck and squared off rump set on well boned legs with large rounded paws. His head was of medium length and had fairly full cheeks with a square muzzle and a firm chin with a level bite. His ears were tall and high set, wide at the base and fairly pointed with black tufts and paler short ear feathers. The nose had the correct profile having a slight curve at the nasal bridge and was of uniform width with a full pink nose leather and a very slight nose bump. The eyes were large and round, spaced well apart with yellowish green eye colour and set slightly oblique in the face. There was an inverted white chevron on the lower part of the face which gave him a white muzzle and chin.  The bib and underside of the body were also a clean white. The feet had white socks which continued to run high up onto the upper legs and had paws with short white tufts. Tabby markings were distinct and consisted of dense black lines over a warm copper agouti base. He had good markings on the head with an ‘M’ on his forehead, eye lines and headlines and three clear unbroken spine lines down his back. The coat had a glossy texture and was of medium length on his body, legs and breeches but was shorter on his head and neck where a frontal ruff was starting to develop. The tail was long and full, flowing and tapering slightly towards the tip. A gentle cat when handled and well shown.

3 Fletcher’s SUVICOON JEDEDIAH

A seven month old brown tabby kitten who was of a good size and weight for his age and who has still some developing to do. Medium length head had ears that were wide open at the base and were tall, pointed and set high on the head with very good long black tufts and paler ear feathers. The nose was of uniform width and had a shallow curve at the nasal bridge that was situated halfway between the earline and nose tip and which had a full pink nose leather edged with brown. Large eyes of almost round shape were set slightly oblique in the face and had yellowish eye colour outlined with black rims and paler spectacles. The muzzle was spotted and could have been more square for perfection and needs to fill out further. The cheeks were fairly full and he had a good bite and a firm chin. Body shape was rectangular and long, with good chest width and his trunk had a square shaped rump. The legs were strong, well muscled and had large round paws with short tufts. Good length of tail, well furnished and tapering which reached the shoulders, having tabby rings on its underside but was a solid black on the upper surface. The coat was glossy and was shorter on his head and neck but increased in length down his back and flanks. The breeches and tummy fur were shaggy. Strong tabby markings were present all over the body and were a dense black over a warm copper agouti ground. Head markings were all present with an ‘M’, headlines, eye lines and pencilling on the cheeks. An excellent clear butterfly was present on his shoulders as well as body stripes and barring on his limbs. A well mannered gentle cat who was happy to be handled.

Brown or Blue Tabby (Inc Bi-Colour) Maine Coon Kitten Female

1 Gregson’s JULESCOON KAPUAI

A brown tabby and white girl of eight months of age who is developing very well and is very promising. A large girl with good bone structure. She had a long rectangular shape with a medium length head and a fairly elegant neck and a square shaped rump. Sturdy well muscled legs had large rounded paws. She had an excellent square muzzle for a female and a good profile which had a shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge which was equidistant between the ear line and the nose tip, with a full pink nose leather. The chin was firm and she had fairly full cheeks with a good level bite. Her ears were large, tall with pointed and well tufted tips,  sitting high on the head and wide at the base with pale ear feathers extending beyond the outer ear edges. The eyes were oblique set and had a rounded shape, greenish yellow colour and were sited far apart in the face which had a pleasing expression. The tail was long and flowing and had faint tabby rings. The coat was long and full on the back and flanks and had a glossy top coat but was a little shorter over the head and neck regions with a frontal ruff starting to fill out. The tabby markings were very good and were a dense black over an agouti ground colour of rich copper. Head markings had a clear ‘M’ on her forehead, eye lines and lines running over the top of head. A very clear butterfly was visible on her shoulders and she had strong tabby lines on her body and excellent markings on her legs. The white areas were very clean on the muzzle, bib and underside of the body. All four feet had white socks with short tufted paws. A sweet natured girl who handled well and was well presented.

Delaney’s COONTIPS PRINCESS LOLA

A very pretty brown tabby girl who is almost now an adult with good type and who has lovely tabby markings. Her head is of medium length and has a correct profile with a nose that has the nasal bridge equidistant between the ear line and nose tip. The nose was of uniform width and had a shallow concave curve and a full pink nose leather edged with brown. She had an excellent square muzzle, with high cheek bones, fairly full cheeks and a firm chin with a level bite. The ears were tall and well set, wide open at the base, sitting high and with pointed tips that were very well tufted with long black tufts and shorter pale ear feathers. Lovely large rounded eyes with yellowish eye colour, rimmed with black, encircled with pale spectacles, spaced well apart and having a slightly oblique setting in the face with a delightful expression. She had a long rectangular body with a square rump, good chest width and a fairly long neck. The legs were well muscled and strong and had large rounded paws that had super well tufted paws. The coat was short over the head and neck but became longer over her back, flanks and tail. The breeches and tummy fur was shaggy with a frontal ruff still to develop. The top coat was glossy and she had very good tabby markings throughout of black over a warm copper agouti ground colour. The head had a strong ‘M’ on the forehead, cheek pencilling and head lines and a well spotted muzzle. There were numerous excellent clear necklaces and bracelets on the limbs. A perfect butterfly was evident on her shoulders and the body had strong spine lines and markings on her flanks. Her tail was long and had flowing fur which tapered gently towards the tip and was showing tabby rings on the underside but was solid black on the upper surface. A promising girl who should do well as an adult and who has a good show temperament.

3 Casey’s SPIRRITZ SANDPIPER

A brown tabby and white girl who was only five months old and at a disadvantage against the older girls in this class as she was still looking a little kittenish and had a lot more developing ahead of her. Nevertheless she had lots of good features which indicate that she is growing and developing along the right lines. Body was well grown for her age, being long and rectangular in shape with a fairly long neck and a square shaped rump on strong well boned legs that had rounded paws of large size and with short tufts. The head was of medium length had tall ears sited high on top, pointed and wide open at the base and with very long black ear tufts and paler ear feathering. She had a spotted and square muzzle which was good to see in a young female kitten and the nose had a shallow curved dip at the nasal bridge and was of uniform width with a good pink nose leather edged with brown. The cheeks were filling out and she had a firm chin and a level bite. Her eyes were full and round with yellowish eye colour and set slightly oblique and showing black rims and pale spectacles. The lower facial region was white and she had a white bib and fully white underside. The tail was of a good length, well furnished and had tabby rings on its underside but was solid on the upper surface tapering gently towards the tip. The coat was long and flowing on her body but shorter on her head and shoulders. A frontal ruff had still to develop and all four feet were white. Tabby markings were clearly evident on the head and body and she had clear head lines and eye lines. The back did not have clear tabby spine lines but was a little solid black but she had clear barring on her legs. A well behaved kitten who was happy to be handled.

Maine Coon Silver Tabby Series Kitten

1 and BOB Wright’s POWERKATZ EVOLUTION

A six month old silver tabby and white kitten who was very large and well grown for his age having a solid build and heavy weight. The body was very long and rectangular with a squared off rump, good width of chest and a fairly long neck set on four strong legs that had large well tufted paws. Head shape was of medium length which had ears that could have been taller and were a little more rounded rather than pointed, open at the base and had silvery ear tufts and paler ear feathers extending beyond the outer ear edge. The eyes had greenish yellow eye colour and were full and round in shape and set slightly oblique in the face and with pale tabby spectacles. Fairly full cheeks with high cheek bones. The profile had a nose of uniform width which had a shallow curved dip at the nasal bridge and with a deep pink nose leather edged with black. The chin was firm and he had a very well developed square muzzle that had good tabby spotting on the whisker pads and the bite was level. The lower part of his face was white and the bib, chest and tummy were also white and had shaggy fur. The tabby markings were black over a silver agouti ground colour and wee very distinct on the head where there was a clear ‘M’ on his forehead, eye lines and lines running over the top of his head.. The back had three unbroken spine lines and there was a well defined butterfly over the shoulders and clear oysters on his flanks. The legs had good barring with many bracelets and all four feet had white socks. The tail was very long reaching well to the shoulders and was full and flowing showing tabby rings and tapering slightly towards the tip. His coat was long and flowing with shaggy breeches and with a frontal ruff developing. A friendly chap who handled well and who was in good condition.

