1 Mlynek and Hayward’s MLYWARD MUNCHKIN
13c2 M 27.6.08
What a lovely cat to start the day’s judging, a blue point, and one who was only just in the adult class being barely nine months old. He has excellent birman type and a well formed broad head that had good width, rounded and with well placed ears of medium size. The nose was of medium length and had the correct dip in profile and had a slate grey nose leather. The eyes had a lovely birman expression and were large and almost round in shape with good blue eye colour. The cheeks had good width and he had a level bite with a firm, slightly tapering chin. The body was well grown for his age and was solid, long and supported on strong well muscled legs of medium height. He had a fully plumed tail of medium length which matched the other points perfectly. The coat was beautiful, being long and clear, of a pale glacial white with a ruff developing well around the neck and was perfectly presented, being soft and very silky in texture. The mask was already full over the face with evidence of tracing lines to the ears and was a good shade of bluish grey on all the points. The gloves and socks were sparkling white and were very well matched and symmetrical. The gauntlets extended along two thirds the length of the feet and had rounded ends rather than tapering ones but were very well matched. A boy with a lovely nature who went on to get overall Best in Show exhibit and who was a very worthy winner. Congratulations!
2 Burman’s JANDOUGLEN LEA WOOD BEAU
13c4 M 21.5.08
A very handsome lilac point boy of ten months of age who was unlucky to meet the winner of this class. His head was broad and rounded and had a strong skull shape. The ears were spaced far apart on the head and were of medium size. The nose had a slight bump at the tip but was of medium length and had the correct slight dip at the nasal bridge with a lilac nose leather. Cheek width was good and the bite was level but his chin could have been just a little firmer for facial balance. The eyes were almost round in shape and had acceptable mid blue eye colour for a lilac point cat and had a lovely gentle expression. He was a large boy with a long body, very well grown for his age and was of a good weight with well muscled legs of medium height and short strong paws. The coat was lovely and clear, being an off white magnolia shade that was of a good length and had a silky soft texture. The points were a very pretty shade of pale pinkish grey that is so characteristic of lilac point cats with a well formed mask and points that were fairly well matched apart from the tail which was a touch paler in colour, less sound and showing a little brindling on the day but was well furnished and in proportion to the body length. The front paws had pure white gloves and were matching on the upper surface but the left glove extended to the stop on the underside but with paws with such pale fur it was hard to see if it extended beyond the stop and so was given the benefit of doubt. The socks were clean and covered almost the entire paw with the right sock being slightly longer. The gauntlets were matching and symmetrical but could have been a little longer. A gentle well behaved cat when handled and who was shown in good condition.
3 Miller’s GR CH ADVENLO FUSHOULU CARUSO
13c2 M 6.10.99
Another blue point boy who was over nine and a half years of age with a mature physique. Head shape was broad and rounded with good width between the medium size ears. He had a medium length nose that had a slight dip in profile with a slightly rounded bump at the tip and ending with a slate grey nose leather. Large eyes of mid blue eye colour and almost round shape with a good birman expression. Full rounded cheeks, a broad muzzle with a full chin that tapered well. The body had good substance, well boned and with thick set legs with strong paws as he is a very mature looking male. The tail was bushy and was of a good length and balanced the body length. The coat was long with a full ruff and had soft texture but was very shady all over the body which can be expected in a cat of his age. The mask, ears, legs and tail were a dense blue grey colour and were well matching on all his points. His gloves were well marked and were slightly scalloped but level and he had even socks that were a reasonable match. However, the gauntlets differed in length having the right one slightly longer and both gloves and socks were not a clean white and were grubby and somewhat yellowish in colour which detracted greatly from his overall appearance. Such a shame as he is a well mannered boy when handled.

A very pretty lilac point female with good birman type who was only just over nine months old. Excellent shaped head which had good breadth developing and was well rounded. Good ear set with plenty of space between and with ear size in proportion to head shape. The nose had a slight dip to her good profile and had a lilac nose leather. Her cheeks were full and round with good width and her chin was firm and tapering. She had lovely eyes which were almost round in shape and had good blue eye colour and very sweet expression. Her body had firm boning and was of a good size and weight and she had short rounded paws. The coat was lovely and full and was very soft in texture, of magnolia white and was free of any shadiness being very clear and beautifully prepared. Her mask was a pretty shade of pinkish grey and matched the colour of the limbs and ears but the tail was a much paler shade and was bushy and in proportion to the body length. The front feet markings were sparkling white and were well matched and level. The socks were clean with the left sock slightly longer than the right but the gauntlets were well matching and symmetrical. A queen who was in the obviously in the middle of calling and who had a lovely sweet cuddly nature and was a delight to handle.

A red point girl who was not yet two years of age and who was showing good birman type. She had a broad top of head that was rounded and had well placed ears of medium size, set far apart. The face had good width and the cheeks were full and rounded. Her eyes were almost round and had fabulous deep blue eye colour that were a delight to see. The
profile was good having a slight dip at the nasal bridge and a pink nose leather. The chin was firm and slightly tapered. The mask was a rich shade of orange red and matched the other points very well while the coat was soft and full with a ruff clearly developing and a slightly curly tummy. The coat colour was a pale cream shade and had a slight golden hue over the shoulders. The tail was full and balanced, being of medium length and was of a rich shade of red. Her body was firm and with good boning and set on medium height legs that had short rounded paws. All feet markings were pure white and were very clean. The gloves were level and symmetrical and she had good matching socks and well formed gauntlets that were similar in length and shape. She had a lovely sweet nature and was well prepared for the show bench.
3 Brown’s CH DALTEEMA DIAMANTE DOLLY
13c7 F 6.2.07
Another delightful birman girl with good type, a cream point who was just over two years old. Head shape was strong and well rounded with good width and balanced features. The ears were well set on top, placed far apart and were of medium size. Good eye shape that was almost round but had blue eye colour that could have been better and were a little pale and greyish in tone. The nose had a slight dip in profile and had a pink nose leather. The cheeks were rounded and she had an adequate chin which could have been firmer. Body had good length and was solid, supported on well boned legs of medium height and which had short rounded paws. The coat was lovely and full, being a clear creamy white and was long and with a soft silken texture. There was a beautiful full ruff framing the face and a hint of a golden glow over the shoulders. Her tail was bushy, of medium length and in proportion to the body length and was a good shade of cream which matched the cream points of the mask and ears. The legs, however, were a shade paler cream while the foot markings were a clear sparkling white. The gloves were almost level with the left one just a fraction longer. The socks covered the feet well and were also almost level but the left sock was marginally higher. The gauntlets were matching and even and tapered almost to the hock but had rounded blunt ends. A lovely female with a sweet temperament and who had super presentation.

