Red male of huge size with a good cobby shape to his body, heavy bone and a short full tail.  His large head had good width between neat ears, round deep orange eyes, short broad nose with a deep break, almost level bite, fat cheeks and a strong chin.  He is just a touch heavy browed.  He had a full coat of sound rich red with a full ruff and long ear furnishings.  Res GR PR. BOYES’ GR CH & GR PR JERVO BLACKICE.  (1) 29/07/03.  Large Black cat with a lovely cobby shape to his body, heavy bone and a tail length in proportion.  He had a well rounded top of head with tiny ears set well apart, broad nose with a good stop, large round orange eyes, slightly undershot bite, fat cheeks and a good chin.  His good length soft coat is sound in colour and well presented. He ran the winner close on the day but I could only award one Grand.

White (Orange-Eyed) Adult:  BOB. STEWART’S GR CH LAZANE ON CLOUD NINE. (2a) 08/06/07. Orange-Eyed White male who was not entered in the open but deserved the best of breed. He has good type with an excellent cobby shape, good bone and a tail length in proportion.  Round head with neat ears set well apart, broad nose with a deep break, round eyes of mid orange, scissor bite, fat cheeks and a strong chin.  Full coat, soft, silky and well presented. The colour was a sparkling clean white.  Lovely to handle.

Exotic SH Self Adult:  BOB only STEPHENSON’S GR CH WESTHOLME MISSING LINK.  (70 1) 03/05/07.  Black Exotic of lovely type who was not in the open but deserved the best of breed.  He had a good cobby shape to his body with strong bone, excellent muscle and a tail length in proportion.  His rounded head had neat ears set well apart, round eyes of a deep orange colour, broad nose with a deep break, wide level bite, nicely rounded cheeks and a good chin.  His dense coat of sound deepest black was plush and stood out well from his body.  Lovely temperament.

Exotic SH Non-Self Kitten:  BROWN’S ACRESWAY GUCCI. (70/13b4) 23/08/08.  Really lovely Lilac Colourpointed Exotic female aged eight and a half months with excellent type.  Her body was well muscled with a cobby shape, good bone and a short tail.  She had a well rounded head with neat ears set well apart, broad snub nose, round mid blue eyes, a wide level bite, round cheeks and a strong chin.  Her dense coat was soft and stood out beautifully from her body.  Her body colour was a clear white with warm lilac points that all matched in colour.  She had an almost full mask to her face.  Lovely to handle.

Dr B Bennett

An enjoyable event ably piloted by Beryl & Judy.  My thanks to both and their team for the kind invitation and for their hospitality at the very pleasant Pyewipe.  I am also very grateful to Matthew Adair who stewarded most efficiently and proved also to be splendid company as well.

AC SIAMESE/BALINESE CHAMPION FEMALE. 1, GR CC. GREEN’S CH MAPU FIRENZE.  (24n) 2yrs 0mths. Superior lady with a most elegant, equilateral wedge set off by large ears, spaced and set precisely in line,  well shaped and inclined oriental eyes  of mid blue – the hall light seemed to bleach most eyes on the day.  Proud, smoothly arching profile, chin slopes back just a little, incisors meet. Long firm body, matching limbs, tail needs a little more to balance. Points of typical brownish grey, matching well,  very pleasing close lying, pale body for good contrast.  2, RES GR CC.  BROCK’S CH MEILLAND TRULY TEMPTING.  (32b1)  1yr 7mths.  Pleasing girl of good type. Excellent even wedge sporting well spaced ears showing well aligned flare. Oriental eye shape, colour could be deeper but after consideration of the light she got the benefit of the doubt.  Very good straight profile, excellent firm chin, level bite. Slender body and limbs, tail balancing, Good coat for texture, seal points well broken, by pale shades, contrasting softly shaded body     Also considered.  READ’S CH ADAJAN VANILLA SKYE  (61bt) 2yrs 8mths. Serious girl with a medium wedge on which ears that could be a mite larger are  well set and nicely spaced. Eyes a little open, smoky blue. Substantial body, matching limbs and tail. Coat slightly harsh textured especially on the plume, needing just a little more length and flow ideally; it shows good soft chocolate tabby markings, with very good pale ivory body for pleasing contrast.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER MALE.
1, GR PC.  HOCKEN’S PR EPITOME SUNDANCE.  (32a) 2yrs 5mths.  Lovely big long fellow of very good type. Excellent, even wedge head,  spaced ears, that he bonnets slightly when seriously pondering affairs, eyes of lovely incline, good blue shade. Profile shows a gentle angle at the brow, excellent depth of muzzle, good chin and bite that meets. Super long, body, firm and lithe, matching length of limb and very good tail for balance. Smooth coat shows lovely, bright, light red points with warm off white body tone for excellent contrast.  2, RES GR PC  UK GR PR HIGHIQ XTRAVAGANZA. (32 1) 3yrs 10mths.   As I have said before, this lad has the most beautiful wedge full face, long, elegant and well balanced, with large ears to complement it. Wonderful shape to his inclined almond eyes with a heart meltingly soulful  expression, and good depth of blue.  Profile not quite straight, little concave dish from  brow to nose leather, chin lines up, bite level.  Large strong body and limbs, tail matching.  Clear seal tabby pattern to the points, with warmth on the leg bars, tail rings now very dark. Body now very heavily and darkly shaded;  he was hiding his head under his blanket as we approached  and he looked to some for all the world like a self oriental. Also considered  BENNETT’S CH & PR DAZZLING SWEETALKING GUY. (32 8) 2yrs 1mth This boy was totally inhibited, determined to hide his very considerable lights under whatever bushel he could find. Very good even wedge, on which ears of good spacing and flare are well placed, oriental eyes of blue, profile almost straight, muzzle needing just a little more masculine strength ideally, chin acceptable, incisors level. Medium sized body, balancing limbs and tail. Very good, very lovely soft caramel tabby points, with good contrast to the smooth  body that shows a little toning shading. Seemed to have lost belief in himself, would have been placed higher had he been able to sell himself just a little.
ORIENTAL TORTOISESHELL ADULT FEMALE.   1. CC. BoB HIRST’S CH TOGHAR PASTICHE. (37h) 1yr 8mths. Well grown lady of very good type and coat. Wedge even and of medium length, perhaps just the hint of a pinch but minimal, ears well placed and flared and of good size, oriental eyes of olive green. Very good profile, strong chin, lower incisors curve very gently so middle ones are just forward, but the average is acceptable. Body strong but feminine, balanced limbs and tail, last vertebra just slightly expanded.  Coat texture good, lovely sound,  warm chocolate with excellent warmth to the red breaks. Self possessed and assured.
ORIENTAL SPOTTED TABBY MALE NEUTER.  1. PC BoB.  NELSON’S PR TIDDLYPOO JUSTIN TYME (38d) 3yrs 1mth. Strong lad of good type, shorter wedge, on which ears are placed well, could be slightly larger for preference, show good flare, eyes oriental in shape, green of good shade. Very good straight profile, firm chin, level bite. Strongly muscled body and limbs, tail matching. Coat in good condition, rich red tones in which tabby pattern is a little faint. Forehead lines are continuous over crown and down nape, breaking up over the shoulders; two broken necklets; spine line faint but appears broken, spotting on flanks shows a little linkage. Contrast could be better defined ideally.
CHOCOLATE POINTED MALE ADULT.  1. CC.BoB.  SIMPSON’S MYLYNN MATINEE IDOL.  1yr 3mths.  Very comely youth of good type. Medium long, even wedge sporting large ears, spaced and flared, eyes well shaped and blue good. Very  good straight profile, chin could be just a little stronger, bite meets, just scissored over. Body lithe and firm, balancing limbs, good tail length.  Good mid chocolate points, match well and show warmth, contrasting ivory body that shows a little soft matching shading. Needing just a little more masculine substance at present but very pleasing as an adolescent.
CHOCOLATE POINTED FEMALE ADULT.  1. CC. BROCK’S ADSETAM YOKIO SAN.  2yrs 3mths. A large girl with length, quite good type.  Wedge medium long and even, with ears open and well placed upon it; shaped eyes, just a little open, of good blue tone. Profile shows a little dip below the bridge, chin  strong but incisors touch.  Good long lithe body, slender limbs and lengthy tail to balance. Healthy glossy coat shows burnished chocolate to her points,  contrasting well to the body that shows areas of matching shading; mask not quite complete. In spite of her age and size, has just a hint of adolescent gaucheness about her still.

