MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES OF MEETING 24th October 2007
'Official Journal'
a) The Executive Committee to ask Our Cats to continue to publish show reports and official notices at a cost of £1,000 per issue for the next three months.

b) The Executive Committee is prepared to recommend to Council to continue with negotiations with Seaview for the publication of the official journal of the GCCF.

c) The Black & White Cat Club proposes that;
The GCCF office, or the Executive Committee, should immediately make available, at this meeting, any details of legal and or other expenditure incurred through the cancellation of the contract with 'Our Cats' and an estimate of costs incurred subsequently, up to the date of this meeting. Furthermore are there any outstanding invoices or claims against Council at this moment.

CAT WELFARE TRUST
Mrs Rosemary Fisher and Mr Julian Hague have been appointed Trustees of the Cat Welfare Trust.

OFFICE
a) Club Returns
A letter has been received from the Burmese Cat Society requesting that no reminder letters with regards to the club returns be sent out. This is due to some clubs not having their AGMs until the end of April. The Committee discussed this matter and suggested that a reminder letter is sent out in the Council posting stating that if this has not been discussed with the club committee could they ensure it is done.

b) The Black & White Cat Club proposes that;
Delegates standing for Election to the Executive Committee should provide a 50 word statement of their policy regarding the future of the Governing Council, and with respect to the position their aims and ambitions.

c) The Black & White Cat Club proposes that;
All future Council and Executive meetings shall be fully recorded and kept for a minimum of one year and be made available, if required, in matters of dispute.

d) Proposed alternatives to the "No Recognised Breed" registrations from the Executive Committee.

 
8.

AMENDMENT TO THE GCCF RULES
The Seal & Blue Point Birman Cat Club proposes that;

"Judges should be permitted to judge at one show and exhibit in competition at another show where those shows are held at the same venue on the same day."

 
9.
STANDARDS OF POINTS
Executive Committee recommends the following with effect from 1 June 2008.

The Joint Rex BAC amendments to the Standard of Points for Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, La Perm and Selkirk Rex breeds amend as follows:

Delete: All coat colours, patterns and colour combinations are acceptable, including any white markings on any coat pattern.

Add: Colour and pattern are irrelevant and carry no points therefore a cat should not be penalised if apparently wrongly registered.

 
10.

REGISTRATION POLICIES
Executive Committee recommends the following with immediate effect.
a) Joint Rex BAC addition to the Breeding and Registration Policies for the Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, La Perm and Selkirk Rex breeds.
The addition reads as follows:
"Note: it is recommended where the colour of a cat is in question a DNA test, (where such a test exists), be arranged."

b) Ocicat BAC addition to the Registrations Policy to read as follows:
"Cats on the Supplementary Register
Ocicats with Full or Provisional recognition which have in their pedigrees within the preceding five generations only Ocicats (as listed in A and B above), Ocicat Variants or Abyssinians (as listed in C above) shall be registered on the Supplementary Register.

c) Exotic Shorthair BAC revised Registration Policy.

b) Judge withdrawals, etc.
a) Mrs Pat Neale has retired from the Cat Fancy. In a letter received at the office Mrs Neale said that she had truly enjoyed every minute but unfortunately Anno Domini had taken its course and at eighty years old she was finding the writing of reports difficult. Mrs Neale ended the letter "With grateful thanks for having me all these years."

b) Mrs Valerie Kilby has resigned as a probationary Judge on the Siamese and Balinese judging lists.

c) Mr Colin Read has resigned as a Probationer Judge of Self Longhairs.

d) Mr Gordon Butler has requested his name to be placed on the Emeritus Judges list with immediate effect.

e) Mrs Sally Rainbow-Ockwell has been removed from the Persian Tabby Judges list.
