Mrs J Allen

Sincere thanks to Anne, Brian and the Committee for their kind invitation to judge at this wonderful show.  I was made so welcome and had a fantastic day among the Norwegians!  Sincere thanks must go to John Tipper for volunteering at the eleventh hour to steward for me – thanks so much John for your great humour, company and very experienced handling of the exhibits.  I really appreciated your help and hope that we can get together again later in the year!
AC TABBY 14 WEEKS TO 6 MONTHS KITTEN:
1 WHITTLE’S VERDICATZ SHAKIRA 67 20 3.9.08.  This young lady was nicely balanced with a pleasing triangular head shape which at the moment was slightly longer than equilateral. Large ears well spaced on her head and with very nice tufts and following the lines of the head. Nicely shaped forehead.  Almost straight profile and with quite a strong chin to give overall quite a good facial balance.  Large well open eyes that were obliquely set. Nice length to her body and long, well boned limbs.  Round tufted paws.  Her tail was to her shoulders in length and nicely furnished.  Her coat was very well developed showing a definite double coat with thick under coat covered by longer, harsh guard hairs.  Very well shown and sweet to handle.
2 NORTON’S NORSVANA SEHANINE AVVRADAL 67 18g 6.9.08.  There was really very little to choose from between the first and second kitten. Very attractive younger lady.  Her head shape was already equilateral in shape with quite large ears set high and open on her head.  Forehead not quite so well developed as the winner.  Almost straight profile and adequate chin to just about balance.  Her eyes were large and slightly oriental in their setting. Her body was long and well filled, long well boned limbs with rounded, tufted paws.  Adequate length tail that was nicely furnished. Well shown.
3 WHITTLE’S VERDICATZ CARA 67 20 3.9.08.  This young lady, litter sister to the winner in this class was not as well balanced, having rather a longer triangular face and at present lacking the width to balance. Large ears set a little close together, as her head needs to broaden.  Her eyes were a little too round in shape. Slight dip to profile and her chin still needs to develop further to give balance to her lower face.  Promising body length but her tail was a little on the short side.  Her coat was developing well with plenty of glossy, harsher guard hairs but the undercoat still to develop further.  Nicely shown and may well need further time to develop facially.
AC TABBY 6 – 9 MONTHS KITTEN MALE:
1 GRANT’S NOYNAROCK AUGUSTUS 67 20 23.5.08.  This young man was simply huge!  So well grown for his age.  Promising head shape with large ears, open and high set at the extremities of his triangular head.  Expressive large and well opened eyes that were slightly obliquely set.  Almost straight profile, with reasonable height of forehead.  Quite a good strength of chin that made for quite a harmonious head type. Long body and tail with such a well filled body.  Long, well boned limbs, the hind legs slightly longer than the front. Super round paw with furry tufts. Long coat that was very thick in undercoat and demonstrating some coarse top coat.  A little more show preparation would have just finished him off to perfection.
AC TABBY 6 – 9 MONTHS KITTEN FEMALE:
1 BOB GRANT’S NOYNAROCK SIGNYSVALRDATTER 67 20 23.5.08.   Litter sister to Augustus and won the Best of Breed as I felt she just had the edge for refinement of type, quality of coat and that certain elegance overall!  Very nice triangular head shape with the length just a little longer than equilateral at present.  Long straight profile with nice rise at forehead and firm chin. Large oval eyes that were nicely opened and expressive.  Large well set ears with great width at the base and following the lines of her head.  Long body and super length of tail, however I do hope that she continues to grow a little more in her development! Nicely boned legs with round, tufted paws.  Her hind legs just a little longer than the fore limbs.  Super coat that was in excellent condition, woolly undercoat with super glossy, harsh top coat in evidence.  Her tail was nice and bushy and to her shoulders. Very well shown female with that real elegance and attitude.  BOB was a close thing but went to the female on overall elegance and balance.
2 ELMS NOYNAROCK BIBIKA 67 18e 31.7.08.  Confident young lady with an equilateral head shape already with good width to top and well set quite large ears.  Expressive eyes that would have benefitted from being a little more oriental in set. Quite a strong chin and almost straight profile. Long body with long limbs, and tufted paws.  Her tail was just about long enough but very well furnished. Her coat texture was developing nicely with some evidence of the desired double coat. Nicely shown with very attractive coat patterning and colouring.
3 HANDY’S NOYNAROCK MYSTIC MEG 67 18e 31.7.08.  Litter sister to Bibika and in many ways very similar in appearance, my deciding factors in the placing came down to her eye size and shape being slightly more round in shape and needing to fill out a little further in the width of her head, at present being a little fine in her head shape as yet. However again very nicely shown and such an attractive colouring.
AC NORWEGIAN FOREST ADULT – A:
1 HANDY’S NORSKMAGI RAGNOR 67 31s 2.3.07.  Pleasing male with triangular head shape, quite large ears set high and with open set following the lines of his head.  Long almost straight profile with nice chin to balance his head.  Expressive eyes of good size and set. Long body with well boned limbs.  Round tufted paws. Hind legs slightly longer than front.  Super long tail just spoilt by the tarnishing! Double coat with thick undercoat and nice glossy slightly harsher guard hairs.  I just loved his cute white snip to his face and the super smoke contrasts.  Well shown and I hope that the rusty tone on his tail goes as his new coat develops further.
2 GRANT’S NOYNAROCK ATHENE 67 18 9.8.06.  Mature female with a triangular head shape.  Her ears were a little low on her skull but that may well have been due to the fact she was not overly enthralled at being handled at that time! Slight bump to her profile with a fairly strong chin.  Expressive eyes that were well opened and set obliquely.  Nice length of body with firm limbs and long tail. Double coat that was well shown.
3 JEACOCK’S WEESAMS PANDORA 67 31 6.3.08.  Youngest in the class but promising features. Triangular head with large ears set high and open following the head lines from her nose.  Large expressive eyes that were quite well set and well opened. Straight profile but her chin need to be stronger to balance.  Long frame that was nicely filled and with long, well boned limbs.  Round paws with nice tufts.  Long tail that was nicely furnished.  Very nice double coat with thick undercoat covered by a smoother overcoat of glossy, harsher guard hairs.
AC NORWEGIAN FOREST ADULT – B:
1 HUGHES NORMAGIKATT KNASIR THEA 67 16 8.4.08.  Pleasing young female with triangular head shape nicely balanced.  Well set quite large ears following the lines of her head. Straight profile with an adequate chin strength. For me her eyes were a little small and not as well opened as I would have liked.  Long, proportionate frame with long limbs demonstrating the typical NFC stance. Super, long bushy tail. Very well shown coat that had wonderful density, thick undercoat with glossy, harsher guard hairs covering her back, sides and tail.
2 HEALING’S GR CH JARRAHKATT AZZARA 67 31t 4.9.01.  Mature female with a nice triangular head, and adequately sized ears set at the outer edges and following the lines of her head.  Straight profile with reasonable strength to her chin.   Lovely large sized eyes that were oval and obliquely set and taking everything in!  Long frame her tail just reaching to the shoulders. Good boning to her legs and tufted paws.  Double coat evident with thick under coat covered by longer, glossy coarser guard hairs.  Well shown.
3 SKULSKIS SHANLIVLE PARIS 67 31ets 23.4.08.  A little bit immature but a promising young lady! Nicely shaped triangular head with large ears set high and open and following the lines of her head.  Almost straight profile and a nice line from forehead to nose.  Super strength to her chin giving her face good balance.  Expressive eyes that were large, well opened and obliquely set.  Long elegant body and tail reaching to her shoulders.  Although she was moulting there was evidence of the double coat with some thickness of her undercoat overlaid by a glossy, harsher top coat.  Well shown.
AC LIMIT ADULT:
