Mrs J Allen

Many thanks to everyone for my invitation to judge this year.  I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.  I was very lucky to have Marlene Laird and Eileen Hillis as stewards for the day, a brilliant team and I thank them so much for their devoted hard work and the marked catalogue at the end of the day.
AC PERSIAN SELF CHAMPION MALE:
GR CC STEWART’S GR CH LAZANE ON CLOUD NINE 2a.  I have judged this lovely boy on many occasions and I was pleased to give him a further award today.  He is a very lovely boy always turned out to perfection.
2 NIVEN’S CH DOLINA XCALIBAR 70 15.  Sorry to withhold the reserve on this boy but he really was not in show condition on the day.  He was rather lightweight and his coat was thick and very claggy.  Coupled with that he was rather too undershot for my liking.
BROWN OR BLUE TABBY INC BI COLOUR MAINE COON ADULT MALE:
1 CC WILSON’S JULESCOON TOTO 64 41.  Only just a year old and with some considerable maturing to do, however I considered that he was well worthy of the CC on the day.  Nicely set large ears with very nice tufts and tips.  I do hope that as he matures he develops further width to balance the length of his head.  Very shallow concave curve to his profile with quite a good perpendicular line to his adequate depth of chin.  Quite a nice squareness to his face.  Long body with sturdy long legs, powerful paws with super tufts.  Long tapering tail that was well furnished.  Very clear classic tabby patterning with nice warm tone.  Well shown apart from his tail that was showing signs of stud tail.
BOB CAMPBELL’S GR CH DOTCOM LESTER 64 41w.  Very mature impressive head type on this male, and he is only 1 year 8 months.  Super expression.
BROWN OR BLUE TABBY INC BI COLOUR MAINE COON ADULT FEMALE:
1 CC W/H CHAPMAN’S CHERRYBLOSSOM STARBURST 64 41gw.  I was sorry to withhold on this young female but she was still quite small and I did not feel that she had the head type required.  Her head shape was rather triangular without any squareness to her muzzle.  Her profile was almost straight and her eyes were not the desired shape or set for a Maine Coon.  She was slightly nervous to handle.
NORWEGIAN FOREST KITTEN MALE:
1 BOB BARTON’S NORGESKAUKATT SKVALASSON 67 14c 27.6.08.  Green eyed whiteA very attractive well developed young man with a real presence about him! Very nice triangular head shaped slightly isosceles at present, with nice width to the top of his head and quite large ears placed well apart high on his head.  Showing very nice furnishings as well.  Virtually straight profile with a lovely straight line from his nose to forehead.  Large, expressive oval eyes that he used to his best advantage!  Nice depth of chin balancing his head completely.  Very well built, substantial body with deep chest. Long body and very nice length to his bushy tail.  Nicely boned long limbs with tufted paws.  Standing slightly higher on his back legs.  Very nice coat developing, with thick, dense under coat and that coarser feeling coming down his back.  Very well show pure white coat with a small black fleck on his forehead. Very self assured and with a real elegance about him.
NORWEGIAN FOREST KITTEN FEMALE:
1 HENDERSON’S NORGESKAUKATT SKVALAJENTI 67 14c 5.7.08.  Green eyed white. Attractive young lady with very similar features to her half brother! This young lady had a slightly shorter head shape than the male. Again quite large ears that were well set and wide at the base.  Large, oval eyes that she opened very well when we handled her! Virtually straight profile, her chin just a shade shallow for total facial balance. Long body and tail with very nice boning to her long limbs, again standing higher on her hind limbs.  Round, tufted paws. Her coat was also well shown and with the black fleck between her ears but not so well developed as far as her undercoat was concerned.
2 FORBES WEESAMS TORTIERIN 67 31et 23.6.08.  Tortie tabby and white.  Very nicely grown female but not as well balanced facially as yet. Rather a shorter head shape but with nicely placed quite large ears.  Quite a straight profile but sadly her chin was very weak that detracted from her balance and made her look a little oriental in head type. Nice size eyes but they were rather round in shape, may have been down to nerves on the day!
Smaller in frame that the other kittens and slightly shorter in the body length and a shorter tail.  Quite long legs with round tufted paws. Her coat was very thick and dense but as yet not showing any top coat development.  Well shown and a sweet nature.
AV PERSIAN /SLH DEBUTANTE ADULT:
1 MALCOLMSON’S HADFIELDS TEXUS HOLDUM 70 8.  A very impressive young man of 10 months.  Very pleasing head type and balance with small well set ears.  Round skull with large, round eyes.  Short nose with good break and full round cheeks surrounding.  Nice bite and firm chin.  Quite a small frame as yet but very cobby and nice weight.  Short, stocky legs and a wee short rounded tail.  Spotted tabby patterning with a lovely thick upstanding coat texture.  Well shown and a very confident young man.
2 FORBES WEESAMS TIBBY 67 31t 6.3.08.  Very pleasing elegant young lady, with very nice head type.  Triangular shaped head with large open ears well placed on her head.  Large expressive eyes that were obliquely set and well opened.  Straight profile with a slightly shallow chin which detracted from full facial balance. Long elegant frame with quite good boning to her legs.  Round, tufted snowshoes.  Her tail just about reached to her shoulders!  Nicely shown and in full coat with a full ruff and nice knickerbockers.  Double coat with a thick undercoat overlaid by a glossy slightly harsh top coat.
3 THOMSON’S LEVINA SCARLET 12a5
AV PERSIAN/SLH MAIDEN ADULT:
1 BELL & CRAIG’S KATYKAYE SPECIAL REQUEST 70 12a8t.  Very pretty young lady with a most attractive colouring, being high white with small patched of blue-cream spotted tabby colourings.  Very nicely rounded head with neat, low placed ears. Round eyes of sound orange colouring.  Short, upturned nose with adequate nostrils.  Full, fat cheeks. Acceptable bite and firm chin.  Cobby body and stocky legs.  Short, rounded tail.  Her coat was of excellent texture.  Very well shown and sweet to handle.