AV ORIENTAL NOT HAVING WON A CC  1. HELM’S FLOWERDEW MAGIQUE NOIRE. M. (37) 13mths 2wks.  Lady with a short little wedge head,  even, on which ears of quite good size are fairly well set. Eyes just a little short of the required green at present, but nicely shaped. Good straight profile, firm chin, gappy incisors. Neat well balanced body, limbs and tail in proportion. Very good coat texture, sleek and close, sound glossy unblemished black.
AV ORIENTAL BREEDER’S NEUTER.  1. NELSON’S PR TIDDLYPOO JUSTIN TYME. MN. (38d) 3yrs 1mth.
AV OORIENTAL NON BREEDER’S NEUTER.  1. DUNN’S PIPPASTRO MINNALOOSH. MN (62 43bs) 1yr 10mths.  Super type to this handsome gent. Very strong, even wedge head, beautifully balanced by large ears set in excellent alignment; excellent oriental eye shape, good green tone. Very good straight profile with the depth of muzzle I like, chin lines up, bite meets. Large strong body, limbs and feet, tail in balance. Coat of excellent silken texture and flow, well furnished plume. Excellent silver undercoat everywhere a little over half way up the hair shafts.  The shading is in good warm chocolate; on the body the coat is just marginally short and this throws the underlying tabby pattern  more into evidence than is ideal, but the overall picture is impressive. 2. HALLIDAY’S PR TOGHAR TERRACOTA. MN (37d) 1yr 8mths.  Very elegant lad of good type.  Head  very fine, excellent even wedge,  large ears showing complementary spacing and flare, light green oriental eyes, good straight profile, chin lines up, bite level. Slender body, proportionate limbs and tail, would like just a tad more masculine substance at this age for preference.  Lovely sound  red coat  with appropriately little tabby  in evidence.  X2 CRUDEN’S OOPSEEDEE MAKING WAVES. MN (41n) 9mths 3wks. Boy of splendid masculine development for his young age. Shorter even wedge on which ears are well placed though would prefer a little more size to them ideally, eyes oriental, soft olive green. Straight profile, firm chin, bite meets. Strong mature body and limbs, tail balancing. Super coat for texture, colour and contrast. Lovely even soft sheeny  caramel  with  good contrast to the ground,  and a creditable classic pattern. Clear triple spine lines, necklets broken and complete, defined tail rings, oysters clear and almost completely outlined, shoulder pattern could be a little more clearly developed.  3. LORD’S DRUIDSWAY BLACK PANTHER. MN (37) 11mths. Elegant boy but still a little immature. Long wedge, graced by large, fly away ears, Eye colour could be a clearer green ideally, but it is acceptable. Arching profile, chin slopes back rather, bite level. Slender body, long limbs, excellent long tail.  Coat of good short length and excellent texture, sound dense black.
2. AV ORIENTAL ADOLESCENT NEUTER.  1. LORD’S DUIDSWAY BLACK PANTHER. MN (37) 11mths.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE BREEDER’S ADULT.  1. READ’S CH ADAJAN VANILLA SKYE F. (61bt) 2yrs 8mth.  2 SIMPSON’S FLUTTERBY TELL-TALE TILLY. F (32b1) 1yr 11mths. Pleasing girl of good type. Even wedge, ears of good placing and flare, oriental blue eyes showing good oriental incline. Profile straight, chin lines up, bite just slightly undershot. Comely body, slender and lithe, limbs and tail matching. Coat texture fine, seal points showing pale breaks, some matching shading to the body.  3. HOWARTH’S MIYASAMA FREDDIES GIRL. F. (32b1) 9mths 1wk. Rather  a rude lady today, Wedge shorter and even, ears spaced and flared in line upon it, eyes of mid blue, good profile, chin lines up and incisors meet.  Neat little body with proportionate limbs and tail. Overall rather immature for her age, looking  very kittenish at present. Seal points, pale breaks, lovely clear body.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE VISITOR’S ADULT.  1. DEBOWSKA’S METEXA VIVA-LADIVA. FR. (32b3) 11mths 1wk. Elegant lass,  medium length wedge large ears well spaced and flared to flatter, eyes marginally open,  blue good.  Profile shows a very gentle dish, strong chin, bite just meets. Balanced body, limbs and tail, terminal vertebra shows a tiny curve. Coat of excellent texture, very good clear body contrasting with the warm chocolate points broken in pale shades.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE VISITORS KITTEN.  1. HIRST’S TOGHAR BY DESIGN. M (32 3) 5mths 4wks. Very well developed for his age. Good even triangular wedge on which large ears are well set and flared, good blue tone to his oriental eyes. Very good straight profile, firm chin, sabre canines, incisors meet. Long firm body, limbs and tail in keeping. Tabby points pattern developing in excellent milk chocolate shade, mask pencillings, whisker spots, leg bars and plentiful tail rings; excellent clear ivory body.   2. GRAY & JOHNSON’S TOGHAR MAID TOORDER. F (32 1) 5mths 4wks. Long lass of good type, even wedge, eyes just a little large, blue good, ears well placed and of good size, Profile shows a gentle angle above the brow, chin and bite satisfactory. Slender body, matching limbs and tail. Good soft seal tabby points, excellent clear contrasting body. 3. GREEN’S BELROO HONEYSUCKLE. F. (24n) 7mths 2wks

Slightly embattled senior citizen, who has a narrower wedge head with ears of mid size hollowing its lines upward, flashing almond eyes of blue, gently curving profile, chin that lines up; bite not examined. Body large and strong, matching limbs and tail. Coat of lovely texture short, fine and close, with excellent contrast between  the dense seal points and the body that though it shows a little matching shading,  retains a commendable degree of pallor.

HUMBERSIDE CAT CLUB SHOW 11 APRIL 2009 - MICHELE CODD
Many thanks to Judy and Beryl for inviting me to judge at Lincoln, and to Sarah Williams-Elliss for volunteering to steward - I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did, and look forward to another occasion.
AC Abyssinian, Cornish or Devon Rex, Korat or Russian Premier Male:
GPC ANDERSON'S CH & GR PR ANNALOVA LEONID, 16a, MN. Large chap, with a good short wedge showing lovely distinct whisker pads; in profile, he has a flat forehead, clear angle at the brow, quite a distinct nose break, firm chin. Eyes are almond in shape, pale green; ears are large and set slightly wide of vertical. Weighty body, good legs and tail. His coat is dense, fairly sound, with a good silvery sheen, fairly soft texture.
Female:
1 GPC Withheld WARRENER'S GR PR PERIBROOK SNOWDROP, 33a40/18, FN. Good short wedge with distinct whisker break; in profile, she has a flat forehead, only a slight dip at the nose, receding chin, unfortunately she is slightly undershot - this fault was confirmed by the Duty Vet. She has high cheekbones and slanting oval eyes, pale blue and expressive; her ears are fairly large and held quite low. Very good slender neck and body, good legs and oval paws, tapering tail. Her coat is short and soft, well curled on her back and legs, a bit straight on her tail.
Korat Adult Male:
1 CC NICHOLS' CH TINY GLAH HOO-A JY. A little unsettled today, he has a good heart-shaped head, with a broad, flat forehead; in profile, he has a slight stop, medium length nose with a slight bump, shallow and slightly receding chin, scissor bite. Eyes are good green colour, large and quite prominent; ears are large and set high. Solid body and muscular legs, tail slightly short to balance. Coat is fairly close-lying, well tipped with silver, shows a few faint tail rings.
Female:
1 CC BOB NICHOLS' GR CH NIKELSILVA LUNA, dainty girl, with a heart-shaped head and broad flat brow; in profile, she has a slight stop tipping down, nice short nose and level, slightly shallow chin. Very good large green eyes; ears set high and large. Balanced body, legs and tail. Coat texture is super - short, close-lying, shows slight silver tipping and very faint shadow tabby bars on the legs.
Russian Blue Kitten Male:
1 JOHNSONS' KASHYK CZAR DOMBROVSKI, gentle, nervous boy, with a short wedge showing slight whisker pads; in profile, his nose is rather straight, level chin. Eyes are rounded almond in shape, khaki colour at present; ears are fairly large, slightly wide of vertical - both his eye shape and ear set improved when he relaxed in his pen. Rather a plump body, good legs and tail. Coat is dense and soft, slightly unsound, with a pleasing silvery sheen, showing some ghost tabby markings on the tail.
Female:
1 BOB HARDYS' MACHIKA NINOTCHA, short wedge with distinct whisker pads; in profile, she has a slightly rounded brow still, a very slight concave dip at the nose, firm chin. Medium-large ears are set vertically; eyes are almond-shaped and good green colour. Balanced body, legs and tail. Coat is dense, just a little long but good soft texture; medium blue with a silvery sheen, fairly sound, shows some faint ghost tabby markings at present.
Russian Blue Neuter:
BOB ANDERSON'S CH & GR PR ANNALOVA LEONID, MN. 1 PC WAKEFIELD'S SITHEE JENNIEMAULVERN, FN. Short wedge with distinct whisker pods; in profile, she has a flat forehead, slight angle at the brow, concave dip at the nose, firm chin. Eyes almond in shape, with huge pupils so I couldn't assess the colour; ears medium in size, slightly wide of vertical. Good body, legs and tail. Coat is short, could be denser, has a good silvery sheen, not quite sound.
Korat Neuter:
1 PC BOB DAY'S MAIPENRAI DOC FLOWER, FN. Noisy girl, with a heart shaped head and broad brow; in profile, she has a slight stop, short nose tips down a little, firm chin. Eyes lustrous and large, still yellow in tone. Very good ear set and size. Very good body, legs and tail. Coat is short and close-lying, shows slight silvering and very faint ghost tabby marks.
AV Foreign Maiden Adult:
2 present. 1 BOWYER'S SILSILA WISHUPONASTAR, 23C, male, 1/1/08. Good width between large cupped ears that follow the lines of his moderate wedge, a slightly rounded muzzle formed by slight indentations. In profile, he has a gently rounded brow, very slight nose break, firm chin. Eyes are deep yellow in colour with a green outer rim, rounded almond shaped in an oriental setting. He has a muscular, lithe body of medium size; slender legs with oval paws; tail is fairly thick at the base, tapering and reaches his shoulder. Coat is short, fine but not soft in texture, with rather a pale, cold-toned base colour, but a pleasing pinkish mushroom on his tummy and inner legs, paler hair around his eyes and very pale hair on his chin and throat. The soft blue really needs more ticking - there appear no more than 2 bands of darker blue - but he shows a correct darker spine line down to a solid blue tail tip. The soles of his paws have solid blue hair, but it does not climb up his back legs far enough. He has well defined vertical marks from the inner edges of his eyes, but lacks clear horizontal lines from the outer edges of his eyes to his ears; 2 NICHOLS' PREFERE YOUNG DIVA, 72/42gq, female. Very short wedge; in profile, she has a stop, rather than a nose break, level chin. Eyes very good set and shape; ears are slightly too small, but very well set. Good body and legs, tail is a little too short and thick to balance. Coat is slightly too long and a bit open, good colours with a nice smoke undercoat, but lacking the drama needed in a good smoke, whose coat should lie close.
AV Foreign Visitors Kitten:
1 HARDYS' MACHIKA NINOTCHKA, 16a, female. 2 KINDELL & HAWTHORN'S GRIZABELLA LADY LYNDA, 33a36g, really short wedge, with a distinct stop and firm chin. Eyes are expressive, oval and slanting; large ears could be held a little lower. Balanced body, legs and tail. Coat is short, dense and fairly soft in texture, and she is well covered with curls; 3 BERNARDS' MIMAPERKS SOLITAIRE, 74e.
AV Foreign Assessment Kitten:
1 JONES' ICEGEMS BERLIOZ, 83aw, male. Pleasing head with good slightly rounded planes, I'd just prefer a firmer chin. Lovely deep blue walnut-shaped eyes, ears follow the lines of the wedge. Good body, legs and tail. Coat is resilient, soft blue points, with a very symmetrical V on his face, and a correct pattern, except for a white patch at the base of one ear. Sweet tempered boy; 2 JONES' ICEGEMS TOULOUSE, 83w, litter sister to the other kitten, with a slightly longer wedge, but otherwise very similar in type. She coat is a bit soft in texture, with some brindling on her tail and ears, and white patches extending onto her ears.
AC Burmese Adolescent Adult:
1 MATTHEWS' KATCHYN ORANGE BLOSSOM, 27d, female. Short wedge, very good nose break, firm chin. Lovely eye set, shape and gold colour; excellent ear set and rounded top of head. Balanced body, legs and tail. Coat has super texture - short, close lying - and good red colour. Feisty! 2 HAGUES' COBATEL ODYSSEUS INVELVET, 27f, male. Fairly short wedge, good nose break, level chin. Eyes look a little small at present, correct set and shape; excellent ear set, rounded top of head. Fabulous coat texture - close, short and glossy - very good powdered cream colour.
AC Burmese Senior Adult:
A seriously good class of 6. TEGG'S IMP GR CH BLOOMERS BARONESS BELCHAMP, 27j, super girl, with a short wedge, very good nose break, slightly shallow chin. Eyes lovely set & shape; excellent ear set and gently rounded top of head. Muscular, balanced body, legs and tail. Really lovely coat texture, good colours, clear; 2 PALLISTER'S GR CH PENWYNKATZ CREME DELIGHT, 27f, male. Purring boy, still a bit immature, but he has a lovely short wedge, very good nose break, level chin. Excellent eye set, shape and yellow colour; lovely ear set, slightly rounded top of head. Lacks weight on the loins as yet, good legs and tail. Coat excellent texture, good powdered cream colour, clear; 3 HERRINGTON'S CH TEAPOT TICKITTY BOO, 27j, female.
AC Burmese Debutante Kitten:
WILLMONT'S PENWYNKATZ SUNDAE SURPRISE, 27e, Short wedge, very good nose break rolls off slightly in profile, level chin. Very good eye set, shape and colour; excellent ear set and rounded top of head. Balanced body, legs and tail. Coat short, very good texture and colours, clear; 2 NICHOLS' PREFERE ALBUS DUMBLEDORE, 27c, male. Short wedge shows a slight pinch at present; in profile, he has a distinct nose break and level chin. Eyes very good set, shape and colour; excellent ear set and rounded top of head. Good weight for his age, balances legs and tail. Coat is a little woolly in texture still, very good pinkish-toned lilac colour; 3 MOFFATT'S KINDAT OPHELIA, 27, female.