A seal tortie girl who is only just an adult who had pleasing good birman type and was a very pretty girl. Excellent shaped head that was broad and well rounded with wide placement of ears which were of medium size and had well intermingled tortie colouring. Lovely eye shape that was almost round, of large size and with stunning deep blue eye colour that does not come much deeper. Slight dip to an excellent profile and with the nose showing a pigmented seal brown nose leather. Well rounded full cheeks which had good width and a firm chin that was a little paler in colour than the rest of the face and having a bite that was level. She had a good mask that was well intermingled with seal brown and light and dark shades of red with a lighter blaze running down half of the nose. The colour on the legs were a shade paler and both limbs had well matching seal brown markings. The tail, which was of medium length was slightly brindled but well furnished. Her coat was lovely and clear, of a fawn shade, with a good ruff and was of a fine silky soft texture. A well grown girl with a firm body of good size and sturdy legs of medium height. The foot markings were a sparkling white with gloves that were level, slightly scalloped and symmetrical. The socks were evenly marked and the gauntlets were matching and tapered well towards the hock. A gentle girl with good show manners who was expertly presented.

A blue point girl with lovely birman type that I have judged before. She has very good type and is a well grown female with very good bone and musculature supported on legs of medium height. Excellent head
shape being broad and well rounded with good wide placement of ears that were of medium size. Excellent profile with a slight dip in the medium length nose which had a slate grey nose leather. Large eyes, nearly round in shape had a lovely expression and had a good deep blue shade. She had well filled rounded cheeks with good facial width and a rounded muzzle, good shape chin and a level bite. The points were a medium blue-grey shade and were well matched on all the points. She had a full mask covering the face and a lovely soft coat that was full and of a medium length of bluish white and had a golden hue over her back. She had a good ruff and a slightly curly tummy and the tail was full and in proportion to the body length. Her feet were pristine white with gloves that were a touch low but well matching and slightly scalloped. The socks were of even width with the right one just a fraction longer and the gauntlets were broad and tapering and almost perfectly matching. A very sweet girl with a lovely temperament who was expertly presented.

Not the first time I have met this cream point girl and she is still a honey! She has only just become an adult and has very good type with a well grown body that was solid in shape and of a good size with thick legs of medium height and short rounded paws. The head was broad and rounded with pale cream ears that were of medium size and spaced well apart on the skull. The profile had the correct slight dip and the nose was of medium length and had a pink nose leather. Good face width with full cheeks and a firm chin with a level bite. Her eyes were of good size, almost round in shape and had fabulous deep blue eye colour. The coat was of medium length and was very clear, being off white in colour and was very soft and silky in texture. Her medium length tail was bushy and together with the legs was a slightly paler shade than the other cream points. The mask was developing well and was very pale cream. The feet were pure white and she had well matching gloves that were slightly scalloped and where the limit of white was very hard to distinguish on the underside of the paw as the cream fur was so very pale and so she was given the benefit of doubt. The socks were well matching and level and she had wide gauntlets with the left one longer than the right. A delightful girl with a sweet nature who really enjoyed a cuddle from us.
2 Brown’s DALTEEMA FANTASIA
13c10 F 3.6.08
Another very pretty birman girl, a lilac tortie with good type who was also ten months of age. She had a long body that was well grown and of a good weight with a solid build. The legs were of medium height and had short rounded paws. The head was broad and well rounded and had good width between the ears which were of medium size. The cheeks were full and rounded and she had a firm slightly tapering chin with a level bite. Her nose had a slight dip in profile and had a lilac cream nose leather with a light cream blaze that was a fine line running down the nose length. The eyes were not fully round and had mid blue eye colour with good birman expression. The points on the head region were very clear and contrasted well with the body colour, being lilac and shades of cream, that were well intermingled on the mask but which was still developing. The ears and other points were all broken and the body fur was a clear magnolia white. The coat had a lovely soft texture, being silky and well presented with a ruff developing. The tail was of medium length and fluffy and showing both cream and lilac shades. The gloves were pure white and were level on the upper part of the paw but it was difficult to see the limit on the underside of the paw as the fur was so pale and so she was given the benefit of doubt also. The socks were pure white of medium length and were level and symmetrical. She also had good gauntlets that were fairly long and tapered very slightly. A promising girl who was easy to handle and who was well presented.

A sealpoint girl who was nearing two years of age and who had learnt how to cough to put us off! She was well grown and of a good size and build with strong legs and short rounded paws. Head shape was broad and rounded and she had well set ears that were placed far apart on the skull. Her profile showed a medium size nose that had a slight dip and a seal brown nose leather. The eyes were two tone at present being deeper at the centre and were of a mid blue shade. The cheeks were full and round and she had a firm well tapered chin. The points were a rich seal brown colour with a full mask that was very brindled on the cheeks and above the eyes at present. The ears were a good seal brown while the other points were a little paler in shade and the tail which was full and well feathered was also very brindled. The coat was of a good length and was of a soft silky texture but was shady over her back. The gloves were pure white but were set low and scalloped and the left one was shorter on the underside of the paw. The socks were a clean white and were matching and level and the gauntlets were short, broad and ended with a rounded blunt edge.

This is a handsome red point boy who I have met before and who was sandwiched near a calling female and near another dominant male which caused a little friction on the day as the hormones were getting the better of all of them. He is a well grown muscular cat with good body length and strong boning and thick strong legs. He has a broad rounded skull with good spacing between the ears which were well set on the head. Cheeks width was very good as they were full and rounded and he had a firm chin that balanced the upper part of the face. The nose had the correct dip in profile with a pink nose leather and a slight nose bump. The eyes were large, and had a good blue shade with an almost rounded shape. The coat was soft and very full being a pale cream shade and had a slight golden saddle over his shoulders and back. The tail was well proportioned and fully furnished and was a good shade of red that matched the other points very well. He had a red mask which covered the face well and matched the colour of the ears. The foot markings were clean being pure white. The gloves were well matched in length but the white on the right hand front paw dipped to one side. The socks were level and symmetrical but the left gauntlet was longer than the right hand one. As he was so upset on handling we only had a brief chance to look him over so as not to upset him further.

The ears were sited far apart on his skull and were of medium size and were a rich seal brown colour. The profile was good with a slight dip at the nasal bridge but with a slight bump at the tip and a seal brown nose leather. His eyes were of a good size and almost round in shape and had eye colour that was of a mid blue shade but was deeper in the centre of the eye ball. The cheeks were fairly full and he had a slightly tapering chin that was firm and balanced. He had a good seal brown mask which covered the face well and matched the colour of the ears and legs but was a little brindled at this time of year. The coat was very clear and was a pale beige colour, free of shadiness and was of a very soft texture with a lovely full ruff. The tail was bushy, in proportion to the body length, and well furnished but was a shade paler than the other points and was slightly brindled. He had clean white feet with gloves that were level but the right hand one was slightly scalloped on the upper surface and the left hand one had a long line of white running to the stop on the underside of the paw but not extending beyond it. Both feet had short socks that were matching, even and pure white. The gauntlets were not quite the same length with the right hand one extending halfway to the hock and was blunt at the end while the left one was longer, fuller and tapered towards the hock. A well behaved cat who was easy to handle and who was well presented.