AOC Maine Coon Kitten Male

1 Casey’s NITERAP COONCITYUNITEFORCE

A cream smoke and white boy of four months of age, just a kitten who had a firm body that had proportionate good body length and rectangular shape with a square shaped rump supported on strong legs with well rounded large paws. The head was in proportion to the body and was of medium length with tall ears sited on top that were pointed and open at the base and had short ear tufts and pale ear feathers. The eyes were round and had yellow green eye colour set slightly oblique in the face. His nose had uniform width and the correct shallow curve at the nasal bridge. It was cream coloured with a full pink nose leather. The chin was white and firm and he had a good square muzzle and a level bite. His forehead had a white patch and the top of head was cream. He had a long well furnished tail which had a hint of tabby rings and there were some tabby markings on the head which is not unusual in cream and red kittens of this age but which hopefully will lessen as he matures. The coat was of a good length on his back and flanks and was shorter on the head and neck. A frontal ruff had yet to develop. The bib, underside and legs were white while the back was white in parts with some cream patches. The cream patches had a silvery white undercoat which was visible when he was taken to natural daylight at the window as the hall lights re not kind to cream and red shades and the tipping covered half of the hair shaft. His back however had a single red patch which was far too dark to be thought of as cream so that it is possible that he is not actually a cream smoke and white but possibly a red and it will be necessary to watch the development of his coat in future to make sure. On the day, he was given the benefit of doubt as he is still a very young kitten and has a lot of developing ahead of him.

2 Wright’s POWERKATZ DARTH VADER

A very sleek black and white boy who had a well grown body for a five month old kitten with good length of body which had a very rectangular shape and a square ended rump supported on strong legs which had well rounded paws. The head was of medium length and had a fully black face  with only just a tiny spot of white on the muzzle which could have been a little more square but which had very long white whiskers. The nose was of uniform width with a good profile line having the nasal bridge that was equidistant between the ear line and nose tip and with a shallow concave curve. The cheeks were needing to fill out a little more as he grows although he had high cheek bones and the chin was firm and the bite was level. Tall tufted ears were sitting high on the head and had an open base. The eyes had a slightly oblique setting in the face and were fairly round and had greenish yellow colour. The coat was very shiny and black and was fairly long over his back and flanks but shorter over his head and neck and a frontal ruff had yet to develop. The breeches and tummy fur were full and shaggy and the coat had a glossy topcoat. The tail had good length easily reaching the shoulders and was full and flowing and was totally black in colour. He had a white neck and there was a white stripe running down his underside. The two front legs had short white socks and the hind legs had longer white bootees.  A sweet cat who handled well.

3 Davie’s YAHESKA SMOKE ONTHEWATER

A dear three month old black smoke and white kitten who was at a disadvantage on the day due to his tender age competing against older kittens. He was a good size for his age and had the correct rectangular body shape with a square ended rump and strong legs with rounded paws.  Head shape was in proportion to the body size and was medium in length and  had tall open ears that were pointed, sitting high on the head and had good ear tufts. The muzzle was almost square and had long white whiskers that were broken, no doubt due to kitten antics! The cheeks were filling out and he had a firm chin and a level bite. The nose had a slight curve at the nasal bridge and was of uniform width with a full black nose leather. The eyes were round in shape and had greenish eye colour, set slightly oblique and with a sweet expression. The coat was a dense black and was shiny with a glossy top coat and was fairly full on the body and flanks. The undercoat was a silvery white and the contrast was clearly visible over the body and head. The tail was very long reaching easily to the shoulders and was flowing and tapered gently at the tip. The neck was white and he had a white patch between his legs and all four feet were white. A delightful baby who was happy to be handled.

AOC Maine Coon Kitten Female

1 and BOB Macrae’s CALEYCOON LITTLE POPPET

I loved this delightful tortie tabby and white girl who was eight months old. She had lovely head and body type with excellent physique in correct proportions. Body shape was very rectangular and long with a wide chest and fairly long elegant neck and a square rump with strong well muscled legs that had large rounded paws with short tufts. Head shape was of medium length and had well placed ears that were very tall and pointed, open at the base and sitting high on top. They had very long black ear tufts and shorter pale ear feathering extending beyond the edge of the ears. She had high cheek bones and fairly full cheeks with an excellent white square muzzle, fat whisker pads with lovely long whiskers. Her profile had the correct shallow curve at the nasal bridge and the nose was of uniform width and had a pink nose leather lightly edged with pigment. Her chin was firm and balanced the face and she had a level bite. Rounded eyes of large size had greenish yellow colour giving focus to the face and a lovely pleasing expression. They had a slightly oblique setting and were rimmed with black and circled with paler spectacles. Her tortie colouring and tabby markings were excellent and were dense black on a warm copper agouti base overlaid with light and rich shades of red and were clearly visible on the face, ears and body. There was a tortie necklace around her neck and all legs were well broken with tabby lines and tortie colours. Her coat was long and flowing on the body and shorter over the head and neck and a frontal ruff was developing well. Her tail was very long and full with flowing fur that tapered gently and was showing very good tabby rings. The bib and body underside were white and she had four clean white feet. A girl who was very promising who had an alert and lovely maine coon expression and who was very friendly and well presented.

2 Casey’s SPIRRITZ SCOTCH MIST

A seven month old tortie smoke and white girl who was not quite so large as her rival but had good body shape that was long and rectangular set on well muscled legs that had large rounded paws and who has more growing to do, no doubt. The head was of correct length and shape being medium long and had a very good square muzzle that was showing both red and black shades and she had very long whiskers. The cheeks had good width and the chin was firm with a level bite. Her ears were fairly tall and open at the base with black tufts and short lighter ear feathering but could have been sitting a little taller and higher on the head. Both ears were well patched with one being red and the other being black. The eyes were large and rounded in shape, set far apart with yellowish green colour and sitting slightly oblique in the face. Her nose was of uniform width and had a shallow curve at the nasal bridge and a pink nose leather. There was a cream blaze on her forehead and nose. Her bib was white and she had a white spot between her back legs and all four feet had white socks. The coat was fairly long and flowing on her trunk region but shorter on the face, neck and head and were showing tortie colours of black and shades of red but the silvery white contrasting undercoat  was not visible on the main part of the body and only seen on the paws which may possibly be due to the time of year for smokes. Some tabby markings were evident with the forehead showing a slight ‘M’ and the front legs having slight barring and hopefully these will lessen and fade as she grows. The tail was long and flowing and had faint tabby rings. A well presented girl who had a sweet nature.