Beautiful green eyes of very good set, shape and expression. Excellent body firmly muscled but elegant, slender limbs neat oval paws and a tapering tail almost to balance. Clearly caramel with a lovely metallic sheen developing particularly noticeable across the pattern. The latter is very good with near identical oysters, back tramlines, well defined facial and head markings. Distinct thumb prints, bars down to the toes, spotted tummy, butterfly could be clearer and a beautifully well ringed tail. Well coloured up the hocks and colour matching well throughout including tail tip. Near sound to the roots and virtually free from invasive agouti. Rather shy well presented in excellent condition.

SIAMESE TABBY POINT KITTEN FEMALE:
1 GRAY & JOHNSON’S TOGHAR MAID TOORDER (32 1) Siamese Seal Tabby Point 5 months 4 weeks.  Litter mate to the previous kitten and also well grown and of good type but not as stylish nor as finished, she was also a little tense – so I gave her time to relax. Pleasing head with a medium long even wedge. Good top between large open well placed ears. Good straight profile with a level bite and firm chin. Well set and shaped eyes of mid bright needing  a little further depth and intensity of colour. Elegant well proportioned and firm body with slender limbs and neat oval paws. Tapering tail just to balance. Lightly shaded cream coat is short and sleek. Tabby tracings of dark cool seal show a good clear “M”, thumb prints and spotted whisker pads. Mrs A Gregory