A blue point neutered kitten of eight months of age who was very handsome with lovely birman type and with a very heavy, balanced body of good size and length, supported on legs of medium height with thick set short paws. He had a broad rounded skull with well spaced ears of medium size and a face that had good width. The nose had a slight dip when viewed in profile and had a slate grey nose leather. The cheeks were well rounded and full and he had a very good chin that was slightly tapered. Lovely eye shape that was almost round, large and had good mid blue eye colour which was a little paler at the edges and which had a pleasing birman expression. He had an almost fully formed mask which was a sound blue shade that matched the other points very well. The coat was long and silken in texture with a ruff that was developing and the tail was well furnished, balanced in proportion to the body length. Coat colour was a glacial white shade and was clear of any shadiness. Foot markings were pure white and the gloves were neat and symmetrical. The socks were well matching and covered the entire paw. The gauntlets were of medium length and were also a little blunt but perfectly level. I really liked this kitten and was pleased to see that he went on later to become Best in Show Kitten on the day. Congratulations!

13c4 M 23.7.08
A lilac point boy of eight months of age and only a couple of days older than the first placed kitten. Pleasing head shape that was broad and rounded and giving the face good width. The ears had good placement and were of medium size. Good profile line with a slight dip in the nose and with a lilac nose leather. Correct birman eye shape that was almost round and had mid blue eye colour. Fairly full cheek width and an adequate chin with level bite. Body had firm boning, was muscular and he was of a good size for his age with strong legs of medium height. The coat was a beautiful magnolia white shade and had a ruff starting to develop. It was of a soft silken texture and was well prepared. The tail was full and had a pinkish grey colour and was of medium length but was a slightly paler shade than the other points which were otherwise well matching. The mask was still developing and matched the colour of the ears very well. The gloves were level and matching and he had full socks which were an almost reasonable match. The gauntlets were of the same length but the left one was broader and both of them could have been longer and more tapering. All foot markings were sparkling white and very clean and the show presentation was good. A well behaved kitten.

A younger kitten, a seal point, of seven months of age who was well grown and had a broad head that was rounded with medium size ears that were sited well on top. The profile had a correct slight dip at the nasal bridge with a slight bump at the nose tip and a seal brown nose leather. Eye colour was of a mid blue shade and was two tone blue at present with almost round eye shape. The cheeks are needing to fill out further and he had a firm chin with an over shot bite at present. He was a heavy well built kitten with a solid frame and good body length with well boned legs. The mask was developing still and was displaying some brindling on the face below the eyes. It was a dark seal brown colour and matched the ears although the other body points were paler. The coat was fairly full and was of a pale beige shade which had a golden saddle over the back and shoulders and had a soft texture. The tail was balanced and in proportion to the body length and was well furnished. Foot markings were pure white and clean. He had gloves that were both scalloped and with the right hand one somewhat untidy with an irregular edge on the underside of the paw. The socks were also not matching with the left one lower set and with white that ran into the toe. Gauntlets also varied in size and shape with the right one being broad and tapers while the left one was very thin, narrow and strongly tapering. A gentle confidant kitten with a good nature.

1 Doble’s BULLAMOOR SKYSTHELIMIT
13c 12 M 28.8.08
A blue tabby pointed boy of eight months who was a bit scared and rather timid but who let us handle him with care. His head had good width with a well rounded skull and carrying medium size ears that were spaced far apart on the head. His almost round shaped eyes had mid blue eye colour and an alert expression and showing characteristic tabby spectacles. His nose had a slight dip in profile and a pink nose leather edged with blue. The cheeks were filling out and could have been fuller but he has plenty of time on his side. The muzzle had width and was showing typical tabby spotting. The mask was still developing and was not quite full but was showing a clear ‘M’ on his forehead and faint pencilling on his cheeks. The colour of the points was showing blue markings on a light beige agouti ground colour but were lacking and not visible as barring on the legs at present. The tail was full and bushy and had faint tabby rings on its underside but was solid on the upper surface. The coat was soft and was a bluish white shade and had a clear ruff developing with a slightly curly tummy and a golden glow around the rump region. The body frame was strong and well built for this age with excellent muscle and boning. The gloves were pure white, slightly scalloped and not fully matched. The right hand one extended over the side of the paw and up to the stop on the underside and with the paleness of the coat it was not possible to state whether it went beyond the stop and so he was given the benefit of doubt. The socks were clean and of a good length and were matching well. The gauntlets were not matching with the right hand one being slightly longer than the left but both were of a good length and were tapering towards the hock.

A blue point girl of eight months who had good birman type and was of a good size for her age. She had a solid well built body shape with good body length and with medium height legs and short paws. Well shaped head that was broad and rounded with good placement of ears that were far apart and were of medium size. She had good cheek width and the nose shape was almost straight and barely had a dip at the nasal bridge but was of medium length and had a slate grey nose leather. Her eyes were large and not fully round and had two tone eye colour which was of a mid blue shade and sweet expression. Her chin falls away a little and needs to firm up a little more as she grows. The coat was of a good length and texture being a bluish white shade with some very slight shadiness over her back and flanks and with a well developed ruff. It was of a soft silky texture and was well presented. The points were of a blue –grey shade and were matching on the mask, ears and the limbs but the tail was bushy showing a little brindling at present and was in proportion to the body length. The foot markings were clean and pure white. The gloves were scalloped with the left one a little higher than the right. The left hand sock was of medium length and also had an untidy edge not being level across the hind paw. The right gauntlet was broader than the left one. A well mannered girl who was easy to handle and had a lovely sweet nature.
3 Black’s LIZZARA MOONBEAM
13c6 F 28.8.08
A seven month old seal tortie kitten that I have judged before who has grown a bit since I last saw her but going through an adolescent stage of development just now. She had a firm solid body of good length for a seven month old kitten with medium height legs that were strong and thick. Head width was broad and rounded. Well set ears of medium size had good spacing between and showing intermingled tortie colours. The nose had a slight dip in profile and had a slight bump at the tip and with a nose leather that was both pink and seal brown. The cheeks were filling out and she had a level bite and a firm chin. The eyes had correct shape for a birman being not fully round and had deep blue eye colour and a very sweet expression. The face was well patched with a good mask showing strong intermingled tortie colouring of seal brown and shades of red and she had a cream and red blaze running down her nose. The other points on the limbs also had clear tortie markings and the tail which was bushy had strong tortie colouring. The coat was soft with a good silky texture being a pretty pale shade of fawn and had a very light golden hue over the top of the back. The gloves were pure white and set rather low but well matched and even across the paw line. The socks were also a touch low but were a good match and were a clean white. The gauntlets were of different widths with one being broad and long and the other one being short and thin and were also of unequal lengths but with the fur so pale on underside of the hind paws it was hard to see the limits of both. A sweet natured girl who handled very well.