1 DOUGLAS FENRISULVEN GENEVIEVE 67 20a 26.3.07.  Pleasing female with triangular head shape, long straight profile and adequate chin to balance. Expressive eyes large, and nicely set.  Large ears set high and open on her skull following the lines of her head.  Long body, elegant lines with well boned limbs, round paws that were nicely tufted.  Long, bushy tail. Her coat was really very nice with super thick woolly undercoat and glossy slightly harsh top coat. Very well shown.
2 TUCKER’S JHARDFAE NORDICNITE QUEEN 67 31ts 14.4.08.  Very attractive young female with an equilateral triangle shaped head. Large ears, set nicely and with good width at base, following the line of the triangle from her jaw.  Almost straight profile with good line from nose to forehead.  Large, expressive oval eyes that were very expressive and well opened.  Her chin to have been a little stronger to give full balance to her face but as she still quite young hopefully this develop a little more with maturity. Her body shape was long and quite muscular with super long tail that stretched to her shoulders.  Her coat was developing nicely with good thick undercoat and the more glossy coarse top coat developing over her shoulders, back and tail.  Very well shown.
3 HALL’S BAGGINS FIELDS OF GOLD 67 20  20.1.08.  This female was a little older but still very much a baby in looks. Triangular head shape with rather small ears placed well apart on her skull.  Her head shape was rather longer at present with an almost straight profile and nice lines to her forehead. Her nose was rather broad detracting a little from the elegance of her overall expression. Oval eyes that could have been just a shade or two larger.  Adequate chin to balance her facially.  Long body and tail with long limbs and quite a substantial feel to her.  Her coat was nice and thick, the top coat still to develop thus giving a slightly soft feel to her coat at the present time.  Very nicely presented and again very nice to handle.
AC DEBUTANTE KITTEN – A:
1 PINCH’S CHALCEDON SILVER SPARKLE 67 31ets  29.7.08. Very stylish kitten, slightly long triangular head shape as yet with large ears well placed, high on his skull and following the outer line of his head.  Expressive eyes that were large and nicely set.  Virtually straight profile with chin developing well.  Nicely build frame with long body and well developing limbs.  Super long tail that was bushy and reaching to the back of his neck.  Coat developing with evidence of thick undercoat and some glossy harsher guard hairs on shoulders and back and tail.  Nicely shown.
2 HUGHES NORMAGIKATT SPARKLING STAR 67 31  3.8.08.  Very well grown young lady with slightly long triangular head shape at present. Nicely set large ears.  Virtually straight profile with a firm chin to balance. Eyes well set, for me could have been a little larger in size.  Long frame with nicely boned limbs.  Long, bush tail.  Very well shown coat that was showing a promising double coat, the glossy harsher guard hairs evident on her shoulders and some down her back and tail.
3 RUBERY’S RAFFKIN PHOENIX FLAME  67 31dt 6.9.08.  Baby of the class! Pleasing triangular head development with promising size ears nicely set on her head and following the lines of her head.  Obliquely set, large eyes that she used well! Almost straight profile with quite a nice strength of chin developing.  Nice length of body and tail.  Rather a baby coat texture as yet but with some evidence of coarser guard hairs coming on her shoulders.  Well shown and confident baby.
AC DEBUTANTE KITTEN – B:
1 PORTER’S NOYNAROCK RAGNASVLARDATTER 67 22  25.5.08.  A really attractive kitten in really flashy colours!!! Pleasing triangular head shape with large, well set ears.  Virtually straight profile with chin developing to balance her face.  Large, oval well opened eyes obliquely set and so expressive.  Long body and tail with nice muscular feel to her.  Nice boning to her limbs.  Round, tufted paws.  Her coat was developing really well with thick undercoat and the glossier coarser guard hairs developing on her shoulders, back and tail.  Very well show and confident kitten.  My favourite cat rosette winner!
2 TUCKER’S RAFFKIN WILLOW WAND 67 31et 16.9.08.  I was really hard pushed between this kitten and my winner.  Much younger baby and very attractively put together! Triangular head shape with large, well placed ears following the lines of her head.  Straight profile but I would like a slightly higher forehead.  Chin developing to balance her expression.  Large, oval eyes that were nicely set and opened.  Promising long body and tail length to her shoulders. Strong limbs and lovely firm feel to her body.  Her coat was developing well with thick undercoat and some coarseness over her shoulders, back and tail.  Very well shown.
3 HEALING’S SISKADELL MOONLIT DAWN 67 31 19.7.08.  Sweet youngster with equilateral triangle shaped head with quite large ears well placed, high and reasonably open set. Slight dip in her profile and her chin developing in depth at the moment. Her eyes were a little round in shape and appeared somewhat bold.  Long body and tail with very nice body weight.  Very nice development of her double coat with both elements present and very well shown.
AC NORWEGIAN FOREST TABBY WITHOUT WHITE NEUTER:
1 HEALING’S CH JHARDUFAE BEANO BEN (TICA CH) 67 18  9.8.03.  Mature boy with adequate sized ears placed quite high on his triangular shaped head.  Large, oval eyes that were very alert and obliquely set. Almost straight profile with nice forehead and quite a firm chin to give an overall nicely balanced expression.  Very large frame with super length to his body, long super boning to his limbs, the hind slightly longer giving that typical stance.  Long tail that was very bushy. He was in full coat, thick undercoat covered with slightly harsh, glossy top coat.  Excellently presented and very nice to handle.
2 HIGHAM’S NOYNAROCK JOHAN 67 19 19.4.06.  Very well grown lad with quite a long triangular head.  Large ears fairly widely set. Almost straight profile with good forehead and quite a firm chin.  Large eyes that were really expressive, oval in shape and obliquely set.  Long frame and tail with nice body weight.  Long well boned limbs. Round paws with nice snow shoes!  Very well shown with a nice double coat, thick undercoat and overlaid with glossy and slightly coarse top coat.
3 BATES FENRISULVEN KENZO 67 18 21.4.08.  A more immature and slightly smaller male with triangular head shape. Quite large ears set high on his head.  Almost straight profile with adequate chin.  Large, expressive eyes that were obliquely set.  Promising frame, long but still needing to develop further.  Long limbs with tufted paws.  Quite a long tail. Slightly greasy coat texture and needing a little more show preparation.
 AC MAIDEN NEUTER:
1 PATTERSON’S FORESTSHADOW CONAN 67 31t 18.4.08.  Very pleasing, elegant young man! Triangular head with large ears set high and openly on his head and following the lines of the head. Expressive eyes very nicely set and large and well opened.  Straight profile with nice depth of chin to balance. Strongly built, long body and tail.  Very nicely boned limbs with round tufted paws.  Long tail that was bushy reaching to his shoulder blades.  His coat was short but still displaying the desired double texture.  Very well shown and nice to handle.
2 MACDONALD’S JHARDUFAE DUELLINGBANJOS (TICA SGCA) 67 31 22.11.06.  More mature exhibit equilateral triangular head shape with large ears nicely placed on his head.  Expressive eyes that were large, well opened and obliquely set.  Straight profile with rather a wide nose that detracted a little from the overall balance. Adequate chin.  Long body that was very well filled!  Long, bushy tail. Long coat that was so well presented and the thick woolly undercoat covered with slightly harsher top coat.
3 EMERY’S JHARDUFAE BANDIX JAX 67 31  29.10.07.  Loved this boy’s pirate patch over his eye! Nice triangular head shape with large, well placed ears.  Expressive large eyes that were obliquely set and well opened.  Straight profile, just a little more depth of chin needed for full facial balance.   Long frame with long, well boned legs.  Tufted paws. Long tail reaching to his shoulders. Well shown coat that was thick with the desired resistance to the top coat.
THE HANDSOMEST MALE ADULT, KITTEN OR NEUTER:  These three boys were all real hunks and it was really a tough job to decide who made my knees go the weakest!
1 LINDGREN’S MARAJADE ALFREDTHEGREAT 67 20 brown tabby.  Regal looking and  most mature boy, with those eyes that just stole my heart.
2 RUBERY’S NOYNAROCK SPARTACUS 67 31AT.  Just loved the disposition of this male, he has such presence as well as incredible good looks!
3 BATES FENRISULVEN KASPAR 67 18d red silver tabby.  Sweet baby in the class, given time he will certainly hold his own in the good looks stakes! Super coat and very well shown.