A relaxed and friendly show with warm hospitality; I would like to thank Beryl and Judy for the invitation to judge and for a most enjoyable, social time in Lincoln. I was also very grateful to Liz Benson for her hard work and excellent company as my steward; I hope we can work together again soon. I was privileged to judge Overall Best in Show; it was an excellent line-up. I gave the award to the most gorgeous British Black, a young male, Neale’s Positively Zambezi. He was of excellent type with beautiful copper eyes and a magnificent coat. I predict he has a promising future.
AC BIRMAN CHAMPION, MALE
1 GCC WHITBY’S GR CH SUCETTE PRINCE VALIANT, 13C4, M, 13.7.2007
A young male who was, nevertheless, of very good size and substance for his age. Very good type and balance overall and he is still developing. The head had breadth with medium ears set well apart. The cheeks were full and the muzzle well developed. Very good profile showing a slight dip and the chin had depth. Beautiful eyes that were large and almost round. Soft, gentle expression. Long body with a firm, muscular feel. Good legs and tail. Excellent coat quality that was silky and fine. Beautifully soft lilac points and showing excellent contrast to the magnolia body. Gloves well shaped as were the socks. The gauntlets squared off but were a reasonable length. Excellent condition and temperament.
RES: GARDINOR’S GR CH PANJANDRUM FUEGO, 13C5, M, 13.8.2000
A mature cat of very good type with breadth of head. Well set ears of medium size. The profile appeared to have a slight dip because there was a bump on the nose. Full cheeks and well developed muzzle. Good chin. Large eyes, almost round and a very good blue. Not such a gentle expression as the winner. Very good body, legs and tail. The coat was silky and well prepared. Rich red points and showing good contrast to the body. Good gloves and socks, but the gauntlets squared off. Excellent condition and temperament.
AC BIRMAN CHAMPION, FEMALE
1 GCC GARDINOR’S CH ATAKAD CUSTARD CREAM, 13c7, F, 28.12.2004
A mature female of very good type and balance who was very pretty and feminine with a sweet, gentle expression. The head had breadth with medium ears set well apart. Slight dip to the profile and good chin. Full cheeks and well developed muzzle. Large eyes, almost round and a good blue. Excellent body, legs and tail. Silky coat that was well presented. The points were a little hot in tone but the contrast was good. Very good gloves and gauntlets. Excellent condition and temperament.
2 (RES W/H)OGDEN’S CH MLYWARD VALENTINA, 13C1,F, 13.2.2007
This female was looking rather immature and I felt needed more time to develop before I would be prepared to award a Grand but she was pretty and feminine. She tended to hold her ears a little high until she relaxed in her pen. Very good eyes for shape, colour and expression. Tiny bump on the nose. Good chin. Body length in proportion to her size as were her legs. Good tail. Beautiful coat quality with dense, warm seal points and lovely contrast to the body which was a clear, pale but warm beige. Gloves marginally low. Good socks and gauntlets. Excellent condition and temperament.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER, MALE – two exceptional Neuters, it was difficult to choose as they both had such charming temperaments, but in the end I had to penalise the lack of contrast on the Tabbypoint.
1 IGP MUSSON’S GR PR MEILLAND MY KINDA GUY, 24, MN, 29.6.2006
An elegant, handsome Sealpoint neuter with style, elegance and charm. Excellent type and balance overall. The wedge was long and well proportioned with width between the ears; it narrowed in straight lines to a fine muzzle. The ears were large and set well apart to follow the lines of the wedge. They were wide at the base. Almost straight profile and good chin. Beautiful eyes of oriental shape and set; they slanted towards the nose and were set well apart. Wicked expression belied by his charming nature. Elegant neck. Long, svelte body with fine legs and a whip tail of excellent length to balance. Excellent warm seal points and showing excellent contrast to the pale but warm beige body. The coat was very short, fine and close-lying. Excellent condition and temperament, he was confident and proud.
RES: SHAWLEY’S UK GR PR HIGHIQ XTRAVAGANZA, 32/1, MN, 18.5.2005
A really handsome cat of excellent type and style; very well balanced and oozing charm! Excellent wedge with even lines and large, well set and pricked ears to complete the triangle. Excellent eye shape, set and  colour. Strong profile and good chin. Excellent elegant neck and head carriage. Long, fine body with firm muscle tone. Excellent legs and tail. Short, close coat that was close lying. Well defined tabby points but unfortunately he was lacking contrast and I could not overlook that, especially as he was up against such a handsome seal. Wonderful condition and temperament.
SP BIRMAN ADULT
1 CC + BOB OGDEN’S CH MLYWARD VALENTINA, 13C1,F, 13.2.2007
BP BIRMAN ADULT
1 CC + BOB GARDINOR’S ATAKAD AIMIN HIGH, 13C2, M, 1.7.2008
Young Birman male who was very promising, of very good type and a lovely size and weight for his age. The head had breadth and balance with medium ears set well apart. Full cheeks and well developed muzzle. Slight dip in the profile and good depth to the chin. Large eyes, almost round; a very good blue and with a typically soft, gentle expression that was so appealing. Very good body, legs and tail. Silky coat that was beautifully presented. Medium blue points and showing excellent contrast to the glacial body. Neat gloves and gauntlets. Excellent condition and temperament.
AC BI-COLOUR RAGDOLL ADULT
1 CC + BOB HASSETT’S HAPPYTYME MISS BEHAVING, 66 31A, F, 3.3.2008
Young female who is developing well. Excellent head type with correct profile and retroussé nose. Flat plane to top of head and well set ears. Full cheeks and muzzle developing well. Beautiful eyes of excellent shape and colour. Very good body, legs and tail. Firm muscular feel and very well boned. Her ruff needs to develop so she was looking rather “exposed” but nevertheless, she had excellent coat quality. Very well marked except for a tiny spot on the left hock. Excellent condition and temperament.
2 HARRISON’S CHEHAM ANDROMEDA, 66/31A, F, 17.6.2008
Another young female with good type and balance overall. She was a good size and bone with a firm, muscular feel to her. Attractive face with a flat plane between the ears, full cheeks and good muzzle Beautiful eyes of good blue. Well shaped white chevron. Good body, legs and tail. Lovely silky coat texture, but she lacked the presentation of the winner and the fur was very greasy around the ears and separated. Well marked although she had a small blue spot on the right hock. Excellent condition and temperament but please take care with the grooming.
AC COLOURPOINTED/MITTED RAGDOLL, MALE
1 CC + BOB PULLEN’S DIZZIPAWS ZEMO, 66AW, M, 12.4.2008
A really handsome young male of impressive type, size and substance. Excellent broad head with a flat plane and width between the medium ears. The latter were set wide apart with a slight forward tilt and were well furnished. Well developed cheeks and muzzle. Very good profile showing a gentle dip and firm chin. Large, expressive eyes with a slightly oblique setting and a very good blue. Short neck and long, muscular body with medium length legs that showed substantial boning. Large, round, tufted paws. Long bushy tail to balance. Excellent markings. His mittens flicked very slightly but his type and imposing appearance in one so young more than compensated. Beautifully presented, his silky coat was dense with pale blue matching points and glacial contrast. White chin, bib, chest and underparts and the back legs were white. Excellent condition and temperament. I feel he has great potential.
2 HASSETT’S HAPPYTYME TUMBLERAG, 66AW, M, 31.3.2008
Another handsome young male who was impressive and very unlucky to meet the winner. Very good head and expression Well set ears and eyes of a good blue. Gentle dip to the profile although the chin did slope away which affected the strength of the muzzle. Excellent body, legs and tail. Very good coat quality and presentation. Well marked. Good blue points and showing lovely contrast. Excellent temperament and condition.
AC COLOURPOINTED/MITTED RAGDOLL, FEMALE
1 CC/WH HARRISON’S DOLLYBROOKE DAKOTABLUE, 66A, F, 9.4.2008
A young female with fairly good type and expression although she needs more time to mature. The muzzle was a little weak. Body, legs and tail were also immature and she looked “not ready” for the adult class. Dark blue points and shady body. The coat was not presented well and she was really greasy around the ears.
2 HARRISON’S VALLEY CAT TYGER-ROSE, 66TW, F, 9.7.2008
Young female who was not of show type in my opinion. The head was too round and she had a straight profile. The medium ears were held high and needed more width between them. The head lacked breadth and the muzzle was not developed.  The tabby points were well defined but the body was very shady. She lacked preparation and presentation.
AC TURKISH VAN KITTEN
1 + BOB JOHNSON’S AKDAMAR TAZI, 13dod, M, 29.10.2008
A really handsome and impressive Turkish kitten presented to perfection and looking very promising. The wedge has breadth that is developing well. Medium nose with a very slight dip to the profile. The ears were quite large, set fairly high and well feathered. Large, oval eyes with one a clear blue and the other a light amber. Muscular body with a deep chest, he is developing well and has medium legs with very good boning. The tail balanced well and formed a full brush. Excellent that was silky and chalk white. Excellent head markings of bright auburn with a white blaze between them. The tail was auburn with the colour ending at the base. Excellent condition and superb temperament – he is one to watch!
SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON KITTEN
1 + BOB SPENCE & RUST’S LIONMAINE MUSTANG SALLY, 64/41SW, F, 28.10.2008
A very pretty female with lovely size, muscle and boning for her age. Medium length head with a square muzzle and good chin. Large ears, wide at the base and tapering to tufted tips. They were set high but she tended to hold them a little wide. Very expressive eyes that were full and round with a slightly oblique setting. Fairly full cheeks and high cheekbones. Her profile was rather straight with a slight bump to the tip of the nose. Excellent body, legs and tail. Excellent coat texture that is developing well. AC COLOURPOINTED/MITTED RAGDOLL KITTEN
1 BOB/WH HARRISON’S DOLLYBROOKE CASPERSHADOW, 66T, F, 16.8.2008
This kitten was of fair type. The head was too rounded at the top, I would expect the flat plane to be there at 7 months. Medium ears set well apart. The eyes were a little too round but a good colour. In profile she needed a slight dip and a retroussé tip. Good body, legs and tail. Well defined tabby points but the coat was far too shady. Lacking presentation.
SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON NEUTER
1 PR WHALE’S FURRNANDO TORRES, 64.41S, MN, 10.3.2008
A big friendly Coon who was of good type, substance and balance. Strong head of medium length with a square muzzle that could be a little broader to balance the width between the ears. The latter were large, wide at the base and tufted at the tips. He held them really wide when he was on the trolley, but they were very much better when he was relaxed in the pen. Expressive eyes that were full and round with an oblique setting. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve at the bridge. Strong neck. Long, rectangular body that was muscular and strong. Substantial legs with large, round, tufted paws. The tail was wide at the base and tapered towards the tip but could have an inch or so more for balance. Good coat quality and he was well presented. Clear classic tabby pattern. Some tarnish on the face and paws. Excellent condition and temperament.
BLUE ABYSSINIAN ADULT
1 CC/WH BOWYER’S SILSILA WISHUPONASTAR, 23C, M, 1.1.2008
Good type overall but I felt his muzzle was a little fine and “foxy”. Moderate wedge with gently rounded contours to the top of the head. The ears were large, cupped and set well apart. They followed the lines of the wedge. Slight nose break when viewed in profile but the chin could be firmer. The eyes were set well apart, rounded almond in shape and in an oriental setting. Elegant neck. The body was of medium length with a firm, lithe feel. Straight back and rounded rib cage. Slender legs and neat oval paws. The tail was of balanced length, thick at the base and tapering. The coat was short, fine and very resilient. Warm blue with a pale mushroom base and defined ticking. There was white on the whisker pads and it did extend down the neck to the throat. For that reason I withheld the certificate. Very good condition and temperament.
SORREL ABYSSINIAN NEUTER
1 PR + BOB KAYE’S SILSILA BEOWULF, 23A, MN, 24.3.2008
A muscular, lithe Sorrel of good type and balance overall. Moderate wedge with large, well cupped ears set well apart. The top of the head showed gentle rounded contours. Excellent eyes of rounded almond shape; they were set well apart with an oriental slant. Very good profile showing a slight break and the chin had depth. He did tend to puff his whisker pads which gave the impression of a pinch, but when they were smoothed down all was well. There was a slight indentation to form the slightly rounded muzzle. Elegant neck. Excellent lithe, muscular body of moderate build with a straight back and rounded rib cage. Beautiful coat that was short, fine and resilient. Rich copper colour made up of a bright apricot base ticked with chocolate. It had a healthy gloss and was very impressive. Excellent condition and temperament.

