Mrs L Miles

Many thanks to Shelagh, Kit and the committee for my invite to this superb show. Numbers were up which is amazing in a recession. I had 83 cats to judge. The standard of the cats and kittens was excellent and my grateful thanks to Shaun Knight who stewarded for me for the first time. He handled the cats with great care and I look forward to the next stewarding engagement with him.
AC GRAND CHAMPION [IMPERIAL] MALE:
IMP GR BULL’S GR CH KOLINGA HARVEY (16).  Lovely large boy with a super temperament. He just stands waiting at the pen door to come out and show off. This boy is well balanced, ‘four square’, he had a well balanced head, well set neat ears, chubby cheeks, round expressive eyes of deep gold, short broad nose, level bite and a firm chin. Chunky legs, huge rounded paws, Tail in proportion with just some ‘stud tail’ showing today. Excellent short dense coat which is sound to roots. Well deserved win today
RESERVE IMP KRAUSE’S GR CH ADFURSH BLUE TYCHO (16).  Another super boy with an excellent round head, good width between ears, just a tad flared at base. Super round eyes of orange colour, short broad nose, level bite, chin could be firmer for balance. He tends to have jowls rather than cheeks. Good depth to body with large sturdy legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion but showing excessive ‘stud tail’. I know this is difficult to get rid off, but does not look good in show cats. Coat of medium blue colour, very short but some scurf evident today
AC GRAND CHAMPION [IMPERIAL] FEMALE:
IMP GRAND ASH’S GR CH JOCOCA PAISLEY PARK (28).  Very pretty girl with a lovely open expression. Well rounded head, well set ears but a little flared at base. Large round expressive eyes or excellent orange, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. She is of a good weight for her size showing good mingling of cream and blue. All four paws broken with cream colour, tail of medium length. Coat is short but for perfection I would like it denser.
RESERVE IMP CLERKIN’S GR CH GREENDALE JENNY LIND (39).  Another very pretty girl with a lovely applehead, neat ears, huge eyes of excellent green colour sporting clear liner. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Body of good depth with matching legs and paws. Tail in proportion but rather skinny. She has excellent even tipping on a coat which is dense but just a little long.
BLACK ADULT MALE:
1 CC RISCHLING’S ADATESH HENDRIX.  Young man only just old enough to be in the adult section today. His headshape is developing nicely, with good width between neat ears just a little flared at base at present. Rounded cheeks, eyes of deep gold, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Tail of correct length with rounded tip. Just a little rangy at present, but he is of a good black colour, his coat is very short, could be denser for perfection and has a lovely temperament.
1 CC & BOB AERILLI’S WILLOWOOD WEDNESDAY ADDAMS.  What an amazing name! Stunningly gorgeous little girl, lovely applehead, good width between neat tiny ears, little balanced cheeks, large round eyes of orange colour, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy body for her size with good sturdy legs and paws. Tail in proportion. Excellent jet black coat, which is short, very dense and sound to roots. Lovely temperament.
BLUE ADULT MALE:
1 CC WHITE & ROBERT’S CASSIOBURY BLUEWARRIOR.  What an extremely vocal young man. He desperately wanted to be judged and walked straight out of the pen.  Huge boy but completely in balance. Super British headshape, with a really good width between tiny neat ears. Balanced cheeks, short broad nose, level bite and super round eyes of deep gold colour. Sturdy thickset legs and rounded paws. Thick tail with rounded tip. Super pale blue coat, short, very dense and sound to roots. Well deserved win.
2 SIDEY’S LATCHCATS GORGEOUS-GEORGE.  Super boy but a bit naughty today, unfortunately my steward couldn’t get him out first time round, and I just knew we had to have a good look at him as he was so ‘gorgeous’. Very kindly, Sandie Holloway who was stewarding for Jan Bradley, offered to ‘have a go’ and got him out. He really had got himself too excited, typical boy!! He has a really lovely rounded head with good width between well-set tiny ears. Lovely round eyes of orange colour, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. He is of good weight and has a really good balanced body shape. Sturdy legs and rounded paws. Coat of medium blue colour, short, dense, sound to roots, just a tad soft in texture. Sorry, he had to meet the winner today. Very promising young man
3 CROWTHER’S PRIDYKATS DANNY OCEAN.  Attractive boy with a lovely round headshape, good width between ears which are a tad large for balance at present. Excellent round eyes or orange. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Balanced cheeks. Cobby heavy body standing on good strong legs and rounded paws. Thick tail with rounded tip of medium length. Good medium blue coloured coat, very short in length, very dense and sound to roots
