Mrs S Danks

Thank you to Di, Lynda and committee for inviting me to judge. I had a very enjoyable day handling some lovely exhibits. Thank you also to Mark Pearman for his enjoyable company and for reversing rolls and stewarding for me.
0PEN CHINCHILLA KITTEN:
1 Mrs Rouse`s VILLIERS SILVER SNOWMAN M 10/9/08.  A 5 month old Chinchilla male with a lovely alert expression. Smooth skull with well set ears, a little open at base. Medium break with a short nose with a red brick leather outlined in black. Large bold round eyes of a good blue/green developing, nicely outlined in black. Full cheeks, a little pinched in the muzzle, level bite and firm chin. Square body with short legs and tail. Soft coat, pure white with a dusting of black tipping to his back, flanks and tail, white to ear furnishings, chin, chest and stomach, black pads with clean feet. Very well presented and with a lovely outgoing nature.
2 Mrs Taylor’s LYNCHARD RINGO STAR M 25/9/08.  Another 5 month old male kitten, a little bit more worried about all the attention. Smooth skull, well placed neat ears with white furnishings, good break and a short nose with a brick red leather, lightly outlined in black. Round eyes, colour changing from blue to green. His pupils are not yet settled and tending to deviate outwards a little. Good bite and firm chin, Square body short legs and a very dinky little tail. His undercoat appearing a little off white, maybe due to the lighting, with even black tipping, white to chin, chest and stomach. He had a very sweet nature.
AC NON BREEDERS F:
1 Mrs Rouse`s CH. STARDROPS YACINTA (INT.CH.IMP) (10) 15/8/06.  A pretty little female Chinchilla with a smooth rounded head well set ears a little open at base, with white furnishings. Good break and a short nose with brick red leather outlined in black. Round bold eyes of good emerald just a little pale to outer edge, full cheeks, good bite, chin a little weak. Coat soft and well prepared pure white with even black tipping to back flanks and tail. White to chin chest and stomach. Square body with a full tail in proportion. A very sweet nature.
AC RADIUS MALE/FEMALE:
1 Mrs Taylor’s LYNCHARD NATASHA (10) 24/9/04.  A 5 year old Chinchilla female with a smooth skull ears held a little high. Good break, nose a little straight with brick red leather nicely outlined in black. Cheeks need to be fuller for overall balance. Good bite and firm chin. Round eyes of excellent emerald. Good size square body with a well prepared coat, white with black tipping, a little heavier to her back and topside of tail. White to chin, chest and stomach. She had a lovely temperament.
AC BREEDERS NEUTER:
1 Mrs S Hows’ CH&PR HOWZAT ICE EDITION (10) 21/7/02.  A 6 ½ year old Chinchilla male with a smooth broad head, neat well set ears with white furnishings. Good break with a short snub nose with a brick red leather outlined in black. Round eyes of a good emerald. Good bite and firm chin. Pale coat lacking his undercoat with black tipping to his back flanks and tail. Slight smudging to back feet. Very easy to handle
AC SENIOR NEUTER:
1 Mrs Hows’ PR CUSHKA SANTINO (10) 20/5/06.  A 3 year old Chinchilla male with a smooth head, ears well placed with white furnishings. Good break and a short nose with a brick red leather outlined in black. Round eyes of a solid blue/green colour. Full cheeks, good bite and firm chin. Some black tipping to his face and overall a little heavily tipped to his back, flanks and topside of tail. His coat on his back was a little coarse and uneven.  White to chin, chest and stomach. Short body, standing a little high on his legs, full tail in proportion, and with a lovely temperament
AC NOVICE NEUTER:
1 Mrs Hows’ HOWZAT SERENA (10) 12/7/07.  An 18 month old Chinchilla female with a smooth skull, ears a little open with white furnishings. Good break and a short nose with a brick red leather lightly outlined in black. Round eyes of emerald, a little pale to outer edges. Full cheeks, good bite and firm chin. Her coat overall is a little heavily tipped with some tipping to her face. Lovely feathered feet. Square body with a medium length tail. Nice nature.