1CC  HAGUE’S COBATEL ODYSSEUS INVELVET   M  27f   (11.7.8)  Young lad with promise who needs to fill out and mature.  Unfortunately he was extremely nervous and was not showing himself to his best advantage.  I understood from his owner afterwards that it was his first daunting show! BOB to PALLISTER’S GR CH PENWYNKATZ CRÈME DELIGHT   27F  M  (15.10.6)   What a lovely natured entire chap!  Gently rounded top of head. Nice size ears well set with correct forward tilt.  Short wide wedge.  Expressive eyes set well apart, of good shape and size (when he decided to open them as he was so laid back!)  yellow in colour.  Flat brow.  Good nose break.  Small bump on nose, firm chin level bite.  Rangy body of good weight and muscle tone.  Strong legs and oval paws.  Tail of good shape, paintbrush tip, just balances.  Coat is a little open, but it was cold in the hall in the morning, and not helped by the fact that he was so excited at being cuddled!   Good texture.  The poor hall light was not doing his coat any favours, but in the natural day light, his coat was a nice even cream, with good powdering.  Clear coated, and a broken necklace.  Super temperament, licked and kissed us to death – an absolute charmer!  Well presented.

Mrs C Lewis

My sincere thanks to those two lovely ladies, Beryl and Judy, Show Managers of the Humberside who very kindly invited me for the first time to judge at this year’s show. My steward was my good friend Ruth Fish, who also ran me back and forth to the train station and provided accommodation for which I am extremely grateful! Stewards work very hard during a show and often get very little recognition for all their efforts. So Ruth-my very grateful thanks!

I had some lovely cats to judge and my apologies to some of the exhibitors to whom I was unable to talk to after I finished judging. Unfortunately by the time I had completed judging the Burmese Best of Variety, I had very little time to get to the train station to catch my connection to return home to South Wales.

Special mention must go to my Best of Variety winner Pat Tegg’s Imp Gr Ch Bloomers Baroness Belchamp- a beautiful girl with lovely style and presence. Also I must congratulate Judy and Emma Matthews on their handsome boy Gr Ch Katchyn Coco Loco being made up to Imperial today! Well done to all concerned.

BURMESE IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION, MALE.  2 entered. IGC MATTHEW’S GR CH KATCHYN COCO LOCO (27b) M 17.2.06. Handsome lad who preferred the safety of his pen but who graciously allowed himself to be judged and admired. Very nice head with a short wide wedge with good width at the cheeks and tapering to a blunt wedge at the muzzle. In profile there is an excellent nose break, straight nose and level chin. Ears are medium in size and have the correct shape and set. Eyes are large and lustrous and have a wonderful Burmese expression. Body of very good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Tail of good shape and length. Presented in very good condition and a pleasure to judge and award this high certificate. I was very pleased to hear later that this made him up to an Imperial. Many congratulations indeed to his breeders and owners!
RES IGC PALLISTER’S GR CH PENWYNKATZ CRÈME DELIGHT (27f) M 15.10.06. Very happy lad who clearly enjoyed all the attention. Head has a short wide wedge. In profile there is a good nose break, nose straight though just a touch long. Level chin. Ears of medium size with the correct shape and set. Eyes are large and lustrous but just set a touch on the horizontal. Very nice coat short and close lying with a lovely bloom. Body of good size just needing a touch more muscle on the flanks-clearly a working lad. Presented in good condition and easy to handle. Unlucky to come up against the winner today.

BURMESE IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION, FEMALE. 2 entered. IGC TEGG’S IMP GR CH BLOOMERS BARONESS BELCHAMP (27j) F 17.6.06. What a super lady! Head has a very nice short wide wedge tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Ears are medium in size with the correct shape and set. Eyes are large and lustrous with the correct shape and set having a slant on the upper line and a gentle curve on the lower giving rise to a super Burmese expression. In profile there is a very good nose break and straight nose which just falls off towards the tip. Level chin. Very good size for age feeling firm and muscular. Tail of good length and shape ending in a paintbrush tip. Coat short and close lying and a pretty intermingling of tortie colours. Presented in excellent condition, very friendly and happy to be handled and admired. An absolute pleasure to award her an Imperial certificate and later in the day I was delighted to make her Best of Variety Burmese!
RES ICG SMITH’S GR CH MACHIKA CALLEIGH (27c) F 14.6.05. Another old favourite of mine who was unlucky to come up against the winner today who was in top form. Head has a very nice short wide wedge tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Ears are medium in size, broad at the base, gently rounded tips and in profile have the desired slight forward tilt. Eyes are large and lustrous with the correct shape and set giving rise to a super Burmese expression. Tail of good shape and just balances for length. Body feels firm and muscular-I would just like her to be a little larger is size for preference. Presented in very good condition and although a little shy, handled well and was a pleasure to judge. Two very nice girls indeed!

LILAC BURMESE ADULT, MALE. 1 entered. 1CC MATTHEW’S RAEBURASI MARULA (27C) M. 8.12.07. What a laid-back lad! He was so relaxed and content that he lay back in our arms-happy as Larry-and when placed back in his pen, promptly rolled over and went straight back to sleep! Very nice head with a super short wide wedge, wide at the cheeks and tapering gently to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Top of head is gently rounded with medium sized ears placed well apart. In profile I would prefer a little more nose break for preference. Nose is short and straight. Level chin. Eyes-when he could be bothered to open them-have the correct shape and set giving rise to a very nice Burmese expression. Body of excellent weight for size feeling very firm and muscular. Tail of good length and shape ending in a paintbrush tip. Very nice short and close lying lilac coat. Presented in very good condition and an utter softy when being handled. I was delighted to hear later that this certificate made him up to Champion. Many congratulations to his very proud breeder and owners! A delight to assess.

LILAC BURMESE ADULT,FEMALE. 2 entered, 1 for BOB only. 1 CC WILSON’S KATZAKIORA TEHYA TABITHA (27c) F. 9.2.08. What a wriggler! Head has a short wide wedge tapering to a broad finish at the muzzle. In profile there is a good nose break, straight though a touch long nose. Level chin. Ears are medium/large in size with the correct shape and set. Eyes are large and lustrous and of very good shape and set giving rise to a lovely Burmese expression. Good size to body feeling firm and muscular. Tail of good length and shape though there was just a suspicion of a tension at the tip which may have been due to her mood. Very nice coat which is short and close lying. Presented in very good condition.

BOB SMITH’S GR CH MACHIKA CALLEIGH (27c) F 14.6.05

BROWN BURMESE KITTEN, FEMALE. 2 entered. 1 & BOB WILSON’S KATZAKIORA MISS MONEYPENNY (27) F. 2.11.08. Sweet little girl enjoying all the attention. Head has a short wide wedge. Good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Tail of good length and shape ending in a paintbrush tip. Still has her kitten coat with some smudges on the limbs. Presented in very good condition and friendly and easy to handle.  2 MOFFATT’S KINDAT OPHELIA (27) F. 17.8.08. Another calm girl but not up to the same standard as the winner. Head has a reasonably short wedge with a teething pinch at present. Ears are held rather high on the head. In profile the nose break is not typical of a Burmese with a poor, uneven nose break. Nose has a roman-style bump and roll off. Eyes are a little rounded in shape and lacked Burmese expression. Body a little light for age. Tail of good shape and length. Coat reasonably short and close lying and a glossy seal brown in colour. Happy to be handled.

MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES

AC BURMESE NON-BREEDERS ADULT. 3 entered. 1 SMITH’S GR CH MACHIKA CALLEIGH (27c) F 14.6.05. 2 MATTHEW’S RAEBURASI MARULA (27C) M. 8.12.07. 3 WILLMONT’S ADVERSANE ANGUS (27d) M. 1.8.07.

AC BURMESE LIMIT ADULT. 2 entered. 1 WILSON’S KATZAKIORA TEHYA TABITHA (27c) F. 9.2.08. 2 MATTHEW’S KATCHYN ORANGE BLOSSOM (27d) F. Feeling very shy when out of her pen being judged but much happier when back in her pen where she then proceeded to purr happily at us! Very nice type and having a beautiful coat. Ran the winner very close and just lost out as the winner had a slightly better profile. A very promising young lady.

AC BURMESE NON-BREEDERS KITTEN. 2 entered. 1 WILLMONT’S PENWYNKATZ SUNDAE SURPRISE (27e) F. 24.8.08. Shy young lady. Head has a short wide wedge tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle.  In profile there is a good nose break, straight nose and level chin. Good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Tail of good length and shape ending in a paintbrush tip. Coat reasonably short and close lying given her age. I did look long and hard at a couple of rather pale patches on her chest and between her hind legs but as the hall lighting was so poor, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Presented in good condition. 2 MOFFATT’S KINDAT OPHELIA (27) F. 17.8.08.

AC BURMESE DEBUTANTE NEUTER. 1 entered. 1 TURNER’S BAZAPAW SUMMER SKY (27j) FN 21.3.08.

AV/AC BURMESE CAT,KITTEN OR NEUTER. 2 entered, 1 absent. 1 AKEHURST’S GR CH CHIARO LUMINOSO (27j) FN. 6.12.05. Rather a plump looking lady-clearly enjoys her food! Head has a short wide wedge. In profile I would prefer a little more depth to the nose break and the nose although straight is a touch long. Eyes of the correct shape and set giving rise to a nice Burmese expression. Tail a little thick in shape and a tad short to balance. I just loved the imperious looks she gave her neighbours when out of the pen!