A red tabby and white maine coon boy who was not yet two years old that I have met several times before. He is a well developed boy with good physique having a large well boned body that was well muscled with strong legs that had large paws. Body shape was rectangular and long with a square shaped rump and broad chest. Head shape was of medium length and had pointed ears that were wide at the base and could have been sitting taller on the head and having very long tufts and lighter ear feathers. Well shaped cobby body set low on strong legs with short rounded paws. Very broad top of head with neat well set ears. Large eyes of rounded shape with good orange eye colour but appearing a bit heavy browed at this time due to a lot of overhanging fur above the eyes which spoilt her appearance a little and was due to a lot of accumulated dead hair. Very short nose had a very small pink nose leather and small nostrils that I would have liked to be larger. The cheeks were full and chubby and she had a broad muzzle that was white and showing that she had a white moustache The strong chin balanced the upper part of the face well and she had a scissor bite. A very well presented exhibit who had a lovely temperament and who handled well.

A delightful three month old chinchilla baby who was only just old enough to be at a show. He had good type with a very broad head for a baby that was well rounded and had a smooth forehead. Tiny ears were sited far apart on the skull and had long silver  ear feathers. His eyes were large and fully round with a sweet expression and had blue green eye colour developing well when we managed to wake him up from his sleep. The nose was very short and had a strong stop and a small nose leather that was a deep pink rather than brick red and was outlined with black. Cheeks were a little pinched at present as I daresay he is starting to teeth but it is possible that he will have good cheek width later. The muzzle was still to fill out and he had a well balanced chin and a scissor bite. The coat was very full and long with a long frill and a short dinky tail that was well furnished and was silvery white with a pure white undercoat. The tipping of black was very light and even over the head and body and was only just a little heavier over the lower back and tail. The chin, bib and underside of the body were pure white and he had perfect black eye rims and unsmudged black paw pads. A sweet baby with a promising future.

AV SLH Self Kitten

1 Russell’s SUPATOFT MOLLYANNA

A very pretty fawn somali kitten of four months of age who should not have been entered in this self class and which was not noticed but who was judged as a non self exhibit at the time. She was a very lithe, well grown firm kitten of good size and solid build with a medium size body and an elegant neck having pleasing somali type. The legs were strong well muscled with good boning and had oval slightly tufted paws. The head was a moderate shaped wedge which had gently curving lines and a high forehead. She had good width between the ears which were tipped with fawn, broad at the base, fairly large and pricked but lacking ear tufts at present. Large eyes of almond shape had yellow green eye colour, set slightly oblique and were circled with fawn eye rims and surrounded by pale spectacles and showing pencilling and eye lines on the face. The profile had a slight dip at the nasal bridge with a pink nose leather and a firm chin with a muzzle that had a shallow indentation and was much paler in colour. Her coat was soft and fine and was lying flat along the back and was of a warm fawn over a mushroom undercoat and was showing good fawn ticking which had good contrast especially on the neck and shoulder regions. There was darker shading along the spine line and down the upper surface of the tail which was long and well furnished and tapering towards a fawn tip. She had no ruff or breeches as yet and these have plenty of time to develop later. Her chest, tummy, inside of legs and the underside of the tail were a pale mushroom colour and she had solid fawn on the underside of her paws. A good natured girl when handled.

AV SLH Limit Kitten

1 Delaney’s COONTIPS PRINCESS LOLA

2 Russell’s SUPATOFT RUBY TUESDAY

A usual silver somali female of seven months of age who was well grown, showing a semi longhair with balanced build and with clear silver ticking over her head and body. She had a firm physique that was well muscled of medium build with head, body and tail in proportion carried on legs of good length which had good boning and oval shaped paws. The head was a broad moderate shaped wedge with gentle curves to the profile, a high forehead, smiling cheeks and a firm chin carried on an elegant neck. The ears were of medium size, set far apart, broad and open at the base, with ear feathers,  pointed and edged with black at the tips but lacking ear tufts at present. The eyes were almond shaped and large with a slightly oblique setting in the face with yellowish green colour and were showing a dark circle surrounded by paler spectacles. Her nose had a slight nose break with a deep pink nose leather, not yet quite brick red, edged with black pigment. She had a spotted muzzle that had a slight indent and a well formed chin. The coat was soft and fine and was lying flat on her back and was showing good black ticking that contrasted very well with the silver ground colour. The back had a dark line of shading down the spine and which got darker on the upper side of the tail which was long, full and  tapered gently towards the tip. The chest, tummy and inside of the legs were silver and she had no ruff or breeches developed yet. The paws had black pads and were solid from the tips to the hocks. A lithe friendly female who was in excellent condition.

Miller’s RAGARENE ROCKAFELLA

A seal pointed ragdoll of six months of age who had a lot of rude language when we wanted to handle him but we were able to take him out of his pen. He was a large kitten with a strong firm body which had good length, a short thick neck and a broad chest with a well rounded rump on medium height legs which had good boning and large round paws. The head was broad with a flat plane and had medium size round tipped ears which were set well apart and slightly tilted forward. Fairly full cheeks with a rounded muzzle and a firm chin with a level bite. The nose was of medium length  and had a gentle dip at the nasal bridge with a slightly retroussee tip. His eyes were large and had excellent deep blue colour and were placed far apart with a slight oblique setting in the face. The points were a dark seal brown shade and were well matching on the ears, face, feet and tail which was long and bushy and in proportion to the body length. The body had a silky coat that was short to medium in length with a ruff just starting to develop but lacking knickerbockers at present and was of a dark beige shade that was clear on his head and  lighter on the tummy and chest but showing some shadiness on his flanks. A promising kitten who now needs to be handled a lot more to ensure he is more relaxed and easy going at the shows so as to further his show career.

1 Smith’s GR PR WOOSY JIGGLI WIGGLI

A chunky solid and heavy blue persian boy that I have judged several times before who has good persian type and who is very cobby with a broad chest and well rounded rump set on short tree trunk legs. Strong head shape that was broad and had neat well feathered ears set far apart. Huge saucer shaped round eyes that had mid copper eye colour still very good for a cat that is over six years old and with a lovely expression. He had a short broad nose with a strong stop and a full blue nose leather with good nostrils. The chin was deep and balanced and he had a wide muzzle, fat chubby cheeks with a scissor bite. The coat was very full and of medium length but dense and like a lovely powder puff of a mid blue shade with an excellent full frill, lovely fluffy trousers and a short very bushy tail. The coat colour was very even throughout and was very well presented. A cat who was in excellent condition and is a credit to his owners.

2 Elliott’s PR STARSPANGLE GLITZY BOLAN

A very lovely chinchilla boy with super type that I meet at almost every Scottish show but who breaks my heart as he refuses to be handled and has some very rude and naughty things to say to me! All I can do is to describe him in his pen as he shows me his teeth and sounds out his growls. In some ways, I think it might be kinder to leave him at home from now on if he dislikes the shows so much. He is not yet two years old and is in his prime having excellent chinchilla type.  Head shape is very broad with small well placed ears that had lovely long silver ear feathers. Beautiful large round eyes with lovely aquamarine eye colour edged with black rims. The nose was short and had a shallow nose break with a deep pink nose leather edge with pigment.  The chin was deep and balanced and he had good facial width with full cheeks and a broad muzzle which had good whisker pads with long silvery whiskers. The chin, neck and underside appeared to be pure white while his head and back were very lightly tipped with black and was even and only slightly denser on the lower back and upper part of the tail. He had short rounded paws which had lovely silvery feathering. The coat was very long and full with a great frill, fluffy trousers and a very short fluffy tail.