UCA CLUB CLASS:
1 Mrs Taylor’s LYNCHARD RINGO STAR (10).
2 Mrs Godfrey’s SHAWPAWS AMARULA PRINCE (10) 18/5/08.  A Chinchilla kitten just a few days away from 9 months. Unfortunately he had had an accident and was very messy around his bottom, tail and back legs. Smooth skull, ears a little tall, shallow break with a rather straight nose with a brick red leather lightly outlined in black. Round eyes of a very pale green. Good bite and firm chin. Cheeks needing to fill out. His coat was soft with a white undercoat and black tipping to back flanks and tail. Tipping a little heavier to his back, and some smudging to feet. A very sweet natured kitten who, I think would rather be at home.
GOLDEN NEUTER:
1 Mrs Peachey’s IMP GR PR CASHEL HEADBOY 11/7/03.  A 5 ½ year old Golden male who was not in a very good mood today. Smooth head with good breadth between medium size ears with apricot furnishings. Good break with a medium length nose with brick red leather. Outlined in seal. Round eyes of a deep emerald, but a little overshadowed by his brow and it gave him a frowning expression. Full cheeks, good bite but lacking in chin to balance. Square body with a short tail. His coat was soft and full with apricot undercoat deepening to a warm gold with even black tipping, heavier to his back and topside of tail. Seal to hocks.
AC ADULT:
1 Mrs Bayliss`s TAMOSAH GREAT EXPECTATIONS (51) 12/5/08.  A Black Shaded Cameo male only two days over 9 months and still having his kitten coat. Smooth skull with well set ears with silver ear tufts. Deep break and short snub nose with a black leather. Round eyes of a good solid copper developing. Full cheeks, good bite and strong chin with a silvery ruff that had a little staining under his chin. Body cobby with short strong legs and a short full tail. His coat was soft and full with good contrasts to his silver white undercoat and jet black shading approximately ½ of the hair shaft. Black to his face, back, topside of tail and legs. Lighter to his flanks, underbelly and underside of tail. He had a lovely temperament and still very much a kitten and needing time to mature.
AC PEWTER ADULT:
1 Mrs Pearson’s FILOSELLE PHOENIXRISING 17/5/05.  A 4 year old Pewter female with a smooth skull and well set ears held a little high. Deep break and a short snub nose with a brick red leather. Round eyes of a good orange but unfortunately has a green rim to the pupils. Full cheeks, good bite and firm chin. Body a little long and lacking in coat, showing no contrasts to her undercoat which was very cloggy and scurfy. She could have been greatly improved with better show preparation. Some barring to legs and face. She was very easy to handle
AC SMOKE ADULT:
A very mature looking 4 year old Red Smoke male. Smooth broad head with well set ears with silver furnishings. Very deep break spoilt by having a deep gutter across. Short snub nose with a pink leather. Eyes of a good copper but he was reluctant to open them fully. Full cheeks, good bite and strong chin. Although not in full coat, he had good contrasts to his ash white undercoat with medium red topcoat. Darker red to his mask but lacking his silvery ruff to emphasise. Needing more red to his legs as only showing his ash white undercoat. Strong cobby body with a medium length tail and with a lovely disposition.
AC NEUTER:
1 Mrs Abbott’s TAMOSAH FIREFLY (53) 25/8/07.  An 18 month old Pewter male with a smooth rounded skull, good breadth between neat ears, good break with a short nose with a brick red leather outlined in black. Round eyes of solid copper, full cheeks, level bite and firm chin. His face was silvery white tipped with black and he had good contrasts to a silvery white undercoat evenly shaded with black showing a good Pewter mantle to his back. Some ghost tabby markings to his front legs. Silvery white ear tufts, chin, chest and stomach and underside of tail. His coat was soft and flowing and very well presented. He had a sweet temperament.
2 Mrs Bayliss`s PR TAMOSAH ELVIN STARDUST (10) 20/6/06.  A 2 ½ year old Chinchilla male with a very sweet expression. Smooth head well set neat ears with plenty of white furnishings. Good break and a short snub nose with a brick red leather outlined in black. Round eyes of a solid blue/green, also nicely outlined in black. Cheeks could be fuller, good bite and firm chin with plenty of furnishings to his face. Square body on short legs and a short full tail. Coat soft and full with even black tipping a little heavier to the base of his tail, pure white to chin chest and stomach. He was lovely to handle.