AV FOREIGN NON-BREEDERS ADULT. 9 entered, 1 absent, 2 CNH. 1 COPLEY’S KEVONA SIMPLYAPERFECT END (68 43 csq) BCR Lilac Silver Shaded Tiffanie. M. 19.3.08. Large, substantial young lad of good weight for size feeling firm and muscular. Gently rounded chest, straight back and medium slender legs though ideally I would prefer the legs to be a touch more slender. Paws are medium/large in size. Tail of good shape and length when brought gently around to the shoulder. Head has a short wide wedge with good width at the cheeks and tapering to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Ears are medium/large in size, broad at the base, gently rounded at the tips and follow the contours of the head giving a butterfly effect. In profile they have the desired slight forward tilt. Also when viewed in profile there is a good nose break and straight nose-though just a touch long. Chin recedes a little. Eyes are reasonably large and lustrous though for perfection I would like them just a little larger. They are a pale chartreuse in colour and have the correct shape and set with a slight curve on the upper line and a more rounded curve on the lower giving rise to a nice Asian expression. Coat has a fine and silky texture and is medium-long in length. The coat lies flat along the spine and then lengthens down the body to form the typical Tiffanie fringe or frill along the lower edges of the body. Reasonable plume of a tail though for preference I would have preferred it to have been slightly more full and ruff and ear furnishings are still developing. Colour is registered as BCR lilac however, I did have some reservations as to me, rather than a mantle of pale dusky dove grey that I would expect with this colour, the coat appeared to be a slightly brownish grey with some warm honeyish tone to it suggesting he might be a BCR Caramel. However, the lighting at the show was not at all helpful, being rather yellowish in tone with lots of shadows and it was not possible to view him in good daylight. I therefore gave him the benefit of the doubt and look forward to seeing him again in future to see how the colour is developing. Good, even undercoat of pristine silver. Presented in good condition and although not particularly happy, was reasonably easy to handle.

Many thanks to Judy, Beryl and their team for a wonderful 25th Anniversary Show and for finding my steward Liz Prescott who I hope to work with again the very near future.
AC PERSIAN ADOLESCENT ADULT. 1 HIGGINS’ ALINDAS BAM BAM
Just on 10 months this most handsome Black and White boy has short broad open type with bold clear eyes showing a deep orange which gives him a soft kind look. His ear set is just where it should be and match his fat wide cheeks to perfection. Deep chin and neat dentition complete his very Persian look. His big well presented coat covered a square low to the ground body set on the thickest of well bred bone.
2nd THORPES’ CLANDELIA PRINCE CHARMING.  Days away from his first birthday I found this Cream Smoke boy very much to my liking. Wonderful spherical head shape and neat wide ear set. Fat full cheeks and deep chin. Large expressive eyes that are the deepest colour possible. Big round eyes of a very nice blue with short button nose but for preference I would have liked a larger leather to balance her face. Full cheeks, round and plump with lovely bite and a deep firm. Cobby body with an expertly groomed pale coat with super red even points colouring and a big flowing red tail.