I have met this super seal point boy before who is now over three years old. He has very good type with excellent head shape that is rounded and with good width to the skull. The ears are well sited on the top being placed far apart and of medium size. He has a good profile line with a medium length nose that has a slight dip at the nasal bridge and a dark seal brown nose leather. The cheeks were full and well rounded giving good width to the face. He had a mature broad muzzle and the chin was firm and tapered slightly. The eyes were of large size, almost round in shape with mid blue eye colour and were most expressive. His body was long with well muscled legs of medium height and he was a good weight and had a solid build. The points had good seal brown colouring with the mask covering the face fully and matching the colour of the ears very well. The tail was bushy and of medium length and the coat was very lovely and long and was a pale beige shade with a golden saddle over his back. The texture was silky and very soft and was expertly prepared. The gloves and socks were pure white and contrasted sharply with the dark seal points on the legs. The gloves were very slightly scalloped and set just a fraction low and were very well matched on the upper part of the paw but the left glove had white just reaching the stopper pad on the underside of the paw but not extending beyond it. The socks were level, well matching and symmetrical and the gauntlets were also almost level and well matching. A real gentle cat when handled with an excellent show temperament.

She had a firm solid body shape with good boning and musculature set on strong sturdy legs of medium height. She had a broad rounded top of head with well set ears of medium size. The profile had the correct slight dip along the nose and the face had good width with full well rounded cheeks and a chin that could have been firmer for better facial balance. The eyes had mid blue eye colour that was two tone and was of a mid blue shade with a pleasing gentle expression. The coat was of a good length and was soft and of a silken texture and was fawn in colour. It was shady over her back and was curly on the tummy which had a small shady patch between the legs. The points were well marked with all tortie colours showing seal brown intermingled with light and dark shades of red. The tail was well furnished and in proportion to the body length. The foot markings were clean and pure white with gloves that were a little low and slightly scalloped but otherwise well matching. A ten month old cream tabby birman boy with a lovely nature and excellent tabby markings. Very well grown body that was firm and well muscled with sturdy legs and good body length. Broad rounded skull with good width between the ears which were of correct medium size and were solid cream in colour but not showing thumb prints. The nose had a slight dip and a full pink nose leather with a good profile line and the cheeks were full and developing well. The eyes were nearly round in shape, large and with good blue eye colour and pleasing expression. The chin was firm, nicely tapering and balanced. The mask covered the face well and matched the other points. The face had good spectacles around the eyes, a clear ‘M’ and pale cream pencilling on his cheeks and eye lines. The muzzle whisker pads were pale and showing tabby spots. The legs had clear barring of cream over a paler agouti ground colour and the tail had faint tabby rings, was well furnished and in proportion to the body length. The coat was soft in texture and was of medium length with a slight golden glow over the shoulder area. The foot markings were clean and white but the limit of the glove edges were very hard to see as his cream fur was so pale but appeared to be level and the socks and gauntlets were matching and symmetrical.

Lovely eye shape, almost round, with mid blue eye colour that was two tone and with a pleasing birman expression. The coat was long and full with soft silky texture and was fawn and shady over her back but the tummy was clear apart from a small patch of shadiness on her tummy but the fur there was curly and very soft. All the tortie points were clearly visible and were well intermingled showing black and both light and dark shades of red on the mask, ears, legs and tail which was bushy and of correct medium length. The gloves were pure white and were set a little low on the paw and were slightly scalloped. The socks were clean white and were level and covered the foot well while the gauntlets were both blunt in shape, not reaching near the hock and with the right hand one slightly longer.

A very handsome seal tabby boy with excellent mature birman type. Body shape was long and of a good weight supported on medium height legs that were strong and well boned with short strong paws. He had a strong skull shape that was broad and well rounded. Medium size ears were well placed set far apart on top and with solid seal brown colour showing a hint of thumb prints. Good birman profile with a slight dip at the nasal bridge and a pink nose leather outlined with seal brown. The cheeks were well developed being full and rounded and the muzzle was broad and had well spotted whisker pads. The chin was slightly tapering and was firm and balanced the upper part of the face. Prominent light spectacles circled his almost round eyes which had brilliant deep blue eye colour and bright alert expression. The coat was soft and well prepared being a clear pale beige shade with a hint of a golden saddle over the shoulders. It was of a medium length and was silky in texture with a fluffy tail that was in proportion to the body length and had somewhat faint tabby rings on its underside. The points were seal brown on a pale brown agouti ground colour and were very clear on all the body points. The mask had clear eye lines, pencilling on the cheeks and a strong ‘M’ on his forehead. The legs had good barring also present. Very white feet that were sparkling white and contrasted very well with the tabby points on the legs. Level and well matching symmetrical gloves but the socks were not perfectly matched having the left sock just slightly higher. The gauntlets were well marked and ran half way along the foot and tapered well but the right gauntlet was slightly broader than the left one. A delightful cat with a super friendly temperament.

Another handsome seal point boy who was almost three years old with good type. A mature heavy weight male who was well grown with good long body shape that was firm, having a well muscled body and well boned legs and strong paws. Head shape was broad and rounded with good width between the medium size ears. Large eyes that had correct almost rounded eye shape with deep blue eye colour and engaging birman expression. Good profile lines with a slight dip in the medium length nose. Excellent well rounded full cheek width with a firm chin that tapered a little and with a good level bite. The coat was a clear pale beige and had a golden saddle and some shadiness over the lower rump region. It was of a soft silken texture and was well prepared. The mask covered the face fully and was a sound dark brown and matched the colour of the ears and the other points. The tail was of medium length and was well furnished. There were pure white feet with the front legs having neat gloves that were just a little low and with a streak of white running to the stop on the underside but not extending beyond the stopper pad. The socks were well matched and the gauntlets were symmetrical and tapering well. A well mannered cat when handled.