BOB BULL’S GR CH KOLINGA HARVEY
BLUE ADULT FEMALE:
CC WITHHELD BEESLY’S PUSHKAPAWS BONNY BLUE.  Sweet girl, and so sorry to withhold today. She has a really lovely open expression to her face. Headshape needs to be more mature. Ears a tad large for balance. Lovely round eyes of orange. Lacks cheeks at present, which would help to balance her head. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. She is of good weight for her size, but I would like her larger. Legs and paws in proportion to her body. Thick tail of correct length. Coat of palish blue, short, fairly dense but very unsound today with silver tipping.
2 KRAUSE’S ADVISH BLUE LILLYLOCKET.  Mature girl with a fairly good headshape. Excellent large expressive eyes of deep orange colour. She needs more defined cheeks for balance. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy body with good legs and paws. Tail in proportion. Coat of darkish blue, just a tad long, but dense in texture and just a little unsound today
3 SIDEY’S LATCHCATS EYE CANDY.  Girl of excellent type, well-set ears but flared and base, round eyes of deep gold, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Body of medium size with good legs and rounded paws. Tail of medium length, thick at base with a rounded tip. Coat of medium blue colour, fairly short, sound to roots and dense in texture.
AOC SPOTTED ADULT:
1 CC & BOB WELLS’ WESTENBACH DONNYBROOK (30b).  Wow, what a stunning girl. If my pocket had been larger enough, she would be home with me. Superb round head, excellent type. Well set tiny ears. Rounded balanced  cheeks. Excellent expressive eyes of orange colour. Heavy body of good depth standing on short thickset legs with rounded paws. Tail in proportion. Spots to die for. Clearly defined chocolate spots sitting on a warm bronze contrast. Coat fairly short, but very very dense. Only 9 and a half months old. Very very promising young lady with a super temperament.
2 MARLAND-ROUNDS’ CATBALU ZODIACAL LIGHT (30a).  Very pretty girl with a real ‘applehead’. Well set neat ears. Little cheeks. Large round eyes of deep gold. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Body of medium weight. Tail of medium length. Her spotting is rather elongated and barred instead of spots. She has a good warm ground colour. Coat short and fairly dense.
BI-COLOURED ADULT FEMALE:
CC WITHHELD MARSHLAND-ROUNDS’ CATBALU NYMPHAEA CAERVLEA (31a).
Sweet girl, rather immature for a c.c. just under a year old, so plenty of time to mature.  She has a well rounded headshape, with well set ears but rather wide at base for balance. Round dyes of deep gold, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin, of medium weight for her age. Attractive white blaze on her face, attractive white collar and good blue patching, which is a little unsound. Tail in proportion. Coat fairly short and dense. Sorry to withheld the c.c. today, but purely due to immaturity.
RED/CREAM/TORTIE TABBY NEUTER:
1 PC & BOB TOLTHURST’S CH & PR VECTENSIAN SPORTY SAM [19].  Very nice but very nervous today. Lovely round head, ears a tad large for balance, round eyes of attractive orange, little cheeks, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Excellent rich red tabby pattern on a clear contrast, coat short but could be denser for perfection.
BLACK SILVER TABBY NEUTER FEMALE:
1 PC & BOB COULTHURST’S SHADOWSMINE SILVER SHIMMER.  Lovely girl of excellent type. Well rounded head with neat well set ears, round eyes of hazel colour. Short broad nose which is brick coloured. Level bite, firm chin. Jet black tabby markings on a pale silver contrast. Coat short in length and dense. She has clear butterflies, and spinelines, but her oyster match but are muddly.
AOC SILVER SPOTTED NEUTER:
1 PC & BOB BARDSLEY’S TUFTON RED SOX [30ds].  Super boy of excellent type. He has a well rounded headshape with good width between neat ears. Eyes to die for, real copper in colour, and you don’t see that very often in a British cat. They just look dark brown. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy balanced body of good depth standing on short thickset legs and rounded paws. Rich red spotting on a creamy silver contrast. Coat very short and very dense. Very laid back placid boy.
BLACK/CHOCOLATE/LILAC TORTIE NEUTER:
1 PC & BOB NEEDHAM’S ROMANTSY LOU-LOU [21c].  Very nice girl with a good headshape, well set ears but flared at base. Round eyes of pale orange colour, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy weight to body. Good mingling of lilac and cream. Coat short but I would like it denser for perfection. She wasn’t too happy today and growled, but was o.k. to handle.

