Thinking about showing your cat but not sure where to begin? Whether your cat is a pedigree, a pet, or something in between, GCCF shows are open, friendly, and full of people just like you – cat lovers who took that first step and never looked back.

Why Show Your Cat?
- Join a welcoming community of cat lovers and breeders
- Meet other owners, ask questions, and learn as you go
- Show off your cat! Let them shine on the judge’s table
- Win rosettes and awards – or just enjoy the day and have fun
- Build confidence – in your cat, and in yourself as an owner
Who Can Show a Cat?
- Pedigree cats can be shown in breed classes
- Household Pets (non-pedigrees and neutered pedigree pets) are always welcome
- Neuters and kittens can also be shown
- You don’t need to be a breeder – many exhibitors are pet owners who just love their cats
If your cat is friendly, clean, and in good health… they can show!

How Do You Get Started?
You’ll also need to provide your cat with a:
- White litter tray
- White food bowl
- White water bowl
- White blanket for your cat’s comfort in the pen
(We can direct you to suppliers who stock everything you need.)
That’s it – no complicated process, just a few simple steps to get started.

What to Expect on Show Day
- You’ll arrive early and go through vetting-in
- Your cat will rest in a secure, standard show pen
- The judge comes to your pen to assess your cat – you don’t handle your cat during judging
- You can spend the day watching judging, chatting with other exhibitors, and enjoying the atmosphere
- You might go home with a rosette – or just a happy, well-loved cat

You Don’t Have to Know Everything
New exhibitors are welcome – in fact, everyone was new once. The GCCF community is full of people happy to help. You don’t need to win – just turn up, take part, and enjoy the day.