2 STEWART’S BARLEYFIELDS RIVER DANCE 70 2A.  Another pleasing youngster with such a sweet disposition! Pleasing head type with super top and neat ears.  Smooth skull and round adequately coloured eyes.  His nose leather and nostrils were a little on the small side and his bite just a shade undershot.  Super cobby frame and stocky limbs.  Short, rounded tail.  Very well show coat that was thick, plush and upstanding!  Very well shown.
3 THOMSON’S WOOSY TOODLEE DOODLEDOO 11
AV PERSIAN/SLH NOVICE ADULT:
1 GILLAN’S VONVARDA MEDODEE 66.  Very attractive female of 10 months of age. Broad head with flat plane between her medium sized ears.  Well set with slight forward tilt.  Wide cheeks with nice muzzle and chin.  Level bite.  Medium length nose with gentle dip in profile.  Expressive eyes that were large and slightly two tone in blue colouring as yet the deeper blue developing from the pupil. Promising frame with nice weight, long in length and with medium well boned legs.  Long bush tail.  Very nice silky textured coat that was well shown. Seal points colouring developing nicely.
2 CHERRYBLOSSOM STARBURST
AC PERSIAN LIMIT KITTEN:
1 GRUBB’S BEECHBRAE HEARTBREAKER 70 75.  A very appealing young Exotic lad.  Round head with quite neat ears set nicely on his smooth skull.  Large, blue/green eyes that were very expressive.  Quite a short nose with brick red pigmentation and nicely outlined.  Cheeks filling out nicely.  Nice bite and quite a firm chin.  Cobby body with short legs and tail.  Evenly tipped coat with a very promising colouring developing.  Well shown.
2 CAMPBELL’S DEDANNAN CHASING RAINBOWS 70 1.  A real baby only just old enough to be at the show but very confident!  Rounded head with promising head type.  Round eyes with the colour still to settle.  Short nose.  Teething bite and quite a firm chin.  Cobby frame with short tail.  Coat density still developing.  Well shown.
3 PATONS LAFREBELLA JEEPERS 1
AC PERSIAN VISITORS KITTEN:
2 MACGREGORS BRUICHLADDICH GUCCI 70 8g.  Sorry to withhold on this kitten but I did not think her face to be completely straight, her nose being slightly to one side.
AV SLH 14 WEEKS – 6 MONTHS KITTEN:
1 BLACK’S LIZZARA MOONBEAM 13c6.  A very sweet kitten of promising type.  Head quite broad, with medium length nose and a slight dip in profile.  Quite full cheeks and nice chin developing. Medium size ears well placed on her skull.  Super eyes with a very promising deep blue I would have liked them to be a little larger in size. Medium length body with nice depth and substance.  Thick set medium length legs.  Round short paws.  Medium length tail.  Very nice silky coat texture.  Her gloves dipped slightly to the inner side but were to the line across the paw.  Her back gloves covered the entire paw, her gauntlets reaching half way up the hock and were slightly blunt rather than tapering.  Very well shown and handled very nicely.
2 DAVIDSON’S LIONMAINE BEARFACE BRIAN 64 41sw.  A very stylish kitten with considerable style.  Very promising development with nice head balance, large, well spaced ears.  Expressive large slightly obliquely set eyes.  Shallow concave curve in profile.  Firm chin.  Unfortunately at the moment he is a little undershot, I can but hope this is a developmental issue that resolves itself when he teethes.  Super frame and body with long tail.  Very well shown.
AV SLH 6 – 9 MONTHS KITTEN A:
1 POOL’S DALTEEMA STARDUST 13c6.  I thought this young lady was really striking.  Very attractive kitten with very nicely balanced head, with good breadth to skull and nicely rounded muzzle.  Medium sized ears that were nicely spaced apart.  Expressive eyes almost round in shape and the most lovely deep blue in colour. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile.  Adequate chin to balance.  Medium body that was of nice weight and medium length legs.  Bushy tail balancing the body length nicely.  Her gloves were very well marked, her back socks were fully coloured to cover the back paw and her gauntlets extended to half way up her back leg and slightly tapering.  Very well shown and such a lovely girl to handle.
2 GREGSON’S DRAGONMAINE SHRUIKAN 64 41a.  Very well grown lad with nicely developing head type.  Large, high set ears with nice width between.  Promising balance of width to length balance.  Expressive eyes that were large and well open and slightly obliquely set.  Shallow concave curve to profile and promising squareness to the muzzle.  I do hope that his chin continues to develop just a little more to give the final bit of balance to his head.  Promising frame, long and well filled with super boning to his legs.  Long, well furnished tail.  Very well shown.
3 MELLOR’S BULLAMOOR BRAVEHEART 13c1
AV SLH 6 – 9 MONTHS KITTEN B:
1 KILMARTIN’S LIONMAINE LIMITTED EDITION 64 41ew.  It was nice to meet this young lady again and she continues to develop really nicely. Well furnished ears that sit nicely on her head with super tufts and tips.  Very nicely balanced head type with expressive large, bold eyes correctly set.  Shallow concave curve in profile with nice perpendicular line and firm chin.  Long frame with good body weight and long, well furnished tail.  Very well groomed coat with attractive colouring.
2 NORGESKAUKATT SKVALASSON
3 LAMONT’S CATTITUDE DÉJÀ VU 66
AV PERSIAN/SLH NOT HAVING WON A PC OR IC NEUTER:
1 TROTTER’S JULESCOON STONEWALL JACKSON 64 44dw.  Still quite a young man but with a super frame and lovely balance to his head type.  Large, well placed ears with a super large expressive eye.  Shallow concave curve to profile with firm chin and very nice square muzzle.  Long frame so well filled, and long tail to balance.  Very well shown coat displaying very nice strong colouring and patterning.
2 MCALENEY ADSETLO BLUE PASSION 66at.  Attractive female neuter with very pleasing head type. Expressive eyes of nice blue tone.  Very well shown.
3 WISEMAN’S BRAEKITZ DOLLYMIXTURE 64 41esw
AV PERSIAN/SLH ARISTOCRAT NEUTER:
1 HAMILTON’S PR TRELGANDORF SILVER BANDIT 64 31ts.  Mature lad with super head type and balance.  Long frame and tail with very well shown coat, just some tarnishing that detracted a little.
2 WISEMAN’S TRAPPISTINI SHANAWN 64 44d Rather a nervous exhibit who overall had a slightly finer head type and lacked a little on the squareness of his muzzle.  Long body and quite a long tail and again well shown.
CHARITY CLASS – AV PERSIAN/SLH ADULT
1 NIVEN’S CH NOREXOTIKATTS CASPERCAROT 70 19. A pleasing exhibit with very nice head and type.  Round copper eyes.  Short nose, full cheeks and firm chin.  Quite a cobby frame with short tail and legs.  Thick dense coat that could have been slightly better groomed to do him total justice.
2 NIVEN’S NORGESKAUKATT TROYA 67 31ts  6.6.03.  Pleasing mature female with balanced triangular head type.  Large ears set apart on her skull and following the lines of her head. Large eyes that were very well opened and slightly obliquely set.  Virtually straight profile with adequate chin to balance her head.  Long body with very nice weight, long limbs, the hind slightly longer than the fore.  Round tufted paws.  Long tail that was quite well furnished.  Her coat was very thick indeed with the double coat very much in evidence with a nice slightly coarser feel to the top coat.  Very sweet to handle.
3 NIVEN’S CH DOLINA XCALIBAR
CHARITY CLASS – AV PERSIAN/SLH NEUTER:
1 ASHWORTH’S UK GR CH & UK IGR PR EMERISLE DIAMANTE 66 31. A really lovely example of the breed, at nearly 9 years of age she was looking really very nice on the day.  Broad head with flat plane and nicely placed medium sized ears, slightly forward tilting. Full cheeks with rounded muzzle and firm chin.  Expressive eyes of sound blue colouring. Long body and tail, covered in a very nice silky texture coat with even pale blue points colouring.  Very well shown and very sweet to handle.
2 DEMBSKI’S CH & PR BAUDRONS GANDALF 12a2.  Another eye-catching mature exhibit with wonderful balance and super coat to top him off!  Very little to choose between these two ambassadors of their respective breeds.
PLAYDROME SPECIAL CLASSES
AV PERSIAN/SLH GRAND CHAMPION OR IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION:
1 MILLICAN’S GR CH CULLYKHAN BOBBI SOX 12a7.  I am totally in awe of this really lovely female, she has the most wonderful bone and conformation coupled with super head type and very bold eyes.  Her coat was groomed to perfection and the cream pale and sound, I do not think I have seen better coat colouring for some considerable time.  Congratulations to her devoted owner/breeder on such a wonderful cat.
2 GR CH LAZANE ON CLOUD NINE 2a
AV PERSIAN/SLH GRAND CHAMPION OR IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER:
1 ASHWORTH’S IGR PR RAGALYN BLUELAGOON 66 31a.  Another very pleasing exhibit.  With wonderful broad head and flat plane.  Great width to his cheeks and nice rounded muzzle.  Large, expressive eyes of a lovely mid blue in colour, slightly obliquely set and with nice width between. Medium length nose with gentle dip and a firm chin to finish the balance well.  Long frame that was so well filled and great substance to his limbs.  Long tail that was bush and slightly tapering.  In full coat that was of silky texture and so well shown.
2 BRADLEY’S PR VONVARDA KA CHINA 66 31a.  Another lovely example of the breed, with such a sweet nature and very well built! The deciding factor on the placings came down to slight maturity and a better eye colour on the winner.

Mrs S Bullock

The usual friendly show, although somewhat cold in the hall for the exhibits. It appeared to get quite busy in the afternoon, so hope it was a good gate. Many thanks Erica Ritch for her company and handling of the exhibits.

NORWEGIAN FOREST NEUTER :
BOB Barton’s PR NORGESKAUKATT ARMANI.
USUAL ABYSSINIAN ADULT FEMALE:  I was unable to make an award in this class, as the first two placed cats, who both appeared to be very nice,  were far too aggressive, and not displaying the temperament we have strived to achieve in this breed.