Mrs S Newman

Congratulations to Shelagh, Kettill and their team for running such a friendly and successful show and also for their hospitality.   There were lots of super cats to judge and I had a very happy day with my steward, Betty Newbury.   As usual, Betty handled the cats with expertise and confidence and I look forward to the next time.

AC PREMIER (GR PR), MALE
GPC  FARMER’S GR CH & GR PR FARJEM WHITE KNIGHT (14a), 8.10.06  White.
Huge round head with small ears set very wide apart.  Very short, broad nose with quite a deep stop.   Level bite, chin falls away a bit and squarish muzzle.   Super round orange eyes.   Very full cheeks.   Short, thick neck leading to heavy, substantial body with deep broad chest.   Short legs with huge round paws.  His tail seemed on the short side but this may have been because he was tensing it.   Lovely coat, very dense, crisp and short.   It was sparkling white.   He was not too happy out of his pen but friendly inside it.

RGPC  READ’S IOLANTHE BEN  (39) 14.04.07  Black Tipped.    Round head with neat ears.   Short, broad nose.   Level bite, firm chin and rounded muzzle.   Pale green eyes, almost round in shape.   Well outlined, brick red nose leather.   Cobby and sturdy, standing on short legs and with correct tail to balance.   Coat crisp and dense, fairly short.   Pale silver with heavy black tipping which is evenly distributed  but the tail is heavily ringed and has a black stripe down the centre.

AC PREMIER (GR PR), FEMALE

GPC HILLYARD’S GR PR POLLYFELINA BLUE KAMINO (16) 27.03.03  Blue.
What a whopper!   Large, round, domed head with neat ears set well.  Short, broad, straight nose with small leather.   Bite just about level.   Firm chin, rounded muzzle.   Full cheeks.  Large, round, deep orange eyes.  Very heavy, solid body with thick, short legs and round paws.   Good tail for length and shape.   Very dense, short, crisp coat.   It is of medium blue and sound to the roots.

RED/CREAM/TORTIE TABBY ADULT
1CC BOB HOARE’S VECTENSIAN RED ALEX (19)  08.07.07.   Male Red Tabby.  Round head with rounded top and neat ears.   Broad, straight nose.   Level bite, firm chin, rounded muzzle.   Quite full cheeks.   Round orange eyes.   Lovely wide-awake expression.   Cobby and well balanced with firm legs and good tail.   Coat is rather soft but it is dense and of reasonable length.   He has correct face lines; butterfly; necklaces.   The oysters match but are incomplete.   Clear spine lines.   Tail rings and leg bars.   Spots on his underside.   Markings are of super , deep rich red on a slightly lighter ground.   Promising.
2  CLAYTON’S LOVEJOY RINALDO (19) 28.05.08  Male Red Tabby.   He is only just an adut and still has a lot of growing to do.   Large ears which he needs to grow into.   Long, straight nose.   Rather small orange eyes.   Bite is a little uneven.   Firm chin, rounded muzzle.   Standing tall at present with slender legs but he is in balance.   Coat very soft and on the long side.   His head pattern is correct.   Butterfly is there but difficult to see, good oysters.   He has clear spine lines, leg bars and tail rings.   Spots on his underside.   The markings are of medium red on a gingery-red ground.

BLACK/CHOCOLATE/LILAC TORTIE ADULT
1 CC BOB SHEPHERD’S TRUBRIT MARMIGHT  (21)  06.04.08  Female Black Tortie.
Round head with neat ears set well.   Short, straight nose.   Level bite, firm chin and rounded muzzle.   Broad across her face and with a sweet expression.   Deep copper eyes.   Cobby and well balanced with short legs, round paws and good, thick tail.   Her coat is short and dense.  All paws are broken with both the dense black and rich red colours.   The colours are mainly well mingled but with a predominance of black.   Very pretty cat.
2  MARSLAND-ROUND’S CH CATBALU CANDY-CRISP (21b) 07.04.06  Female Chocolate-Tortie.    Round head with neat ears.   Short, straight nose.   Level bite, firm chin, rounded muzzle.  Deep orange eyes.   Her body is well balanced with short legs, round paws and  tail thicker at the base and with a rounded tip.   However, she is small and lightweight for her age.  Coat is fairly crisp but long.   It is of dark chocolate and shades of red but pales to the roots.   The colours are very well mingled, all paws broken with both colours.   She has a sweet temperament and purred all the time.
3  SKULSKI’S TRUBRIT NUTMEG (21) 21.05.08  Female Black Tortie.    Round head with ears she needs to grow into.   Short, straight nose.   Level bite, firm chin, rounded muzzle.   Round eyes with the colour still developing, muddy at present.   Standing tall at the moment on slim legs.   Longish body.   Very good, thick tail.    Coat is short and crisp with the black, rich red and paler red mainly well mingled.   Light red nose blaze and patch on chest.   Friendly.
4  SMITH’S DIXYLAN AICEINWONDERAND (21c), 21.05.08, Female Lilac-tortie.   Round head with small ears.   Round orange eyes.   Level bite and firm chin.   Correct nose.   At present standing tall on long, slim legs.   Long body and thin tail, pointed at the tip.   Coat crisp and fairly short.   Hot cream and cold lilac, quite well mingled but paling to the roots.

