Tributes

Annette Wilson
(Alice Noelle Wilson)

The funeral will be held on Monday 22nd February at 1 pm at the St Marylebourne Crematorium on East End Road.

**********

I was informed earlier this week that Mrs Annette Wilson had died.  A number of you will no doubt remember Annette who was a long term committee member of the National Cat Club & also the Herts & Middlesex Cat Club, of which she was for a great many years the show manager.  That was in the days of holding the show at Alexandra Palace which some of will no doubt recall.

In my younger days along with Eileen Peachey, we spent many an hour inputting by hand all the relevant cats into the correct classes, very much before the advent of computer programmed schedules and judging books, whilst Annette supplied us with home made genuine Indian curries, recipes which she had perfected in India, where she lived in her younger days.

She was also heavily involved with the Capital Longhair Cat Club.

Annette also worked for a great many years with the RSPCA for which she did a huge amount of rescue work and re-homing.

Annette led a very full life, but in recent years had become much frailer, she was always a charming lady who cared very much for all cats,

I sent my sympathies to her family, particularly Jill who had looked after her as her carer for the last few years.

**********

It is with much sadness that myself and the Siamese Cat Club Committee learned Annette Wilson – our Vice President passed away on 8th February 2010 – she was 95 years of age.

Annette had been a member of the Club since 1966 and bred many lovely Siamese under the Prefix REDLEAF. She had served on the committee since the late 60’s and at our annual show was always there and always until latter years organised the vets for our show apart from numerous other jobs. Over the years she was also involved with the Herts & Middx CC and also the National CC and again was always busying herself and helping when and wherever necessary. Whichever club Annette was involved with she gave her all – nothing was ever too much trouble for her and for this she will be greatly missed by all her knew her and worked with her.

In her last few years whilst she was still mobile, her daughter Jill who lived with Annette and cared for her – took her daily to Alexander Palace to feed the ducks which was one of her favourite outings – however, as she became frailer as it was in the cold months she did not miss the going out too much.

Apart from Siamese, she took in all sorts of unwanted and stray domestic cats which she adored, and at the time of her passing still had 4 which Jill will take care of. Her life revolved around cats of any breed or type which she adored – and there always seemed to be room for just one more.

We send our deepest sympathy to her daughter Jill and her family on their sad loss. Her Cremation will be held at 1 p.m. On Monday 22nd February 2010 at the St. Marylebourne Crematorium on East End Road. Jill has requested no flowers but donations to the RSPCA in her memory.