A very handsome red point boy with excellent type that I have met several times before and who has matured to be a real heavy weight cat with good boning and with a well balanced body that was large and with a long body shape with muscular legs of medium height and short strong paws with lovely feathered feet. He has a lovely thick coat that is soft and very silky in texture, of pale cream which has been expertly prepared. The points were a rich shade of red having a full mask which matched the ears and the bushy tail very well but the legs were a slightly paler shade of red. The skull was broad and well rounded with the ears well placed on top. Large eyes of almost round shape had mid blue eye colour which could have been deeper. The nose had the correct dip in profile and was of medium length with a pink nose leather. Cheeks had plenty of width and were well rounded and the chin was firm. Sparkling white foot markings present with gloves that were scalloped and matching. The socks were level and symmetrical while the gauntlets were long, extending two thirds towards the hock and were broad and even in length and slightly blunt at the tip. A boy with a delightful nature and good show presence.
I had a wonderful day judging again at this small friendly show, albeit the venue is a bit off the beaten track! It’s such a treat to see some wonderful examples of the Birman breed under one roof! Thanks to Vanessa Keeping and the show committee for my invitation, and a special thank you to those responsible for the catering today, lunch was one of the best on the circuit!! I was honoured to be asked to judge the overall best in show Birman, and having judged many splendid exhibits during the morning was rather relieved that the task of choosing the final six exhibits rested with my colleagues, though the task of choosing just one of these wonderful Birmans for the accolade of Overall Best in Show was such a difficult decision, really splitting hairs and nitpicking!! After much deliberation, I whittled it down to my best adult, kitten and neuter and then chose the stunning young male adult, Messrs Mlynek &Hayward’s Mlyward Munchkin, as the overall best, though I have to say the gorgeous fifteen year old seal neuter female ran him very close for the award! Last, but by no means least, a special thank you to my good friend, Jim Warrender, for relinquishing his merchandising hat to steward once again in his calm and efficient way, we had a great day together, thanks Jim!

An extremely pretty girl, with a most endearing expression. Lovely Birman type, her skull is broad and rounded, she has well placed medium sized ears, full rounded cheeks that taper gently to chin that could be a touch firmer for perfection, medium length nose with slight dip to the profile. Exceedingly beautiful deep blue eyes, almost round in shape and so expressive, really delightful. Her body is long and of excellent weight, lovely solid feel to the body and limbs, bushy medium length tail to balance. Sparkling white feet, her gloves are matching if a touch scalloped, gauntlets are a matching length, full and tapered. She was wearing a beautifully presented soft and silky bluish white coat, just showing slight surface shading but still contrasting with her mid blue points colour. Delighted to award her an Imperial Certificate today, she really has blossomed into an even more stunning, glamorous and glorious girl since I last saw her.

I’ve had the pleasure of judging this fabulous boy before, he always stands out in competition thanks in no small measure to his excellent body size and structure, and his perfect presentation by his adoring owners. Fabulous Birman type, his head proportions are just perfect, with a broad and rounded skull, full cheeks tapering gently to firm chin, medium sized ears spaced well apart and medium length nose with slight dip to the profile, and just a hint of a nose bump, I love his freckled pink nose leather! His one peccadillo is that his eye colour could be a deeper blue than it is, but his eyes are almost round and set well, wonderful alert expression. Well grown and well proportioned boy, lovely solid feel to the long firm body and limbs, thick set legs, strong paws and a bushy medium length tail to balance. Pristine chalk white feet markings, the gloves are even, socks match and gauntlets are long and full. His coat is nothing short of sensational, beautifully presented to the last hair, soft, silky and thick, wonderful pale cream in colour that contrasts well with his orangey red points colour. When I last saw him, I commented that his turn would come, so pleased he is proving me right!

Another, dare I say ‘old’, favourite of mine. Every time I see him I marvel at his perfect palest ivory coat that is in superb condition, with a magnificent ruff framing his head beautifully. He too is also presented to absolute perfection whenever I see him, perhaps the Brown and Chaffe families should consider setting up a feline grooming business!! Very pleasing Birman type and size, excellent head shape and piercing deep blue eyes. Very good body size and weight, long and muscular tones to the body and limbs, bushy tail length balances well. Chalk white feet markings, gloves are even, his right gauntlet needs to be teased into a better shape, but certainly within the standard. His points colouring is milky chocolate, albeit his mask and tail are showing slight signs of brindling. A relaxed exhibit, delightful to handle.

It was an absolute pleasure to award this bewitching looking female an Imperial today, to add to her impressive tally! She simply looks amazing for her fifteen and a half years and I have so enjoyed judging her since she returned to the show bench in 2007. Wonderful Birman type and expressive blue eyes, with the ethereal look that is so special in the breed, albeit she is just beginning to lose depth to the colour now,. She has retained magnificent body size and weight, looks so well proportioned and balanced. Her coat is sensational, palest beige with not a hint of shading, contrasting exquisitely with her deep seal points colour, although her mask is paling slightly now. Sparkling white feet markings, neat and even gloves, socks and gauntlets. As always, she was presented to absolute perfection by her adoring owners, she is an absolute credit to them and to the breed, she looks sensational and she knows it! I had no hesitation in awarding her the Best Neuter in the show later in the afternoon.

GCC, MLYNEK & HAYWARD’S GR CH MLYWARD MLYKO, 13c7, CREAM POINT, 19.04.04
I’ve long admired this fabulous looking cream point male, he exudes “Rolls-Royce” quality from the tip of his pink nose leather to the tip of his bushy cream tail. He has fabulous Birman type, his head has perfect proportions, ears are perfectly balanced and correct size and he has stunning vibrant deep blue almost round eyes. Very well grown boy, long and sturdy body, proportionate limbs and tail. Sparkling white feet markings, even gloves and tidy gauntlets. His coat is perfection, being palest off white in colour, thick and silky soft, contrasting well with his soft cream points colour and presented to the last hair. His only downfall can be his moods, this morning we started with a real white knuckle ride, but once he comes out to strut his stuff, he seems to know that it’s time to perform, and proceeds to show himself off beautifully. He is certainly a spirited character, my congratulations on winning his fifth Imperial today, a new well deserved title for the prefix that goes from strength to strength!
RES GCC, MILLER’S GR CH ADVENLO FUSHOULU CARSOO, 13c2, BLUE POINT, 06.10.99
A very handsome mature male, with excellent Birman type. His skull is broad and rounded, ears are medium and well placed, full cheeks tapering to firm strong chin, level bite. His nose is medium long with slight dip to the profile, just a hint of a nose bump. Almost round deep blue eyes, with a soul searching expression. Well grown boy, he has a strong and substantial frame, long body with proportionate limbs and bushy tail that is just long enough for balance, slightly greasy on the top. His gloves are sparkling white, even across the paws, gauntlets are matching length, more of a squared off finish than tapered, socks are very slightly uneven with the right being fractionally lower than the left. Well presented boy, his bluish white coat is silky soft and fairly thick, albeit showing some surface shading and his blue points are even, though the mask is does extend over the ears to give a hooded appearance. A pleasure to judge such a gentle and relaxed boy.