Mrs S Crichton

My thanks to the hard working show team, Isabel, Pamela and Denise for the invitation and hospitality at this popular show which was great fun as usual. I had a bumper number of cats with some super maine coon and birmans and was also delighted to see some tabby kittens. My grateful thanks are due to Andrew Lindsay who is an excellent companion who handles the cats so well, putting them at their ease and nothing is too much trouble for him. Many thanks again, Andrew. The biceps certainly came in handy lifting all those huge maine coons!

OPEN Classes

Tortoiseshell Adult

BOB Morris’s GR CH WESTHOLME CAPTIVATION

A cobby girl who was just over three and a half and who has good Persian type with a pleasing facial expression and lovely nature as well. Very broad top of head with neat ears that were set low and far apart on the skull. Large eyes that were fully round and had good orange eye colour and bold expression. A very short nose with a good nose break. Full cheeks with plenty of width and a broad muzzle with a scissor bite. Her chin had plenty of depth and balanced the top part of her face. The body was of medium size, low set on short thick legs which had all four feet well broken with tortie colours. The coat was of medium length, full and soft, of a good texture and was red over her shoulders and with a red patch on the back of her head.  The face was also showing quite bright tortie colours in a pleasing pattern. The tail was short and fluffy and well coloured. A sweet soul who handled very well.

1 CC Piasecki’s PURRSRUS SOMEONETOLOVE

A very large girl who had strong cobby shape that was solid and of a good weight set on short squat legs. She was only just over a year old and had a broad rump and large round paws with all four feet broken with colour. Head shape was very broad but had a slight head bump. The ears were neat and well placed on the head but just a little pricked. Eyes were large in size, fully round in shape and which were bold and clear with orange eye colour that could have been deeper for perfection but not helped by the lighting in the hall which tended to drain orange shades. She had very full cheeks and a broad muzzle with a sweet short snub nose that had a good size nose leather of pink and black. The chin was very strong and she had a scissor bite. The coat was very long and full, free flowing with rich red and black markings. There was some intermingling of the hairs but a good red patch on the back of her neck and on the body and the texture was silky and soft. The tail was very full and short and well proportioned. Show preparation was good and she had a placid gentle disposition.

2 Muir’s ASHANEEKA LA REINA

A young female of ten months with pleasing type who has still some developing to undertake and still a little immature and kitten like at present. She was of medium build, cobby in shape and was balanced and supported on short sturdy legs with all four paws broken with colour. Head shape had a square outline with a head bump at present and with neatly placed ears of small size, set well apart. Huge round eyes that were very noticeable with super deep orange eye colour and which were bright, alert and had a lovely expression. The profile was good with a short nose showing a strong nose break. Her muzzle had plenty of width and she had full well developed cheeks with a extremely strong chin that was making her features just a little unbalanced at present. Her bite was slightly undershot with the upper incisors slightly dished. The colouring on the face was good with a full cream patch on her left muzzle. The coat was of medium length and was soft and full with good rich red patches on the flanks and underside of the body but otherwise she could have been better patched on her back which was rather dark in colour. The tail was very short and well furnished. A well presented girl who was very friendly when handled.

3 Thomson’s WOOSY TOODLE DOODLEDOO

Just over a year and a half, this tortie girl had a smooth top of head that had very good width with neat well set ears that had long ear feathers. Her eyes were lovely and large, fully round with good orange eye colour. Her nose was very short with a good break and cheeks that were a little pinched and need to fill out more. The bite was not quite level and the chin was fairly deep but the overall balance of the face could have been better. Body shape was fairly cobby, set on short stocky legs with four broken paws that had good feathering. She was not in coat on the day although what she had was soft and well prepared. Small red patches were visible on her head and she had a reddish frill and red on her underside between the legs otherwise the colouring was somewhat dark on her back. The tail was short but lacking in furnishings on the day.  A very quiet gentle girl with a sweet nature.

Brown, Blue, Chocolate or Lilac Tabby Kitten

1 and BOB Morris’s HEATHROSE WOODSTOCK

A four month old brown classic tabby kitten type with good type who was well grown for his age with a cobby shape, firm body on short stocky legs. Fairly broad top of head which had a slight head bump at present. Neat well placed ears that were set far apart and which had long ear feathers. Very large round eyes with eye colour that was still changing and was muddy shade but showing a faint green rim in the hall lights and which hopefully will disappear as he matures. Short snub nose with a definite stop and pink nose leather edged with black. The cheeks were filling out well and he had a fairly wide muzzle. He had a firm chin and a scissor bite with the teeth position was very slightly overshot and which may possibly be perfect later. Tabby markings were dense black and clearly evident on both head and body and were in good contrast with the somewhat cool ground colour that was not a rich copper brown at present. The forehead had a definite ‘M’ and his eyes had black outline surrounded by clear pale spectacles. The muzzle was a pale creamy shade and was well spotted and the eyes had an unbroken line running towards the back of the head. There were lines running over the top of head towards the shoulders and there was pencilling on the cheeks. The neck had a couple of necklaces and he had bracelets on all his limbs. The body had a dark butterfly over his shoulders and the back had three classic black tabby lines running down the body and classic black stripes down the body sides. His tummy also had many clearly distinct spots. Coat length was long and fairly full and he had a short fluffy tail with tabby rings visible. A confidant kitten who handled well.

Red, Cream or Tabby Kitten

1 and BOB McClusky’s JENZJEWELS ZURI

A black tortie mackerel tabby girl of eight months of age who was a large kitten with pleasing type. Body shape was cobby with a broad chest and well rounded rump set low on short squat legs that had well feathered paws. She had a broad head that was bumpy at present and with well set ears of fairly small size and which had long ear feathering. Very large eyes had eye colour that was not yet fixed and was still changing. It had a slight green rim in the hall lights and was a muddy orange shade. The nose was short and had a good nose break and full pink nose leather edged with black. She had full cheeks and a pale broad muzzle and a pale chin that was firm and balanced. She had a scissor bite that was also tending to be very slightly overshot. Coat length was good, being long and full and had visible tabby markings on the head and body and was dense black contrasting with the copper brown ground colour that was overlaid with shades of red in places but tortie colouring could have been better and more obvious. She did have a red patch on the top of her head and one on the back of the head near her neck but it was less obvious elsewhere. The tabby pattern on the head showed an ‘M’, black eye rims surrounded with pale spectacles, a well spotted muzzle, eye lines running backwards and pencilling on the cheeks. The body had clear necklaces, barring on the legs, a clear butterfly on her shoulders and tabby lines down the sides of the body. The dorsal surface had a thick black line down her back with some scattered hairs showing strong agouti banding at present and needs to be more clearly defined and her tail was short, very thick and full and had just a hint of tabby ringing. A gentle kitten when handled.

Maine Coon Silver Tabby Series Kitten Male

1 and BOB Davidson’s LIONMAINE BEARFACE BRIAN

A three month old silver classic tabby and white kitten who was very well grown for his age with a balanced, solid body shape that was muscular and rectagonal with a square shaped rump supported on strong legs with short tufted paws. Medium length head shape but with the lower part of the face needing to lengthen a little further as he matures and allowance was given for this considering his age. He had a firm muzzle which was silvery white and almost square and had tabby spots mainly on the right hand side. His nose was long, of uniform width and had a slight concave dip at the nasal bridge. The cheeks were developing well, the chin was firm and he had a level bite. His ears were tall, large, pointed and open at the base and set well on the head with good long ear tufts and lighter short ear feathering. There was a tiny spot of tarnishing at the back of his right ear which was undesirable and hopefully will disappear in time. The eyes were full and round and well spaced with hazel eye colour, set slightly oblique and with light spectacles. His tail was long and reached well up to his shoulders, wide at the base and tapered gently at the tip. The fur was long and flowing and had numerous tabby rings. The coat was glossy and was shorter over the head, neck and shoulders with a frontal ruff just starting to develop. The throat, muzzle, chest and body underside were totally white and the white areas covered about one third of the body surface area. This boy also had excellent tabby markings which were a dense black overlying a silvery agouti ground and were very clear and distinct. He was showing a clear ‘M’ on his forehead, good head lines running over the top of head and pencilling on his cheeks. His back had three strong black unbroken spine lines running the whole body length and the four limbs had white. A good natured boy who was well presented and who looks very promising and was chosen for best of breed on account of his excellent tabby markings and in spite of his young age.