ADULT OF SOCIETY BREEDS:
1 Mrs ROUSE`S CH STARDROPS LARISSA (IMP) 27/7/06.  A 2 ½ year old Chinchilla female with a pretty expression. Smooth rounded skull with ears well set just a little open. Good break and short snub nose with a brick red leather outlined in black. Round eyes of a good blue/green. Bite a little undershot with a firm chin. Her coat was soft and well prepared, pure white evenly tipped with black, white to chin, chest and stomach. Square body with short legs and a medium length full tail, with a slight defect near the tip.
HOUSEHOLD PET:
AC ORIGINALLY A STRAY:
1 MASTER BLACKABY`S BUTTERFLY.  A very pretty tortie tabby and white female in excellent condition. Pristine white with patches of tortie tabby and with a thick ringed tail. Such a sweetie just wanting cuddles.
2 MRS CHITTY`S DONALD.  A 2 ½ year old black and white male also in good condition for his age but in the middle of a large moult. White feet bib and whisker pads and with a sweet nature.

Mrs C Gainsbury

I would like to thank Di Birtwhistle and the Committee for the invitation to judge again this year.  I had a most lovely day, also thank you to my steward Hedi who handled the exhibits with great care.
DOMINANT CAMEO MALE ADULT:
1 & CC MRS BAYLISS’S TAMOSAH GREAT EXPECTATIONS (51). A young Black Shaded Cameo Adult Male, born 12.05.08.   Good top of head with neat well-placed ears and good ear furnishings, round orange eyes, snub nose, ample cheeks, good bite and firm muzzle.  He has a medium size body with sturdy legs and tufted paws, covered by a well prepared long soft in texture coat that is still developing, he has a fairly clear undercoat but his tipping is a little heavy on his face and back at the moment, hence gave him the benefit of the doubt in giving him the cc on this occasion.
DOMINANT CAMEO FEMALE ADULT:
1 & CC MRS WILKINSON’S DANMOSO LOVEATFORSTSIGHT (51d).  Red Shaded Cameo Female Adult that seems to improve each time I see her, born 04.10.2006.  She has neat well placed and nicely furnished ears sitting on a broad top of head, round good orange eyes, snub nose, nice full cheeks, slightly undershot bite and firm chin.  Her body is in proportion with strong legs and rounded paws, covered by a well-groomed soft in textured coat that is just a little short today but groomed to perfection down to the last hair of a light coloured undercoat and evenly shaded with red tipping down to her full plumed tail.
PEWTER/BLUE PEWTER ADULTS:
1 MRS PERASON’S FILOSELLE PHOENIXRISING (53) Black Pewter Adult Female, born 17.05.2005.  Good top of head with neat nicely placed ears with lovely furnishing.  She has round orange eyes, unfortunately still has a slight green rim around the iris, nice short broad nose, wide cheeks, acceptable bite and firm chin. Her body is in proportion with strong legs and rounded paws, covered by a well-prepared silky textured pale but rather short pale coat at the moment and overlaid with fairly even black mantle down to her plumed tail, nice girl but unfortunately I could not give the CC today, she needs more coat and hopefully her eye colour will improve.

1 MRS GODFREY’S SHAWPAWS AMARULA PRINCE, (10).  Open faced Chinchilla Male Kitten, born 18.05.2008. He has ample cheeks, level bite and firm chin. Good size body with sturdy legs and rounded paws. Mr E Merchant

I was very pleased to be invited to judge at this show, once again, and thank Di and the committee for asking me.  I also enjoyed my day with Carole Pearson as my very experienced and competent steward.
OPEN CLASSES
CHAMPION FEMALE:
GR CC ROUSE’S CH. STARDROPS YACINTA (INT CH IMP) (10) DOB. 15.08.06. This was a pretty, well balanced Chinchilla girl.  She had a perfect bite and firm chin.  Her eyes were large and round and a good green colour.  She had a short broad nose with good break and the correct brick red nose leather.  There was good black pencilling around her nose, eyes and lips.  She had an excellent top of head, with her well furnished and neat little ears well positioned and widely spaced. Her coat was a good length, soft in texture but I thought lacked just a little fullness.  There was even light tipping over her back and upper side of tail. She was a cobby girl, with a large smoothly rounded head, full cheeks, a short broad body, short well boned legs and a full short tail.  She had an excellent temperament, and had been well prepared for the show.