SLH Senior Neuter

1 Trotter’s PR JULESCOON HUGME HENRY

A brown tabby and white boy who is almost two and a half years of age and who is now a mature male with large muscular physique having large bone structure, solid weighty body with strong well muscled legs. Body shape was long and rectangular with a broad chest, fairly long neck and a square shaped rump. Large head of medium length which had a good profile having a long nose which had a shallow curve at the nasal bridge which was located halfway between the line of the ears and the top of the nose and showing a full pink nose leather. Good square muzzle which was white and fairly full cheeks with high cheek bones. The chin was firm and he had a level bite. The ears were tall and were sitting high on the head and were open at the base with pointed tips that were tufted and feathered. Oblique set eyes of large size and round shape had greenish eye colour and were circled with pale spectacles and had a pleasing gentle expression. The tabby markings were very clear on the face which had a strong ‘M’ on his forehead and showing clear face and head lines. They were a dense black over a warm copper agouti colour. The bib was white and he had a very long white ruff and shirt front as well as a fully white underside. The tabby markings on his face had a sharply defined butterfly over the shoulders and good barring on his legs although the length of coat masked the density of markings on his body. The tail was very long and full and tapered slightly towards the tip and had slight tabby rings. All four feet were white and he had lovely fully tufted paws. A regal cat with plenty of presence and who was well shown.

2 Southall’s CH and GR PR GOWLAREN SILVER MARCUS

They had a dark surround outlined lighter spectacles and with short pencilling on the outer side of each eye. A medium length nose with a slight nose break had a brick red nose leather edged with pigment. Gently rounded cheeks with a profile that showed a slightly curved muzzle which had tabby spotting and a firm chin. The body was of medium size, firm, lithe and very muscular supported on long legs which had lovely oval black tufted paws with black paw pads. The coat was silver with good black ticking on his body and the texture of the coat was soft and fine and was lying flat along the spine his back. There was  a densely ticked black line running down the spine and along the top of his tail which was long and well furnished and was a silver white on the underside .  His chest, belly and inner leg areas were silvery white and he had full breeches and a well developed thick ruff. A well mannered cat who was pleased to be handled and who was in good condition and was well presented.

3 Bradley’s PR VONVARDA KA CHINA

A blue bicolour ragdoll who is over two years old and who has a very strongly built very long body that is very heavy and well muscled. The neck was thick and she had a broad chest. She was somewhat grumpy at being handled on the day which is not like her usual self as I have met her before but was one of the reasos for her lower placing. Head shape was strong and broad with a flat plane and good width between the ears which were of medium size and slightly tilted forward. She had large eyes set slightly oblique which had good blue eye colour. The cheeks were full and she had a broad muzzle and a firm chin. The nose was of medium length with a dip in profile and a slightly retroussee tip and a pink nose leather. Her coat was silky and dense and of medium length and was a bluish white colour over the body with bluish grey points. There was an inverted ‘V’ on the lower face region covering the muzzle and chin and her bib and underside were white. The tail was very long and tapered slightly. Coat texture and condition were good.

Chocolate Point Kitten Male

BOB W/H 1st  French,s Nexis Enrico M 24B 26.11.08  Rather a nervous boy to start, but of Good type, narrow top of head with large ears that he needs to put some distance between, and ideally could be larger for balance. Dark but warm chocolate points fairly well matched and well developed for age. He had rather full rounded eyes that I put down to nerves but these were this shape when he relaxed. These were of a good colour. Slight dip to profile with a rather shallow chin that spoiled the look in profile. His coat was his best feature with a super short coat of lovely clear warm cream groomed to perfection. Long elegant legs and large feet to grow into with a lovely long whip tail to balance his long well grown body. Just too many little faults to warrant the BOB on the day.

A/V Siamese Breeders Adult Female

1st Shands Palmira Sulaweisi 24B F 15.02.08
Attractive lady of very good overall type, longer wedge with broad top set with large flared ears very well set. Slight dip and bump to profile Firm chin and level bite eyes of good colour but rather straight set and a trifle deep set Long muscular body toned and well muscled for age, whipped tail with small invisible fault near tip that ideally requires an inch for better balance. Warm slightly dark chocolate points well developed and well matched. Lightly shaded warm coat well groomed and smooth lying. Long elegant neck which she uses to her advantage, lovely confident temperament and well presented.
2nd Robb's Rivaness Mardi Gras 32/8 01.08.08 F Rather a shy young lady of a  very pretty colour that was typically blue base caramel tabby. Super sludgy toned caramel well developed with super tail rings and facial tracings together with evident leg bars, whisker spots and thumb prints. Medium wedge with rather a noticeable pinch today, fullish eyes of good colour that did look better when she relaxed in her pen after some cuddles. Large well set ears with good wide top. Slight dip to profile with firm chin and level bite. Very long muscular body with very long tail and elegant limbs and tiny spoon paws. An elegant girl who needs more self belief and who would look far better if she relaxed.

AV Siamese Not bred by Exhibitor Adult Male  Interesting and challenging class with very little between the first three cats

1st Shand,s Gr Ch Andalyn Amadeaus 24 M 04.06.06
Stylish boy rather on edge today and it showed, he can look very stylish when he relaxes but today he took a lot of soothing to get him to show himself. Very large flared ears that did look a smidge bonneted today  (nerves) Longer wedge with very wide top and super large flared ears very wide at base, long elegant neck that he would insist on hunching into his shoulders. Almost straight profile with firm chin and basically level bite. Very long body looking a tad lean but muscular and it is summer and boys do tend to look more lean in the summer, his coat was a wee bit dry though this was short and fairly close lying. Long elegant legs and long whip tail to balance. The overall impression is still stylish and he does look younger than his age and really does need to look masculine. Nonetheless he is very attractive and overall a quality cat super presentation.
2nd Lintons Fiordiliso Taken Asread 32A M 20.02.08
Such a pity this boy was in such a foul temper I just managed to handle him after several attempts for his Open class Judge Mrs Starr but was unable to check his bite. Had this been checked (and this been OK) would have been placed higher. He has a gorgeous head Longer and very strong with Large well set ears with a very wide top and beautifully wide at base with lovely gutters when viewed from behind! Huge long body rather large for a youngster especially when he was in no mood to cooperate. Lovely dark flashing eyes of super expression and colour as well as shape.  Bright reddish gold points very well developed and super contrast to his gorgeous smooth lying coat it was lightly shaded and showed some spots and he had leg bars and slight tail rings. Bright pink paw pads and nose leather. Straight profile and firm chin. Bit looked level but this could not be determined for certain without me upsetting him further or injuring myself. Lovely presentation and condition, think he was being a hormonal teenager and was not happy with his vocal neighbours. Pity. I liked him immensely.
3rd French's Palmira Beaujangles 24B M 05.09.08
Handsome Youngster looking masculine and well developed for his young age, Longer wedge with almost straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Large ears that ideally need a smidge more width between at times but better when relaxed. Slightly deep set eyes of very good colour. Long muscular developing body of good length. Long whipped tail with long elegant legs and fine paws. Lovely warm chocolate points well developed and matching with clear smooth coat. Lovely temperament and presentation nice pinkish chocolate pads and nose leather .
4th Gibsons Rivaness Quality Street 24A M 01.08.08
Very laid back chap of super temperament and condition but sadly was a very very dark blue and had an extremely shaded coat and today this dropped him down the placings, he did his utmost to win me over with his expert breadmaking skills and head butting.Medium wedge head with large well set ears showing wide top and displaying good flare almost straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Long muscular body with long whip tail and dainty paws. Pads and nose leather very dark purplish blue and the points in the available light did show a brownish tone to them but as the show hall lighting had a very orange cast I was not able to determine how much was because of the light. His coat was warm and had a brownish shading and did not look cold and glacial although was in lovely condition and was smooth lying of good texture. A charming boy in sparkling condition.