Maine Coon Silver Tabby Series Kitten Female

1 Chapman’s COONTASTIC MARTHA JONES

A classic tortie silver tabby girl of eight months of age who had good head type and physique. Excellent long body with a rectangular shape, good chest width and long neck. The body was supported on strong legs which had large well tufted round paws. Medium length head with correct dimensions and having a strong silvery white muzzle that was already developed and showing good tabby spots. Her nose was long, of uniform width, with a slight dip in profile and with a full pink nose leather. Tall, well set ears which had long ear tufts and lighter ear feathering. They tapered to a point and were wide at the base. The bite was level, the chin was firm and in line with the nose leather and upper lip. Cheeks were fairly full and needing to develop further as she matures. Her eyes were round and large in size and had yellowish green eye colour, widely spaced and with a slightly oblique setting in the face, showing clear spectacles and with a gentle pleasing expression. Tabby markings on the face were clear having a definite ‘M’, head lines and pencilling on her cheeks. Tortie patches of  black and red over a silvery white agouti ground colour were clearly visible on her face. The tail was long, flowing and broad and gently tapering towards the tip with just a hint of tabby rings. The coat was fairly long and glossy showing clear tortie colouring over her back and having a very clear butterfly but rather diffuse tabby lines down her back. She had clear necklaces and barring on her limbs. A well presented girl with a lovely temperament.

2 Kilmartin’s NITERAP CATRAYA

A classic silver tabby and white girl who is a very pretty female just over eight months of age with good type. She has a medium length head of correct proportions but could grow a little more in length for perfection as she still has some more developing to undertake. Well set ears that were large, tall and had good ear tufts and light coloured ear feathering. She had a white muzzle that was almost square and still widening. Fairly full cheeks with high cheek bones and a level bite with a good firm chin. Her nose was long, of uniform width with a slight curved dip at the nasal bridge and had a pink nose leather edged with pigment. Her eyes were most appealing and were large and round in shape, spaced well apart and had golden eye colour and correct slightly oblique facial setting. Body shape had plenty of length being rectangular and of a good size for her age with a firm rump. She had well muscled legs, set high with large rounded, well tufted paws. Her tail was long and full, reaching her shoulders which tapered towards the tip but had faint tabby markings which were not very clear and could have been stronger. The coat was soft and glossy, in excellent condition, being shorter around the head and neck but a little longer on the body. Her back had a large rounded patch of tarnishing which detracted from her appearance on the day and which hopefully will disappear in time. The frontal ruff was starting to develop and the fur was shaggy on her breeches. Tabby markings were good on the face but very diffuse over the lower back region and she needs to develop denser black markings over the silvery white agouti ground colour on her back. She had a clear butterfly over the shoulders and oysters on her flanks. The head had clear tabby markings with an ‘M’ on her forehead, spectacles around her eyes while the lower face was white with a white muzzle and chin, a white bib, chest and underside. All four feet had white socks that were pristine white and there was very clear barring on her limbs. A promising young lady with plenty of personality who handled well and has a pretty feminine look.

1 Gardner’s PALMAINE GIGOLO

A handsome classic red tabby kitten, almost an adult, who had an excellent physique for his age being a large boy with a long rectangular body that was solid and heavy with a broad chest, long neck and a square shaped rump set on substantial thick legs with large paws which were well tufted. Medium length head of correct proportions had tall ears that tapered to a point and which were open at the base and had distinctive long ear tufts. The nose was of uniform width and had a concave dip with a large pink nose leather.  Large eyes were very expressive which were fully round had eye colour that was greenish in the centre and more yellowish at the edges of the iris. They were spaced far apart and had a slightly oblique setting. His cheeks were fairly full and still had to develop further and the bite was level. The muzzle was very square and had clear tabby spotting while the chin was firm and pale verging on white rather than coloured which would have been preferable. There was a clear ‘M’ on his forehead and he had good necklaces, bracelets on his limbs and a butterfly over his shoulders. Classic tabby markings were clear on the body with three dense spinal lines of deep red on an apricot agouti ground colour, running down his back.
There were oysters on his flanks and thick tabby lines on his sides. His tail was extremely long and flowing and tapered a little towards the tip and exhibited dense red tabby rings. A gentle boy when handled shown with good preparation.

AOC Maine Coon Kitten  Female

1 and BOB Kilmartin’s LIONMAINE LIMITED EDITION

A gorgeous classic tortie tabby and white kitten of seven months of age with a lovely facial expression and good type. One of my favourite cats of the day. She was well grown for her age with a solid muscular body of good length and rectangular shape with a fairly long neck in proportion. The legs were strong and had large round paws with short tufts.  Medium length head had a long nose of uniform width with a slight dip at the nasal bridge and a pink nose leather. Tall ears graced the top of head which could have been taller but had excellent black ear tufts. They were spaced well apart and open at the base. Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones developing and the bite was level. Her eyes were large and round in shape spaced far apart with yellowish eye colour and set slightly oblique. The tail was very full and long, reaching the shoulders  with a broad shape, flowing and tapering towards the tip. Her coat was lovely and full and was brightly coloured on the upper head and body showing dense black tabby markings on a warm copper agouti ground colour that was overlaid with rich shades of red. She had an ‘M’ on her forehead and good headlines running over the top. Her bib and underside were pure white and she had four feet that were white with the front ones just like birman gloves. The hind legs had identical tortie tabby patches of black and red on the underside of the feet  near the hock which were very cute and perfectly symmetrical! The body was brightly coloured with good tortie tabby markings and the legs had definite barring. A delightful exhibit who was well presented and a poppet when handled.

Large eyes with orange eye colour which could have been deeper and with pupils that were very dilated today. Very short nose with a strong stop, good nostrils and a full black nose leather. Full fat cheeks, broad muzzle, strong chin and a scissor bite and which had the lower incisors slightly dished. Good black coat that was thick, dense and plush of a sound black colour and with a short fat tail. A cat with a naughty temperament who was dying to give us some mischief! 2 Morris’s COUNTRYGIRL CHERRYBLOSSOM

Newly an adult, this red self girl had very good type with a lovely facial expression and a truly cobby persian body shape set low on short legs. She had a broad smooth rounded top of head with lovely tiny ears that fitted neatly into the skull contours. Bold clear eyes of round shape and large size and had good orange eye colour. A wee snub nose had a clear nose break and a pink nose leather. She had lovely fat chubby cheeks, a well formed muzzle and a strong balanced chin with a scissor bite. The coat was fairly long and full and was of a good texture and had a short very well furnished tail and both were a rich shade of red but showing very deep tabby markings at present all over the body and tail and which were too prominent for a red self in my opinion, not being ghost tabby markings and hence the lower placing on the day.

3 Gregson’s GR CH ADCINLO JULESCOON BOJANGLES

A massive well built brown tabby and white maine coon with excellent physique, aged almost four year old, who refused to come out for us. He was a little stroppy when we tried to handle him and neither I nor my steward wanted to cause ourselves any damage with a big heavyweight boy like him! He had good maine coon type having a large frame of great length and rectangular shape with a broad chest and a well squared off rump. The legs appeared pretty substantial to support his large frame and he had fat large rounded paws. Head shape was strong and of medium length with tall ears that were well set and which tapered to a point and had black tufts and lighter ear feathering. The eyes were set oblique and were large, fully round with greenish eye colour and set well apart wih a lovely defiant expression. The nose was of uniform width and had a slight dip in profile with a full deep pink nose leather edged with pigment. The cheeks were full and he had high cheek bones, a balanced firm chin but the bite was not seen. The muzzle was very square and white and he had a white bib and underside with feet that had white socks but not all four were visible as he sat in his pen. The coat was shorter over the head and shoulders but longer on the body and was glossy with black markings that could have been denser over the warm copper agouti ground colour. It was shaggy on the lower part of the body and on the breeches. The tail was of a good length and had tabby rings. A regal boy with plenty of attitude!