A sweet tortie smoke girl of 5 months with a lovely purry nature.  Triangular head with a straight profile, deep strong chin & level bite.  Tall ears with small tufts & inner furnishing; set high & open though a little close together at present but hopefully this will improve as her head broadens with age.  Large eyes of oval shape in a slightly oblique setting.  Very elegant with lovely body shape, long body carried high on strong limbs.  Large round feet with lovely tufted toes.  Long bushy tail.  Well-prepared coat, the length developing with the beginnings of a ruff.  Woolly undercoat starting to develop.  Shown in excellent condition and very easy to handle.

3 HUGHES’S NORMAGIKATT SPARKLING STAR (67 31) F 03.08.08. A black & white girl of 6 months, mainly black with white on her chin, chest, tummy & feet.  Triangular head with an almost straight profile, just a very slight nose bump. Level bite but her chin could be stronger though the white doesn’t help.  Well-set ears with good inner furnishings but no tufts.  Oval eyes in an oblique setting but they could be larger.  Long body with strong limbs with good bone but they could be a little longer.  Large tufted feet & quite long tail.  Coat developing, mainly undercoat at present with some bushiness to the tail.  A gentle girl who was easy to handle.
4 HEALING’S SISKADELL MOONLIT DAWN (67 31) F 19.07.08.  A black & white girl of 7 months, mainly black with a white inverted facial “V”, white on her toes & chest.  Triangular head with a practically straight profile.  Level bite & deep chin that could be a fraction stronger.  Well-set ears but they could be larger & broader at the base, no tufts & little inner furnishing.  Large wide open eyes but she was a little nervous & she tended to round her eyes.  Long body with reasonably strong bone.  Long legs & large round feet, long tail with a slight pip at the tip.  Coat length developing, mainly undercoat at present.  A rather shy girl and not as showy as the other 3 in the class.

Mrs D Butters

My thanks to Anne, Brian and the committee for a very well organised show, with a lovely friendly atmosphere. I stepped in to take over Sally Tokens’ classes when she was unable to come, due to an injury. I hope that Sally is much better very soon and that the exhibitors were not too disappointed with the judge change. My special thanks to Mark Pearman, who came along to steward for me, and as always we had a lovely day together. Mark is such good company and handles the cats so well. We had lots of beautiful cats and the quality of the breed continues to go from strength to strength.

AC TABBY & WHITE (14 WEEKS TO 6 MONTHS) KITTEN, MALE
1ST & BOB, GRANT’S NOYNAROCK RAHL, 67 31t, 15.09.08
Brown Tabby & White. Just over five months old and this young man already has a strong masculine head with a very good triangular shape and excellent overall length. Large ears, currently sitting about an ear’s width apart and extremely well furnished with tips and tufts. Lovely alert expression, typical of the breed, with large green eyes, set obliquely. Straight nasal profile, though there is a tiny bump present. Chin quite firm and of good depth. Lovely long muscular body, wonderful heavy boning to limbs and paws with back legs visibly longer than the front ones. Tail reached the shoulders, but could be just a touch longer for perfection, it was well furnished with a bushy texture. Long baby coat, lots of woolly undercoat evident with guardhairs developing, typical softer kitten coat texture at the moment. Nicely marked classic tabby pattern with white to face, tummy and feet. Overall, I felt that he had the edge over the other three winners, as I felt that he was the best balanced for age, had a very promising coat developing and a great expression. Super to handle and beautifully presented. A kitten with lots of potential for the future.

AC TABBY & WHITE (14 WEEKS TO 6 MONTHS) KITTEN, FEMALE
1ST TUCKER’S RAFFKIN WILLOW WAND, 67 31et, 16.09.08
Tortie-Tabby & White. Another promising kitten with rich vibrant colours to the coat. Well furnished ears, set high on the head and large in size. Triangular head shape, already showing equilateral sides and a very good straight line to the nose. Green eyes, oval shaped and set quite obliquely. Firm chin. Lovely body shape, size and length, well boned legs and large round paws. Tail was very well furnished indeed, just about reached the shoulders. Ruff evident, nicely grown knickerbockers, coat length developing down the back and sides of the body with woolly undercoat and glossy guardhairs present. I feel that as a adult she should have a very nice coat indeed. Rich mixture of red and brown tabby showing contrast with the white areas. Very well groomed indeed and very easy to handle. She later became Best in Show Kitten, congratulations to her owner and breeder, a very nice young lady.
2ND RUBERY’S RAFFKIN PHOENIX FLAME, 67 31dt, 6.09.08
Red Tabby & White. Although the dates of birth are different for these two girls, they are actually litter sisters, according to their parentage so I suspect that there has been a slight clerical error. Unsurprisingly, this girl has a similar ‘look’ to her sister, with a triangular head shape, though slightly rounded in the muzzle area, which I put down to her teething. Quite large ears, set in line with the outlines of the triangular head, they were well furnished and sitting about an ear’s width apart. Oval eyes, set quite obliquely, green/gold in colour. Straight line to the nose. Chin quite firm. Long body, nice weight for size, overall this girl is slightly smaller than her sister, though well balanced. Quite large boning to legs and feet. Balanced tail, well furnished and bushy, balancing the body and reaching the shoulders. Ruff developing around the neck, full knickerbockers, coat length developing down the body with woolly undercoat already present. White flash up the nose, white to bib, chest, underbody and feet. Quite a warm shade of red tabby to the head, body and tail. Lovely to handle.