CC & BOB, WARREN’S HAMSHILL ROMEO, 13c11, SEAL TABBY POINT, 25.04.08
Just a year old, and still looking a tad immature but showing great promise. I really liked his type, good breadth to skull with medium sized ears placed well apart and showing delicate thumb prints. Fairly full cheeks taper gently to firm chin, his bite is level. Medium length nose with slight dip to the profile, soft butterfly marking under the nose, spotted whisker pads. His almost round eyes are a deep sea blue colour, framed by light coloured spectacle markings that enhance his appearance. Very good body length and weight, nice sturdy feel already to his frame and limbs, tail is already bushy and showing slight rings on the underside, just a touch of brindling on top and could be a fraction longer for perfect balance. Sparkling chalk white feet markings are tidy, with even gloves and tapering matching length gauntlets. Soft and silky pale beige coat is seasonally short at the moment and he needs his ruff to develop more to frame his head, the contrast with defined seal tabby markings is excellent. Wonderful natured boy, relaxed and friendly.

A lovely boy, who did seem to have a split personality on display this morning, one minute purring his head off, rolling over and over to be tickled and head-butting us whilst in the pen, but he had plenty to say for himself once he came out, grumbling incessantly and using some rather choice language on the trolley! Excellent Birman type, his skull is broad and rounded, well developed cheeks tapering to a firm muzzle, level bite and good chin. Medium sized ears are spaced well apart, medium length nose with slight dip to the profile, albeit he does have an almost retrousse tip! Almost round eyes are good blue colour, and he has the most heart melting expression. Excellent body size and weight, sturdy feel to the body and thick set limbs, bushy tail to balance. Sparkling white feet markings, his gloves are very slightly scalloped and he has long full gauntlets. Expertly groomed pale beige coat is silky soft and fairly thick, his deep seal points colouring contrasting well. When I saw my catalogue at the end of the day, I realised I had judged this fellow before and had a word with his owners about his changeable temperament, when I learnt that he had stayed away from home the night before the show, he’s clearly a home loving boy who doesn’t like his routine and equilibrium disturbing!
2ND, LYSENG’S PR ADATELO RIVER BAYGAZER, 14.12.07
A gentle young lad, just eighteen months old and of very pleasing Birman type. His skull is fairly broad and rounded, medium sized ears are placed well apart, cheeks are fairly full and taper gently to good chin, level bite. He has vivid deep blue almost round eyes, with the most gorgeous of expressions, soft and gentle to melt anyone’s heart. Well grown boy, good body length and weight with proportionate limbs and short strong paws, his bushy tail is a fraction on the short side for balance with the body. Sparkling white feet markings, his gloves are generous but even across the front of the paws, albeit they both flick to the sides and the white reaches the pads at the backs. Gauntlets are good length and matching. Disappointingly, his coat colour is quite shaded for one so young, but is still just clear at the roots, though he has a patchy coloured chest and belly, being very pale under the front legs, and much darker around his belly. Relaxed and laid back boy, easy to handle.

I liked the size of this young lad, he has a long body, of excellent weight and proportions, with thick set limbs, short paws and a very good length tail which balances well. Good breadth to skull, his ears look a fraction on the large side, better when he relaxed more in his pen, medium length nose with slight dip to the profile, but he does have a slight nose bump. Cheeks are full, muzzle could be a little stronger for perfection, level bite. Almost round blue eyes are expressive, he has such a gentle look. Sparkling white feet markings, his gloves flick to the outsides, the right reaches the stopper pad at the back but does not go past, whilst his gauntlets are both fairly long albeit the right trickles to a finish. His ivory coat is a little short in length, but well presented and his points colouring is a little patchy, particularly his tail which is paler than ideal. I was also concerned that he might have a few stray white hairs close to the hocks on both back feet, but gave him the benefit of the doubt today. I deliberated for some time whether to award his certificate, as I just felt that he wasn’t really sparkling, but concluded it would have been harsh to withhold without a specific and objective reason.
CLASS 37 TABBY POINT BIRMAN NEUTER MALE
I really enjoyed the challenge of separating these two smashing boys today, both worthy of the certificate and both with many qualities. After much deliberation, I chose the gorgeous cream tabby who was slightly more substantial and was wearing a slightly thicker and longer coat which really made him look the more complete picture.
PC & BOB, MURRAY’S DALTEEMA KREAMKRAKA, 13c17, CREAM TABBY POINT, 03.06.08
An impressive looking boy of excellent body size and weight, really strong and well balanced. Excellent Birman type and look, well placed medium sized ears, fairly full cheeks and firm chin. Medium length to nose with slight dip to the profile. Expressive, deep blue eyes are framed by very light coloured spectacle markings against his cream tabby mask, hint of a butterfly marking under the nose. Fortunately for us, the sun shone just as I was examining his feet markings, as the creamy colours on the points are still coming through making the precise area of white on the gloves in particular a little difficult to establish! The gloves appear even and fairly generous, gauntlets are full and medium in length. Excellent body size and weight, really strong and well balanced. Super presentation, his off-white coat was long and thick, so soft and he has a ruff to frame the head, whilst his soft cream tabby markings contrast delicately. My congratulations on his Best in Show Male Neuter win later in the day, his owners were ecstatic, well done. .
2ND, ROBINSON’S PR BULLAMOOR CASANOVA, 13c11, SEAL TABBY POINT, 16.07.06
I’ve judged this very handsome lad before, he has the most wonderful expression, so charismatic yet gentle, just as a Casanova should be (I believe)!! Very pleasing Birman type, good breadth and round contours to skull, medium sized well placed ears with thumb marks, slight dip to the profile, good chin and level bite. Almost round eyes are deep blue in colour and framed by light beige coloured spectacle markings. Good size and weight, long body with proportionate limbs and paws, bushy ringed tail to balance well. Pristine white feet markings, gloves are even, gauntlets are a good length and fairly full, albeit the left is a whisker narrow than the right. Well presented soft and silky coat is pale beige, just seasonally short at the moment and contrasting with his striking seal tabby markings that are well defined, particularly his M marking on the forehead and around his cheeks, though his nose and mouth are more solid dark seal colour as if he has dipped his head in chocolate! His nature is simply sublime, just the most perfect showbench temperament and no doubt a wonderful companion at home.

I was very pleased to be asked to judge at this Show, on the edge of the Lake District, and I always feel that it is a special honour to be invited to a breed Show. It was a lovely spring day, pity to be inside, but the Show Hall and the delicious lunch plus, of course, the lovely cats, made it all worthwhile. I was extremely lucky to have Edward Irving as my steward, and he was both very competent and supportive, what more can one ask for in a steward. I was particularly struck by the number of really young adults, many only just over nine months old, and a good sign for the future, I am sure.