AV Adolescent Adult
1st Brysons Adateam Up for It 24C M 30.07.08
Rather a course young man of average type with medium wedge with ears that ideally could be larger for balance and set further apart. Almost straight profile with firm chin and spot on bite. Long thick set body with shortish legs and tail that needs and inch for better balance. Dark lilac points with slight brownish cast on the back of his ears in the available light but the overall impression was dark lilac, dark lilac pads and nose leather. Warm magnolia coat that was quite thick and coarse along spine. Eyes of somewhat palish blue and rather full and lacking the expression I look for in a Siamese. Sweet temperament.
2nd White's Dedannan Elegantsa 24 M 26.07.08
Again a young male looking at an In between  stage and rather unbalanced today and needing to develop. Medium wedge with large ears needing more width between  and a smidge bonneted. Dark warm seal brown points looking dense and correct, his coat was very coarse and dry and not smooth and close lying. Rather short in the body and with rather short stocky lets and tail that could be finer and an inch longer for balance. Slightly straight set eyes that ideally could have been deeper for a seal. Sweet temperament.

Attractive lady of very good overall type. Excellent temperament, dark but well matched blue points. Super top with large well set ears  on a medium wedge with almost straight profile. Eyes of super colour just a smidge wide and this detracted slightly from her overall expression. Slight pinch. Warm cream coat incorrect for colour but of super texture and lightly shaded in a light brownish tone again in the available light. Requires more of a glacial tone for breed standard. A pretty lady looking good today.

Stylish lady of very good overall type with medium wedge with large well set ears with good width at base. Almost straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Lovely expressive eyes of super colour and shape. Long muscular body with long limbs and whip tail to balance slightly dark seal brown points lacking a bit in warmth and darkish coat needing a bit more contrast. But lovely polished coat of super texture. In super condition and lovely temperament.
2nd Woolley's Pr Gentantique Atholdorn 29 MN 12.09.07
Rather dark Havana boy of good type but for me lacking the warm polished conker colour and was rather a dark brown that was sound in places but paled towards the roots along the spine and on the sides of his torso. I know how hard this colour is to show but he did have a few scattered white hairs and some scurf present. He had a lovely temperament and was in good condition. His eyes were a pale green and not the bright vivid green required by the standard. Bite messy but basically level. He had large ears that were well set.
Quite a handsome boy but not without his faults today.

Mr S Leppard

It was lovely to be back at the Edin & East of Scotland and I wish to thank Isobel Walker and her team for the invite. I had a lovely day and my grateful thanks to my steward Rosemary Linnet for stewarding for me again in her usual excellent way, during a very busy and warm day. As always thank you to the exhibitors for showing your lovely cats, without them, there is no show.

Tabby Birman Male
1CC& BOB Warren’s Hamshill Romeo 13c11 Nice mature lad of very good Birman type. Nice broad rounded skull, with medium nose, solid nose leather, showing gentle dip to profile. Medium size ears set well apart, solid with faint thumb prints. Lovely full round cheeks that gave the desired overall balanced look to head. Expressive almost round eyes, with faint spectacles, of a very good blue. Very good depth to chin and good level bite. For being just being under 15 months old I rather liked the size and boning to this attractive lad, who was of good length, set on medium thickset legs, with short strong paws, just what a stud lad should be. Even seal to points, against a light agouti background, with defined tabby markings, to face, legs and on a medium length tail, that was slightly brindled, but the barring were there, with solid seal tip. Front gloves were quite even, socks were almost even. Both gauntlets were of a good almost even length, although there was on both just below the gauntlets, what may be white/cream small spots but the lighting today was not good, when pushed backwards they almost disappeared, therefore I gave the benefit of doubt today. Very nice soft full silky coat that was beautifully groomed, showing most attractive pale beige with golden hue through the coat. A very attractive friendly lad who was in excellent condition. I spoke to his owner after I had finished, regarding the gauntlets, I understand this is his second CC; he is a lovely lad, who I shall watch with interest, very nicely shown and well done.

AC Colourpointed/Mitted Ragdoll Inc Red & Tabby Adult Male
Today was my first time awarding certificates to Ragdoll, which I was very pleased about, sadly I had to withhold my first CC, which was a great shame, but I had no option
CC W/h 1st Scott’s Patriarca Reggie 66atw.  Blue Tabby Mitted, 8/9/06. Large lad, quite good width to top of head, showing flat plane, ears were set slightly high, but were solid, with distinct thumb prints, rounded at tips and well furnished Cheeks were not as well developed as they should be, muzzle lacked the roundness and depth which spoilt the look, and chin receceded, lacked depth, but bite was good. Very good eye shape, well opened, showing oblique set, of a very good blue, with very light spectacles. Nice medium length to nose, pinky nose leather, showing gentle dip, slight retrousse to tip.. Nice clear M to mask with quite clear tabby barring to legs and on nice long bushy tail, set against a nice blue to points, against the light beige agouti background, going to shoulders and slightly tapering to tip, unfortunately there was kinked vertibrane at the tip, which was verified by duty vet.  Nice clean white chin, with clean white front bib and chest, very clean even front mittens, with sparkling white back legs, up to the hock. Very good body length and build to this big lad, showing short neck and good depth to chest, set on medium substantial large round tufted paws, nice clean pink pads. Excellent grooming and show preparation to this lads coat, that was full and of a nice silky texture showing a pleasing bluish white. A  very friendly big lad who was such a charmer, sadly due to the tail fault and  narrow cheeks, very weak chin I had no option but to withhold the CC.Very nicely shown indeed.

Lovely lady beautifully shown.

AC Colourpointed/Mitted Ragdoll (Inc Red & Tabby) Male Kitten
1st & BOB Miller Ragarene Rockafella 66 Seal Colourpointed 15/1/09.  Super big lad who was very confident and quite vocal. Lovely type, nice mature head for age, broad with very pleasing flat plane, showing good width between medium size ears, with slight tip evident, rounded at tip and showing good furnishing. Excellent full cheeks with very good depth to well developed chin, quite good bite, at teething stage. Correct medium length to nose, with gentle dip and correct retrousse to tip. Very expressive large well opened eyes showing slight oblique set, of a stunning blue, set well apart. Very dense Seal to ears,  mask, legs, but   quite brindled on his long bushy tail, which goes up to shoulders, and has the required taper to tip. I was impressed with the size and boning to this lad, who is just 6 months old, strong and muscular, already showing a short neck with good breadth to chest, set on medium length firm legs with large rounded tufted paws. Very nice full soft silky coat, that did have surface shading but showed nice contrast to the dense seal points. A very impressive lad who had presence and although vocal handled very nicely and he was my nomination for BIS. Beautifully shown and presented, well done.