AC TABBY & WHITE (6 TO 9 MONTHS) KITTEN, MALE
This was a challenging class as all three lads had some very good points and it was difficult to split these three up to place them.
1ST MILLWARD’S NORSKFAE SHOELESS JOE, 67 31at, M, 01.06.08
Blue Tabby & White. I loved this boy’s expression, he really looks down his nose at you, just what I like to see in a NFC. Excellent triangular shape to the head with very good breadth to the top of skull. Very well placed ears, sitting in line with the rest of the triangle, ideally they could be a touch larger though they were very well furnished indeed. Beautiful nasal profile, with a long straight line, slightly rounded forehead. Large oval eyes, set in a really good oblique set, pale green in colour. He does lack chin strength and depth, otherwise he has a very nice head indeed. Deceptively heavy body, very well muscled and long, Substantial boning to limbs and large round paws. Well balanced and beautifully furnished tail, reaching the shoulders. Full coat, ruff around the neck, glossy and slightly coarser guardhairs covering the woolly undercoat. Blue classic tabby pattern with white to limbs, tummy and face. Wonderful to handle and groomed to perfection. Because he had a lovely body and head shape, I forgave his weak chin and overall, I felt that he was the best balanced of the three boys today.
2ND HANDY’S NORSKMAGI TAVARIS, 67 31ts, MN, 24.06.08
Silver Tabby & White. I was impressed with this boy’s body length and boning and I think that he should make an imposing adult. Triangular shape to the head, overall it was of very good length indeed. At the moment the top of head is still a little narrow, though I feel that once his adult breadth develops, he should be a really nice example of the breed. However, today, the head was not quite as well balanced as my winner’s. Lovely large ears, still sitting a little close because his top of head breadth is yet to develop. Lovely oblique set to oval shaped green eyes. Excellent straight nasal profile. Chin could be a touch firmer and deeper for perfection. Really long body, good muscle tone and substance, very well boned legs and paws, he stands slightly higher on the back legs. Long tail, easily reaching the shoulders and very well furnished indeed. Well developed coat qualities for age with a ruff framing the face, full knickerbockers and slightly harsher guardhairs developing over the rump. I look forward to seeing how he develops over the coming months as he shows promise for the future.
3RD SKULSKI’S SHANLIVLE MICKJAGGER, 67 31t, M, 27.05.08
Brown Tabby & White. Only just made it into the kitten classes by a few days and this young man has wonderful size and substance, a large and very solid boy exhibiting excellent boning and body shape. Triangular head shape, muzzle area just rounds off a little rather than truly tapering. Good large ears, set in line with the outlines on the triangle. Large eyes, nice oval shape, I would like to see them just a little more obliquely set. Although his profile gives the appearance of a slight curve, it is actually a good straight profile once the fur on the forehead is pushed back. Firm deep chin. Tail balanced the long body well and it was very well furnished indeed, with a bushy texture. He has lost his baby coat and the adult coat length is starting to develop, some ruff present around the neck, some woolly undercoat present, coarser texture to guardhairs still to come. This boy will look much more balanced once his proper adult coat develops, as he is currently at that ‘in-between’ stage. He was lovely to handle and very well presented.

AC TABBY & WHITE (6 TO 9 MONTHS) FEMALE
1ST PINCH’S CHALCEDON SILVER SPARKLE, 67 31ets, 29.07.08
Silver Tortie-Tabby & White. A very pretty young lady. Really large ears, set high and open, very well furnished and in line with the outlines of the triangular head. Very nice triangular shape to the head, very good overall length. Green eyes, good oval shape and set obliquely. Straight nasal profile, very tiny drop-off towards the tip. Firm deep chin. Long body with a muscular feel to it, quite large size. Nicely boned limbs, she stands high on the leg and has round paws. Balanced bushy tail, reaching the shoulders. This girl had a well developed coat for age, she had a full ruff and knickerbockers, woolly undercoat covered with slightly coarser glossy guardhairs, especially over the rump. Attractive coat colours, showing both black and various tones of red to the silver tabby. Nicely presented and good to handle.
2ND LINDREN’S JHARDUFAELILYTHEPINL, 67 31ets, 24.05.08
Registered as a silver tortie-tabby & white, though in the hall lighting, I felt that she is actually a tortie-tabby and white. The female had a lovely triangular shape to the head with very pleasing overall length and good breadth to the top of head. Large ears, nicely furnished. She was initially a little nervous and unsure, consequently she did tend to hold her ears down and flare them, though we did get them to come up by using the teaser, once she was back in her pen. Obliquely set green eyes. Nose shows a very slight change in direction. Chin quite firm, though it rounds off a little at the end. Lovely long solid body, excellent weight and muscularity. Well boned limbs and paws, back legs slightly longer than the front ones. Long bushy tail, very well furnished and reaching the shoulders. Coat length developing, she has a nice ruff and knickerbockers, coat texture is very promising with glossy guardhairs with a good slightly harsher feel towards the tail. Very well groomed.
3RD MORRIS’ ANGELITOSKIYOS FAIRY KYSS, 67 31gts, 22.07.08
Blue Silver Tortie-Tabby & White. Actually, this girl is a tortie smoke and white as she has patched of solid black rather than tabby markings covering a silver base colour. This female had lots of substance, excellent weight and a very muscular sold feel to her. Nicely furnished ears of good size and set in line with the triangular head. She does tend to puff out her whisker pads, though the boning does taper well underneath. Quite large eyes, oval in shape and set obliquely. Good long straight line to the nasal profile. Chin quite firm and of very good depth. Long heavy body, very well boned legs and paws. Long coat, full ruff framing the face, well developed knickerbockers. Guardhairs present down the spineline and over the rump, still to develop over the sides of the body. A little nervous today, though she was no problem to handle and had very impressive side and bone structure.
4TH EMERY’S NORSKFAE SKY, 67 31at, 01.06.08
Blue Tabby & White. Another very weighty female of very good size and substance for age. Medium to large sized ears, nicely furnished and set well on the head. Head of good triangular shape, though overall I would like to see it just a little longer at this age. Green eyes, good large size and oval shaped, set quite obliquely. Nose has a good long straight line. Firm deep chin. Really long and very substantial body, she is a very well grown female. Large solid boning to legs and big round paws, she stands high on the leg. Very well furnished bushy tail, balancing that long body well and reaching the shoulders. Ruff starting to lengthen, woolly undercoat present, guardhairs developing though still typically on the softer side. White to face, tummy and legs, attractive blue mackerel tabby pattern to body, head and tail. Well presented.
5TH SOUTHORN’S SHANVLIVLE DOLLYPARTON, 67 31ets, 07.08.08
Silver Tortie-Tabby & White. The baby of the class and this girl is at that difficult in-between stage. She has lost her baby coat and at the moment the coat is very short, so is lacking in undercoat. Really large ears which sit high on the head, currently a little too close together as the head breadth is yet to develop. The head has good overall length, now needing to develop breadth for balance as it is currently on the narrow side. Large green eyes, I felt that they were a little bold and round, though she was rather nervous during the morning judging. I was pleased to see her looking much more relaxed later in the day. Chin of good depth, could be a little firmer for perfection. Overall I felt that she was on the smaller side, though kittens do develop at different rates and the Norwegian Forest takes several years to attain full size so she has plenty of time to catch up. The body had good length and a muscular feel to it. Long tail, nicely furnished with some bushiness present. Nicely groomed and she had a very attractive mingled mixture of colours to her coat.

AC NON-SELF ADULT
1ST GRANT’S NOYNAROCK ZACH, 67 31a, M, 21.06.07

3RD HANDY’S NORSKMAGI RAGNOR, 67 31s, M, 02.03.07
Black Smoke & White. Currently in full coat with a lovely ruff and knickerbockers. A little on the rangy side at the moment, which I put down to his age and hormonal status.

AC ARISTOCRAT ADULT
1ST TIPPER’S PRINCESS DAYNA, 67 31et, F, 09.12.04
Tortie-Tabby & White. An extremely large and substantial girl with a strong yet feminine head of good triangular shape. Coat had a woolly undercoat with good slightly harsher topcoat. Attractive patches of red and brown tabby on a predominantly white base colour.

AC NORWEGIAN FOREST BREEDERS KITTEN

Full coat, currently slightly softer texture as it is still a kitten coat. One to watch out for in the future. Later went Best Male Kitten in Show. Well done ho his owner/breeder.

Black Smoke. Lovely large well grown female showing excellent body length and boning. Generally a very nice head shape all round though nasal profile shows a very slight change in direction. Coat exhibited some ruff, still typically softer over the back and sides of the body. I fell that she has a promising future.
2ND MILLWARD’S NORSKFAE SHOELESS JOE, 67 31at, M, 01.06.08
Reported above in my Open Class.