AC Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest or Siberian Non-Breeders Adult

1 Campbell’s GR CH DOTCOM LESTER

I really love this boy as he has wonderful type and I always find I pick him out in a line of excellent cats. He is definitely a favorite of mine! He is a massive brown tabby and white maine coon chap with good boning, a muscular and very long rectangular body, broad chest, fairly long neck and well squared off rump. Substantial thick legs support his solid heavy body shape which needed block and tackle to lift him out of the pen. His medium length head had well set ears that were very tall, large and tapering to a point, with good ear tufts, lighter ear feathering and wide at the base. Huge round eyes of large size and greenish eye colour and with a lovely gentle expression, set at a slightly oblique angle in the face. The nose was long and was of uniform width and had the correct dip in profile with a brick red nose leather edged with brown. The cheeks were fairly full and he had high cheek bones, a very square muzzle and good strong chin depth. The coat was soft and glossy and was of mid length being slightly shorter on the head and neck but longer on the body and with a short ruff already framing the head. The tail was full, flowing, long and tapering gently at the tip and he had well developed shaggy breeches. The coat had good classic tabby markings on the body, being dense black markings on a rich warm shade of copper agouti ground colour. He had a tabby ‘M’ on his forehead, spectacles around the eyes, headlines and pencilling on his cheeks. There were three strong black lines that were unbroken running down his back and a clear butterfly at the shoulders and oysters on his flanks. The white areas were found on his bib and chest with a broad white line running the length of his tummy. All white areas were a clean sparkling white and the front legs had short white paws with the hind limbs having long white socks and the upper parts of the legs had clear tabby barring. A very serene regal cat who has plenty of presence.

2 Barton’s NORGESKAUKATT AHTARRA RANE

This was the first time I have met this green-eyed white norwegian forest cat who was very impressive and was only ten months old. She had a strong long body that was well muscled and had high set  long legs with well tufted paws. Head shape was good being triangular and with high set ears that were open, pointed and well tufted, set correctly on the skull. The distance between the ears was correct being less than one ear width. She had large eyes that were full, green in colour and had a slightly oblique setting in the face. Her profile was good being long with a straight nose and with a full pink nose leather. The bite was level and she had a balanced firm chin. The coat was a clean white with a good ruff and knickerbockers and a thick well furnished tail of good length.

3 Gardner’s CH ADSETLO PALMAINE BANDANNA

A young female tabby and white maine coon not yet two years old but with excellent body shape, being well grown and with correct long body shape and square shaped rump set on thick strong legs. She had good type with fabulous classic tabby markings that were very striking. Medium length head shape had very tall well set ears, pointed, tufted and open at the base. The nose had a shallow dip in profile and a deep pink rather than brick red nose leather. Great round eyes had yellowish green eye colour surrounded with clear light spectacles. The cheeks were fairly full with the muzzle needing to strengthen further. The bite was level and she had a firm chin. The bib, chest and tummy were a clean white and all four limbs had white socks. The tabby markings on the head were exceptionally clear having a strong ‘M’ on the forehead, pencilling on the cheeks and lines running over the top of head. She had a good butterfly over the shoulders, three very strong unbroken black lines running down the back and oysters on the flanks. A frontal ruff was developing and the fur was shorter over the head and neck regions but longer over the body. The breeches were shaggy and tabby lines were clearly evident down the side of the body with barring on the limbs. A very long well feathered tail that reached the shoulders completed the picture. A balanced exhibit who was well shown.

AV SLH Visitor’s Adult

1 Leppard’s KLASSYKLOGS KATRIONA

A young sealpoint adult of ten months of age with lovely birman type who I judged as a kitten and who is really blossoming into a beautiful female adult. She had a medium size build with a firm solid body supported on strong well muscled thick set legs with short paws. Well shaped head that was broad and well rounded with medium size ears that were well placed and set far apart. Beautiful eyes that were almost round in shape and which had excellent deep blue eye colour and lovely expression. Her profile was good with a medium length nose that had a slight dip at the nasal bridge with a seal brown nose leather and a firm well tapering chin. The cheeks were round with plenty of width,  still filling out and the bite was level. The coat was silky and soft in texture with a ruff developing and was of a clear pale shade of beige and showing a slight golden saddle over her back. Her tail was bushy and of medium length which was in proportion to the body length. The points were a rich seal brown shade with a fully developed mask that covered the face well and matched the other points. The socks and gloves were pristine white, clean and sparkling. The gloves were well matched and very slightly scalloped. The socks were not quite matching on the upper part of the foot but covered the entire paw. The gauntlets were of equal lengths but varied in width as one was beautifully tapering and the other one was just a little blunter in shape. A delightful girl who is very promising and was very feminine with a lovely gentle nature.

2 Wilson’s JULESCOON TOTO

A young classic brown tabby maine coon just over a year old who is developing well. A handsome chap with great body size for his age and who had a good boning and a muscular body shape that was a good weight. He had a broad chest and a long rectangular body shape with a square shaped rump. The head was of medium length and carried on a moderately long neck and had tall ears that were sitting proud and sited far apart on his head. They were wide at the base and had good ear tufts and shorter pale ear feathers. Correct profile had a nose of uniform width with a shallow dip and a full nose leather of deep pink outlined with dark pigment. His eyes were large, fully round and were yellowish green in colour and were set slightly oblique surrounded by clear spectacles. He had a good square muzzle, fat whisker pads that was showing tabby spotting and very long whiskers. The cheeks were full and he had high cheek bones. The bite was level and he had a firm chin. A glossy coat covered his frame well and was just a little shorter over the neck and head areas but was longer on the body and breeches which were shaggy. His tail was fairly long and full and in proportion to the body length. Tabby markings were exceptionally clear throughout. The head had a definite ‘M’ on the forehead, clear headlines running over the top of head, and pencilling on the cheeks. He had a strong butterfly over his shoulders, unbroken spine lines running down his back and clear spots on his tummy. The tabby lines were black over a warm copper agouti ground colour and were visible as necklaces and barring on his limbs. The legs were also solid brown from the soles to the hocks. Still a youngster and not yet fully mature, this boy is still growing and already looks to be very promising.

A blue pointed mitted ragdoll.

AC Persian (Non-Self (14wks-6 mnths) Kitten

1 Bell and Craig’s SHEERBLISS GIFTWRAPPED

A three month old black silver spotted exotic boy with good type and who had excellent tabby markings. He was a delightful kitten with a sturdy firm body that was developing well and with short legs with black pads and a cobby body shape. Head shape was of a good width but had a slight head bump at present with very neat well set ears that were round tipped.  The cheeks were filling out well and he had a short snub nose with a black nose leather and a fat spotted muzzle. The eyes were large and round in shape and had clear paler spectacles and with eye colour that was still changing and not fixed. His chin was firm and he had a scissor bite. The tabby markings were a clear black over a silvery base colour and showing good contrast between the two. Silver was visible throughout the body including the chin and lips. He had a clear ‘M’ on his rounded forehead and good lines running over the top of head. The coat was fairly dense but not fully plush in a baby of this age but he had well developed spots over the body sides and he had a well spotted underside. The tail was short and thick with tabby rings and he had clear barring on his limbs. A promising baby who was very sweet and a pleasure to handle.

2 Morris’s HEATHROSE WOODSTOCK

3 Grubb’s BEECHBRAE HEARTBREAKER

A cute shaded silver exotic kitten but who was quite small for four months of age and should have been with a larger build. He had a firm body with short dumpy legs. Head width was in proportion being fairly wide with small ears that were placed well on top of the skull. A short upturned nose had a good break, a pink nose leather with a black edge. The bite was level, the chin was firm and he had cheeks and muzzle still filling out. The eyes were round in shape, outlined with black and were large in size with the eye colour still not determined and was of a blue green shade. On careful observation it was seen that he had a worrying condition where he appeared to have irregular control of his eyeballs that gave him the appearance of a squint which was such a shame. The coat had a good texture being dense and felt plush. He had a silvery white undercoat with black tipping that was denser on the body and flanks but lighter on the face and legs. The chin, chest and underside of the legs and tail were all silvery white. The paws were clean and had good black pads with no smudging at all. A sweet kitten who really was a heartbreaker.