Ac Colourpointed/Mitted Ragdoll (Inc Red & Tabby) Female Kitten
1st Miller’s Sassena Sealed with a Kiss 66w Seal Mitted 30/3/09. What a little poppet, a real doll. Lovely kitten of very good type. Head developing very nicely, already showing a most pleasing flat plane, with good width between medium ears, rounded at tips, furnishings still to develop, held a little high today. Cheeks developing, but showing a nicely rounded developed muzzle for one so young, firm chin and good bite.  Nice medium length to nose with gentle dip, slightly retrousse to tip. Well opened eyes, set well apart, a fraction small, nice oblique set of a decent blue.  Good Seal colour to seals with mask developing and on legs, with a decent Seal tone to medium length tail, very much a kitten tail at present. Nice clean white chin, with clean white bib and under body, very  nice white even front mittens, up to ankle of paw and legs, correct white on back legs up to the hock. This sweet little kitten was of a good weight and substance and quite sturdy, with firm medium legs with large rounded tufted paws, sweet pink pads. Excellent grooming and show preparation to this lovely girl, who had a most attractive off white coat, silky in texture showing beautiful contrasts to her seal points. A gorgeous kitten who had the most wonderful temperament, I adored her and seriously considered her for BOB but the presence and maturity & eye colour of the lad won. I am sure this little lady will develop into a beautiful princess; I will watch her progress with great interest.
AC Bi Colour Ragdoll (Inc Red & Tabby) FN PC W/h 1st Bradley’s Pr Vonvarda Ka China 66 31a Blue Bi Colour, 10/5/07. A very attractive mature lady of beautiful type. Nice broad head with good flat plane, excellent width between medium size ears, rounded at tip, well furnished and  with slight tilt forward. Wonderful fully developed cheeks with an excellent full developed muzzle, firm chin, sadly she would not let me assess her mouth, it appeared to be rather sore, and hence why I withheld PC today, with great regret. Medium length to nose with slight dip and retrousse to tip. Large well opened eyes set well apart, showing obligue set, wonderful deep blue colour. Very pleasing  even  bluish white to points, very nice balanced inverted  V on the forehead, which extends downwards covering  nose, clean & pink, whisker pads and chin, not going past outer aperture of eye. Nice clean white bib, chest and underbody. Clean white front legs, with white up to underbody. Excellent boning, weigh and muscular feel to this lovely girl, who was of a very good size, with  short neck and good depth to chest, set on firm medium substantional legs, large round  tufted paws, pink pads. Excellent grooming and presentation to this girl, who had a very nice quite full soft silky coat, showing beautiful contrast to her points, with the desired even patches of white, two. A very impressive girl in excellent condition. I did speak to her owner to express my regret not being able to award PC today, due to not being able to assess her bite, hopefully this will rectify, but very nicely shown.

Brown Tabby Maine Coon 12/9/08. Young attractive girl of nice type, medium length to head, quite full cheeks, with high cheekbones, muzzle is developing, square look coming, good bite. Uniform length to nose, slight concave curve to nasal, no break. Ears held tall, good set, good width to base, nice tufts coming from ears.  Full round eyes of an alert expression, with very slight oblique set of a lovely amber colour. Very good body length to  this girl, who  not only has substance but has a nice muscular look and feel to her, set on strong limbs, with large round paws black pads, toes held close, five in front , 4 behind. Very slight Square rump evident, this girl I feel will broaden and fill out as she matures. Very attractive   quite full nicely prepared coat, of good length, with nice glossy overcoat, shows nice tabby markings  against a  beige background, although shorter at neck at present, is a little longer down the flanks, particularly on the tail that was long going up to the head, wide at base and showing tapering at tip. Excellent condition and show presentation to this girl who has a most endearing temperament, she seemed to enjoy being handled, she can only improve as she develops. Very nicely shown.

1st Russell’s Dalteema Crrailiso Amber 13c7 Cream Birman 29/5/08.  Young lady of quite good type, would like her bigger, she needs to grow.  Good top to head, cheeks need more fullness and more depth to chin, which recedes, for overall balance. Medium nose length, with slight dip to profile, good bite. Eyes were rather small, slightly round today but of a very good blue. Medium ears set apart. Nice pale even cream to, ears, mask, legs and on a medium tail. Quite even front gloves, with almost matching back socks, both gauntlets are of a good even length.  Excellent grooming and presentation to this attractive girls coat, that was silky and soft, of a good length, showing a most pleasing light off white colouring, with a pleasing light golden hue, that  gave a most attractive contrast to her cream points. Excellent condition and temperament to this girl, who needs to grow and develop more, but she is just under 14 months old, hopefully she will mature as she develops, she is at that awkward stage that most go through; hopefully a litter of kittens will bring her on. I will watch her progress with interest.

Very good length to the body which was of good substance, just needs to fill out, set on firm set limbs, correct large round paws, toes held close 5 in front, 4 behind, with tufts. Coat was short,( time of year) but was very nicely prepared, showing very pleasing Tortie and smoke throughout, with evident tortie to head, legs and on  nice  long full tail, up to shoulders, wide at base with taper to tip. 1) HAMILTON'S CH INYANGA SEA MIST (68 43asq) F 23.10.06

A beautiful girl, of lovely type.
The head has a short wedge, is wide at the cheekbones and tapers to a blunt muzzle. Her ears, of medium size, are broad based with rounded tips, and are set well apart on a slightly rounded top of head. The brow is gently curved with a distinct break to her straight nose, which ends in a firm and level chin of good depth. Her expressive, large and lustrous, pale yellow eyes are set wide apart and have correct shape. The body is of medium size, feeling muscular and weighty, with slender legs and neat, oval paws. 2) MINTO'S CH MINTANDER SAGIRA (78 30s) F 18.1006

This girl was very interested in her surroundings and was happy to be judged.
Although her ears were held slightly high, they are well shaped, pointed and slightly flared - medium in size. Her slightly rounded wedge is of medium length and her profile shows a gentle contour, which rises from her nose to forehead, flowing back to her neck. The nose is uniform in shape and ends in a gently rounded muzzle and firm, level chin. Eyes are gooseberry green, almond in shape under a level brow and have a slightly upward slant to the lower lid. She has good weight to her medium sized body with slender legs, neat paws and good length to her well-shaped tail. The coat is shiny, short and close lying, a very good silvery white, contrasting well with the black markings which are clear, both on her head which has desired 'scarab' and facial mascara lines as well as correct broken necklaces on chest and the random body spots, with spinal line and dark tip to tail. A lovely girl.

AV NOVICE KITTEN

1) MINTO'S DREAMCATCHER MISS MADDIE (77) F 14.03.09

What a little beauty! Rounded width to head with short, broad muzzle and a blunt nose which ends in a well developed chin Ears are of lovely shape and set. Large, wide-open hazel eyes with correct slant and dark outline are set well apart. Her neat body is firm and slender, legs taper to small oval feet and her tail is long with a blunt tip. Coat is short, silky and close-lying - a beautiful pale and warm gold ivory with correct sepia ticking and light bands. I loved her - such a sweetie and I wanted to take her home!

2) MINTO'S ACCLAIM MINTANDER NEAVE (78 30s) F 03.03.09

A very attractive and outgoing kitten. Her head has a slightly rounded wedge of medium length with a gentle outline, which correctly rises from her nose to forehead. The muzzle is rounded and her chin is firm and level, with parallel lines to the nose. The ears are well placed, of good shape and size. Her expressive and almond shaped eyes, which show an upward slant to the lower lid, are a pale gooseberry green and are set straight below a level brow. Her body is neat and muscular with good weight, and her legs and feet are in proportion - the tail is of medium length, tapering to end. Her markings, on a pale silver ground colour and with good contrast, are very pronounced - the head shows the "M" with frown marks and scarab design on top with lines extending to ears and her cheeks have lovely mascara lines. The body shows clear random spots, as does the underside, and her chest has a broken necklace. Markings show spots and small stripes on legs, and her tail ends in a dark tip, with desired stripe along her spine.
I had great difficulty placing these kittens as both were of exceptional quality.

Mrs G Robertson

Many thanks to show manager Isabel Walker & her able assistant & section managers mesdames Lindsay & Davidson for the invitation to judge at this friendly & smooth running show.  I am grateful for the able assistance of Moira Wilson who was my steward for the day & hope we can team up again sometime in the future.  I was disappointed to have only one Open Class to judge on the day but the time of year coupled with the recession must surely have contributed to the lack of exhibits.