Mrs S Rose

Congratulations to the Club on its 25th anniversary.  It was a very happy occasion and I enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of it.  My thanks to Mrs Beryl Rawnsley and Mrs Judy Walsh for the invitation to judge and to all involved for the excellent hospitality.  I was lucky to have the support of Faye Turner who stewarded for me.  For your efficiency and gentle handling of the cats Faye, my sincere thanks.  I hope we can work together again.
ASIAN (TIFFANIE) ADULT MALE  1 entered.  1 CC BOB  COPLEY’S KEVONA SIMPLYAPERFECT END  (68 43csq)  12 months 3 weeks.  A large, strong, magnificent boy with a heavy, well muscled feel to his body.  Legs appear a little thick, medium, rounded paws.  Tail just long enough though looking a trifle out of balance as it is sparsely plumed at present.  Fairly short wedge, gently rounded over the wide top of head with medium ears continuing the outer facial contours.  Large, yellow, widely placed eyes showing the straighter upper line with more fullness in the lower line.  In profile head shows generous depth, definite nose break on a slightly long nose, deep chin set back just a little.  Silky soft coat, well prepared to flow down the body, medium length, fine, lying flat over the back.  Signs of a developing ruff and breeches, streamers in the ears.   Coat colour beautiful and subtle, I felt it was rather warm in tone for a Burmese expression lilac, also the colouring on the top of the head appeared to shade showing a caramel tone however the hall lighting was not kind to coat colours so I gave this boy the benefit of the doubt.  Sparking silver undercoat with  fairly heavy shading.  A pleasing boy to handle, just a little impatient to be put back in his pen.  FEMALE  1 entered.  1  CC  NICHOLS’ COOMAKISTA SOMELIKE ITHOT  (68 43dsq)  4 years 10 months.  A well behaved girl with a look of the early days of the first Asians.  Medium sized body of fair weight and muscle, legs of moderate length just a little thick, medium, rounded paws.  Tail of good length for balance, well plumed.  Head is short, blunt in the muzzle, rounded over the top between small ears which fit into the sides of the head.  Large eyes, pale, clear green with a hint of blue when seen in her pen.  In profile very definite nose break and level, deep chin.  Coat has a soft feel but is somewhat dense needing more preparation on the underparts, an attractive pale red lightly tipped over a silver undercoat.  This girl did have some faults making me think hard about awarding a CC.  She was a treat to handle.
DEVON REX KITTEN FEMALE  3 entered.  1  KINDELL & HAWTHORN’S GRIZABELLA LADY LYNDA  (33a36g) 8 months 1 week.  Trim, dainty lady with a feminine appearance, firmly muscled, broad across the chest, standing tall on long legs leading to small, oval feet.  Tapering tail could be just a touch longer for balance.  Slender neck leads to short, broad, wedge shaped head with high cheek bones, firm muzzle, definite whisker break.    In profile forehead is flat above a curving brow, nose is short and with a strong stop, minimal bump on nose, chin could be a touch firmer.  Top of head flat between large tufted ears, wide based and low set, enhanced by ear muffs.  Lovely shape to the eyes giving a delightfully mischievous expression, large and oval in shape with an upward sweep of the outer corner towards the ear base.  Coat is evenly short over the body, soft to the touch and gently waving, the rexing continuing well down the legs and on the tail, shorter on the belly.  Eyebrows and whiskers short, stubby and crinkled.  Subtle coloured coat showing pale shades of blue and cream well mingled.  An intriguing girl looking so demure while in her pen but really displaying the desired ‘wicked look’ while being assessed.  A joy to handle.  2  HOOLE’S REXTACULAR FIZZY LIZZY  (33a20)  8 months 2 weeks.  Another superb kitten making my choice of placing for the first 2 interestingly difficult.  Medium/large, slender body feeling very well muscled, (well, she was exercising the whole time we were with her!)  Broad chest, long slim legs, longer at the rear, small, oval paws, long, tapering tail.  Slender neck carrying a short, wide, wedge shaped head with high cheek bones, definite whisker break.  Flat, wide top of head between large ears with rounded, tufted tips, broad base and set low.  Profile shows a definite stop on a short nose, deep, level chin.  Most expressive, oval eyes, large, placed wide apart and showing a slant towards to outer ear base.  Overall, a lovely impression of the desired ‘wicked look’.  Very short coat with a soft texture waving over the body, tighter curling on upper legs and tail.  Shorter coat and less waving on lower part of legs, neck, tum and top of head. Short, stubby whiskers.   Smart tabby markings include dark tail tip and hocks, leg stripes, eye liner and facial pencilling.  An entertaining character, she didn’t stop wriggling the whole time we were with her, alert, eager and fun to handle. 3    EDMOND’S CHARNFIELD CHEECHAQUA  (33a27x)  5 months 1 week.  A sweet lass with some pleasing features.  Body appears dainty yet has a firmly muscled feel and good weight for her medium size.  Chest is broad, legs long and slender leading to small, oval feet, tail of medium length, tapering towards the tip.  Neck is slender holding a short, wedge shaped head with high cheek bones.  Flat top of head; full face the chin appears firm though in profile it seems to fall back a touch, minimal stop slightly stronger viewed from her left.    I would have liked more definition in the whisker break and a lower base to the large ears.  Pale blue eyes are large, oval in shape and placed on a slight slant..  At this stage the soft, short coat shows slight waving on the back, tail and legs, near white on the body with dark brown points.  A friendly lass with a gentle disposition.
BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL  KITTEN  MALE 1 entered.  1 HALLIGAN’S MUMANDACATS KUBLA KHAN  15 weeks.    Long, sleek body not yet feeling firmly muscled, medium length legs longer at the rear with rounded, medium sized paws.  Tail is long, slightly fine and tapering.  Cheek bones high on a rounded wedge shaped head, well defined whisker pads, broad nose though as yet without the desired puffed nose leather.  Ears large however they continue the outer lines of the face, round tipped, held slightly high.  Rounded almond shape to the large eyes, a muddy tone at present.  In profile nose shows a gentle dip below a gently curving brow.  Firm chin.  Fairly short coat, soft texture showing good contrast between the pale gold ground colour with gold dusting and the black and dark brown of the markings.  Spots show a variety of sizes well defined, very clear black leg markings and tail rings.  Facial M and cheek pencilling dark brown, also chin strap and broken necklaces. Most body spots show a darker outline with brown infill.   This boy is still very young and appears to be developing at different rates over his body giving him an immature   look, it will be interesting to see  him as he develops.       Female  1 BOB HALLIGAN’S MUMANDACATS MAMMA MIA (76 30)  8 months.  Sister of the above, showing greater maturity.  Body is long and well muscled with a sleek appearance, a little taller at the rear, long tail of medium thickness tapering slightly to a rounded tip.  Legs of moderate length with medium sized, rounded paws.  Head appears small in proportion to the body size and shows a ‘wild’ expression, slightly longer than wide, fairly well defined whisker pads and puffed nose leather on a broad nose.  Ears somewhat large and facing forward, just set a little more on the top than on the sides of the head.  Large, rounded oval eyes, clear yellow tone.  Viewed from the side nose shows a gentle dip, I would have liked a little more depth in the head.  Coat is short and very soft, a cool, grey/gold base showing the required gold dusting and clearly contrasting with the black and very dark brown of the pattern.  Base coat shows greater warmth on the front legs, face and spotted belly.  Very clearly defined   M on head, vertical lines going up and over, attractive streaks on shoulders and legs.  A friendly girl, alert and responsive.  ASIAN SMOKE OR BURMILLA NEUTER  for BOB only.  BOB KEMP’S GR PR NATZKATZ IRISH-CREAM  (72 43nsq)  1 year 10 months.  An impressive, large and well muscled lad with legs and paws in proportion to balance, tail just a little short.  Features on the wedge shaped head show a generous, alert expression.  Short and fine, soft coat, beautifully presented in a lightly shaded, warm toned  fawn with a paler base, more depth of colour on the head.  A lovely, affectionate temperament.
BURMESE BROWN ADULT FEMALE  1 entered.  1  WARD’S ADATEBU LADY CASSANDRA  9 months.  This young lass appeared anxious, this may have prevented her from looking her best.  Body of fair size and weight for her age, a little plump in the tum, slim legs with small, oval feet, tail of correct thickness though short for balance.  Head of medium length and width, flat over the dome, medium/large ears held slightly high.  Large, clear yellow eyes, somewhat rounded, however widely placed.  In profile good depth in the head and definite nose break on a nose rolling off a little at the tip, deep chin set back a touch.  Mid brown coat, fairly short and showing faint bars on the legs, however it was the texture which let her down today, the coat felt sticky rather than fine and glossy.  Well behaved and gentle but not too happy.  I was sorry to with-hold the CC but her coat quality and facial features did not appear typically Burmese today.
RED ADULT MALE  1 entered.  1  WILLMONT’S ADVERSANE ANGUS  1 year 8 months.  A friendly boy of good size, weight and muscle, looking a little thin on the flanks, legs and feet in good proportion.  Short, wedge shaped head with rounded dome, medium sized ears with rounded tips.  His eyes did look small and slightly deep set  at first however he did open them briefly and they appeared fuller, set well apart, yellow chartreuse.  Profile shows fair depth in the skull, definite nose break though the nose falls away a little at the tip, fairly deep chin is level.  Moderately short coat feeling a little harsh, pale tangerine, brighter in tone on the spine line and head.  A few tabby marks on the forehead.  I guess from his coat and general body condition that this is a working boy.  He has a lovely, gentle nature.
FEMALE  1 entered.  1 CC B0B  MATTHEWS’ KATCHYN ORANGE BLOSSOM  12 months 4 weeks.  Such a character and with a typically Burmese determined expression!  Body is heavy, elegant and well muscled with a tail of correct thickness and length, gently  rounded at the tip.  Broad, blunt, wedge shaped head with gently rounded dome between medium ears which continue the outer lines of the face and tilt forward.  Golden yellow eyes showing the required straight slant to the upper line with rounded lower line, placed well apart.  Generous depth to the head in profile, acceptable nose break, firm chin.  Very short, fine coat presented in excellent condition, a clear, bright tangerine, even overall, just a few faint facial markings and a broken necklace.  A super girl, a credit to the breed in type, coat and intriguing temperament.
BROWN TORTIE KITTEN  1 entered.   BOB WILLMONT’S PENWYNKATZ SUNDAE SURPRISE  7 months 2 weeks.  A confident girl at ease in the show situation.  Firmly muscled body, heavier than her elegant appearance would indicate, slender legs leading to small, oval feet, tail appears a little thick at this stage.  Head has a wedge shape with a very firm, blunt muzzle, good width at the cheek bones, gently rounded top of head.  Largish ears continue the lines of the face, tilting forward and with rounded tips.  Eyes are large, correctly shaped and spaced wide apart, yellow chartreuse in tone.  Both eyes and ears most expressive and responsive.  In profile I would have liked a little more depth in the head; nose break acceptable.  Coat texture superb being soft and fine, short and showing a healthy sheen, well blended tones of varying shades of brown and red.  I liked her extrovert character.
AOC TORTIE KITTEN.  2 entered.  1  BOB  HERRINGTON’S SUGARBOWL MY DELILAH (27h)  7 months 2 weeks.  A super girl and my nomination for BOV kitten.  She was self assured and beautifully presented.  A heavy, well muscled girl though just a little on the plump side.  Elegant legs with small, oval feet and tail of correct length and thickness to balance.  Blunt, short, wedge shaped head  with gently rounded dome between moderate ears which continue the outer lines of the face, rounded at the tips and tilting forward slightly.  Expressive eyes, a clear, deep yellow tone, large with a straight, almost horizontal upper line and more rounded lower line, set well apart.  In profile generous depth in the skull, definite nose break though the nose rolls off a little at the tip, deep and level chin.  Soft and fine coat, short, close lying and with a healthy sheen, well mingled pale tones of milk chocolate and red.  She had a sparkling, friendly character.  2  PALLISTER’S  PENWYNKATZ GOINGFORGOLD  (27j)  7 months 2 weeks.  Medium size to her body, just a little plump in the tum, elegant legs, small, oval feet, tail well shaped but slightly short for balance, tapering gently to a rounded tip.  Head rather round in shape, broad at the jaw hinge and over the gently curved top, medium ears not quite continuing the outer facial lines.  Clear tone to the oval eyes, set well apart. Very short coat showing more warm cream than lilac, today lacking the required fine and soft texture.  I feel this girl did not present herself well today, I believe she was calling and maybe had other things on her mind.
AV FOREIGN BREEDERS KITTEN  3 entered.  1  KINDELL & HAWTHORN’S GRIZABELLA LADY LYNDA  2  HOOLE’S REXTACULAR FIZZYLIZZY  3  JOHNSON’S KASHYK CZAR DOMBROVSKI.
AV NOVICE NEUTER   2 entered.  1  EDMOND’S GR CH NOTTERTS NANCY (33a27x)  Female  4 years 6 months.  Confident, mature and with an impish expression yet amenable and easy to handle.  Large body of moderate length, broad across the chest, slightly plump now, hard and well muscled.  Slim legs, the rear legs being longer; tapering tail of correct length to balance.  Slender neck.  Head shows a short wedge with well defined whisker break.  Flat top with rounding over the brow, very strong stop, level, deep chin.  Large ears showing required tufts, muffs and wide base, rounded tips and starting at the level of the eye.  Large, oval eyes sweeping in a slant towards the ear, clear yellow in tone.  Coat has a soft texture, short and showing tight waves over the body, legs and tail, slightly shorter and more loosely waving on belly.  Whiskers and eyebrows well crinkled.  2  DAY’S MAIPENRAI  DOC FLOWER  (34)  10 months 1 week.  An appealing girl with breadth in the upper part of her face, short nose showing slight downward curve, minimal stop.  Muzzle a little fine and the chin could be slightly stronger.  Ears and bright green eyes show required shape, size and set.  Medium length, glossy coat, mid blue with some silver  tipping .  A relaxed, friendly lass.

Mrs J Tonkinson

Many thanks to Judith and Beryl for the invitation to judge once again at this show, although the entry was down there was a very friendly atmosphere in the hall and everything seemed to run very efficiently. Sadly it seems all the shows are suffering from the recession as I know only too well as a show manager myself. My steward was Richard Lord who as always is excellent at his job and really good company, thank you Richard once again, always a pleasure.

AV ORIENTAL CHAMPION FEMALE
GR CH HIRST’S CH TOGHAR PASTICHE 37h F 16/7/07 lovely chocolate tortie young queen with excellent head with large well placed flared ears and oriental bright green eyes that are a fraction full, almost straight profile with good chin, her bite is a fraction untidy as she is losing some of her canine teeth but is level. Long slender body with good muscle tone and lovely rich warm chestnut and red mingled tortie coat, really short and close lying sound to the roots and a very pretty harlequin effect facial colour distribution. Slender legs with neat oval paws and good length of whip tail to balance, very friendly young lady nicely presented.
RES GR CH SAXON’S CH TIJANMEEK MERCEDES 37a F 19/4/07 quite nice blue girl with medium wedge and large ears of quite good set when she relaxed and oriental bright green eyes., slight dip in profile with good chin and level bite. Substantial long body and short close lying mid blue coat that is basically sound, long legs with neat paws, I would have just preferred another inch on the length of her tail for balance. Sweet natured girl well presented.