AC Birman, Turkish Van or Turkish Vankedisi Breeder’s Kitten

1 Black’s LIZZARA MOONBEAM

A five month old tortie birman kitten. A little small in size for her age and could have been larger but who had a firm, solid body with medium height legs and short paws. The head was fairly broad, rounded and had well set ears of medium size. The face was well patched being texture was very soft texture was very soft seal brown and red and having a paler red blaze intermingled lightly with seal brown on her medium size nose which had a slight dip in profile but also with a slight bump at the end. The nose leather was full and was of a good shade of pink with a touch of seal brown. The eyes were not fully round but had deep blue eye colour and a sweet expression. The cheeks now need to develop more width and the muzzle needs to broaden. The bite was level and she had a firm chin that could be deeper. Her tail was in proportion to the body length and was well furnished. The coat was lovely and clear being a pale shade of fawn. It was fairly long and soft with a lovely silky texture. The points were showing some intermingling of colours and the mask was developing well. All feet were a clean white and she had good gloves that were well matched and even across the paw line. The socks were a reasonable match and the gauntlets were full and matching and almost reaching the hock. A girl with a sweet nature who handled well.

AC Birman, TurkishVan or Turkish Vankedisi Non-Breeder’s Kitten

1 Mellor’s BULLAMOOR BRAVEHEART

A handsome seal point birman boy with good type and very good substance for his age of eight months and who I was pleased to meet again. He has had a strong rounded skull with good width and with ears of medium size that were spaced far apart. Almost round shaped eyes had stunning deep blue eye colour that do not come much deeper and with a lovely birman expression. He has a good profile with a medium length nose that had the correct slight dip at the nasal bridge with a full seal brown nose leather. The cheeks were round and full and he had a level bite and a nicely tapering chin. The mask covered the face well and was a rich seal brown and matched the colour of the ears perfectly although there was very slight brindling on the mask and head at present. The other points were a shade paler. The body was muscular and firm, of a good weight with well boned legs of medium height and short strong paws. The tail was in proportion and was bushy and a shade paler than the other points. He had a beautiful coat long with a lovely full, well developed ruff which had a texture that was very soft and silky. It was of a pale beige shade with just a hint of a golden hue and was expertly presented. The feet were sparkling white and his right glove was slightly scalloped and had a line running down to the stopper pad but not beyond. The left glove had a slight dip of seal brown colouring between the toes. The socks were short with the right hand one just a little untidy at its edge. The gauntlets were of slightly different widths having the left one broader and tapering while the right hand one was narrower and blunt. A well mannered exhibit who was expertly presented for the show.

2 Pool’s DALTEEMA STARDUST

This tortie birman girl was just a couple of days older than the winner of this class. She has pleasing birman type and was a very pretty girl with good type. Broad head with a strong rounded skull shape. The ears were of medium size and were a reddish colours and were well sited on the head and spaced far apart. Balanced facial features with a head and mask that was showing good tortie colours of seal brown and shades of red. The eyes were almost round and had blue eye colour that was two tone at present. A medium size nose had a seal brown nose leather and a slight dip in profile and had a lighter blaze on half of her nose. The cheeks were full and she had a slightly tapering firm chin with a level bite. Body shape was balanced and was with good substance and weight and set on strong sturdy limbs with short paws. Her tail was of a good length and was bushy. The coat was soft, thick and fairly long in good condition and was of a soft texture and fawn colour. The tortie points were clearly visible showing good intermingling of the seal brown and red colours. The feet were clean and white and had gloves that were level and slightly scalloped. The socks were matching and the gauntlets appeared to be identical but hard to see as the left hand one merged with the pale colour of the legs. A well behaved girl who was easy to handle and who was in good condition.

3 Russell’s DALTEEMA CRRAILISO AMBER

A cream point birman girl who I have met before and who has good birman type. She is also eight months old and is a well grown kitten of large size and good boning set on strong legs of medium height and with short rounded paws. Head shape was broad and well rounded with well set ears of medium size. Her nose was of medium length and had a slight dip in profile with a full pink nose leather. Good width to cheeks with a level bite and a slightly tapering chin which could have been deeper for better facial balance. The cream mask was almost covering the face fully and was a pale shade of cream over the ears, legs and ended with a fully furnished bushy tail of medium length. Her coat was a lovely pale off white and was very clear and free of any shadiness. It was soft and very silky in texture with a ruff developing. The feet markings were pure white and had gloves that were set a little low on the upper part of the paw and were slightly scalloped while the right hand glove reached the stop on the underside but it was hard to see if it went beyond on account of the paleness of the fur and so was given the benefit of doubt. Here socks were symmetrical with the left one just slightly longer and the gauntlets were well matching. She had a delightful nature and really enjoyed being handled which was a great pleasure for me.

He had a good broad head which had a flat plane and plenty of width between the medium size ears. He had well developed cheeks with a fat rounded muzzle and a firm chin with a good level bite. The nose was of medium length and had a slightly retrousee tilt at the nasal bridge and had a good pink nose leather. His best feature were his beautiful large well opened eyes that had fabulous deep blue eye colour and which were set well apart and with a slight oblique setting. There was an inverted chevron on the lower face area. His tail was long and bushy and tapered gently towards the tip. The coat was fairly dense and of medium length with a silky texture and had well matching blue points with the lower back region being somewhat shady. A good natured cat when judged.

2 Forbes’s WEESAMS TIBBY

A young black tabby norwegian forest cat of eleven months. A sleepy cat who had a triangular shaped head with good width and with high set ears of large size. The profile was good being straight with a pink nose leather. The eyes were large in size with greenish eye colour when she opened them and were set slightly oblique. The face had an inverted white ‘V’ over the lower part and nose. The chin was firm and she had a good level bite. The body was muscular, firm and of a good length and had strong legs with good boning and hind legs set high. The paws were all white and the  tail was long and bushy. Tabby markings were of a mackerel pattern and there was clear barring on the legs. The coat was semi- long and glossy.