AC BURMESE CHAMPION FEMALE

1  GR CC MALONE'S CH. PURDIELS CARVED BY ANGELS  27A  F 24.8.02
A very attractive female with a good Burmese head and with particularly striking and well set eyes.  A good gentle rounding over and around the head.  The ears were of good size for balance and size and were set so well on the head with a good forward tilt. As mentioned her eyes were particularly appealing and I would not have liked them larger. There was excellent rounding to the bottom lid and the upper lid had the typical curve to the tear duct.  The nose break was acceptable and the nose had a very slight bump on it. The bite was level. She possessed a good short, blunt muzzle. The body had good muscle tone and she had pleasing substance. The legs were of good length, were muscled and ended in neat spoon-shaped feet. The tail was just acceptable for length and it was of excellent shape.  The coat on this girl was a lovely mid-blue with silvering on the rounded areas. It lay well to the body so close and had an excellent shine.  A very appealing girl and well deserving of the GR CC today.  Presented so well for the show.

 SINGAPURA KITTEN

MINTO'S DREAM CATCHER MISS MADIE  77 F 14.3.09  A super looking Singapura kitten of really good type and looking so typical of the breed. The front profile was particularly good. The skull was rounded across and over the head with a short broad muzzle. The ears were of good size and with good width and open at the base. The outline did show them to be slightly wide of parallel. The eyes were large and set well apart. The side profile needed a little more dip and it was almost straight. The chin was of acceptable depth. The whisker pads were pronounced. The body had a pleasing developing muscle tone but even allowing for her sex I would have like a little more.  The legs were slim yet muscled and the tail tapered well. The Ticking was very clearly defined and it was in a darkish brown on a pale ivory undercoat. Her markings were most appropriate and unlike many she possessed the desirable rear knee barrings. Overall, a lovely looking girl and so well prepared for the show.

EGYPTIAN MAU KITTEN

MINTO'S ACCLAIM MINTANDER NEAVE 78 30S F 3.3.09
A very attractive young Egyptian Mau kitten with a good head overall possessing the typical and slightly rounded wedge. The ears were well set on the head and were good, carrying the outer edge of the face well and they were of moderate size. They had good width at the base with good width between them.   The side profile showed a pleasing dip and she had a chin which was of good depth. The eyes were of good size and were quite rounded with a hint of almond shape They were set straight in the head and with the required upward slant on the lower lid only.  The eyes appeared to be changing. They were pale green in the outer iris and with a darker more intense green in the inner iris. There were slightly raised whisker pads. The body was quite muscular for such a young kitten and she possessed good size for her age. The patterning was well defined generally. The head had a complex scarab with good defined mascara lines and one broken necklet. The lines over the head broke into spots of various sizes on the upper flanks and down to the sides. The ticking on the base coat which was of good clear silver was only marginally intrusive on the lower mid-flanks but on the rear and shoulders the spotting was very well defined. The tummy was well spotted. The overall impression was good and the coat was clear of any tarnishing.  The coat quality was good, it was close lying with a good sheen. There was a slight resilience in the silvered coat. The upper legs were barred as was the tail which was of pleasing length and shape and there was a transition from barring to stripes on the upper legs. The tail bars were heavier banded and the tail ended in a black tip. The legs were of good length even in this kitten and were slim and muscled and the feet were small and almost round.

ASIAN SMOKE OR BURMILLA NEUTER

These were two interesting cat for although they were registered with the same colour they were quite different in appearance even when taken to daylight.

1  PC  and BOB  BLAIR'S INYANGA CALVIN 72 43 ASQ  16.2.08  A good strong neuter male of good Asian type. A really good head with good space between the ears and ears which were medium small set well on the head more to the sides than on top. The eyes were of really good size and were ideally shaped with good curving into the tear duct which gives the typical look. The nose break was good, the nose straight and the chin of good depth.  The body was firm and muscular and the legs were appropriate for his age and sex and they ended in neat trim paws which were almost spoon-shaped. The coat was of good quality, it lay well had a good texture and was quite even toned. There were the usual agouti features, the white areas around the eyes, lips and upper chin. There were mascara lines and a complex  ‘M’.  Of the two boys this boy matched the description of blue. He appeared bluish under the poorer hall lighting and definite Burmese blue in the day light.  I had not problem with his coat and on type and confirmation of colour and pattern I had no difficulty in awarding the PC today. Shown in very good condition.

2 LANE'S INYANGA CHAROUTTA 72 43 ASQ 2.10.07 This boy was of overall good type as well. He had a very attractive head with good size and balance. There was good space between the ears with good gentle rounding and the ears sat well on the head typically carrying the outer edge well. The nose break was good and the nose was straight. The chin was of good depth however, it did recede a little.  The eyes were very pleasing but the upper line did not quite manage the typical menacing look. The body was firm and well muscled. The legs were slim and again ended in neat  appropriately sized feet. The tail was good for shape and balance. The coat quality was good it was short and it lay well to the body and had a good find texture to it. The colour however was more reminiscent of caramel and I almost wrong coloured him. There was too much of a mantle of browning to this blue to call him a quality blue. There appeared to be some tarnishing to his feet. The silver undercoat was almost a very pale oatmeal. Consideration may be given as to whether he is a caramel.  Shown in good condition.

BROWN BURMESE ADULT MALE

1 CC and BOB FERGUSON'S TEAROHA BROWN BUTTONS 27  F 21.7.08 This boy had the most stunning coat and one not often seen on a male cat, especially a  working boy. A good head with gentle rounding on top and with good space between the well set ears. The nose break was good though the bump on the nose was rather distracting especially from side profile. This was a pity as he had so many characteristics that made him such a nice lad. The eyes were good for shape, size and setting and they were set apart on his head. The chin was of good depth. The body was firm and well muscled. The legs were of good length and they ended in neat trim feet appropriate to his age. The tail was good and almost balanced. It tapered well. The coat was however excellent. It simply shone with health. It was short fine and it lay so close to body.  I really like him and he was shown in good condition and really cooperated with us today.

BROWN  BURMESE ADULT FEMALE

1 CC  FERGUSON’S TEAROHA BROWN BUTTON 27F 21.7.08  A small girl but rather nicely proportioned. I just wanted to have a little more size.  The head was very pleasing. She had good ear set with lovely forward tilt. There was good space between these ears. The eyes were overall of good shape and were well set. However, I would have liked them a little larger overall.  The nose break was good and the nose straight with a chin of pleasing depth. The body was firm and the legs were trim and muscular ending in very neat spoon-shaped feet. The tail was nicely shaped and it tapered well to a good length.  The coat was of very good quality. It was fine, it shone, it lay well to the body but it did not possess the excellent of the boy’s . Shown in good condition and worthy of her CC.

BLUE BURMESE NEUTER MALE

1 PC NOCK'S GR PR PURFIDELIS SIRIUS 27A  MN 1.7.05  An attractive lad with a strong look and quite typical of the breed and possessing a super expression.  A good head for type showing a good gentle rounding and a good space between the well set ears. They had a lovely forward tilt and width at the base. His eyes were of good shape even though the colour was a little pale chartreuse. The nose was straight and the chin had a good depth to it. There was also good depth for the top of the head to the bottom of the jaw. His body had excellent muscle tone and his legs were of good shape and muscle. The feet were oval in shape and quite appropriate for his size and shape.  The coat was a super texture it was fine, short and lay close to the body. This was a real attribute on this boy and so good; a lovely dark mahogony. The tail was well shaped and almost balanced.  Shown in really condition. One of the biggest boys I have handled. Must be a joy to live with.