Black. A large mature female who exhibits wonderful heavy boning, a long and well muscled body, strong triangular head and large, well placed ears. She has a good straight profile line to the nose and really firm deep chin. Today her coat was great, plenty of woolly textured undercoat covered with a slightly harsher glossy topcoat. Ended up being Best Neuter, a lovely example of the breed. Congratulations to her owners and breeder.
2ND PORTER’S PR NOYNAROCK XANADU, 67 15, MN, 15.07.07
Black. This young man was very well grown and had a muscular feel to the long body and a balanced tail. Head of good triangular shape and he had a very pleasing expression with large ears, straight nasal profile and obliquely set green eyes. Chin quite firm. Coat of very nice length and texture, though overall I felt that the female had the edge all round today.

AC NON-SELF NEUTER
1ST PORTER’S PR NOYNAROCK SYLVESTER, 67 31a, MN, 13.06.06
Blue & White. I see that this is the stablemate to the male in the previous class. Good large ears, in line with the triangular head. Green eyes, oval shaped and set obliquely. Straight line to the nasal profile. Chin could be a little firmer for perfection. Lovely long muscular body, solid boning to limbs, large round paws. Very well balanced tail. Coat of very good length and texture, full ruff and knickerbockers.

Mrs L Grant

I would like to thank Anne, Brian and the committee for inviting me today; this is one of my favourite shows of the year.  The standard of the NFC’s on exhibition today was I think the highest it has ever been and it was a pleasure to participate in the day.  I was particularly pleased to be asked to judge the Overall Best in Show and must thank all the exhibitors for providing me with such a fantastic line up, which would rival those abroad.  My Best in Show cat was a superb young lad Noynarock Zach, very well done to his owner breeder Linda Grant.  Thank you to Barbara Prowse who kindly came along to steward for me today, it was an enjoyable and interesting day together, many thanks Barbara.
AC GRAND CHAMPION MALE:
1 IMP GR CC Withheld HEALING’S GR CH LANDSKER YMER (TICA GR CH) (67 31ts) (14.5.06).  I was sorry to withhold the Imperial certificate today but I just felt that this lad did not have the quality of type required for this ultimate title, although he has a good clean triangular shaped head he does have quite deep set eyes and quite low set and flared ears.  I also felt that his coat quality today did not really conform to the standard.  He was beautifully prepared but his coat was really too soft and silky for a correct Norwegian coat and lacked the harshness of texture and the waterproof elements required.  Slightly weak chin and level bite.  Long body with good body weight but I would like to see more strength of boning considering his age.  Silver tabby coat pattern with a high expression of white.  Slightly short tail.  Lovely sweet lad with a super temperament.
FEMALE:
IMP GR CC HEALING’S GR CH JARRAHKATT AZZARA (67 31t) (4.9.01). Mature NFC female of very good type and with a typical NFC look.  She is 7 years of age.  Very good triangular head shape with a straight profile and a definite chin.  Level bite.  Large eyes, well set obliquely but were looking just a little bold today.  Large ears, nicely tapered and very well set, high on her head.  Long body, with very good body weight, boning and substance.  Strong limbs and large paws.  Typical NFC stance.  Good coat quality and texture, but still a little soft and lacking in length at present.  Very well prepared. Slightly short tail.  A sweet girl who was a little nervous today.
AOC JUNIOR ADULT MALE:
BOB GRANT’S NOYNAROCK ZACH (67 31a) (21.6.07).  My Overall Best in Show cat later in the day.  He is a superb example of the breed and certainly one to watch.  Excellent triangular head with a straight profile.  Good chin and level bite.  Lovely alert expression.  Large oval eyes, green in colour and with a lovely oblique setting.  Large ears, nicely tapered and very well set, high on his head.  Well furnished and with a lovely open setting.  Excellent coat quality and texture, especially for a dilute cat.  Strong glossy guard hairs to his waterproof top coat and with good length and undercoat developing.  Medium ruff framing his face and with a good shirtfront and knickerbockers.     Attractive blue and white coat pattern with all white parts sparkling white.  Long body with he back legs higher than the front and with very good boning and substance considering his age.  Long well furnished tail.  He was a worthy BOB and Best In Show winner and his breeder / owner can be justifiably proud of him.  A real gentleman with manners to match.
1 CC ELMS’ NOYNAROCK SOLAMAN (67 31a) (2.5.08).  Handsome young NFC lad of just 9 months of age with very good NFC type. Very good triangular head with a straight profile and a slightly weak chin.  He does tend to puff out his whisker pads which does throw his head off a little.  Large ears, but set slightly low on the head and slightly flared in positioning.  Large oval eyes a little deep set but oblique.  Super expression.  Long body and good stance.  With very good boning and body weight for his age.  Strong limbs and large paws.  Lovely inverted v of white to his head with a blue and white coat pattern.  Coat currently a little soft but still a definite double coat apparent with coarseness to the guard hairs.   Full coat, ruff and knickerbockers  and well prepared.    Very sweet lad with a super temperament.
2 HANDY’S NORSKMAGI RAGNOR (67 31s) (02.03.07). Another handsome young lad of very good NFC type, he is now almost 2 years of age.  Very good triangular head with a straight profile.  Slightly weak chin, level bite.  Large eyes, set nicely obliquely and oval in shape, perhaps just a fraction deep set.  Large ears, set just slightly wide and flared on the head.  Long body with good boning but he just needs time to fill out his frame.  Strong limbs and large paws.  Tail a little short.  Well prepared smoke coat with a good double coat apparent but a little soft at present.  Good full ruff and knickerbockers.  Very sweet and talkative lad with a super temperament.
FEMALE:
1CC JEACOCK’S WEESAMS PANDORA (67 31) (6.3.08).  Lovely young NFC female with very good type and just 11 months of age.  Very good clean triangular shaped head with a straight profile and a good chin.  Level bite.  Large, ears well opened and nicely tapering very well set.  Large, oval eyes, very well set obliquely and with a lovely expression once she settled.  Long body with very good body weight and boning for her age.  Strong limbs and large paws.  Excellent coat quality and texture with an excellent glossy top coat, completely waterproof and with lovely harsh and glossy guard hairs, undercoat and coat length coming along nicely.  Slightly short but well furnished tail.  Lovely temperament.
2 HUGHES NORSKMAGIKATT KVASIR THEA (67 16) (8.4.08).  Lovely young NFC female with the look.  Excellent triangular head with a straight profile and a good chin.  Level bite.  Lovely internal triangle reflected in the nasal profile.  Large ears, well opened and very well set and furnished.  Very expressive eyes with a lovely oblique setting but just a little small and deep set.  Very good coat quality and texture with a big coat and ruff considering she is only 9 months old.  Long body with good boning and frame for her age, she is just a little lightweight at present and needs to fill out her frame.  Strong limbs and large paws.  Lovely temperament a very promising young lady.
AC JUNIOR TABBY & WHITE NEUTER MALE:
1PC PATTERSON’S FORESTSHADOW CONAN  (67 31t) (18.4.08).  Very handsome young lad of very good type and with excellent boning. He is 10 months old.  Excellent triangular shaped head with an almost straight profile.  He does have a parallel rather than refined nasal profile and a little bump, which does detract a little from his elegance.  Firm chin and level bite.  Large ears, very well furnished and just a fraction wide set on his head.  Large oval eyes set obliquely once he settled.  Excellent long body with strong limbs and large paws, but lots of  growing still to do.  Very good body weight, boning and conformation.  Long well furnished tail.  Excellent coat quality and texture, very well prepared, very attractive mackerel tabby and white coat pattern.  Very good harsh and glossy top coat with the undercoat coming in nicely.  Medium long coat with no real ruff develop yet.  Lovely young lad with a super and playful temperament.
FEMALE:
1 PC JONES’S JHARDUFAE LIAMS FLOWER (67 31ts) (11.4.08).  Sweet NFC female of just 10 months of age, she was very nervous today and did not really show herself off to advantage.  Nice NFC type.  Good triangular head with a rounded forehead.  Almost straight profile and slightly  weak chin.  She has a slightly spread front portion to her nasal profile, which spoils her elegance of type.  Level bite.  Large oval eyes which are slightly deep set but oblique.  Large ears, but she would not hold them up for us and  they were very bonneted in position and looked to be slightly wide set.  Long body with strong limbs and large paws.  Good coat quality and texture with a good harsh top coat and with her undercoat developing nicely.  Coat length still developing.  Sweet girl, I hope that she overcomes her nervousness.
AC SENIOR TABBY & WHITE NEUTER MALE:
BOB WHITTLE’S PR TIGANLEA LORD FERDINAND (67 31ts) (9.6.05).  Very handsome and substantial lad of 3 years of age and with excellent NFC type.  Excellent equilateral triangle to his head and almost straight profile.   Parallel nose bridge with a slightly spread portion to the front of his nasal profile.  Firm chin and level bite.  Very expressive eyes, large, oval, well opened and well set obliquely but just a fraction deep set.  Large ears, nicely tapered and well set high on his head.  Well furnished.  Long body with very substantial boning and good body weight.   High on the hind legs with strong limbs and large paws.  Very good coat quality and texture, excellent long and glossy guard hairs and a full coat with full ruff, shirtfront and knickerbockers.  Lovely waterproof double coat.  Very long tail, very well furnished.  Handled well but a little unhappy.
1PC RUBERY’S NOYNAROCK SPARTACUS (67 31at) (14.8.04).  Handsome young lad of 4 years of age of good substance.  Good triangular head with a rounded forehead.  Almost straight profile, which has a little bump and as he has a heavy brow and tends to puff his whisker pads out; he does tend to look a little square and dippy, which in fact is not the case.  Large, oval eyes just a little deep set for me.  Large ears,  nicely tapered but just slightly wide set on his head and he wasn’t going to hold them up for us today!  Excellent long body with super boning and conformation.  Excellent body weight.  Strong limbs and large paws.  Typical NFC stance.  Red tabby coat pattern.  Excellent coat quality and texture with a lovely full coat with ruff and shirtfront.  Super long glossy guard hairs to his waterproof top coat and with a super undercoat apparent.  Sweet and gentle lad.
FEMALE:
1 PC Withheld LINDGREN’S JHARDUFAE XSITA FIROZA (67 31at) (13.4.04).  Most unusual blue tabby and white coat pattern which was prepared to the last hair.  It was a shame that Firoza was so nervous as she just curled up like a hedgehog and didn’t want to be seen.  She has a very gentle nature, but didn’t like the show scene.  I was sorry to have to withhold the PC today but unfortunately although she has a beautiful coat it is not the correct texture or quality for the breed and I don’t think it would be self maintaining in the wild!  She is quite lightweight but does have nice strong boning and body length.  She has a good triangular shaped head but her profile has a definite change of direction in it.  Reasonably large ears but she wasn't going to put them up for us.  Tail a little short.  Sweet girl.
AC NFC ADULT:
1 GRANT’S NOYNAROCK ATHENE (67 18) (9.8.06).  Super clear Silver tabby coat pattern.  Young female of nice type.  Good triangular head with an almost straight profile, the front portion of her nasal profile is slightly bulbous.  Good eyes.  Large, nicely tapered ears, just slightly wide set.  Good body length, boning and weight.  With excellent coat quality and texture.  Long tail and a full coat and shirtfront.  Sweet cat.
2 JOHNSTONE’S CH TUYET QUAVARA (67 20) (29.5.06). Brown Tabby coat pattern.  Young lad with nice NFC type.  Very lacking in chin but with a good triangular head and an almost straight profile.  Large, tapering ears, well furnished.  Large oval eyes.  Excellent coat quality and texture, with super harsh and glossy top coat and the undercoat apparent.  Long body with good boning and body weight.  Super temperament.
3 BISHOP’S BANOVAL SVANA (67 31t) (31.3.08)