Mrs C Pike

Many thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to spend time in Glasgow.  I was most grateful to Celia Langford who came along to steward for me on such a busy day - thank you Celia.
BLUE LILAC TORTIE AND WHITE ADULT:
HINDLEY’S RISETTA SURPRIZE. I had to disqualify this exhibit for vast amounts of powder in the coat, my hands were covered in talc and when we blew the coat at least three times clouds of powder was coming out despite the owners claims that there was not powder in the coat
BLACK PERSIAN KITTEN – FEMALE:
1 WITHHELD
2 PATON’S LAFREBELLA JEEPERS 18THE JUNE 2008 BREED 1.  A very beautiful kitten with excellent type, the head being nicely rounded, small ears sitting low on head with full furnishings.  Cheeks full and round with strong chin and full muzzle.  Short broad nose with good break and black nose leather.  Large bright copper eyes.  A cobby shaped body with short thick legs and large round tufted paws.  Tail short and bushy and balanced to body.  A long thick soft coat which had been beautifully prepared and was of dense black colour sound and even colour.  On such a lovely kitten it was such a pity to see a horrendous bite which was so undershot that she could not keep her tongue inside her mouth and was obviously my reason for withholding 1st place.  She was delightful to handle.
IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION MALE:
1 IMP CAMPBELL’S GR CH DOTCOM LESTER. Brown Tabby and white Main Coon.  I hesitated before I awarded this certificate to this boy who I have judged before and seen better presented.  He had signs of stud tail and some rather sparse areas in his tail also his feet could have been cleaner however he had such an air of arrogance about him that I decided to award certificate.  Extremely laid back boy with a long strong body.  Long tail reaching to shoulder blades Body supported by substantial legs with large paws which had tufts of fur between the toes.  Medium length head with square muzzle and firm chin.  Nose of uniform width with shallow curve to the profile.  Large round eyes with slightly oblique set and spaced wide apart.  Large tall nicely feathered ears.  A nicely pattered coat with defined tabby markings.
RES IMP WRIGHT’S GR CH YEHESKA FRENZY FIRELFLY.  Red and white Maine coon.  This boys profile appears to change each time I see him albeit it could be that he was rather short of coat today and today he was not so chatty as the last time I judged him and his profile needed to have a gentler curve.  Medium length head with square muzzle.  Large eyes set slightly oblique.  Ears tall and wide at base with short tufts and well feathered.  A long strong body supported by substantial legs with large paws with tufts of fur between the toes.  A long tail which could have been a little more profuse.
IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE:
1 IMP KAPLAN’S GR CH BAYGAZER KLAWNIQUEKATARINA. Blue Birman female.  A lovely girl whose deep blue eyes really stood out.  Lovely Birman type with round broad head.  Ears spaced well apart and medium in size.  Nose showing the desired slight dip to profile on medium length nose.  Full cheeks and good chin with good bite.  A good body shape and she had a lovely feel to her.  Bushy medium length tail.  Very defined blue matching points on a silky soft albeit a little shady coat.  Tidy gloves and socks.  Nicely matched tapering gantlets.   Excellent temperament.
RES IMP HAY’S GR CH ADFURLO GLENKENS GLAYVA.  Seal Tabby.  What a gorgeous face and expression such an appealing look.  A girl of good weight but needs a slightly longer body.  Broad rounded head with medium sized ears which had good width between them and faint thumb prints.  Almost round blue eyes, Nose of medium length showing slight dip to the profile.  Full round cheeks with well developed chin with spotted whisker pads...  A beautifully prepared silky coat   even gloves and socks, nicely matched tapering gauntlets with all white sparkling.  Medium length bushy ringed tail.  Medium height legs showing broken stripes.  She was adorable.
BIRMAN GRAND CHAMPION MALE:
1 GR CH MCGOWEN’S CH BULLLAMOOR SUNBURST. Red Birman.  What happened to my lovely friendly boy from Edinburgh who was enjoying his day out he was so lovely there this time he wanted to eat me.  A really massive boy of great strength who had been beautifully presented.  Wonderful Birman type, Medium, sized ears spaced well apart.  Profile shows slight dip on medium length nose, almost round blue eyes.  Well developed cheeks and good chin with good bite.  Medium length bushy tail.  Even gloves and socks.  Almost matching gauntlets.  A silk soft pale cream body with light red points, Medium height thick legs with large round paws.    When I saw him later in the day he appeared a bit more settled.  I understand this certificate makes him a grand well done.
BIRMAN GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE:
1 GR CH BULLAMOOR SKY DREAMER. Blue Birman female.  I really loved the type on this young lady who had a beautiful long pale silky coat with a long ruff on a beautifully groomed and showing pale blue points contrast.  Lovely head with medium sized ears spaced well apart, full cheeks and chin with level bite.  Profile shows slight dip on medium length nose.  Almost round eyes deep blue in colour.  Good body shape with medium height thick legs.  Tail bushy and well balanced.  Snowy white tidy gloves, good socks, nicely matched tapering gauntlets.  An absolute delight.
RES GR CH Kaplan GR CH BAYGAZER KLAWNIQUEKATARINA. Blue Birman female (See imperial grand female winner class report)
AOV SEMI LONG HAIR GRAND CHAMPION MALE:  My apologies to exhibitors as I was not in schedule to judge these classes but unfortunately Mr. Scruton was unable to attend the show and I was given this class.
GR CH CHAPMAN’S CH BRILTHOR SHOGUN red shaded.  A gentle giant who I was pleased to see that his delicately coloured coat had been beautifully prepared this time.  For such a big boy he had a little squeak for a meow.  Excellent large body of rectangular appearance supported by substantial legs with large round and tufted paws.  Long tail reaching to shoulder blades.  Medium length head with square muzzle and firm chin with good bite.  Nose of uniform width show shallow curve to the profile.  Lovely expression to his pale amber eyes had had a slightly oblique set.  Large High cheek bones with fairly full cheeks.    I would have liked the ears to be a little larger and taller.  As previously mentioned super presentation and lovely to handle

CRAIG’S CH COURAGE OF GENTLE LIONS red tabby and white Maine coon.  Another big boy with very large body who would have benefited from a little more show preparation as his coat was a little open and he was shedding quite a lot of coat.  Substantial legs and large paws with tufts of fur appearing from under the paw.  Long tail with fairly profuse fur and reaching to shoulder blades.  Medium length head with square muzzle and good bite.  Shallow curve to profile on nose of uniform width.  Eyes full and spaced wide apart with a slightly oblique set.   Large tail ears however the right ear had some damage to it.  Although a little nervous he was a very friendly boy.
AOV SEMI LONG HAIR GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE:
GR CH GARDNER’S CH ADSETLO PALMAINE BANDANNA Brown tabby and white Maine coon.  A lovely girl with excellent tabby markings and sparkly white areas.  Head of medium length with strong square muzzle.  Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones.  Profile shows shallow curve on nose of uniform width.  Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. A good bite.  Excellent frontal ruff.  Full round pale green eyes with slightly oblique set.  Wonderful large tall ears which were wide at base well feathered and tufted at tips   A long solid large body  supported by substantial legs with large round paws which had tufts of fur appearing from under the paw.  Tail fur profuse and flowing with shaggy breeches and belly fur.
RES WITHELD
2 FORBES CH WEESAMS ABBI Brown Tabby Norwegian.  This girl’s coat pattern gave the appearance of mackerel and was quite dull in colour.  She had a triangular head shape but profile needed to be straighter, her ears needed to be larger as they were very small but did have long hairs out of the ears and also she was lacking in chin I was sorry but for a reserve grand she had to many faults.

Mrs J Tonkinson

My sincere thanks to Pamela and the committee and show team for the invitation north of the border and warm Scottish hospitality, it was interesting to meet some different cats. Brenda Leckie came and stewarded for me for which I am most grateful she handled the cats with great calm and efficiency which they all seemed to appreciate and guided me through quite a full book to allow me to catch my train home in good time, thank you Brenda maybe we could work together again sometime.

AV ORIENTAL IMPERIAL GRAND PRMIER MALE
IGRPR COX’S GR PR KHERAF RED HOTSHOT 37d MN 26/5/06 handsome mature red boy with well balanced head and large flared ears well set. Oriental olive green eyes and straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite with a few freckles on his lips. Elegant neck lines and long svelte body with a lovely short close and rich red coat that is sound to the roots and in excellent condition. Slender long legs and neat oval paws and wonderful long whip like tail that balances well with overall picture, wonderful gentle natured boy show in top condition and well presented.

ORIENTAL CINNAMON ADULT
1 CC WITHHELD HAMILTON’S ADATESH THIEFOFHEARTS 37k F 24/3/08 rather tense young lady with moderate head length and large ears of reasonable set but she was inclined to hold them quite tall. Pale green eyes slightly full in shape and almost straight profile with fairly good chin and level bite. Fair body length although holding herself rather hunched up and I would have liked a bite more size and weight to her even at this tender age. Bright cinnamon coat that is longer than I would like and sadly she is really quite unsound which is my main reason for withholding, slender legs with neat paws and fairly good length of whip tail but she had it tucked right under her tummy, sorry but she is not really of certificate standard right now.
BOB HAMILTON’S CH ADISH WISTFUL WILLOW 37k F 31/10/05 mature queen with quite good head of medium length and large well placed ears, oriental set green eyes and almost straight profile with quite good chin and level bite, she is just inclined to puff out her whisker pads. Long body with reasonable muscle tone and warm cinnamon coat that is basically sound, nice and short lying nicely against her form. Slender long legs with neat paws and good length of whip like tail to balance, relaxed and confident well presented.