MANX ADULT
1 (CC withheld) DELLA’S DANZANTE DUSKY MAIDEN  25 22)  14.03.08  Female Tortie-and-White.  Pretty little cat but her coat is long, sparse and lacks the double texture needed which was my reason for withholding the CC.   Tall ears, open at the base.  Broad straight nose.  Level bite, strong muzzle.   Round hazel/yellow eyes.   Compact body with short back, completely rounded rump which is higher than the shoulders.   Her patches of deep black , rich red and white were clearly defined.

TIPPED ADULT
1 CC BOB  ROWE’S HEATHDOWN SHADOW DANCER (39) 27.05.08   Female Black Tipped.   Just nine months old today but she has the ability to show herself to great advantage.   Round head, small ears.   Large, round green eyes which were heavily outlined.   Short, broad nose with the leather pink at present and with faint outlining.   Level bite, firm chin, rounded muzzle.   Wide across the face, pretty expression.   Cobby and well balanced overall with thick tail of correct length and shape.   She is well grown and mature-looking.   Her coat is very dense and is crisp and quite short.   She has even, light tipping which pales on the legs and there are a few  faint ghost rings on the tail.   The black tipping is on a clear, pale silver undercoat.   A real poseur.
2  McEWEN’S PENNYDOWN SNOWEXCUSE (39) 01.09.07   Female Black Tipped.   Round ‘apple’ head with medium ears of good set.  Round eyes of two-toned green, outlined in black.  Short, broad nose with brick red leather outlined in black.   Level bite, firm chin.   Small and lightweight but well balanced with compact body, short legs and good thick tail.  Coat quite crisp, reasonably short.   There is light, even black tipping on her sparkling silver coat.  Just some ghost rings on the tail.

AC COLOURPOINTED BRITISH (exc Cinnamon & Fawn) ADULT, MALE
1  CC  HOLLOWAY’S WINDYMEADOW PEPE REINA (40 3) 15.05.08  Chocolate Pointed.   Very big boy for nine-and-a-half  months.   Round head with medium ears set well apart.   Short, broad, straight nose.   Level bite, firm chin, rounded muzzle.   Cheeks already very full.   Round, wide-open, light blue eyes, darker at the centre.   Heavy, muscular body with short, thick legs, round paws and good tail for length and shape.  Coat crisp, very dense and quite short.   Well matched points of rich chocolate providing very good contrast with the ivory body colour.   There is just a little tonal shading on the flanks.
2  WHITE & ROBERTS’ BONNIECHLOE RILEY (40 3) 16.04.08 Chocolate Pointed.   Another nice young boy, bad luck that he met the winner as it was a close thing.   Round head with medium ears set rather close.   Level bite, firm chin.   Cheeks need to fill.  Round pale blue eyes.   Heavy, long body with firm legs, round paws and correct tail to balance.   Coat short, crisp and quite dense.  Warm chocolate points on face mask, tail and ears, lighter on the paws.   Pale ivory body, virtually clear of shading at present.
(BOB ONLY) WEST’S CH WESTWAYS LITTLEBILL  (40 7) 25.01.06  Cream Pointed.

AC COLOURPOINTED BRITISH (exc Cinnamon & Fawn) ADULT, FEMALE
1 CC  HOLLOWAY’S WINDYMEADOW FABIO AURELIO  (40 5) 15.05.08  Red Pointed.    Litter sister to the winner of the male class and another very nice cat, well-grown and mature looking.   Medium ears set well on round head.   Short, broad, straight nose.   Round eyes of good, clear blue.   Cobby  body  with rather fine-boned legs and oval paws.   Tail rather thin.   Coat is crisp and dense but rather long.  Face mask, ears and tail of a stunning vibrant red.   Leg points are a little paler.   Creamy white body colour is virtually clear of shading.
2  BLACK & FULLER’S WESTWAYS DELILAH (40 7) 23.07.07  Cream Pointed.  Round head with medium ears set a little close.   Straight short nose.   Level bite, firm chin, rounded muzzle.   Excellent round eyes of really good blue.   Small and lightweight for her age with slender legs, round paws and thin, pointed tail.   Coat crisp and short.  Points of hot cream with considerable tabby  markings on the face mask and a heavily ringed tail.  Creamy white body colour with heavy tonal shading.