BLUE BURMESE NEUTER FEMALE

LECKIE’S WELL BRAND KRETCHMA  JOJO  27A  FN 24.7.0. A strong looking girl with some lovely features.  I particularly liked her eyes were which were in yellow and stood out so well against mid-blue of her coat. She was a big girl and my main criticism was that she did look rather masculine. Her head had good width on the top and the ear set was good even though being a little upset she tended to bonnet her ears.  The nose break was good and she had a tiny bump on her nose. The chin was of good depth.  She was a little unhappy and she did not show herself to her best in this respect.  When I judged her coat was open and she did not look in best condition. Though I have to say in the afternoon this had settled down and look much, much better. The texture of coat then was good; it was short but did not lie well when she was judged in her open class.  I did think hard before withholding but at the time I judged her coat was quite open and I would have preferred her to be a little more feminine. Shown in very good condition.

CHOCOLATE BURMESE  NEUTER

NELSON'S INYANGA KIYOMI 27B FN 17.8.08   At just 11 months this young neuter Burmese was a rather attractive girl. She had space between her well set ears with good gentle rounding on top. The ear set was very good and with good width to the base but carrying the outer edge of the head so well. The eyes were good with good rounding to the lower line and with the rather good curving to the upper line so well. She had a good nose break, short straight nose and a chin of acceptable depth. The body had good developing muscle tone. The legs were of good size and gave her an elegant stance. The feet were small and spoon-shaped. The tail was good for shape and length. I would have like her a little larger but she still has time to grow. A very good coat of warmth which lay well to the body and was short with a good texture.  Small but quality. Well done and shown so well.

MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES

AV NOVICE ADULT

1 DAWSON'S GLENDAVAN RODERICK-JAYNES   23 M  18.9.08  A really attractive Abyssinian who really showed him to perfection being calm and cooperative.  A lovely  good head and quite typical A gently rounded brown to top of head and showing good width with a gently rounded wedge. The There was a slight nose break with no bump. The eyes were set well apart and were large and expressive in a rounded almond shape. The ears were set wide apart and were large and well cupped. The body was muscular but very lithe. The legs were slender and elegant and with oval feet appropriate to his sex and age. The tail was tapered and almost long enough.  The coat was short and fine and lay so close to the body. The ticking was very distinct on a lovely ruddy orange basecoat. The base colour extended to the skin with very little paling. The usual agouti feature of paling around the mouth and upper chin were present. There was a distinct M’ . There was a faint line of ticking colour along the back of the head along the spine and to the tail which was black tipped.  A really striking boy who was of really excellent type and deserved to win this class.

2  PHILIP'S MELKELTER MERRY MONARCH  16A  M 20.6.08  A very appealing Russian Blue male and he did possess that trademark look almost benign way of looking.  I would have liked his face to have a little more length. The ear set was upward pointing as required and looked so typical. The eyes were quite typical also. A good wedge which was short from nose tip to eyes. There was a flattish area on the top of the head between the ears.  The whisker pads had some prominence. The body was long and quite graceful . There was good muscling. The legs were of good length and the feet oval in shape. The tail was of good length and it tapered well. The coat had that thickish density and yet softish, it was a clear blue and even with a distinct silvery sheen in medium blue.  Shown in good condition

A good rounding to the skull with a lovely definite whisker break with a short medium broad muzzle with a blunt nose. The ears were of good size and were well cupped. The eyes were large and express and set well apart. The were almost rounded with just a hint of a slant as required. They were in green. The body was of good substance showing good muscle tone. The legs were well muscled at the body and they tapered to small oval feet. The tail was of good length it was slender but certainly not whippy. The coat was short, fine and close lying with a silky texture. The body colour was a pale ivory ticked in sepia brown. The ticking was so well defined with a minimum of two bands clearly seen. There were some grey areas to the coat on the body but there was no lack of warmth in the coat therefore it was not a fault. There was some barring on the inner legs which was acceptable the important outer front legs were clear. There were cheetah lines from the inner corner of the eyes. The slight whisker pads were present. A really attractive female of quality. Shown so well.

EX 2 HAMILTON'S KENNBURY INYANGA AYESHA 27C F 21.6.08  A very attractive lilac Burmese girl of really good type and with such a lovely stance when we had her out.  She had  a really good head which was typically feminine.  A good general rounding on top with good space between the well set ears of good shape. The eyes were very good for both shape and size. They were well set apart and were particularly lustrous. The nose break was good and was the straight nose and chin of pleasing depth. The coat was of excellent quality, it was short, fine and close lying with a good pinkish toned lilac even in this light. The coat was a particular strong feature of this girl. The legs were fine and elegant and the tail was good for shape and length. A really attractive girl in this strong class.  Shown well.

3   FERGUSON'S TEAROHA BROWN BUTTONS 27  F 21.7.08

AV VISITORS ADULT

1  HAMILTON'S CH. JETSTAR REGAL QUEST 68 43asq F 23.10.06 A really lovely looking Tiffanie. I was impressed by her good Burmese looks and delicate legs and she did well in this class of five good adults.  A good head with good space between the ears with good gentle rounding on top and the ears were as much set on the sides as top. The ears had good shape and set with a lovely appealing forward tilt. The nose break was good and the nose itself was straight. The chin was of good depth. The eyes were really lustrous being large and of very good shape with excellent rounding to the bottom lid and with good curving to the upper lid. The body was quite firm and had good muscle tone. The legs were slimish and ended in neat trim spoon-shaped feet. I was impressed this girl and the only real criticism I have of her is that she was a little smaller for my liking. Presented so well.

Mr P Walsh

Many thanks to Isabel and the committee for the kind invitation to judge once again. Judy and I had a lovely weekend and many thank to all the exhibitors who showed their lovely cats.

BOB. MALONES CH. PURFIDELIS CARVED BYANGELS 27A F. Attractive girl with good weight and muscle, elegant limbs and neat oval paws. Her tail has good shape and just balances. She has a good short wedge, good nose break her nose showing a slight bump, and a level chin of good depth. She has typically expressive Burmese eyes, of good size, shape and set. Medium sized ears of the correct shape and set with a fair dome between. She has a short and close lying coat of the correct colour and showing some good silvering.
Class 401 lilac Burmese Adult.
1CC. HAMILTON’S KENNBURY INYANGA AYESHA 27C F. A lively and bright girl obviously enjoying the show. She is an elegant girl, with a strong and muscular feel. Her tail has good shape and balances well. She has a short wedge, good nose break and showing a very slight whisker pinch. (Possibly because she so alert.) She has bright yellow eyes of good size, shape and set. Medium sized ears which she tends to hold a little bit high on her head and a well rounded dome between. Her coat is soft and silky to the touch, just a little bit dull in colour, possibly due to hall lighting.
BOB VERLANDER’S GR CH HIGHLANDER HEAVENSENT 27C F. A strong and muscular girl with strong limbs and nicely shaped tail that balances well. She has a good short wedge, good nose break her nose showing a slight bump, and a good level chin. She has typically expressive Burmese eyes, yellow in colour and of good size, shape and set. She has medium sized ears with good width at the base and a well rounded dome between. Her coat is short and close lying, soft to the touch and good colour.
Class 405 AOC Tortie Burmese Adult.
1CC & BOB ADATEBU TIGER LILY 27H F. I would prefer her to a little bit larger however she does have good weight and muscle for her size. Her tail has good shape and balances well. Medium sized ears of the correct shape and set and nicely rounded dome between. She has a quality coat short and close lying with a very attractive blaze on her nose.