1 MANSELL’S FORESTSHADOW CAJSA (67 18a) (18.4.08) Blue Silver Tabby.  I haven’t seen this young lady since the Supreme and my how she has grown.  She has excellent type with a very good triangular head and straight profile.  Good chin and level bite.  Large ears, well furnished and with a lovely open setting.  Very expressive eyes, large, oval and set obliquely.  Long body with very good boning, at the moment she is growing fast and she needs time to fill out her frame, she is a little lightweight at present, but I suspect that is hormones.  High on the hind legs.  Quite full coat and shirtfront but lacking a little undercoat and ruff at present.  Very good coat quality and texture with a lovely harsh texture to her waterproof top coat. Very well prepared.  She was quite talkative today but handled reasonably easily.  Long flowing tail.

Mrs M Kalal

I was called in to judge at the last minute because poor Malcolm Brace was taken ill and I hope you are feeling much better now Malcolm. It was lucky I was feeling much better as I had originally pulled out of the Midland of Ireland Show because of a lung infection, so I was happy to help. It was a charming breed show with some really lovely cats present and I enjoyed my day with Steve Butters stewarding for me; many thanks Steve for your help, excellent handling of the cats and very good company.

Mrs A Lyall

It was a very great pleasure to be here again at this happy & friendly show amidst all these beautiful Norwegian Forest cats – what a challenge it was to place them. My steward was Linda Dutton who worked like a Trojan – she wanted to get to know the breed & it was total immersion! My thanks go to Linda for her sterling support, to the hard working team in the kitchen for providing us with a delicious lunch & to Anne, Brian & the committee for the invitation to judge – it was a great privilege.

OPEN CLASSES.
AC CHAMPION MALE.
GCC. GRANT’S CH.NOYNAROCK ZACH 67 31a M – 21.6.07. A real stunner of a cat, showing great balance & elegance. Head a strong, deep triangle with good breadth at the top & depth at the muzzle, beautiful large ears which extend the head lines & carry long curling furnishings, eyes large, well opened & obliquely set with an alert expression, long nose with straight profile, level bite & firm strong chin. Body long & muscular with deep chest & broad shoulders, limbs long & thick, taller to the rear, with very stong bone & huge tufted feet, long bushy tail. Lovely coat with superb textural contrast showing a very strong waterproof top coat over a dense woolly undercoat, shirtfront & shaggy knickerbockers. Physically, he ticked all the boxes & the icing on the cake was his wonderful temperament – outgoing, alert & so friendly & purring. He later took Overall Best in Show – for me, he was a template for the breed.
RES.GCC. TIPPER’S CH.TIGANLEA PRINCE DANTE (FIFE GIC) 67 31at M – 9.12.04.A very handsome & stylish chap in his prime & showing himself beautifully, unlucky to meet Zack in this class. Triangular head showing excellent definition in the frame of his enormous mane with large ears, tufted & furnished, extending the head lines. Lovely large green eyes, well opened & set obliquely, good long straight profile, bite level & chin strong. Body long, strong & elegant, legs long with strong bone, paws large & tufted between the toes & long bushy tail. He had an enormous full coat, lavish shirtfront, mane breaking over the shoulders & very bushy knickerbockers. However, although the undercoat was very deep & woolly, I thought the texture of the top coat was softer & finer than required for the breed. Super temperament.