1 & IMPERIAL GR CH Mlynek & Hayward's GR CH MLYWARD MLYKO 19.4.2004
Cream Point. He was not a happy bunny today, but my steward handled him very kindly and firmly, so he was able to win his Imperial award, which I understand made him up to the full title. Broad full head, wide top, medium ears of very good cool cream shade, full cheeks tapering to a comfortably broad firm muzzle, fair bite and firm deep chin. Very good neat profile dip. Nearly round deep sapphire blue eyes. Defined cream diamond mask and pink nose leather. Long and substantial body, and balanced medium length tail, a full cream brush, which was a good match with the points colour all round. The best coat texture, soft and silky, and colour, off-white with a faint golden hue, and very good contrasts. Neat gloves, medium socks and longish gauntlets, sparkling white against the cream and all nicely groomed, as one expects, but doesn't always see! He had the edge on maturity, definitely masculine, aproper traditional Birman man.
2. & RESERVE IMPERIAL GR CH McGowan's GR CH BULLAMOOR SUNBURST 20.7.2007
Red Point. Youthful but very nice and he has obviously been successful this far, plenty of future for him to look forward to. Broad head, super red ears, strong profile dip, full cheeks, neat bite, deep firm chin, and beautiful nearly round deep sapphire blue eyes. Pale pink nose leather, and springy white whiskers. Excellent body length, and boning, full plumy tail just long enough for balance, and sound red to match points. Soft thick coat, curly tum, the old traditional Birman coat, shady over the back but quite clear at base. Excellent contrasts all round. Neat gloves, medium socks, medium length gauntlets nicely pointed.

Blue Point. Strong blue points, standing out against the clear glacial bluish white coat. Full broad head, medium ears, profile dip a little flat, broad muzzle, neat bite, firm chin. Very good nearly round blue eyes, a little bold. Good length plump body, full silky tail, just long enough to balance and strong legs. Coat a little coarse over the back, but clearing from the base. Lovely silky ruff framing her face. Neat gloves, short matching socks, gauntlets a little on the short side but nicely pointed, right one better than left. Good grooming and pleasant temperament, a mature lady and well deserving of the award.
2 & RESERVE GR CH Brown's CH DALTEEMA DIAMANTE DOLLY 6.2.2007
Cream Point. Good broad head, still faintly kittenish in expression, rather sweet. Wide medium sized
vcry good cream ears, neat profile dip, full cheeks tapering to broad muzzle and level bite. Pink nose leather.
Clear nearly round sapphire blue eyes, with very faint spectacles. Good length of body, sturdy legs, and matching medium length full bushy tail, good cream as well, good points match all round. Lovely clear off-white coat with faint golden hue over shoulders, and the faintly curly base of tum, soft and silky over back. Low gloves, short socks and neat pointed gauntlets.
Two very good feminine Birman ladies.

Red Point. I did not realise until I read the catalogue that Dan and Dolly are father and daughter. What a pair. Strong head type, very masculine. Broad top, and good medium size ears, neat profile dip with little curve to broad pink nose leather with three freckles. Good bite, broad muzzle, chin could be a little stronger. Nearly round clear mediterranean blue eyes. Long and large body, balanced medium length full tail, red on topside, paler underneath. Coat texture, soft and silky, and colour, pale cream with slight golden halo, could not be faulted. I'ront legs pale red, gloves looked a little vague, medium length socks, gauntlets to hock, not very common these days. A worthy winner against very strong competition.
2 & RESERVE GR PR Robinson's PR BULLAMOOR CASANOVA 16.7.2006
Seal Tabby Point. Very good contrasts and tabby mask, which I think gives them a little start in the appearance stakes, though his ears were quite plain, and tail rings very pale. Broad head, medium size ears, neat profile dip, level bite and decent chin depth. Pink nose leather outlined in seal. Nearly round sapphire blue eyes with spectacles, spotted whisker pads and good 'M" on forehead. Long body, strong and firm, legs to match, and medium length thick tail plume. Soft and silky coat texture, clear pale beige with slight golden hue, no shading, leg bars right to the top of front legs, and showing on back legs. Neat gloves, medium socks and quite good gauntlets.
What a class of eight exhibits, all present, and consideration of tiny points was needed to reach the final decision. It is an honour to have such a large class, and a pity that only two can be given an award.

Seal Point. Approaching her sixteenth birthday, and wonderful for her age. It is hard to beat a really good 'senior' and she well deserved the award. Literally no faults that I could detect, and her eye colour was just as deep blue as one a quarter of her age. Broad head, medium size deep seal ears, net profile dip, seal nose leather, broad muzzle, level bite and good deep chin. Long firm body, strong legs and medium length full bushy tail. Good points match all round. Silky coat shortish at present, but excellent very pale beige in shade, and excellent contrasts. It is so pleasing that the owner has brought her out to be admired, and show what a good Birman can and should, be like.

1 CC & BOB Mellor's BULLAMOOR BRAVEHEART 5.6.2008
Still a big kitten but actually looking quite mature, although he looked apprehensive as well. Broad head, good medium ears, strong profile dip with nose curving below. Level bite, fairly good chin depth. Two-tone nearly round blue eyes, hint of brindling round the left eye, and colour deepening from centre, but complete diamond face mask. Well grown for his age, and quite substantial, with balanced medium length tail, quite full. Very pale coat, even beige all over. Curly base of tum. Legs and tail still pale seal. I did hesitate over awarding the certificate, but on thinking it over his little defects were cosmetic, due to his age and NOT of type. A little attention to paw pads would enhance his grooming. A promising lad.