ORIENTAL SPOTTED TABBY ADULT
1 CC WITHHELD WOOLLEY’S EMERPUS TARTAN ROSE 38 F 18/12/07 not a very happy person, brown spotted tabby with quite good head for style with large well placed flared ears showing thumb prints and oriental set pale green eyes. Nice straight profile with good chin and level bite, scarab to brow, eye ribbons and whisker spots all present on copper ground. Long slender body and short close coat with well broken spine line but sadly the spots are quite poorly defined with low level of colour penetration and lots of agouti invasion and there could be more warmth to the ground colour generally. Slender legs with good barring and neat oval paws, good length of well ringed whippy tail, she is quite a nice queen for type and style but sadly too mant pattern faults to award the certificate.

ORIENTAL BLUE KITTEN
1 & BOB BODDY’S EMERPUS BLUE DANUBE 37a F 10/9/08 lovely lively little baby girl who was desperate to come out and play, good wedge head with huge wide based flared ears and bright green oriental eyes, straight profile firm little chin and clean bite. Slender little body and really short close lying coat that is maybe fractionally darker shade of blue but in excellent condition and sound to the roots, long legs and dainty paws with long stringy tail to balance, a real little darling with everything in proportion.

ORIENTAL BI-COLOUR KITTEN
1 & BOB MICHIE’S FISEPO BLUE SOLEIL 48 40g F 12/7/08 blue tortie point and white Bi-Colour young lady with quite a nicely balanced head and large wide based ears, almost straight profile with firm chin and level bite, oriental eye set although slightly full in shape and I would have liked a deeper shade of blue for my taste but the colour is acceptable, mostly blue and cream mask and ears with some small patches of white on her cheeks. Slender long body and she is well grown for her age with short close lying coat that is predominately  white with just a couple of small areas on her back that are pale bluish shaded. Slender legs with neat dainty paws all points broken with patches of white and a long whippy blue tortie and cream tail, slightly shy at first but warmed to the attention.

ORIENTAL RED NEUTER
1 PC & BOB GR PR KHERAF RED HOTSHOT 37d MN

SEAL POINT SIAMESE KITTEN
1 & BOB FRASER’S SERAPIS FREESPIRIT 24 M 17/7/08 quite pleasing young man with nice overall balance to his head and large wide based ears well set with good width across the top line. Wonderful almost lavender blue eyes and straight profile with nice depth of chin and clean bite, almost complete seal brown mask, he just has a slight tendency to puff his whisker pads. Long slender body of excellent weight and condition and short close lying cream coat that is virtually clear of any shading at this stage. Slender legs with neat oval paws with well matched warm seal brown stockings, I would have just preferred another inch on the length of his tail, but still a very nice young man of promise and sweet natured.
2 CAMPBELL’S DEDANNAN ELEGANTSA 24 M 26/7/08 modest young man with quite a short broad head, large ears of reasonable set but rather full pale blue eyes, almost straight profile and reasonable depth of chin with level bit and quite a dark seal mask lacking in warmth and with spectacles and some brindling. Quite good body length and more sturdy than elegant in appearance, short coat in nice condition although quite heavily shaded for this age although there is still enough contrast. Long legs with neat paws with well matched seal points colour, again I would have liked a slightly longer tail, good natured.

CHOCOLATE POINT KITTEN MALE
1 FRENCH’S PALMIRA BEAUJANGLES 24b M 5/9/08 rather stylish young boy with nicely balanced wedge head and huge wide based ears that follow the lines of the head well, brilliant blue oriental eyes and straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite and well developed milk chocolate mask although the pigmentation is quite complete on his nose, almost like spectacles have left a mark which I find distracting from the overall picture. Graceful neck and body lines with a really short close lying ivory coat in top condition, slender long legs and neat paws with pale milk chocolate stockings and lovely long whippy tail again well matched for colour, it was just the marks on his nose that held him back, sorry, excellent temperament and presentation.

CHOCOLATE POINT KITTEN FEMALE
1 & BOB MASON’S SEAPIS SPIRITOFADREAM 24b F 17/7/08 litter sister to the seal boy I see, a well grown young lady with nicely balanced even wedge and large wide based ears, lovely deep blue oriental eyes and straight profile with good chin and level bite although she does have a slight teething pinch to her muzzle at present and almost complete chocolate mask that is perhaps a fraction dark but it has warmth. Slender neck and body lines with soft textured ivory coat that is fractionally long but excellent lie and condition. Long legs with neat oval paws and lovely length of whippy tail, her stockings and tail are a slightly paler chocolate, lovely temperament.

TABBY POINT KITTEN
1 & BOB ROTHWELL’S RIVANESS PRINCESS SHADOW 32.8 F 1/8/08 very stylish caramel tabby point young queen with lovely head and huge wide based ears that show thumb prints. Wonderful deep blue oriental eyes and straight profile with good chin and level bite, she has single eye ribbons just visible, M to brow and whisker spots. Slender long body with short close magnolia coat that is fairly shaded along her back for this age in lovely condition, long legs and dainty oval paws and well defined caramel leg bracelets, super length of well ringed whippy tail, excellent temperament and presentation.
2 MASON’S ANUBIS QUE SERASERA 32.4 F1/6/08 lilac tabby point young queen with medium length even wedge and large wide based ears well set and brilliant blue oriental eyes with straight profile goof firm chin and level bite, there is a soft pinkie toned lilac M to her brow, very faint eye ribbons and whisker spots. Long body and clear magnolia coat soft textured in excellent condition, slender legs with neat little paws and very pale legs bracelets just starting to show, long whip tail with quite well defined rings but sadly there is a tiny but visible fixed deviation to the very end of her tail, what a pity, wonderful temperament nicely presented.

AC ORIENTAL BREEDERS ADULT
1 SAMPHIER’S EIREACHDAIL IVEGOT RHYTHM 48 40t F 14/5/08 quite pretty young seal tabby point and white with head of medium length with large wide based ears showing thumb prints, mid blue oriental eyes and almost straight profile with good chin and level bite just a few small tabby patches on her face but mostly white. Good length of body, her coat is mostly white and fractionally fluffy in texture and mostly white. Slender long legs with some tabby bracelets broken by white, neat paws and long tabby ringed whip tail, sweet natured young queen.

AC ORIENTAL NON-BREEDERS ADULT
1 ALLISON’S TRELGANDORF TABACOLORD 29 M 24/5/06 quite a handsome boy with lovely head and huge well placed flared ears, wonderful deep green oriental eyes and good strength of profile with firm chin and level bite, sadly he has lost the pigmentation on his nose and lips which although is not in the standard as a fault totally detracts from his otherwise good looks. Long firm svelte body with short close lying warm chestnut coat that is sound to the roots, slender legs with neat oval paws and lovely length of whip tail to balance, a pity about the loss of pigment.
2 TOSUN’S CH ADSETSH RUDOLPH 29 M 25/12/06 big rather woolly teddy bear who was totally terrified, short head that was quite round, ears of fair size but carried rather high. Full almost round pale green eyes, dip in profile and short broad blunt muzzle his bite is level. Short neck and big body that lacked muscle tone and a really dark almost black coat that was long woolly in texture extremely dark lacking warmth to the colour and unsound throughout. Reasonable length of leg, big paws and quite a broad tail of quite good length in proportion to hid body. This boy was very unhappy although sweet natured enough, his owner came to see me and we discussed his future.

He is a really lovely boy with and outstanding personality and his mask ear stockings and tail are all well matched for colour and along with the shading on his back I feel very strongly that he is blue and not caramel, hence his placing but I am not sure it is my place to wrong colour him although I believe that his open class judge did so.

Mr K Van Der Wijk

I was very pleased to get an invitation  from the Scottish Cat Club to judge at their 52nd All Breed Championship show in Clydebank on the 14th February 2009 The show was very well organised by the Show Manager Mrs. Isabel Walker and her team. Thank you! It was not only a well organised show, but also a very friendly and happy show. It was the first show after my illness where I could judge. It was such a shame for me that I had to cancel in July 2008 the Lincolnshire show but at that time I was in hospital for a severe operation. I would  like to thank my fellow judges for their congenial and friendly support .A big  thank you  to my very capable and very well organised steward Mr. George Gow  for his support throughout the whole day .It was a pleasure to work with him  I hope to meet you soon again George.