AC CHAMPION FEMALE.
GCC.HERMON’S CH.ADFURLO AISLING 67 31t F – 6.4.04.A real stunner, beautifully presented with not a hair out of place. Very strongly defined triangular head extended by large ears bearing tiny tufts & long curling furnishings. Her eyes were spectacular, of a perfect shape, large & bright emerald in colour, well opened & obliquely set, nose long with straight profile, bite level & chin deep. Very strongly grown with good length of muscular torso, standing high on long thick limbs showing very strong bone & feet large & tufted. Very bushy tail only just to balance. Superb coat showing lovely long glossy guard hair on top & deep woolly undercoat.
RES.GCC.TIPPER’S CH.KVASIR VANADIS 67 16 F – 9.5.06. Beautiful girl, a bit of a madam but of excellent type & substance. Super large ears with very long furnishings extended the strong deep triangular skull. Eyes well opened with oblique aperture, beautiful long straight profile, level bite & firm chin. Strong long torso, long well boned limbs with large tufted paws & long bushy tail. Wonderful full coat showing excellent textural contrast, profuse shirtfront, mane & knickerbockers. Balanced & stylish, she was much happier in her pen where she showed herself to perfection.

AC JUNIOR TABBY NEUTER.
1ST, PC & BOB.SZWED’S FENRISULVEN INDIANA 67 20 MN – 26.10.07. What a big softy! Very strong triangular head extended by large, well furnished ears, eyes beautifully shaped & well opened, set obliquely, strongly defined long straight profile, level bite & good firm chin. Limbs very well boned ending in large tufted paws, body of good length & substance, bushy tail a little on the short side. Coat of medium length showing a lovely firm textured shining top coat & woolly undercoat, not much in the way of shirtfront as yet but with shaggy knickerbockers. Inevitably still looking a little adolescent at 15 months but he’s got it all.
2ND.BATE’S FENRISULVEN KENZO 67 18 MN – 21.4.08.Not much more than a kitten & very frightened & overwhelmed by the experience though potentially very nice. Strong head triangle, ears large with excellent furnishings but flattened, eyes very wide & bold looking today but I could see that they were of good shape & set. Super strong straight profile, level bite & good chin. Body long & lean, legs show good strong bone & feet are large & well tufted, bushy tail could be longer. Coat not fully developed but shows promise.

AC SENIOR TABBY NEUTER.
1ST& PC.HEALING’S CH. JHARDUFAE BEANO BEN (TICA CH.) 67 18 MN – 9.8.03. A very large mature chap with a lovely affectionate temperament. Strong long triangular skull with beautifully defined long nose with ruler straight profile. Ears extend the triangle but appear rather small, even given that they are buried in quantities of coat, eyes obliquely set, bite level, muzzle a little fine & chin needs a bit more depth. Body long & strong, legs well boned & feet large & tufted, lovely long bushy tail. Enormous coat consisting in the main of huge dense woolly undercoat but showing some stronger top over the shoulders & along the spine, huge mane, shirtfront & knickerbockers. He has the sweetest gentle expression.

PREFIX PAIRS.
This was the biggest challenge of the day – I have to admit to feeling rather daunted when I saw the entry! The quality was so high that I was literally splitting hairs to get to the final three placings. There were many beautiful examples of the breed but I was looking for a distinctive “house style” which defined the standard while retaining it’s individualty.
1ST.RAFFKIN – BREEDER MRS K. RUBERY – TUCKER’S RAFFKIN WILLOW WAND 67 31et & RUBERY’S RAFFKIN PHOENIX FLAME 67 31dt
These two stunning sisters were superb & of lovely type & temperament. Both showed excellent substance & development while retaining their femininity. Lovely open triangular heads showing good depth at the base of the triangle. Very large ears set high & open, wide at base & generously furnished, extending the head lines, & beautiful large & well opened eyes of that very distinctive NFC shape, set obliquely. Lovely long straight profiles with defined lateral definition. Good body length & strong bone to lovely long chunky limbs. In spite of their young age, I thought they showed style & distinction.

2ND.NOYNAROCK – BREEDER MRS L. GRANT – PORTER’S NOYNAROCK RAGNASVLARDATTER 67 22 & PORTER’S NOYNAROCK SYLVESTER 67 31a. Two excellent examples of their breed showing impressive size & bone yet retaining elegance & having a definite family resemblance. They had wonderful balance with lovely long bushy tails, strongly defined triangular heads showing breadth at the top & depth to the chins, ears large & really extending the headlines & both had handsome long noses with perfectly straight profiles. Coats showed superb textural contrast & they both had wonderful temperaments & showed themselves off to perfection.

3RD.FORESTSHADOW - BREEDER MR.D.HANDY – MANSELL’S FORESTSHADOW CAJSA 67 18a & MANSELL’S FORESTSHADOW CHLOE 67 31ats. At only ten months old, I thought these sisters showed excellent growth & substance, strong family resemblance & had great flair & promise. Their coats were particularly well developed with lovely long strong waterproof top coats & deep soft woolly undercoats. Heads were strongly triangular with deep chins & ears were very large, set high & wide at the base, extending the contours up & out. Lovely long muscular bodies & very long bushy tails. Long profiles, Cajsa’s perfectly straight & Chloe’s very slightly convex. Chloe, (a total sweetie) needs to teach Casja, (a bit of a diva) some manners!

Mrs D Taylor

My thanks to Anne and Brian and the committee for inviting me to judge.  A lovely day, as usual a very well run show.  My thanks to my steward Emma Watts who is not only efficient but excellent company.

Ginger or Ginger and White Adult
1st MC Mrs S Talboys Orlando a very striking cat who is still an adolescent with a long body which he is still growing into.  He had a beautifully prepared coat which was shining and silky to the touch this complemented his wonderful tabby coat pattern.  A laid back boy who clearly knew he was stunning.

2nd Mrs E Isaac Vandal a well built lad with wide expressive eyes and a very endearing bright pink nose.  He had white socks and a white bib.  He was a little tense out of his pen but was easy to handle.  His coat was quite coarse along the back so he didn’t sparkle quite as much as the winner.

AC Kitten
!st Mr L Jones Weeble a large well built kitten who clearly loves his food.  He has the most expressive golden eyes.  His coat was in lovely condition with beautiful tabby markings.  He could take on the role of the Cheshire cat as he had a wonderful smile.  A gentle lad who was easy to handle.

2nd Ms D Jarecki Spooks at just four months old a real little bundle.  At the moment he is a very pretty kitten but I am sure as he grows up he will turn into a handsome chap.  He has an unusual coat colour of black smoke which was soft and silky but still plenty of the fluffy kitten coat.  A very friendly, happy baby who I am sure will have a promising show career in front of him.

Veteran cat over 7 years
1st Mrs J Plant Silver Sam definitely the Kosset carpet cat, a silver powder ball of coat beautifully prepared.  Such a friendly lad who talked his way to first place in good condition for his age.  This lad has plenty of personality and a presence about him, you can’t pass him by.

2nd Mrs E Isaac Chloe a very pretty lady with a close lying coat in very good condition for her age.  A little shy at first but happy to be held and cuddled.