A real 'chuffer’ Birman people will know what I mean. Although very young, barely adult, she had wonderful contrasts with deep seal points and very pale coat. Wideset medium ears, rather straight profile, level bite, full cheeks tapering to broad muzzle, level bite and fairly good chin depth. Nearly round eyes deeper blue in the centre. Good size for her age, quite substantial bone, full tail a wee short. Excellent coat in texture and colour, and well groomed, though for perfection on the show bench claws need clipping too. Neat gloves and socks, and a real pair of matching gauntlets.
2. Black's SNOWWITCH PANDORAOFLIZZARA 28.6.2007
Good width of head with medium seal ears. Profile rather straight, full cheeks tapering to muzzle, little gap in level bite, and chin a little weak. Nearly round eyes, still faintly two-tone but basically good blue. Good body length and boning, a substantial girly. Nice tail, medium in length and full brush, and good points match all round. Soft silky coat, pale beige, with just a little light back shading, but good contrasts. Just not quite at her best today, quiet but not happy, and it does affect their overall appearance.
BLUE POINT ADULT MALE
1 CC & BOB Mlynek & Hayward's MLYNEK MUNCHKIN 27.6.2008
A pretty boy, but definitely masculine. I certainly don't think that he had short legs though, he was very well proportioned, and very good body length, boning and size, strong shoulders, and with broad legs to match. Good head, wideset ears, profile dip a little shallow, but full cheeks, broad muzzle, level bite, and decent chin depth. Beautiful nearly round blue eyes, looking happy. Tail just long enough for balance, but a full plume, with very good points match, sound blue all round. Soft silky coat, bluish white, clear all over, very good grooming, and he was very well behaved too. Gloves, socks and gauntlets all present and correct. Only just adult, but very promising I think,
BLUE POINT ADULT FEMALE
No entry present.
CHOCOLATE OR LILAC POINT ADULT MALE
1 CC & BOB Burman's JANDOUGLEN LEA WOOD BEAU 21.5.2008
Lilac Point. Only ten months and rather fat, but he looked nice. He must enjoy his dinner. Broad head, wide top, good medium size cars, bluish lilac but very good points contrast, neat profile dip, full cheeks tapering to a broad muzzle, good bite, and fairly good chin depth. Very good blue eyes, nearly round but not quite. Excellent body length, sound boning, balanced medium length full tail, a little pale lilac. Lovely coat texture, soft, silky and well groomed, and absolutely even off-white magnolia in shade. Neat gloves and socks, right gauntlet better shape than left. Quiet temperament, and he won the BOB by a whisker!
CHOCOLATE OR LILAC POINT ADULT FEMALE
1 CC Mlynek & Hayward's MLYWARD SONIE LARILIE 27.6.2008
Lilac Point. I am sure her name must mean something? Still kittenish but growing well, and she was purring which gives her an extra point in my book! Broad head with good width top, medium ears sound pinkish lilac. Profile dip and nose a little straight. Full cheeks tapering to broad muzzle, level bite, good firm chin. Sound body length and boning, good medium length tail, full brush, rather pale lilac as is often the case. Super coat for texture, length and colour - soft, silky and off-white magnolia. Perfect SOP description. Gloves a little uneven, socks a bit ragged, right gauntlet better than left, which was 'a bit to one side' but the type was there. Nicely groomed and well behaved.
RED OR CREAM POINT ADULT MALE
There were no entries in the Open Class, but two exhibits for Best of Breed, which went to Mlynek & Hayward's GR CH MLYWARD MLYKO.
RED OR CREAM POINT ADULT FEMALE
1 CC Bridge's PENBERIS EVENING STAR 1.10.2007
Red Point. What a pretty name. This was a large class, and Star had strong competition. Her type was definitely the deciding factor. Very good head, lovely width, full cheeks, broad muzzle, and good red ears. Neat profile dip, level bite with a little gap in the middle of the top teeth, and firm chin. Nearly round eyes just a little bold, but beautiful blue. Excellent body length, strong legs and shoulders, medium length tail, full brush, red shade just a little patchy, and the legs pale red, but not unusual in dilute shades. Lovely soft and silky coat, very faint back shading otherwise pale cream all over with faint golden hue, and very good contrasts. Good red mask with pink nose leather. Foot markings quite clear, despite the pale legs, neat gloves and socks, gauntlets quite a good match. A very promising young adult.
2. Pool's DALTEEMA SARMOYAH TOPAZ 29.5.2008
Cream Point. First impression - very long whiskers, sparkling white. Only ten months old, but developing well. Good balanced head, medium ears just a little on the warm side, as was the tail, full brush and medium length but paler and true cream at the tip. Neat profile dip, with pink nose leather, level bite, fairly good chin depth, and cream diamond mask. Beautiful eye colour, transparent clear blue' nearly round but not quite. Substantial body, good length, sound legs and paws. Good coat texture, soft and silky, off-white with faintest golden hue, and good contrasts despite very pale legs, not surprising at her young age. Tum just a little bit ragged otherwise good grooming. Foot markings just visible, quite neat all round, level gloves, medium gauntlets.
3. Doble's BULLAMOOR PEONIEROSE 22.5.2008
Seal Tortie Point. Lovely width to head. A touch short overall in the face, but very cute and she was purring with excellent show temperament and grooming to match. Very good ears and mask, deep blue eyes to die for. Curvy profile dip, level bite, quite good chin depth. Good size body and boning, medium length full bushy tail a lovely Birman plume. Fabulous coat, thick, soft and silky, absolutely clear, very pale no shading at all. The seal and shades of light and dark red are still a little 'short' especially on the rear left leg which seemed to lack seal, and pale all through. This is due to her age and will improve. Very low gloves and socks, gauntlets a fair match.
Only the winner was over a year old, all the rest were ten months or so, and tortie colours are often slow to develop. This sort of entry can only be a good augury for the future
BLUE POINT BIRMAN NEUTER MALE
1 PR & BOB Rance's PR BAYGAZER VISION IN BLUE 7.6.2007
Mature broad head with full cheeks and muzzle, good medium ears, neat profile dip, level bite and firm chin. Nearly round medium sapphire blue eyes. Substantial boning, and good body length, strong legs and medium length full tail. Medium blue points, good match but tail a little 'mixey' not quite so even in shade. Broad top, neat profile dip, slate grey nose leather, level bite, full cheeks and muzzle. Good coat texture, thick and soft, very faint back shading otherwise bluish white all over. Low gloves, colour down outside toe of left glove, medium socks, nicely pointed gauntlets. A mature man.
RED OR CREAM POINT BIRMAN NEUTER MALE
1 & PR Warren's LILIPHAR RICKY 2.7.2006
Cream Point. Beautiful eyes and expression. 'The Birman Look'. Broad head, wideset medium ears, a little hot cream, shallow profile dip, pink nose leather, full cheeks tapering to a comfortable broad muzzle. Level bite. Chin of good depth recedes just a little. Excellent build, long body, substantial boning, and very good medium length full bushy tail, cream just a little patchy in shade. Very good contrasts in the dilute colour, very pale off-white with faint golden halo, and sound cream points, especially good cream legs, and defined diamond mask. Neat foot markings all round, level gloves, socks and fair matching gauntlets.
BOB Brown's GR CH & GR PR DALTEEMA DIAMOND DAN.
He really had a superb coat.
RED CREAM OR TORTIE BIRMAN NEUTER FEMALE
1 PR Platt's UK GRCH PENBERIS ROSAMUND 11.9.2002
Seal Torlie Point. Beautiful ears for shape and attractive tortie shades of red and seal. She had a cute mask pattern as well, but of course the type was there, full broad head, neat profile dip, a mature shape, broad muzzle, level bite and proper chin. Nearly round medium sapphire eyes, which always seem to stand out more against the mask. Very good body all over, she was properly plump, and balanced medium length tail, mottled tortie colours not quite so strong but all there. Back very shady at the moment, with fawn and reds showing, but the coat was clearing from the base. Gloves a little uneven, colour right to top of dewclaw at back of right one, socks and gauntlets a better match. A senior lady worthy of the award.
My grateful thanks to show manager Mrs Vanessa Keeping and her team for inviting me to judge at the 3rd championship show. The hospitality was absolutely excellent. We had wonderful exhibits, and a very pleasurable day. Many thanks to my steward Ms Liz Johnson, her expert and sympathetic handling of the cats made our day run very smoothly.