RESERVE ROUSE’S CH STARDROPS LARISSA (IMP) (10) DOB 27.07.06. Another very pretty chinchilla girl with a profuse coat.  It was long and flowing and had a light even tipping over her back and upper tail.  The coat was soft in texture and had been well prepared.  Unfortunately her bite is a bit undershot, but she had a firm chin.  Her nose was small and broad, and she had the correct brick red nose leather. She had eyes that were large and round and of an acceptable blue/green shade. There was good black pencilling around her eyes nose and lips.   Her ears were being held a little high today, and they were a little open at the base.  I would have liked her head to be larger, but it was smoothly rounded.  She had a short broad body, well boned legs and a full short tail.
CHINCHILLA NEUTERS MALE:
1 PC HOW’S PR CUSHKA CUSHKA SANTINO (10) DOB 20.05.06.  This Chinchilla was a very lovable friendly lad, with a profuse well prepared coat.  For perfection I would have liked his tipping a little lighter, but it was evenly distributed.  He had a bold, smoothly rounded head, with full cheeks and a firm chin. His bite was good although his teeth were concave. His eyes were large and round and of a very good rich blue/green colour.   The fullness of his coat helped to conceal ears that were a touch large, but they were well furnished and positioned towards the sides of his head to give a good width to his top.  He was a cobby lad, with a short broad body to balance his large round head, and he had well boned short legs and a full short tail.  This lad was a pleasure to handle.
2 HOW’S CH PR HOWZAT ICE EDITION (10) DOB. 21.07.02. Another handsome lad, who had a profuse, long flowing coat of soft silky texture.  He had good overall balance, with a large smoothly rounded head.  For perfection I would have liked his ears a little smaller, but they were well positioned to give a good top of head.  He had excellent large round eyes of a good blue green colour.  His bite was concave but level and he had a firm chin.  There was good pencilling present around his eyes nose and lips.  There was staining on his face which spoiled his appearance a little, however he was a friendly lad and had been otherwise well prepared for the show.
3 BAYLISS’S PR. TAMOSAH ELVINSTARDUST (10) DOB 20.06.06.
CHINCHILLA NEUTERS FEMALE:
MATTHEWS’ CH & IGP VILLERS WHATAPOPPET (10) DOB 04.06.05.  She was a truly glamorous Chinchilla girl, with a wonderful full softly textured flowing coat.  There was even light tipping over her back and upper tail.  She has a perfect bite, and excellent large round eyes of a very good shade of blue green.  There was good black pencilling around her brick red nose leather as well as her lips and eyes.  Her nose was short and broad with a good break.  She is a cobby girl, with short thick legs, and a full short tail.  Sadly she became very cross with us, and I thought we might have to issue an A.S.B.O. but a very confident steward helped us avoid that necessity.
2 HOW’S HOWZAT SERENA (10) DOB 12.07.07.  A Chinchilla girl with a sweet expression.  Her head was large and round with a smoothly rounded forehead.  Here yes were large and round and of a good blue/green colour.  I thought her ears were held a little high today, slightly spoiling the width to her top of head. She had a perfect bite and a firm chin.  Her nose was short and broad with a good break, and the correct brick red nose leather.  There was good black pencilling around her eyes nose and lips.  She had a very well balanced cobby build with a large head, short broad body, exceptionally short thick tail and well boned thick short legs.
PEWTER ADULT NEUTER:
1 PC ABBOTT’S TAMOSAH FIREFLY (53) DOB 25.08.07.  This was a huge, friendly lad with a very full and softly textured coat.  He had an even black mantle over his back and upper tail lying over a very good bright white undercoat.  I thought his eyes could have been a little larger, but they were round in shape and of a good copper colour.  He bite was good and he had a firm chin.  He had a short broad nose with a good break and the correct brick red nose leather.  There was good black pigmentation around his eyes, nose and lips.  He was a well grown cobby lad, with a large smoothly rounded head, short broad body, short well boned legs and a full short tail.  He had a good temperament and had been well prepared.
2 ABBOTT’S TAMOSAH ELIJAH (53) DOB 04.08.06.  This was a very handsome Pewter lad, whose looks outshone his mood on the day.  Once out of his pen he was quite manageable; he simply complained a lot.  He had very good overall balanced type, with a large smoothly rounded head and full cheeks.  His bite was acceptable and he had a firm chin.  His nose was short and broad with a good break and the correct brick red nose leather.  His small ears were well positioned and were well furnished.  His coat was full and soft, and he had a black mantle running from the top of his head to the top of his tail, but this was a little uneven.  He had been well prepared for the show.
MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES:
AC JUNIOR MALE:
1 BAYLISS’S TAMOSAH GREAT EXPECTATIONS (51) DOB 12.05.08. I thought this lad was a very attractive cat, although at present he lacks maturity.  At just 9 months old he will develop much more yet.  On the day I had some uncertainty about whether he was a Black shaded cameo or a Black smoke.  There was a strong indication of a black mask and silver frill both suggestive of a black smoke.  There was even tipping over his back and flanks and the hair shafts where about half coloured to half white.  The undercoat was a very nice white colour.  He had lovely balanced type, with a large smoothly rounded head and full cheeks.  His ears were small and well positioned to give a good top of head.  He had a small broad nose with a good break and black nose leather.  His eyes were large and round and of a good copper colour.  He was a cobby lad, with short well boned legs, and a full short tail.
AC SENIOR MALE/FEMALE:
1 TAYLOR’S LYNCHARD NATASHA (10)   DOB 24.09.04.  This pretty Chinchilla girl had large round green eyes filled with expression.  Her bite was good and she had a firm chin.  Her coat was full and softly textured with light even tipping and an excellent full white undercoat.  Her nose was short and broad with a good break and she had small ears positioned will to give a broad top of head.  She had been well prepared for the shown and had a good temperament.
2 PEARSON’S PHOENIXRISING (53) DOB 17.05.05.  This was a very pretty pewter girl with very good overall balance.  She had large round eyes of a good copper colour. Her nose was short and broad with a good break and the correct brick red nose leather.  She had good pigmentation around her eyes nose and lips. Her ears were small a little open at the base but well positioned to give width to her top of head.  On the day she was experiencing a seasonal malt, resulting in her coat not being at its best.  Because she had lost coat this helped her mantle to look heavier that it would have done if lifted by undercoat.  There was very good evidence of white undercoat, but her slightly heavier mantle accentuated the tabby markings.  She was a cobby little girl, with a large round head, short broad body, well boned short legs and a full short tail.  She was a pleasing little girl, and had a good temperament.
AC BREEDERS KITTEN MALE:
1 TAYLOR’S LYNCHARD RINGO STAR (10) DOB. 25.09.08. This was a super little lad with a profuse, softly textured coat, with that sparkling appearance produced by light even tipping, and an abundant white undercoat.  He had a good bit, with firm chin.  His eye colour had not yet cleared, but there was every indication of a density of colour.  He had a short broad nose with a good break and the correct brick re nose leather.  There was good pencilling around his eyes nose and lips.  His ears were small and positioned towards the sides of his head to give an excellent width to his top of head.  He was a cobby little chap, with a large full cheeked round head, short broad body, well boned short legs and a full short tail.  He had been well prepared for the show and had a good temperament.
2 ROUSE’S VILLERS SILVER SNOWMAN (10) DOB 10.09.08.  This was another very attractive little lad who had a good softly textured coat that was lightly and evenly tipped over a good white undercoat.  His bite needs watching, and on the day I considered it to be slightly undershot.  He had a firm chin, and a short broad nose with a good break and the correct brick red nose leather.  There was good black pencilling around his eyes nose and lips.  His ears were well positioned to give a good top of head, and he was a cobby little chap with a large smoothly rounded head, short broad body, well boned short legs and a full short tail.  He had been well prepared for the show and had a good temperament.
AC NON-BREEDERS NEUTER:
1 MEADOWS’ CH PR YOONEEK WISHUPONASTAR (6) DOB 30.08.06.   This huge black smoke fellow had the sweetest of temperaments.  On the day he was not in full coat which detracted from the magnificence we expect from a black smoke, however he had a good solid facial mask, and good white ear tufts.  He would have looked better with more white frill to frame his face.  His coat was black with approx two thirds colour over a bright with undercoat.  His bite was good and he had a firm chin.  His eyes were large and round and of a good copper colour.  He had small ears that were well positioned to give a good top of head.  He had a good cobby build, with large round head, short broad back, well boned short legs and a full short tail.  He had been well prepared for the show.

Although the entry was reduced the quality of the exhibits was not, it was my pleasure to handle some really quality cats. The hospitality was super including the lovely lunch (especially the “puddings”!!). My thanks also to Pat Parrish who again steward for me, she was a great help and really loved to handle the cats.