BLUE KITTEN, MALE
1  HOLLANDT’S SAKAHO APACHE-RENEGADE (16) 03.07.08.    Round head with neat ears.   Very short nose with deep stop and tiny leather.   Untidy bite.   Round orange eyes.  Cobby and well balanced with short legs, fat paws, good tail.   Coat short and crisp.   It is of medium blue and sound to the roots but has some silvering.
2  SKULSKI’S  TRUBRIT INDIANAJONES  (16) 26.07.08.      Well shaped head with neat ears of good set.   Short, straight nose.   Round orange eyes.   Unfortunately  his bite is undershot.
Firm chin.   Cheeks beginning to fill.   Coat short and dense, medium blue and almost sound to the roots.
3  EVERETT’S MALRIC JUSTWILLIAM  (16)  06.09.08.    His head lacks the British roundness, being rather wedge shaped and with large ears.   Straight broad nose.  Level bite.   Good orange eyes.   At present he is out of balance but this may just be his age and he needs to fill out a bit to look cobby.   Coat short and crisp, of medium blue and almost sound to the roots.   He was very nervous.

BLUE KITTEN, FEMALE
1 BOB  SIDEY’S EVAVALE LATCHCATS CAROUSEL  (16) 17.07.08.   Round head with good width between neat ears.   Broad, straight nose.  Level bite, firm chin, rounded muzzle.   Very good round, wide-open, deep orange eyes.   Cobby and well balanced with short legs, round paws and tail thicker at the base and rounded at the tip.   Coat very soft and long, medium blue and nearly sound to the roots.
2  WEBB’S LILYBELLS OCEANA (16) 06.10.08.   Nice round head with neat ears of good set.   Short straight nose with rather a deep stop.   Eye colour was poor, being very pale gold.   Level bite, firm chin.    She is very large for her age with strong legs, round paws, cobby body and good tail to balance.  Coat is long and soft, of medium blue and nearly sound to the roots.
3  SIDEY’S LATCHCATS JEWEL INMY CROWN (16)  29.08.08.   Small head with little ears.   Short, straight nose.  Level bite, firm chin.   Round eyes of good clear orange.   She is cobby and balanced but very petite.   Well furnished tail.   Coat is dense but soft and long, of medium blue and not quite sound to the roots.

AOC SPOTTED KITTEN
1 BOB EVANS’ EVAVALE DIMPLESNDOTS (30g) 20.07.08 Female Blue-Tortie Spotted.
Round head with medium ears.   Short, broad nose.   Level bite, firm chin and rounded muzzle.   Eye colour is still developing, at present they are a muddy colour.    Well balanced with cobby body, strong legs and large feet, good tail.   Her coat is short and crisp.  She is a pretty girl and well grown but the pattern, although there, is difficult to see.   She has well mingled blue cream spots on a bluish fawn ground.   Broken spine line.  The spots need much clearer definition.   She has tail rings and spots on her feet and abdomen.

TIPPED KITTEN
1 BOB McEWEN’S PENNYDOWN XCLUSIVE (39) 12.07.08  Black tipped Female.   Round ‘apple’ head with really tiny ears set well.   Narrow, straight nose with dark pink leather, well outlined.   Quite round green eyes, also well outlined in black.   Level bite, firm chin, rounded muzzle.  Cobby and well balanced with short legs, round paws and good thick tail of correct length and shape.   Coat is crisp and dense, reasonably short.   She has even light tipping of black on a pale silver undercoat.   There are just minimal ghost rings on the tail.
2  WELLS’ PENNYDOWN WISHINGONASTAR (39) 12.07.08  Black tipped Female.
This kitten was very similar to the winner  with the same round head and tiny  ears.   Straight, narrow nose with the leather, pink at the moment, just outlined.   Good bluish-green round eyes.     Cobby and well balanced with short legs, round paws and good thick tail of correct length and shape.   Her coat is a tad softer.   The black tipping darkens towards the tail so is less evenly distributed.   Pale silver undercoat.  There was very little to choose between the two kittens but the winner just had the edge on this one.

TIPPED NEUTER
1 PC BOB READE’S IOLANTHE BEN (39) 14.04.07  Black Tipped Male Neuter.