AV ORIENTAL PREMIER MALE
GR PR HALLIDAY’S PR TOGHAR MIDNITE MAJIK 37 MN 18/10/07 big mature looking young black boy with good head and huge wide based flared ears and bright green oriental eyes, lovely strength of profile firm chin and level bite. Large long and powerfully built body with dense black coat that is perhaps a fraction long but lies really well and in excellent condition. Slender long legs with neat oval paws and lovely length of whippy tail with just a tiny pip at the end, lovely presentation and temperament.
RES GR PR NELSON’S PR TIDLTPOO JUSTIN TYME 38d MN 25/2/06 big mature red spotted tabby boy with quite masculine broad wedge of medium length and large well placed flared ears. Oriental set mid green eyes and straight profile with good chin and bite, and full facial tabby markings. Strong powerful body with rich red tabby pattern on paler ground with well defined pattern and good penetration of colour, spots not completely symmetrical but quite close too. Slender long legs with well defined leg barring and neat paws with lovely long whip like tail to balance, slightly shy but sweet natured and well presented.

ORIENTAL RED NEUTER
1 PC & BOB HALLIDAY’S PR TOGHAR TERRACOTA 37d MN 16/7/07 handsome young red boy with lovely head and huge wide based ears with good flare and oriental set olive green eyes. Good strength of profile with nice depth of chin and level bite although he is losing one or two canine teeth. Elegant long slender body with really short close coat rich red in colour and sound to the roots. Slender long legs and neat oval paws with wonderful long whippy tail that is just inclined to have a slightly fleshy tip, excellent temperament and presentation.

ORIENTAL CINNAMON NEUTER
1 PC & BOB LOWELL’S PR SUSPIRIA WILLIAM BECKFORD 37k MN 21/4/07 huge cinnamon boy with medium wedge and large well placed ears and bright green oriental eyes, straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Really big body with sound rich warm cinnamon coat that is a fraction long but in excellent condition and lies well, long legs with neat paws and long whip tail. I think I have said so much about this boy before and I love him to bits he has a super nature a truly big gentle giant but he really needs to watch his figure now, he almost fills every inch of his double pen and he has rather lost the overall elegance required of the breed which is a pity and my reason for not rewarding him in the Grand class.

AV ORIENTAL DEBUTANTE ADULT
1 SAXON’S SHADOWSQUAD KONNIE 37 F 4/7/08 quite a shy little queen who is only just adult, nice head with huge flared ears that are well set and oriental deep green eyes just a fraction full with surprise, straight profile with good chin and level bite, she just has a slight teething pinch to her muzzle when viewed from the front. Good length of slender body with short close lying black coat in excellent condition and sound to the roots. Long legs and dainty little paws and lovely long whippy tail to balance, there is just a tiny anomaly at the very tip, good presentation.

AV ORIENTAL SENIOR ADULT
1 RICHARDSON’S PENDLEMIST DARKMOONRISING 37 F 3/11/06 mature girl with nicely balanced head and large flared ears that follow the lines of the wedge well. Oriental set bright green eyes and straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite. Long slender body of good weight and substance with sound dense black coat that is a fraction long but lies nicely against her form and excellent texture. Slender legs with neat oval feet with a super long whippy tail, good natured girl nicely presented.

AV ORIENTAL MAIDEN KITTEN
1 SAXON’S TORREYLAINE COSMICCREEPERS 37 F 11/11.08 nicely grown young lady for her age and gender with neat little wedge head and large well placed ears, super deep green eyes and lovely even profile with firm little chin and clean level bite. Nice length of firm little body with sound black coat short and close lying, long legs and neat little paws, I just felt that she would have been more complete with another half an inch on the length of her stringy tail, but still a promising baby girl full of mischief.

AC SIAMESEOR BALINES ADULT NOT HAVING WON CC
1 SIMPSON’S MYLYNN MATINEE IDOL 24b M 4/1/08 young chocolate point boy with quite good head and large wide based ears of good set, bright blue oriental eyes just a fraction full in shape, straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite and basically complete chocolate mask, he is just inclined to have suspicion of a slightly spectacled appearance around the eyes. Long slender body with ivory coat in nice condition if a fraction long, there is some tonal shading to his lower back. Slender legs and neat paws with quite well matched chocolate stockings that are slightly paler than his mask and ears, good length of whip like tail to balance. Good natured boy well presented, he just needs to fill out and mature he still has a rather adolescent demeanour.
2 RICHARDSON’S PENDLEMIST HI GRISSOM 24a M 27/4/08 very active and inquisitive young male with quite a stylish head with large wide based ears and roman profile, good chin and level bite and lovely deep blue oriental eyes with full dark blue mask. Slender body of quite good length and a really short close coat that is very heavily shaded but nice condition, long legs with neat paws again with dark blue stockings and a long whippy tail. However, I felt that as a whole package he was really quite small for his age and gender, certainly he lacked overall balance his head although typy is small in proportion to his body which in turn needs to fill out and mature, my feeling is that he has lots of growing still to do.
3 WITHERS SAMSARA CHARME 32.1 M 5/12/07 very friendly young seal tabby point boy and although his head is well shaped with large wide based ears showing clear thumb prints, deep blue oriental eyes that are rather deep and slightly straight set, straight profile with a quite shallow chin but clean level bite, eye ribbons scarab to brow and whisker spots all present as a whole his head is rather small at the moment in comparison to the rest of his body. Fair size and length of body but his coat is very shaded, longer than desired and rather open, long legs and neat paws with well defined leg bracelets and well ringed long whippy tail. I just felt that he is still very adolescent and rather out of balance right now and he is slightly effeminate, everything needs time to come back into proportion, lovely temperament and presentation.

AC SIAMESE OR BALINESE DEBUTANTE ADULT
1 SIMPSON’S FLUTTERBY TELL-TALE TILLY 32b1 F 3/5/07 stylish seal torte point queen with lovely head and large wide based ears of good set and wonderful deep blue oriental eyes, straight profile with good chin and level bite, well broken mask and ears with tiny flashes of red. Well developed slender body of good length with short close lying coat, she is quite shaded along her back but there is still a reasonable level of contrast. Slender long legs with neat paws and long whip like tail, she has good breaks of colour in all areas with tiny flashes of red just in evidence, for personal preference I would have liked to see more but she is still a very nice girl nicely presented.
2 HOWARTH’S MIYASAMA FREDDIES GIRL 32b1 F 29/6/08 pretty little seal tortie girl who is only just adult with medium length of wedge and large wide at base ears of quite nice set. Lovely bright sparkling blue eyes and straight profile with good chin and level bite, her seal tortie mask is almost complete with quite good breaks in colour with some promising areas of red on her mask and ears. Slender body of lovely length with short close lying clear cream coat, long legs with dainty paws and lovely long whippy tail. Her stocking are well matched again with nice breaks in colour both there and on her tail with some promising evidence of red in all areas, sweet natured and nicely presented.
3 RICHARDSON’S PENDLEMIST HI GRISSOM 24a M
4 BROCK’S ADSETAM YOKIO SAN 24b F 6/1/07 rather grumpy chocolate point girl with reasonable head and large wide at base ears of fair set, her eyes were quite full in shape as she expressed her displeasure but it seemed to improve the depth of blue colour, almost straight profile and fairly good chin, her bite appeared level but I could not be certain without risking a finger, full dark chocolate mask and ears. Mature long muscular body with ivory coat that is a fraction long and quite shaded although of good smooth lie and condition. Slender legs and neat oval paws with well matched chocolate stockings in the same shade, I would have liked another inch on the length of her tail.

WRONG COLOUR NELSON’S TIDLYPOO TYPHOON TOM 32c MN 26/4/08 lovely gentle natured young man with quite a good head for balance and large wide based ears that are well set but he is inclined to bonnet them at times. Bright clear blue oriental eyes and straight profile with good chin and level bite, complete mask that is well matched to his ears. Long svelte body and lovely short close coat in excellent condition but really very heavily shaded for on so young. He stands quite tall on slender long legs and neat oval paws the colour here is perhaps slightly paler but the paws pads are quite a dull brick pink, good length of whip like tail well matched for colour. However, the whole picture is one that convinces me that he is apricot rather than cream and I did discuss it with two senior judges who agreed with my opinion.

AC SIAMESE OR BALINESE DEBUTANTE NEUTER
1 MUSSON’S MAFDET MCTABBY 32.1 MN 11/5/08 rather nice seal tabby point boy with lovely strong head and huge wide based ears showing clear thumb prints and set at the perfect angle. Wonderful deep blue oriental eyes with double ribbons, almost roman profile with M to brow and whisker spots in warm seal brown, I would have preferred  a little more depth of chin but his bite is level. Long strong svelte body with a really short close lying coat there is some shading but his coat is really quite clear for a seal tabby. Slender legs and neat oval paws with well defined seal legs bracelets and well ringed long whippy tail, a lovely boy well presented.

CC withheld 1st DOHERTY’S ALJORA SILVER ARROW Small boy, lacking substance.  Small round head and well set ears.  Hazel eyes, could be rounder, cheeks not fully developed, nose a fraction long, level bite, fair chin.  Deep silver ground colour, pattern not dense black, nice butterfly, oysters not quite matching with brindling in pattern. Short tail with a few rings. His total lack of show preparation let him down today. A few grooming sessions prior to the show would have cleared out the old coat quite easily and could have made all the difference to the outcome.