Cat or Kitten with the most expressive eyes.
1st Ms D Jarecki Remus he has huge round eyes which just draw you in with a striking blue/green colour. He has an overall gentle expression.
2nd Mrs E Isaac Vandal
3rd Miss K Overton Kovuu

Ms C Walker

Many thanks to Anne & Brian for inviting me to judge at this lovely show. I had not judged for several years so really had to dust off my white coat – and memory! – but I thoroughly enjoyed my day and actually am now quite considering donning the white coat a bit more often – as and when invited.  The food was superb and the apple pie was to die for. Many thanks to my steward, Carole Kemp, who handled the cats with great love and care and provided me with good company – we must do it again sometime! The cats were all in superb condition and obviously well loved, even if, sadly, a few of them were not too enamoured with their surroundings or, especially, with their neighbours today!
Open Class 111 BLACK, WHITE OR BLACK & WHITE ADULT:
1 MC PIDGLEY’S SAMSON. A lovely young man of just 9 months old, only just an adult, in superb condition, with a healthy, shiny, glossy jet black coat. Excellent body weight and stature, lovely, expressive yellow eyes and cute ear tufts. Alert and interested in everything that was going on, he sat at the front of his pen all day watching the proceedings. Sadly he was very upset with his neighbour and proceeded to hiss, spit and swear at her once he was out of the pen, although he was still easy to handle and showed us no malice at all.
2 VALE’S ELLIE KIM.   A very pretty all white girl, spotless and well groomed but sadly very nervous and retreated to the back of her pen when she wasn’t trying to hide under her litter tray. She allowed us to stroke her head within the confines of her pen for a short while but when we tried to get her out she told us in no uncertain terms where to go! She had the same opinion of her neighbour as he did of her and was quite put out by his bad language which she returned tenfold!
Open Class 115 AOC ADULT:
1 MC ISAAC’S CHLOE. Only one in the Class and at first appeared to be extremely frightened and we had to extricate her from under her blanket in order to see how pretty she was. Once out on the trolley she relaxed enough to allow us to examine her but soon wanted to be back in the safety of her pen. A, tortie tabby, with some red areas mingled amongst the tabby stripes and a lovely white chin. Soft, well groomed coat, another cat in excellent condition.
Misc. Class 121 CAT OR KITTEN UNDER 2 YEARS OLD:
1 JARECKI’S SPOOK.  A real baby! A stunning black boy who, we all agreed, was really more of a black smoke with some gorgeous silvery under bits. Just 16 weeks old and almost small enough to fit in our pockets – I had to check my steward’s very carefully before she went home!  Cuteness personified, he was a cheeky and inquisitive chappie who was very wriggly, but this was more from a desire not to miss a thing rather than being ill at ease. Very easy to handle, superb condition, very soft, silky coat, an absolute poppet. He is going to be a stunner when he grows up! Presumably this was his first show – hopefully it will not be his last.
2 READ’S PEACHES.  A pretty tortie smoke girl with a semi-longhair coat, ear tufts and a lovely fluffy tail. Again in excellent condition and although she seemed to prefer the comfort (???) of her litter tray she handled nicely when we did get her out of it. Very distinctive front feet, one being almost black and the other a very pale apricot. Just not quite the confidence of the winner.
3 TALBOYS’ ORLANDOHandsome red spotty tabby youngster, not long out of kittenhood who was very relaxed and posing in his pen and equally as relaxed out on the trolley. Strongly ringed tail and a pale chin added to his appeal. Another well cared for lad in excellent condition.
Not placed in this class and not reported on elsewhere:
SZWED’S LULU BELLE.  a stunningly beautiful large dominant tortie & white semi-longhair girl. A lot of white on her face together with a black splodge on her nose and more on three of her feet gave this girl real appeal. Excellent condition and well groomed but just not quite as relaxed as the winners.
OVERTON’S  KOVUU.   Obviously a Somali in another life, this lad was very, very vocal and was not at all reticent about telling everyone what he thought of them, the show, the state of the economy etc! . A very alert cat with a soft, silky, well cared for coat and a striking black band down his back. Very handsome boy who was fine out on the trolley at first then caught sight of his neighbour and gave vent to some most ungentlemanly language.
Misc. Class 125  LH CAT OR KITTEN WITH THE FLUFFIEST COAT:.
1 JARECKI’s  REMUS. A  difficult class this as neither cat had what I would call a really fluffy coat but although this lad’s coat was shorter  than his rival’s, it was thicker, which just pinched it for him. An obvious part/rescued pedigree, described as White, Seal & Grey, (perhaps Birman we mused, or Ragdoll as he was the “stable-mate” of the other cat in the class), he had lovely tabby markings on his face. An alert and curious lad who almost walked out onto the trolley for us then had second thoughts and retreated back into his pen.
2 JARECKI’S APPOLLO.  A softer and silkier coat than the winner, consequently it lay a little flatter against the body, hence the second placing. We debated as to this lad’s origins as well, thought perhaps Ragdoll. Sadly had to judge him in his pen as he was very tense and was most reluctant to leave it.

Misc. Class 129  HANDSOMEST MALE CAT OR KITTEN:
1 PlANT’S SILVER SAM.  Simply stunning and very handsome! An obvious Chinchilla in A1 condition and with faultless preparation who smelt just divine. Handled really well with a laid back yet confident personality. Lovely boy, another chatterbox, this time, though, telling everyone all about how much he was enjoying himself, how gorgeous he was and how well he was doing! Excellent, friendly temperament, he butted my hand with his head, purred for England and then finished off by rolling over for tummy tickles. He was obviously enjoying every minute of his day out, was awarded three out of the four judges’ “Judge’s choice rosettes and was my eventual Best in Show, which was a very close decision between him and the gorgeous short haired tortie referred to later.  Excellent condition for his 8 years, I later learned that he had been abandoned in a cardboard box, extremely matted and in poor condition. Many congratulations to his owner, who has turned what must have been a sorry looking cat, into the stunner we saw today. You can be justifiably proud of him and yourself!
2 pidgley’s  samson.   My winner of Open Class 111.
3 JARECKI’s   REMUS.     My winner from Class 125.
Misc. Class 133  THE CAT OR KITTEN WITH THE LOUDEST PURR:
1 VALE’S DAISY MAY. Only cat entered but a worthy winner, even though her purr was not extremely loud it was very, very “feelable”, her throat just vibrated with purrs! An extremely pretty tortie & white with four pristine white feet and an almost entirely black tail. Lovely darker red stripes on her paler red face. We initially christened her the “Blanket cat” as she was hiding under her blanket at first but having lifted this off her she strolled happily out onto the trolley to be judged. Another one who butted my hand and made a fuss and at the end of the day it was a very, very close call between this lovely lady and my eventual BIS winner, who she ran very, very close indeed. Was so pleased to see that she was the recipient of the fourth Judge’s Special and also the eventual Overall Royal Canin Heat Winner as she certainly did not deserve to go away empty handed and if I had been allowed to award a Joint Best in Show I would have done.
Misc. Class 137  CAT OR KITTEN RESIDENT IN WARWICKSHIRE:
1 TALBOYS’ ORLANDO. My third placed cat from Class 121, I was very happy to be able to award him a First in this Class.
2 JARECKI’S APPOLLO.  My 2nd placed cat from Class 125
3 VALE’S  ELLIE KIM.  My 2nd placed cat from Open Class 115, still sadly not a happy girl.
Misc. Class 141  CAT OR KITTEN WITH A FRIEND IN THE PEDIGREE SECTION:
1 READ’S   PEACHES.  My 2nd placed cat from Class 121.
Royal Canin Stakes  Class 144   TABBY OR TABBY & WHITE ADULT OR KITTEN:
1 RUTTER’S BRACKEN. Unplaced in Class 121, this lady was a pale tortie tabby, more tabby than tortie and  with classic tabby markings on her side, a white chin and a distinctive pale tip to her tail. She was very easy to handle but refused to purr for us. Another cat in very good condition and well presented.
