Obituary - Lesley Pring

Following the outcome of the Council meeting in October, a constructive meeting has taken place with representatives of the Executive Committee and the publishers of OUR CATS to discuss a way forward to resolve the present situation concerning the official title and the publishing of the judges' reports. This will be discussed at the next Executive Committee meeting on 9th January 2008 and it is hoped a workable proposal will be taken to the Council meeting on the 20th February 2008.

As from the 1st February 2008, Our Cats will no longer be the GCCF Official Journal. There will be a new publication 'Fancy That'. The GCCF confirm that they will be publishing reports and GCCF Notices in Our Cats until 31st January 2008. Please refer to the Official Notices page for further information.

On Monday 13th March 2006 the GCCF was accepted as a member of the World Cat Congress.



At the October 2003 Council meeting, the GCCF Stewarding Scheme and revised Judge Appointment Scheme were approved. One form was amended at the February 2005 Council meeting.

These are available in pdf format together with the new forms for these schemes.

Minor amendments to the Schemes were approved at the October 2004, June 2005 and February 2006 Council meetings.



The November 2004 issue of the Rules is available from the GCCF Office, price £2.00.

At the February 2005, June 2005, October 2005 and February 2006 Council meetings amendments were made to the GCCF Rules and at the June 2006 Council meeting a revised edition, including further amendments, was approved. Further amendments were approved at the October 2006 meeting.

At the June 2003 Council meeting fixed penalties were introduced for breaches of certain rules

At the June 2007 Council meeting, Mr Gordon Butler was appointed as Chairman of the GCCF.

At the June 2007 Council meeting, Mr John Hansson was apponted as Vice-Chairman of the GCCF.

At the June 2007 Council meeting, Mrs Christina Dugdale was appointed as Vice-President of the GCCF

At the June 2007 Council meeting Mrs Doreen Goadby and Mr G Butler were appointed as Trustees of the GCCF

At the February 2005 Council meeting, Mr Keith Scruton was appointed as a Trustee of the Cat Welfare Trust

At the June 2004 Council meeting, Mrs Rosemary Gowdy and Mr Jeremy Potter were appointed as Vice-Presidents of the GCCF

At the June 2003 Council meeting, Mrs Lesley Pring was appointed as President of the GCCF

At the October 2002 Council meeting, Mrs Susan Moreland was appointed as a Trustee of the Cat Welfare Trust.

At the February 2002 Council meeting, Mrs Eileen Fryer was appointed as a Trustee of the Cat Welfare Trust

At the February 2002 Council meeting, Mr Jeremy Potter was appointed as a Trustee of the GCCF

At the February 2002 Council meeting, Mrs Muriel Calder and Mrs Lesley Pring were appointed as Vice-Presidents of the GCCF



The affiliation of new cat clubs must be approved by a Full Council Meeting.

At the Council meeting of 22nd June 2005 it was reported that the Bengal Cat Club of GB had relinquished affiliation to the GCCF and that the Chocolate Series Cat Club and TOFFS were closing.



The recognition of new breeds, the promotion of breeds from Preliminary to Provisional status and the promotion of breeds from Provisional status to full Championship status must be proposed by the Executive Committee and approved by a Full Council Meeting.

The most recent edition of the GCCF Standard of Points was published in June 2005. There are additions and amendments to the Standards of Points.

Breeds which are granted Preliminary recognition may be entered in shows from the date of the Council meeting at which they are approved, provided that the published closing date of the show is after the date of the Council meeting and provided there is a scheduled class in which to enter.

Breed promotions to Provisional or Championship status must be approved before 31st December in order to be eligible for inclusion in schedules from the start of the new show season (1st June). If a breed promotion is not approved until after 31st December, the promotion will not take effect until the following year's new show season.
NB. The last Council meeting of the year is the October meeting.



Amendments to Registration Policies were approved at the June 2004, October 2004, February 2005, June 2005, October 2005, February 2006, June 2006, October 2006 and June 2007 Council meetings.
